A pleasant hotel with a good location in the city center. Attentive staff, at a level. Quality breakfast concept, cozy and excellent restaurant. The room is comfortable, quiet, just cold for my taste. The air conditioning did not have time to heat the room and the bathroom. But otherwise everything was fine.

We have only been here a few hours and I can already say this is one of the loveliest hotels we have ever stayed at! The hotel and rooms are charming, the location fantastic, but what makes Hotel du Vin a truly wonderful place to stay is the incredible staff, in particular Ben and Jennifer!! We arrived early in the morning jet lagged and tired and Ben, the manager, was so incredibly warm and welcoming! He set us up next to the fireplace so we could have breakfast and did everything you can possibly imagine to make sure we had a lovely and delicious breakfast. He was so kind and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They even went out of their way not to wake my husband who took a rather deep and lengthy nap by the fire. Jennifer, at reception, was just as wonderful! I had emailed reservations prior to our stay expressing a desire for their most “charming” room. Jennifer patiently and cheerfully showed us several options to make sure we had the room we most liked. I have stayed at many 5 star hotels and while service can be impeccable and polite, it is often formal and cold. At Hotel du Vin Edinburgh you get the exceptional service of a 5 star hotel with the warmth and cheer of an old friend. What could be better :)!!

I spent 4 days there alone, great experience, really pleasant, attentive and caring staff, hotel ideally located in the old town, close to all the tourist attractions. When I return to Edinburgh I will definitely stay at this hotel Thanks to all the staff

Lovely hotel in a great location just a 4 minute walk down to the Royal Mile (perpendicular to the Main Street). Rooms are a great size and bathrooms are large and renovated with tubs and showers. If traveling with a baby or children, there is a lift but you may need to take some stairs to get to your room as it is four buildings linked together. Would definitely recommend to stay here if visiting town. You can also opt out of daily cleaning for a drink voucher at the bistro- also recommend this option!

Roy assisted my friends and I with whiskeys to accompany our Cigars. He was extremely helpful and guided us with what whiskeys to buy. As we are new to the whiskey scene, he gave is insight into how they accompany eachover and styles!

Great hotel with a very convenient location. We stayed here for three nights in a relatively large deluxe room with a king bed for a family of three. The location of the hotel was perfect - a short walk to the Royal Mile. The hotel literally bisects the Royal Mile, which means you turn left (uphill) and you are a short walk to Edinburgh Castle and if you turn right, you are a short walk downhill to Dynamic Earth and Palace of Holyroodhouse. The hotel is also next to the restaurants of Grassmarket and across the street from National Museum of Scotland, which is great for kids (it’s got a T-Rex skeleton). Great dining options next door include Mamas Comfort Food, which has a great steak and ale pie, and Bobby’s sandwich shop, which justifies its high rating. Other recommendations are Barry’s Fish and Chips (great ambience and service) on Victoria Street and Makar’s, which has a five star rating (we enjoyed the Wild Boar sausage and beef). All are next to the hotel. Most importantly, the breakfast at the hotel was great. In particularly the man and woman (unfortunately, I didn’t get their names) serving us - very prompt and always helpful.

I love this hotel. Comfortable and unique rooms. Great location in old town. 5 star staff. Stayed in November and just booked 2 nights for April. Oh and convenient parking. Update just completed stay. Will be back for a 3rd stay. 5 stars all around. Thank you for making my stay in the Burgh lovely.

Hotel very well located. Pleasant staff. Spacious room with comfortable bed and bathroom. Beautiful restaurant and excellent dishes. Great choice at breakfast. Enjoyable relaxation area in the living room.

Lovely spot for a quiet drink with lots of options. Edit 2024 - not such a great spot for a wine tasting, the event was overbooked and the room far too small.

Reasonably priced and good quality. Wedding held here this week. Great event, food really good quality, service pre and post dinner fantastic.

We had different wraps and everything from the wraps to the coffee to the smoothie was very fresh and tasty. Perfect for a quick lunch.

We ordered through deliveroo. Food was pretty poor, avo on toast was extremely zesty (far too much lemon) the over night oats were nothing but a gloop of watery oats with a dollop of peanut butter in the middle of it - really didn’t work. The pickled Scotsman had far too much cream cheese on it - over powering the rest of the frugally places ingredients.

Love, love, love! Ordered a very nice wrap, some green juice and the best Blueberry Muffin. The only regret I have is not having had the chance to go back a 2nd time

I absolutely love this place! So refreshing to have somewhere that offers really healthy fresh food - would order from here everyday if I could!! There is one guy who just makes my day when I come here! He’s super friendly & super attentive, makes the visit so worthwhile. Wish there were more satellite takeouts around the city !!

On a recommendation from a local we visited for lunch - what an excellent experience! Wraps all round - made/cooked in front of us - literally! Attentive staff? Absolutely- one of the preparers noticed my son was finding his wrap quite spicy - he brought round one of the smoothies to cool it down - on the house (not that I would have expected it on the house - contrary to the thoughts of the owner of a restaurant I previously submitted a review for at a restaurant in another British country!) An absolute must if you are visiting Edinburgh! Thanks

Wow!! What a find. Second visit, will be going again tomorrow! Kids loved it, its healthy and the flavours explode with freshness. As a family we have now tried, smoothes , juices, salads, warm bowls, wraps and cake. All first class! The kids have fell in love with the frozen yogurt, granola, with fresh strawberries sprinkled with cinnamon. They even liked the homemade vegan choc cake , which was yummy. They would not have eaten any of that at home!! Spotlessly clean. The service was quick and the people were the friendliest around! Nothing was too much trouble. The lady even remembered my son didnt like cream cheese and tomatoes from the day before and spent time talking with him about what to eat. It was great they have seats where you can see everything being made, kids enjoyed watching. There are lots of Independents in Edinburgh this is one worth visiting. If you want amazing fresh food, smoothies, warm, friendly service this is a place not to be missed and one you may visit multiple times.

I was a bit dubious about visiting this cafe as I tend to choose something less healthy when going out to eat! We had an amazing lunch here though. It was great to see all the fresh ingredients being prepared next to you. My gem smoothie was incredible and I would return just to have another of them! My husbands peanut butter smoothie was also delicious. We both enjoyed healthy bowls of noodles with salmon or for me aubergine with a really tasty sauce. They both had lots of yummy editions like pickled veg , nuts etc to really make them interesting. I would definitely return or order delivery in the future!

I went there for my work break and ordered a wrap which was delicious (the best wrap I’ve ever had I think) and Julian was so nice, funky and helpful. Cannot fault it at all!

Great healthy food with a good choice of menu. We had a little mix up with a takeaway recently and the manager could not have been nicer, refunding my meal and insisting that I could get something free the next day. That kind of service is rare. Would highly recommend. The beetroot juice is also weirdly addictive. Give it a go and you’ll see what I mean!

Kauai is my go-to for brunch and lunch. Great coffee, great smoothies, great juice shots. I have tried most things on the menu and the food never fails - delicious. I have visited a couple of other Kauai branches in South Africa and now so happy that we have one in Edinburgh. Seriously good, fresh, nutritious food. The team who work there are also really friendly, knowledgable and make you feel very welcome. Thankful Deliveroo can keep my Kauai fix going during lock-down!

They have a great selection of warm seasonal bowls.... and their Veg Butta Curry Is the best vegetable curry I have tasted. Friendly service too .... a great combination.

Serves healthy, fresh food which is very tasty. It takes a while and it’s not cheap (around £7) for a wrap but it’s definitely worth the price (and is on a par with many other places around Forest Road). My fave is the spicy avo bowl. Please can we get a veggie version of the spicy burrito? That would make the menu complete in my view.

I work across the road and have my breaks here, on average 3-4 times a week. I have tried most of the menu and everything is very tasty. Great value for money as the portions are big <3 My new favourite is their Kimchi Kick from the brunch menu, must try! The team is great, speedy but accurate and treat everyone with a smile on their face even when it's a hectic lunch time. The place itself is looking superb, great design, also very clean and adhering to COVID rules.

Had various wraps and bowls . All are fresh and full of flavour with generous amounts of meat/veg and fruit. So much value for money. Couldn’t recommend enough!!!

Visited a couple of times - always pristine and high hygiene practices in place. Food is delicious especially the Butter Chicken Bow and Chicken Caesar Wrap. Definitely worth a visit for breakfast, brunch and lunch or just a delicious organic coffee

What a beautiful space with very high cleaning procedures in place, friendly and well experienced staff and the food is just incredible- great to have a quick service health food restaurant in edinburgh!
