My mum and I absolutely love this place! We come here all the time for their Matcha crepe cakes which are soo delicious. We also love their coffee and appreciate that they stock oat milk. It has such a cosy vibe and really makes you feel like you’re in a tea room in Japan!

A Japanese Vibe Coffee shop. I went for the match crepe cake, but it is kinda disappointing. Match dessert as one of the favourites for Asian is because they are not really sweet, but the cake there failed this asian sweetness test and you can’t really feel the attractiveness of match from this cake. For the coffee, I ordered hot Americano and there’s nothing special about it. It tastes like the kind of coffee you can buy it from Pret. Anyways, the atmosphere of the shop inside is pretty good and I love the interior design. However, the restaurant adopts free seating and it’s kinda hard to find a seat as the shop is kinda small and the seats there aren’t really comfy.

Very nice Japanese café in Angel. The cakes are always a nice exploration of different flavours and the selection of green teas is good considering this is London. A bit pricy (it's Angel) but a nice place to go to if you're looking for something a bit different.

The white hot chocolate was delicious and exactly what I needed in a cold day. The employees were really nice. The space inside is not a lot so it gets crowded during the weekends, just a heads up if you don’t want to use the garden you’ll probably have to wait for a table to be free.

This chain Japanese cafe is located on Angel Street and is very easy to find, just a 7-10 mins walk from the tube station. The interior is a bit narrow, and the seating can feel quite cramped. We ordered a black sesame latte, black sesame cake, MontBlanc cake, matcha crepe cake, matcha latte, and white ale. While the two black sesame items were somewhat average—lacking a strong sesame flavor—the other dishes were excellent and definitely worth recommending. However, the staff could improve their friendliness, as they didn’t seem very welcoming. Overall, it’s a nice spot with some great desserts!

Really disappointed with this cafe, the staff were really rude and the shop not very accessible. I had to clear my own table, wipe it down and remove the previous clutter before they would take my order. Would not come back. As you can see the hot drinks are handleless and I found this very difficult to enjoy my drink as I am disabled.

Such a beautiful cafe with a great selection of Japanese tea and cakes. Although some of the drinks could be a little on the pricier side, it is fairly reasonable for London prices and there is hot water by the counter to refill tea. Lovely seating area outside 10/10.

Horrible experience with Katsute 100—completely unprofessional and disorganized! I wanted to order a whole strawberry shortcake for my wife’s birthday because she absolutely loves Japanese shortcake. I called their Brick Lane branch to arrange the order, explaining that it’s much closer to me than their Angel branch. The staff assured me it wouldn’t be a problem and directed me to their website—a clunky, poorly designed site with terrible UI. I placed the order online, including a special request for the cake to be delivered to their Brick Lane branch. Wanting to confirm, I messaged them through their website. They responded, saying it wasn’t possible to deliver to Brick Lane and that it could only be picked up from their Islington branch. Reluctantly, I agreed and left it at that. But shockingly, they decided to cancel my order without my knowledge. This was just because I had asked if delivery to Brick Lane was possible—not because I canceled the order myself. When I called to check on the order, they casually informed me it had been canceled and refused to take a new order for the next day. Keep in mind, this was a special cake for a birthday celebration! To make matters worse, the manager was rude and kept changing their story mid-conversation. They showed zero accountability and insisted it was my fault for not responding to a chat message on their website—an email notification about the message went straight to my junk folder! Meanwhile, they had my phone number and email but never bothered to call or send a proper follow-up. Oh, and they’d already taken the payment without providing the cake or resolving the issue. This establishment clearly prioritizes rapid expansion over quality or customer service. Zero remorse, no apology, and complete disregard for their customers. They are flying high on opening new branches but neglecting the basics of customer interaction. They ruined what was supposed to be a special birthday surprise. If you care about good service and reliability, avoid Katsute 100 at all costs. This business doesn’t deserve your money.

A charming spot in the heart of Angel for Japanese cakes, tea, and coffee. My friend and I visited on a busy Saturday but managed to find seats in the garden. The outdoor area is equipped with heaters, making it a cosy option even in winter. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and the cakes were delightful—excellent in both flavour and portion size. Prices are fair, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Been wanting to get the matcha crepe cake for a while now and it did not disappoint. A little on the pricey side but understandable due to the hype. The matcha crepe cake was creamy with a perfect level of sweetness. I asked for a recommendation of a tea to have with it and was recommended one of the green teas. The tea went well with the cake, thank you for the recommendation! The interior design and atmosphere was great. I believe the place was a little bit overhyped for me but worth visiting!

The portion size was appalling for the ice cream when I’ve seen bigger servings online. The servers are cold, did not greet or smile. He made me take the drinks in my hand when I was seated? When he put the order on table on another person’s table. All I could taste of the matcha was bitter milk - before it used to be nice and sweet but now I’m just so disappointed with the Brick Lane branch. Overpriced too for the food.

This place is amazing! Cosy and beautifully decorated right from the entrance, it offers a variety of teas and desserts that are simply delicious (they are very well-balanced, you can taste all the ingredients and they are not overly sugary). I recommend the Hojichalatte (it's not as bitter as matcha and it's nuttier), the matcha basque cheesecake (all the pleasure of a typical basque cheesecake, but with a matcha kick), and the sakura mochi (delicate and flowery). If I lived in London I’d be a regular here!

The customer service is the worst I’ve seen in London. I went there a while ago and the cake and drinks were delicious, but the customer service was terrible. There were no signs or comments stating that glasses could not be taken outside, so I was sitting outside with a friend when an employee suddenly came up to me and dumped the contents of my glass into a paper cup right in front of me. Ta. When I said that I didn't feel comfortable, 🤷♀️she responded like this, and I thought she was a child who hadn't received any training. After visiting their Covent Garden branch (inside Uniqlo shop), I decided to go to their Angel/Islington branch. I visited today with a friend. As expected, there was a queue and super busy. Limited seating, but thankfully, we saw a couple leaving, and my friend secured a table for us. Approx 15 minutes queuing and ordering. We both ordered a matcha flat white and matcha basque cheesecake each. As a matcha enthusiast, I absolutely loved it! The basque cheesecake had a subtle sweetness, and the matcha taste was not as bitter. The matcha flat white does not contain coffee. Instead, it's a stronger matcha flavour, which I personally like. Authentic Japanese teas and delicious cakes. Price wise, it was not cheap so expect to pay more. Service was good. However, they did not monitor/clear some tables. We still had someone else's empty cups and plates on our table, but it was really busy at the same time. I would definitely go back here, but most likely on a weekday to avoid the crowd. I would highly recommend visiting if you love Japanese tea and anything matcha related.

I don't know what the fuss is about. I think the service is only good if the staff is good. In our case, the person dealing with us (an American Asian) could not have bothered to tell us wait for the matcha mille crepe, instead shoved us whatever was ready on the shelf while rolling her eyes. Apparently, that wasn't the practice (that they would normally give you a buzzer so that you'll pick it up once ready). Anyway I found her very rude and yes, the mille crepes arrived shortly after and we ended up being the only ones who missed it. What a waste of time

As somebody who switched to matcha and no longer drinks coffee, I find it incredibly hard to find a good matcha whenever I am traveling and cant make it at home. This was the best matcha Ive had in any restaurant/cafe/tea house outside of Japan. The owner brings all the matcha and tea options directly from Japan and has a selection of incredible Sake and Japanese whiskey to purchase. The decor is very Japanese and cozy and they have a beautiful courtyard garden outside. We ordered the ceremonial matcha and a flat white with soy milk (make sure to ask for unsweetened in all the latte drinks if, like me, thats what you prefer). My matcha (prepared koicha style was served in a classic chawan) and the flat white was frothed for a deliciously creamy drink.

The tea, astonishingly, was priced at £4.50 for a mere '180ml'. Quite extraordinary, considering that earlier in the week, the very same tea we had (500ml), at The Dorchester and The Mandarin Oriental for approximately £4.00 to £5.00. Truly, daylight robbery. A word of advice to some of the staff: If one finds oneself so dreadfully disenchanted with one’s profession, it might be wise to seek alternative paths rather than subject patrons to such disdain. One ought not to project one’s bitterness and gloom onto customers who have merely come to enjoy a pleasant moment. If the role is so disagreeable, perhaps it would be more fitting to simply resign, rather than spread such negativity.

It’s a charming little cafe always packed to the brim with customers. There’s no doubt that they sell the best matcha here and the most divine cakes but sadly it’s let down by their toilets that are in serious need of refurbishment. Each time I’ve been they’ve been filthy with ground in stains on the tiles and toilet, today they were particularly horrendous and left me feeling sick. The staircase that leads to the outside seating area is filthy and looks like they haven’t ever been mopped. So unfortunate because we’re paying a premium to dine here, the least you could do is provide your customers with decent toilets and stairs to walk down into your courtyard which also have a whole lot of separate issues.

This shop surprised me so much. I stayed in Japan on and off for three months last year. I love all kinds of Japanese cakes and desserts. I actually ate in a Japanese-owned dessert shop in London. It felt like I was back in Japan. The chestnut cake has a strong chestnut flavor and is a little on the sweet side, but overall it's OK. It makes me miss Saori, a chestnut specialty store in Kyoto. The black sesame cake is amazing. The aroma of black sesame is not sweet but not greasy. Every bite has the aroma of black sesame. My family likes this cake more than the chestnut cake. The black sesame latte didn't have much flavor. I had known better to try matcha. I didn’t eat the matcha cake this time, I’ll make it up next time. The Angel's store I went to this time is far away from home, and I found that it is also available in Covent Garden. I plan to go there next time.

Came with with my Godzilla of friends Jerome (had to find a Japanese reference that the masses could understand). He had the matcha latte. I had a seat. He had a sakura mochi. I had a bite. He had an affection. I had a direction. He had a complexion. I had an er... erstwhile look through the window. Greenery, as far as the eye can see (provided the eye in question couldn't look very far). Beautiful decor, the matcha was green and tasty (wow!) and the mochi was pink and tasty (what?!). The staff was friendly. The walls were blue. And what more could a man want? Jerome was certainly satisfied.

Very cozy and nice place. Macha latte was delicious. Little bit too small inside but if you find tabel is worth to relax there

Nice selection of Japanese hot drinks but way too expensive. £5 for a matcha latte is definitely not worth it.

Cute little Japanese café/ bar not far from Angel station. Good selections of Japanese tea, cakes and alcohol so there is something for everyone. We had the matcha cheesecake which was lovely but the chestnut cake was average. Will definitely return and try the rest of the cakes

We had a party here for my wifes 60th in Jan 25 using their upstairs room. The team at The Lord Palmerston could not have handled this any better. Super helpful and great attention to detail. Even when some of our guests were running rate arriving the team there held back the food for us, so that we could all eat together and still managed to run a very busy pub downstairs! How they coped I have no idea. The kitchen team must be very on their game as everything was super tasty and 20+ of us not a single complaint, not that I heard anyway. TLPalmerston thank you so much for making our party there memorable, for all the right reasons! We will be back.. thank you so much.. Highly Recommended.

Come here every Saturday and usually have the same breakfast each time. Full English. The bacon is top notch and the rest is pretty damn tasty. The service is amazing and the menu is varied

Bought a slice of Banana Bread today to go and it was extremely dry and hard. I dont think it was fresh. I ended up throwingit away. It was terrible. Banana bread should be soft and moist. It was not worth the £4. I would have come back and told the manager in person but I did not have time.

We came here for a bottomless brunch, during a six nations match. The drinks range was HUGE, food was delicious and Kira who served us was amazing. We never waited for a drink, the cocktails were delicious and she really looked after us. Thank you Kira - it was you who made the experience.

Sandwiches were fine, reasonably tasty but nothing to really write home about. The experience itself was no good - slow service and on one of the coldest days of the year it seemed there was no heating switched on with everyone sat inside wearing their hats and gloves, waiting over an hour for their sandwiches to arrive.
