Kates Plaice in Torridge

We had such a delicious lunch today at Joe’s new cafe in Bideford. We love visiting Morocco, and we were delighted to discover this little gem today after being recommended by a friend. Joe, from Morocco himself, is clearly proud of the food he prepares, and everything was made using herbs and spices he brings back from home when he visits. We started with mint tea, and the aroma took us straight back to the medina in Marrakech. We thoroughly enjoyed the home baked bread alongside the different fresh salads he prepared, and a delightful Mackerel dish. We finished off with a lovely slice of homemade lemon and lime cake. Joe himself was incredibly friendly, and we very much enjoyed chatting with him over lunch. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu, it all sounds so delicious! Was looking forward as reviews were all 5 star Very disappointed. Had to order cannelloni in advance ,wasn’t quite sure why but I did It was disappointingly bland and not offered any Parmesan No menus offered for others and options gabbled at them Only Pinot as a white wine no cider or alcohol free beer Came to coffee no milk , forgotten to get any !!! Was the explanation and had only 1 packet of sugar Sorry won’t be returning ,
