Katana Japanese Cuisine in South Kesteven

We went on a Friday night and had the teppenyaki for dinner for a family of five. We chose several dishes from the deluxe set menu and from the children’s menu. Can I just say Katana is a great and fun spot especially for a birthday or special event. We had Santos as our server/chef. He was excellent and made us all giggle, especially the children. Definitely worth visiting. We left with full bellies and the mains were very delicious, especially the teriyaki salmon.

Great experience. Teppanyaki is always a fun night out and Katana will not disappoint. Friendly and attentive service from the welcome to the goodbye and everything in between. Food was delicious, big portions and our show chef, Santos, was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Easy booking, great service and delicious food. Attentive staff made sure all allergy needs were met. No rushing through. It was a special Birthday and they really made a fuss with singing, cake and rainbow shot! Our Tappen-Yaki chef, Aym, was brilliantly talented and patient with us!

Yet another fantastic meal at Katana. A large family meal with 10 of us sitting around the teppanyaki table. Yam wowed us with his juggling and his cooking. The food was cooked to perfection. Special mention to the front of house staff that are excellent. We come regularly and it’s because of the service being of the highest standard and the food being consistently delicious. Well done team!

What can I say, a fantastic night out with family round the tepanyaki table! I've been to the Spalding branch many times and this is the first time visiting Grantham. The staff were absolutely amazing and the chef Santos was just fantastic! Extremely funny and very talented! Santos kept the whole table engaged whilst cooking up a fantastic meal... If you've never been before, visit as soon as you can!

Our youngest wanted to try somewhere special with his friends for his 12th birthday and chose the Teppanyaki experience. Santos, our chef for the evening made it great fun for the children and the freshly cooked food was wonderful. The service was attentive and they even brought him a special dessert to celebrate his special day, which made him feel very grownup. We would highly recommend it for a nice change of cuisine.

My Wife, Brother and Sister in Law went for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We sat at the Teppanyaki table and watched the :show". The Chef, M, was great and the food was excellent. We shared steak, chicken, duck, calamari and scallops served with an assortment of sauces. Great food and excellent service, we strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Japanese food.

Excellent service and a fantastic experience at Katana Grantham for a large family gathering. We have been before and as usual they didn’t disappoint. M our host was superb and also prepared the meal taking care of the groups different allergies without batting an eyelid whilst putting on a show and nothing was too much trouble. We’ll be back and thank you for a wonderful evening and meal.

We had a lovely evening here having tried the teppanyaki. We had starters first and then our chef Em came over to introduce himself and cook our orders. We went with friends, 3 families in total, around the hot grill. Rick was our chef on the night and he was very entertaining especially when it came to the toss and catch game with the omelette. It was a brilliant night out for both adults and kids and we had such a laugh. Thanks again for a night to remember.

What a find! We come to Grantham annually and eating out hasn’t always been a highlight but Katana has changed that! Excellent service with fresh and delicious food in huge portions - such a treat. Would highly recommend.

On a family celebratory evening five of us were booked in for a Teppanyaki show meal. The first thing I would say, is that do book well in advance, as in my view, booking really is necessary for the 'show' cooking, ...not the normal table restaurant, where a walk in is fine. We arrived a little early, and were initially shown into the 'takeaway' lounge, which was very pleasant and comfortable. After less than five minutes our table was ready and we sat down. I would suggest that your 'principle' guests are sat in the middle of the cooking area to gain the very best enjoyment. Menus were brought, and explained if required, although the process is very straight forward. We choose the listed 'cocktails' for a start, as they are reasonably priced, and look super when delivered. Whilst cocktails are being drunk guests can choose their meals, and assistance is always to hand. Sauces do not need to be chosen until the meal is being cooked. Once the menu is chosen, a clever wheeled trolley arrives with all the meals ready for cooking. Our Chef for this evening was , I am sure he said his name was 'M' and he was simply delightful, utiilising tricks with a lovely commentary. His care and attention to the cooked food was simply superb, with everything being checked for correct cooking before being served. A simply wonderful evening, full of fun with exceptional food, and the best bit of all, was that there was no after-taste of oils or food the next day. Would we return, most certainly. For a bit of a guide, five cocktails, then drinks with the meal which included a bottle of wine, plus five full meals came to about £240.00. I condsider it very good value.

We really loved it here! We came here for our 30th anniversary, and the staff we so welcoming and friendly, the service was great! The food was delicious, and cooked perfectly, and we were really entertained watching the tepinyaki chefs cooking at the tables, and entertaining them with their amazing skills, We will be returning shortly to treat our grandson to wagyu steak meal, thank you for an amazing night !
