Not sure where to start in my praise of this pub. The food was delicious, full of flavour and freshly cooked. The staff were very pleasant, relaxed, happy and keen to provide excellent service. The prices were reasonable in fact very good for the standard of food we recieved. No hesitation in giving 5 stars, I'd rate it higher if I could.

My daughter and son had steaks , cooked to perfection one rump and one t bone. Lovely hot and fresh food. I would highly recommend this fabulous place to enjoy and relax great service and dining. We stayed in the cottage attached to the which was very clean and comfortable. I had the fish and chips which was a generous portion and my wife had a very good veggie curry from the specials board. The real ales were faultless (London Pride and Tribute). Dog friendly and a cat slept on the seat next to me throughout our meal.

Been many times for the famous Thursday night steak offer (book at least 2 weeks in advance). Makes a meal out affordable and all whilst eating delicious food. The onion rings are amazing! The staff are helpful and the lady that says “darling” a lot, is a darling herself :) really chatty and down for having a laugh! Could do with some peas with the steak offer maybe offer a tomato or peas?! Thoroughly recommend… we haven’t tried anything else on the menu as we always go for steak night!

This place is amazing! The food is fantastic never had a bad meal! Our friends once did and they refunded them and stopped serving the dish! Now not many places would give your money back! The staff are so friendly and dii ok anything for you! Make sure to book this place with it being so popular!👌

We stayed in the cottage next door & ate at the pub twice. The food is exceptional with huge portions & an extensive menu. We used the cottage whilst moving back to the area & our hosts at the Crown & Anchor went above & beyond to help us out.

First time visiting the pub/restaurant and it will not be the last! It has a real honest, warm welcome from the staff. The service is excellent and staff attending the tables so polite and ask if everything all right and it wasn't over the top like other places. Food is plentiful and you definitely would not go home hungry. the beer battered prawn starter was delicious and meaty. You would not be disappointed with any part of your visit. 5 stars across the board for this pub and well deserved.

Loved our stay here. The food and staff in the pub are excellent, with quick service but a real personal touch. We stayed at the Cottage - attached to the pub garden and can't recommend it enough. Everything was perfect!

So we saw reviews on fb and decided on a thursday lunchtime visit. I had one of their signature burgers which was excellent and my wife had the gammon which she thoroughly enjoyed. Afterwards we were too full for sweets but decided to share one just to see what they were like. We had a cherry bakewell cheesecake which was delicious. Overall a real gem of a place which we look forwards to trying again in the near future. Highly recommended 👌

we went for a family meal to celebrate birthdays and wedding anniversary it was the first time we have been as three times before when we wanted to go they were full my God it was worth the wait, the starters ,main courses, and deserts were very tasty. we will certainly be going back

I have been in the Crown and Anchor for One Night. It was a lovley room and a really good BBQ dinner. Very nice and frindly staff. 100% recommended!

We have had great lunchtime meals here a couple of times. The standard menu seems a bit limited, but there are daily specials. Clearly a popular venue, but in spite of being busy service has been good, and the prices are not bad. Will be back.

Great food and friendly service but we were slightly put off by mammoth portions. My starter was pretty large and the main was huge. Good value though

What a fabulous Pub ! We popped in on Saturday 11th May for the first time in several years . The new owners ( new since 2020 ) have absolutely transformed the whole experience. Friendly, helpful and engaging . The food was literally the best food we’d had in a restaurant for a very long time ! Generous portions and delicious. ! Lovely , we live fairly locally so will be back !

Came down for Steak Night.. had the bacon cheese skins for starter then a out of this world steak followed by a cheesecake.. beautiful work again and thank you

Visited with friends one Saturday evening. Two of us had the chicken, one the curry and one the fish and chips. Could not fault any of it, it was all delicious and served by very friendly, helpful staff.

I went last Friday and had the 16oz gammon steak. And it was absolutely perfectly cooked good value for money and the staff are very friendly with great service. Very highly recommended. A must visit. Thank-you I will going back.

Celebrating an 80th Birthday with family, staff were amazing and the food was outstanding. Very accommodating for the youngest family member. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be back again soon! 👏👏👏

Booked a mid-week lunch for four a couple of days before we wished to go, and although we did this using their telephone booking system, we failed to get a response. However, a telephone call sufficed. On a mid-week lunchtime, the pub was quiet, but our welcome was warm and the menus and 'Specials Board', were excellent with an enormous choice, and some really different offerings. Staff were lovely and our food offerings arrived in a timely manner, and were simply first class. Perhaps not the cheapest of places to eat, BUT, the quality of food, and the portion sizes make up for all of that, and in my view, this really is a very special pub, and well worth seeking out. Drink prices are actually fine and the house wine of very accepatable quality. If you go once, you will return.

Called on the off chance on a Tuesday lunchtime. Not certain from a previous review about drinks prices, not cheap but reasonable compared with other establishments I have been to, pint of Amstel £4.95 and a large wine £7.70. My wife had the rump at £18.95, not the best she has had, slightly fatty, but still good - the dogs enjoyed the off cuts!! I had the hunters burger @ £15.95, very nice indeed. Lovely staff, good atmosphere and good food, recommended.

Had a wonderful meal on a Tuesday evening place was very busy and the food was so good we had full ribs and fish and chips and everything was spot on, highly recommended can't wait to go again 😋

Visited this friendly well kept pub on a Saturday lunchtime. The pub has a welcoming atmosphere. Our meals were well presented, and were very satisfying. The staff were warm and staff.

Recently enjoyed an excellent meal at the crown and anchor. Had the rack of ribs as a main and stick toffee pudding for dessert, both of which were amazing. Will definitely be returning.

Have visited the crown and anchor on many occasions and have never been disappointed. Food is always a high standard and served on hot plates. They change the menus monthly so there is always something new to try. Staff are always friendly and engaging and it's a nice touch that they recognise you and make conversation. This is definitely a place to try if you are in the area. Can't wait for our next visit

Wow what a great little find this place is very pleasant staff and the food was was to die for we as a family eat out in a lot of top restaurants and this is one of the best we have been could not fault anything at all we shall definitely be returning here

myself and 2 friends went to the Crown and Anchor on Saturday 17th Feb as I'd seen some good reviews and I was disappointed as we found the drinks quite expensive and the main course was extremely disappointing, 2 of the party had a starter which was very good which raised our hopes for the main course, then for the mains 1 member of our party had the half rack of ribs which she was very happy with but myself and my other friend had the mixed grill which considering It was £24.95p we were very disappointed as everything on the plate except the chips were tepid at best and when this was mentioned to the waitress she offered to heat them up which considering the price and the fact the other member of the party would have finished their meal before we got the mixed grills back we declined and also all they would have done was put the food In a microwave then my friend ordered the churro's for dessert the batter In the center of the churro's wasn't cooked properly so overall we weren't very Impressed and we won't be returning.

Having visited here before we booked a table for a birthday meal. We all had drinks starters and mains. Starters were good and mains large and reasonable. A side was forgot however wasn’t too much of an issue. Unfortunately my own main was inedible as it was coated in honey and had solidified. I was unable to eat this and explained this quietly when food was collected. Shortly after I was approached an a lady explained to me how pork belly should be and expressed it was fine. When collecting the food I demonstrated how hard the pork in honey was however I was completely insulted to have the meal explained to me. We dine out more than most and have eaten at some top restaurants and as a grown adult I was more than understanding of how pork belly ‘should be cooked’. I came away feeling embarrassed and outrageously insulted by the staff member who failed to acknowledge an issue and insist the £16 starter was more than fine. Our table would have spent a substantial sum of money on food and drink so this is a real shame to have been treat this way. Customer service goes a long way and this was a huge let down.

Stayed for 1 night in their attached cottage. Fantastic sums it up 👍. Everything was spot on. Decor, facilities, comfort,all 1st class. If you're in the area and need a stop over, you must try this place. Cost was very affordable and what better to have a pub 🍻 next door. Brilliant 😀

You will always receive a warm welcome and the food is second to none.

One of our favourite places to eat. Food is great and plentiful, served with in a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. The portions are very large so be warned. Whilst two of us opted for the Steak pie, our son decided to try to master the Quadzilla which is a huge burger you need to finish in 30 mins. he did it (just) but couldn't find space to drink his free pint. Thanks for a great meal and service.

We’ve been here a few times now with family for evening meal and Sunday lunch, it has been delicious every time. Plenty of food too and wonderful friendly staff. We will continue to visit.

The food was ok. Staff didn't seem to have a clue about anything. If you asked anyone anything they would have to go and gind out from somebody else.

Great food only had to send one meal back but was replaced no problem. Only thing I would say is it felt like we were being rushed. My partner was still eating his main course but still came over to ask if he was finished when he clearly hadn't which then made him feel like he needed to rush.

We visited for a family meal - the first time we've all been able to meet up in almost a year, so it had to be a good venue. Thankfully, the crown and anchor was perfect. A warm welcome from staff, a great selection on the menu and specials board and to top it off - absolutely amazing food! Service was prompt and efficient. A++

Fab time spent even the dog was happy with his treat. Food cooked just how we like it and of a standard to be very impressed. Good selection of beer and wine, what's not to like! Family run and it shows. Thank you for a great time we will see you soon... Will, Nikki and Rhubarb...

We had a lovely 25th wedding anniversary meal with family at this lovely country pub .The staff are so friendly and the meals we had was fantastic .I can honestly say out of all of the country pubs I've been to over my many years this pub is the best I've been to .It's so friendly and the food is out of this world .Thankyou x

What a lovely experience from start to finish, warm welcome, very friendly staff, roaring fire and excellent choice of menu. Service and food was brilliant, good quality, well cooked and pipping hot, would highly recommend to anyone. Will be visiting again.

Came here for Sunday roast. Opted for the beef and pork duo which is a little more expensive. You get plenty of food - three slices of two meats, as well as very nice seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese (not a fan), large homemade Yorkie, cabbage (not a fan), and gravy, plus some spot-on crackling. It was all cooked really nicely. My only criticism of the food was that the potatoes were not of a variety that I prefer - but that's down to me, and the pork was a little dry. Overall though, a really good Sunday roast and I can understand where it gets its good reputation from. The bar staff are prompt and friendly. The pub itself could do with a bit more atmosphere and ambience - possibly down to the time of day though.

Fantastic little pub. Had a family meal for my husbands 50th birthday. The staff put out my decorations and followed all of my requests. All staff were lovely and friendly and the food was delicious. First time going but it won't be the last, highly recommend.

Called here to meet up with my website designer Yasmine Baxter and had lunchtime meal of pork cutlet WOW it's absolutely delicious well presented large chop and the wholegrain mustard sauce perfect It was that tasty I didn't want it to end !! Visited twice in the last two weeks - first for their Thursday night Steak night - 2 for £30 - excellent value 12oz steaks with lots of extras and a drink each. Then called in there for lunch today with the dog. Both great experiences, very welcoming attentive staff and good value for money even had my favourite gin! Would definitely recommend them if you are local or visiting the area.

Great food and brilliant service

Only recently started to frequent this local pub, and it is a hidden gem in Lincolnshire! The food quality, service and staff is second to none. Mid-week and Sunday menus are extensive, and the food is simply amazing and excellent value. Sunday roasts are another thing! The staff are absolutely lovely and friendly too. If Carlsberg did great food pubs this is right up there!! 100% recommended.

Wow! These guys know how to do meat!! Our first visit I shared the Smoking Board with my partner- Phenomenal! The ribs were absolutely perfect, and my partner's favourite was the chicken. Our second visit I opted for the cannon of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes from the specials board, which was also divine! We cannot wait for out third visit next month!
