As an ex truck driver, I appreciate a decent bacon & egg cob, and I wasn't disappointed at Karen's. Very good size bap, and plenty of filling all well cooked. Lorries might struggle to get into the layby, but it's ideal and off road for cars and vans. One warning though. If the hospital start to charge for parking, those that work there tend to fill the layby.

Myself and my partner was visiting a family member in the hospital and due to the over-priced car park charges we decided to park in the lay-bay where this amazing food cabin was, this was our first time here. And wow just amazing hot hearty food and nice to have a nice honest chat. The knife and forks are amazing too when you see them you will get what I mean. Thanks again Karen x

Having visited the hospital, we spotted a catering van on the way out by the layby. Having skipped breakfast this was a welcomed site. We placed our order with Karen who was welcoming and friendly, our eggs and bacon baps were cooked to our liking, with or without butter and bacon rind, plus three choices for how the eggs should be cooked. Tea with semi skimmed or full fat.Nothing was too much to ensure she totally pleased her clients If only the council could sort out the parking so that she may gain more clients. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you Karen for brightening our day.

Top value for money. Best fast food in Chesterfield. Spotted Karen's kabin in the lay-by across from hospital and I have to say I will definitely be back 100% if you haven't been yet it is a must.

This little burger van is a must stop for me, everytime in Chesterfield when working at the hospital, I visit this van it sits in the layby opposite the hospital. Quality food every time, made to order food which is better as its not been sitting around getting cold. Staff super friendly and we alway's have a good chat. Best value in and around Chesterfield. Couldn't recommend enough.

Came out of the Royal Hospital needing a coffee andf bite to eat - gave uo on the long queue in the hospital coffee bar. Had parked my car on the lay-by opposite the hospital so was drwn to the van on the layby entrance. Nothing cooking as they were making to order that afternoon so enjoyed a pleasant coffee while waiting (not long) for my cheeseburger. During the wait I had a really pleasant conversation with the ladies. Very friendly service with a right tasty burger. Just what I needed. (Good value too!)
