K Lee in Halton

Ordered food it came quickly but the food was awful. Soup had a very weird taste to it, salt and pepper chicken was bland and the overall taste of the food was not very nice. Returned it and got our money back. Won't be going back which is a shame as we have always been happy with the food from there.

Food was absolutely delicious, prawn toast and bbq spare ribs were beyond incredible! Ordered a pick up and it was 10 mins late, but I can live with that if the food is good and it definitely was! The place was heaving, clearly very popular!

Hands down the best chippy I've been. Food Is always cooke to perfection and the food is always nice. I've been short of chnage on some occasions and have been let off. Staff are friendly and nice price for what you get. Highly recommended!

First time for months big improvement our food was 5mins. early hot and very good quality. The prawn toast was best ever tasted better than the C.D. in Frodsham followed by sweet & sour king prawns enough for 2 really enjoyed .

Used to be the best chippy in Runcorn. Sadly not anymore. Has been my families go to for years however the last 3 times it was terrible. Hair in the food the price and slight tummy upsets. The end was when I got my fave bbq spare ribs and the sauce was a water flavourless light coloured liquid. The ribs used to have a thick red tasty sauce that stained your fingers for days! All that and not alot for high prices. Time to move on to another chippy Langy road it is gor us now. Shame.

Ordered food online to be delivered, was given a time and waited but nothing turned up. About 45 minutes after the expected delivery time had passed we called up to see where it was. Was just told it would be with us shortly. After about another half hour the food turned up. The delivery charge online was £2.50. On the receipt the printed £2.50 delivery charge was crossed out and in biro £3.50 was written. We do live a bit further away and if it had said online that it was £3.50 then wouldn’t have been an issue. This should be sorted out because I don’t know if it’s the delivery guy trying to do me out of a pound. Not bothered about a pound but I am bothered about someone trying to pull a fast one irrespective of the amount, it rubs me up the wrong way and puts a dampener on things. The food itself was only lukewarm which is not too much of a problem as the meals can be heated in the microwave. The chips however were terrible, they were wrinkled, soggy, undercooked and had a hard chewy texture a bit like cardboard. Chips once gone cold are not nice reheated. I’m guessing they send out a load of orders at the same time and my food has probably been sat in the bag for over an hour and half. This was the time before last. The last time we ordered we were at my daughters which is much closer to the shop. I didn’t want to mess about with plates so I ordered a steak dinner. Haven’t had a steak dinner from a chip shop for many years. I remembered nice thick onion gravy and plenty of peas. This was nothing like what I remembered them to be. The so called gravy was more like brown water, like an oxo mixed in a cup with water. It was all over the paper as it had leaked. The paper was wet and brown but nothing like gravy. There was no sign of gravy in the carton the food was just wet. The steak was actually cooked nice but that’s the only positive thing I can say about it. The quality of take away food is falling drastically and I’m guessing it’s because people are accepting whatever rubbish is sent to them. MacDonald’s food is cold by within a few minutes so by the time it gets to you house it’s already gone cold and spoiled but people accept this. The shops know you’re expecting cold food so send out a load of meals at the same time

Visited the area at weekend, Tried this place... impressive food. Delivered quickly and efficiently. No complaints here.

Phoned them hard to tell them order. Kept interrupting me. Said would be about an hour. Phoned 1 hour 5 later told me he said he said one to one half hours. Explained he did not. He said food was being prepared then. Waited another 30 mi d. Food arrived sweet sour chicken dry and inedible. Plus spend over £40 says get prawn crackers and mini veg rolls. We did only got crackers Going to change where we order from as was let down last tune but gave another chance not anymore.

On a recommendation decided to place an order whilst at work on a night shift. Didn't bother to bring any food with me as I knew I was ordering a delivery.Made an order 2 hrs before closing on the website, they acknowledged and accepted it. Sat like an idiot waiting, total no show!! Obviously they had closed for the night and just didn't have the decency to email or call to say they had forgotten me. Won't order again!

Ordered a delivery on phone. I ordered beef in black bean sauce but i got a load of noodles with 2 bits of meat didnt even taste like beef. Chips disgusting looked white. Never order from here again!!!!

I have to say that if you get served by John he has the patience of a saint, doesn't rush you if you're undecided and even recommends alternative choices ! & his recommendations have been very good as is the food.

I decided to try K Lees again after a poor experience 3 years ago . No change - the chips are still the poorest specimens in the area. I took a photo of what K Lees are serving up as “chips”— they are bits and pieces - not nice at all .. i took a photo of them I was that disappointed .. K Lee needs to up his game .. i suppose their main customers are drunks and will eat anything .. they NEED to improve .. i gave 2 stars as the servers were happy . My 6.200 followers on here know my reviews are unbiased and I have no connection with K Lees at all.

Used to be really good however under new ownership, staff not as good as the old staff, prices have gone up, food quality gone down.

This used to be the best chippy in Runcorn before it was taken over by new owners! The man on the phone hasn’t got a clue, repeats back the order 8 times before he gets it right! Also very abrupt when you enter the chippy. When ordering a pick up they tell you 30 mins when you get there they haven’t even started cooking the meal until you get there, leaving another 20 minutes waiting time!

Ordered over the phone and collected the food from the shop.Plenty of chips but far to much batter for my liking on the fish.Overall, pretty average fish and chips

We use this chip shop regularly, having tried every one in Runcorn. This is by far the best. The chips are well cooked and not a soggy mess, and the fish is a really good size and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this chip shop.

The food was exeptional and they person on the phone was very polite. The value of the meal was also very good. Overall the takeaway was a 10/10. Highly recommended.

If you love bean sprouts and love chop suey rolls like I do - this is the place to come! Order a fat one for £3.50. It's the biggest and best money can buy. You need two hands to hold it. So tasty with prawns bean sprouts char sui pork and the balance of seasoning is just right. Fabulously crispy and mind now - they are HOT! Yum I want another one.

This used to be consistently the best chippy in Runcorn, but seems to have become slack with their practices lately. Their chinese meals are good and filling generally but every time I order anything from the fryers lately I'm disappointed. This time I tried a fish dinner.The most damning thing, is that the menu claims the fish is cod. It is most certainly NOT cod, it is coley - a cheaper alternative. Generally I wouldn't mind as coley is a nice fish, but it wasn't even a decent fillet of coley. I was a chef for many years - I know the difference between cod and coley, and it was coley. It was a thin fillet that had been folded in half to make it appear bigger. It didn't achieve that effect though - it just meant that hot fat seeped betwen the sides as it was totally overcooked, meaning that only about 40% was edible in the end. My plate ended up covered in cremated slivers of inedible fish and chunks of burnt batter. It's a shame as the last time I had a fish from them it WAS cod and it was really good.Their chips used to be delicious, but these were distinctly average. They were freshly cooked at least though. Unfortunately, average though they were - they were the best part of the meal. It was accompanied by a carton that turned out to be about a third full of lukewarm peas. I noticed the Bain - Marie ( peas / curry / gravy warmer ) was being cleaned, so I imagine they were scooped from a container in the kitchen and slopped into the cup without any attempt to heat them up whatsoever. I'd also asked for small chips and for the lady to not include the onion gravy with the meal, but even so she still managed to charge me 40p more than the price on the menu, but I didn't count my change until I got home so I couldn't do anything at the time.Finally - when I went to pay with my card, the lady looked at me with horror and practically shouted 'cash only!'. I had to leave my meal there while I went to the bank and withdrew £10. When I tried to make a bit of polite conversation about it, I was ignored. I paid and took my change with no thanks.Basically It seemed like I was an inconvenience, walking in and buying food when they were trying to clean up and chat to each other in chinese, so they gave me the minimum effort and got rid of me. Not the way you want to be made to feel when you are buying their food.I stress again though - I have had excellent meals from K Lee in the past. I hope they sort out the problems they seem to be having, but personally I won't be going back for a while.

We go to this local chippy for the Singapore Chow Mein. At £6.90 it is a really good value meal full of meats, vegetables, prawns and noodles in a great curry dressing. The staff are friendly and efficient and need to be with the number of customers they have to serve. As well as an extensive Chinese menu they do the usual (large) fish, huge fish cakes much loved by my grandson and they do potato scallops too. Oh yes and I like their curry sauce.

Called this evening asked for sweet and sour chicken not battered and a lightly battered fish and chips. On arriving home found the chicken was battered and the fish soggy and more dark fish rather than white. Needless to say we will not be going again.

Utter garbage, which is a shame as this used to be one of the best take aways going. When you spend over £20 and you don't enjoy any of the dishes or shows just how bad take away food can be. Won't be using again

Every meal we have had as a home delivery has been fast and piping hot any given night of the week we as a family have different tastes and they cater perfectly for us and the food is really tasty and well portioned courteous staff and delivery drivers.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else best place around for miles. It’s always busy but you can phone in your order ahead

Went in here and ordered a few different items for a family of six. There were so many hands messing about doing the order, out of sight, that we didn't realise till we got home that they messed up our order and missed off a bag of chips! So if you're ordering a lot, make sure you've been given everything before you leave because they would have charged you for it!

Very good value and varied fish is excellent Chinese is very tasty and a great selection of different food

A full basket of cold chips put back into the fry vat for several more minutes so when they emerge they are dark in colour, overcooked, extremely crispy and dripping with oil and grease, they then proceed to do the same with mine and another customers fish right infront of us, now i know why my food has arrived like this for delivery many times and why i have had stomach cramps on several occasions, food dripping in grease an oil because they cook large amounts for rush hours and then just dip them back into the vat to reheat them, watch when you go in, they do it on the sly, this place has gone down hill drastically, the service, the management and the food quality, ive also had salt and pepper chicken turn up hard and rubbery on several occasions so im guessing they do the same with this!, Do not waste your time with this place, money money money money is all they care about its a shocking place.

Telephone ordered with trepidation as we never seem to get the correct or full order. This time was no exception. Ordered two fried rice and one boiled. Yes you guessed it there were 3 boiled and no fried.The rest of the order was correct and hot. The timing of ten minutes for us to collect was way off. My so waited 15 minutes before setting off and they still had not completed the meal order. If it wasn’t for the fact that we all love their lemon chicken I think we would be looking for a new local Chinese take away.

Ordered B'bcue spare ribs, and out of the whole box, had 3 ribs that was edible. The rest was black, burnt, and hard. Tried ringing them, but no answer, obviously my No, was showing on their phone. Rang again the next night, and was told I had to order the same again, in order to get 3 ribs extra. The manager as she put it, that was all she could do. Customer service goes a long way, obviously she needs to train on that. Wouldn't mind, but the ribs cost the same as a meal. Totally disgusting how the so called manager spoke to me.

Ordered a mixed vegetable curry with fried rice and large chips. When I reached my home I plated up to discover I had been given a special curry containing meat. As a vegetarian I was horrified. Luckily I had only spooned a little of the curry so I was able to return the curry to the takeaway. It’s about a three mile journey each time.

I used to love ordering from here. Stopped by to order 2 potato scallops. I was going to donate one to homeless man sat outside. The scallops were sat, keeping warm in the hot test that you see when you walk in. Aside from the fact they're now charging 60p for a piece of fried potatoe (bearing In mind it's 20p elsewhere), I ordered 2 and stood waiting for 5 minutes while they served customer after customer who came after me. Even then, nobody bothered to acknowledge my order and i asked for a refund which was promptly granted. If only they could be that quick with the food, theydt have had another's loyal customer. STAY AWAY!!

If you like chop suey rolls this is the place to go for them, plenty of meat and prawns. Thin crispy filo pastry and only cooked when ordered

The food from this chippy is usually, hot, fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable. Usually get served pretty quickly in here, especially compared to some other Chinese takeaways in the area.

This is by far the best chippy in Runcorn, the food is good always comes hot and it’s delicious. Not fussed on the delivery charge but apart from that only fault is that I don’t think it’s open as much! I wish the opening hours were a bit more flexible.

Decent chippy, always busy, always good portions. Not tried much on the Chinese side of it, as we always come at lunch during Work, but the fish and chips etc can't be faulted.

This place used to be a great place to get a Chinese meal but recently it's really gone down in my estimation. Go a bit further up the road to China Express if you don't want to be disappointed.

He ido a K Lee's en muchas ocasiones como mi familia disfruta de la comida, que no me puedo quejar. Pero después de hoy no vamos a este establecimiento ya que estoy suponiendo es el jefe, hablaba a su miembro del personal en una forma agresiva y poco profesional ante los clientes y me acusó de ser un racista cuando defendió el muchacho.

Bog standard Chinese chip shop/take away. Always consistent, always busy, food is acceptable. Massive portions (in my opinion). Chips are always ok, I hate really greasy and undercooked chips and I always think K Lees are alright! Will continue to visit when necessary.....(that's when I'm too lazy to cook)!

Busy chippy that also does Chinese meals. On the one hand it's not the best in the area, on the other hand I've never had a bad meal in 25 years. A safe choice but doesn't stand out from the crowd.

This is our favourite Chinese takeway. We live in Widnes but travel over to collect our meal! It is incredibly popular and the food is really good with an excellent range. Highly recommend it.

Called here for some Fish and Chips as we were driving through Runcorn Old Town. We had parked near this Chinese / Fish & Chip Shop many times and seen how extremely busy it was, and thought that it must be good as it seemed to be so popular. We were correct. The place was packed, but was excellently staffed. We didn't have to wait very long at all as everyone was very efficient. The food was excellent and good size portions. We will definitely be going back and will try the Chinese menu next time.

Great food to share with friends and family. Beware huge portions. You will have a lot of waste or a very good breakfast if your order too much. Great service either in the shop or via home delivery. Honest about delivery times when they are busy so you can manage the expectations of your family and friends.

Nice varied menu, even the pickiest of person should be able to find something they might want. Portions are on the large size so bare this in mind when ordering and expect to have leftovers for the next day. Chip portions are especially big. Set meals are generous also, we ordered the set banquet for two and we could have fed about five we reckoned, lots of food when you order from these. Delivery can be a bit hit and miss with the amount of time you have to wait, when you are starving it can feel like an eternity.

Been having take chinese food from here sonce it opened at least 15 years ago we order bi monthly and can honestly say its the best chinese meals we ever have. Quality and quantity served with a friendly smile or delivered promptly. Highly recommend.

Service is pretty quick. Food is good. This chippy has plenty of custom - which shows that the food is good. Chips portions are huge. Curry beef and curry char sui are our favourites.

Eaten here a few times although always busy. Has Chinese and English meals although this did struggle with hygiene ratings so put me off for a while. I have recently been and the food was good and a good menu to choose from.

By far the best chippy in Runcorn, beats Dolphin any day! The food is gorgeous and the portions are massive.

Have used this place a couple of time, food has always been good. But tonight their customer service and attitude have been awful which has really put us off using this establishment, and will be sure to pass this on to my many family and friends that also use k.lee's.We ordered our food, was told 15 minutes to pick up, that's great. My partner collected the order which was read out correct to him. Got home, opened the bag to find it was the completely wrong order. Again, this is not a problem as people make mistakes. So we phoned k.lee's and explained, they were rude, asked us can't we just make do with what we were given, to which our answer was no. We asked if they could come and swap the order to our home as it was not our mistake, to which we got a no and them trying to blame us for the wrong food in the bag. Very angry and disgusted at the response, obviously the customer is always right is not a motto they use and don't wish to have repeat custom. Always have a very upset and hungry 4 year old.

this is probably one of the better chinese chip shops in the town for quality of food but unfortunately it's tainted by the attitude of the staff. You have no time to browse the menu as the staff are screaming to take your order. Once your food is ready and they shout back your order you better step forward straight away or you'll be screamed at again. Once you're at the counter the staff are beyond rude, its bordering on aggressive, you are honestly made to feel as though they are doing you a massive favour and you are 'putting' on them by using their business. I have also phoned an order through and it is the same, god forbid you are unsure of the name of the dish or you should change your mind. Overall the food is nice but the customer service is terrifying!

Handy position, right in town. Good chips and fast service, wide range of Chinese dishes and delivers ( for a pound I think?).

Hit and miss with this one. We always ask for the fish to be cooked fresh from the fridge but couldn't say it always tasted fresh! We used to use it relatively regular but now very rarely, because it's not always 'fresh'

Upon entering and looking at the menu i heard an awfulScreech of 'what ya want??!!!!' I spun of my heel, undecided as it had only been 3 seconds since i entered... 'Errr...hmmm' the pressure intensified to make my choice 'A said what ya want' said the small oriental lady from behind the counter... 'Err salt n pepper chips'... She sprinted out into the back carrying a portion of chips returning to the counter within seconds... 'Three pound please'- portion was placed into my hand and i was directed to the door.Food- tastyPrices- reasonableService- very quick- quickest on earth although a little curt- will go again as i'm such a fan of this hard working lady.

We have just returned from oulton park, i just didn't feeI like cooking ,i telephoned k lee's at 5:40pm to order a banquet,to pick up I thought I would be told it will take about 45 minutes, but no I was told it would ready by 5:55pm.It was ready on time.Excellent food and excellent service.

For some reason this place seems to be the most popular in town. Having said that the standard of takeaways in the town is abysmal. Very poor quality ingredients = bad meals. Service is fast. Worst thing on the menu by far is the fish. Overpriced too.
