A master class in excellent service from the moment we walked through the door, food was utterly delicious, up there with the best meals I have ever had the pleasure to eat. So many beautifully balanced flavours dancing a whirl around the fresh produce. If there were more than 5 stars I would have given them!

Absolutely amazing food and super friendly and quick service! Be sure to make a reservation in advance, it's so good it's always busy!

Absolutely amazing place. Amazing atmosphere, absolutely lovely staff. So kind and welcoming. The food is impeccable. I’ve been lucky enough to dine in a Michelin star restaurant in the past, but their lamb dish is the best I’ve ever had hands down. 100% worth a visit but remember to book. Amazing.

Great restaurant. Best in Grasmere. The food was very different and very well prepared. Lots to try. Many places like this have tiny portions when the food is so well prepared, but not the jumble room. We were totally stuffed after 3 courses. Excellent cocktails to accompany dinner too. The staff who worked there were lovely and very knowledgeable, they all seemed like they loved their jobs. We will be back

We've eaten at some fantastic restaurants around the world but agreed this is in our top 5 foodie experiences. The menu is epic and each plate is served with care and attention. A restaurant also needs emotion and atmosphere, which this place also has in bucket loads. The staff are a delight and all super keen to make your meal an occasion.

So we had heard great reviews about the place which led us there. Food was really good however service and attitude of the people there was very bad. We had gotten a 9:30 PM table reservation and the last order on the board outside the restaurant said “11:15 ish”. We ordered a 2 main course meals at 9:30 thinking that we could order more later. However, they denied us main course items at 10:15 saying that the kitchen is closed (without any last order intimation). Since we were hungry, we requested if they could accommodate us, to which they said we can order desserts. (?!?!?!?) Would recommend to go here only for the food. Of you expect good service, avoid the place.

5 stars all the way. The service was first class, the food was delicious, and the ambience was warm, welcoming, and delightful. The only negative is when I rang to book a table I wasn’t told we only had it for two hours. Sadly we felt somewhat rushed although we’ve booked again to dine here once more before the end of our holidays. We’re looking forward to returning.

One of our all-time favourite meals. Squeezed us in on the day for a early sitting. So much variety on the menu it was difficult to make any decisions but we loved everything we ordered. Very warm welcome and clearly passionate about their craft which came across in the flavours. Looking forward to coming back on our next visit.

Went here with my partner last night and was so impressed with everything!! The team there are so incredibly inviting, friendly and hospitable. The specials we had to start were insane, the pasta and especially the lamb koftas! So tasty. The salmon curry was also 10/10, lovely big prawns too! If only we didn’t live 5hrs away, we would be regulars!

Finally managed to get a table at the jumble rooms. Although we visit Grasmere at least twice a year or more, the jumble rooms is always booked up, which, of course, is excellent for their business. It is before COVID the last time we went and the food was still just as amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was any trouble. It is a family run business and everything is home made. So pleased we got in as it was the best meal of our break in Grasmere. Just wish we lived nearer! Hope to see you again soon keep up the good work.

Late booking due to looking at the reviews and thought that it was a necessary visit. We weren’t disappointed, Megan showed us to the table and Emily looked after us as well as all the other customers. Service was exceptional from all the staff and as for the food WOW!!!! Wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was better than some of the Michelin star restaurants we have visited. This restaurant is gem, that needs to be discovered, if you’re visiting the Lakes, namely Grasmere. Well done to Emily, staff and most importantly mum and dad. They have made this business, what it is. Five star amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ visiting from the Isle of Man 🇮🇲

Best two evening meals I have ever eaten in my life. Michelin quality food and wine, served by the most wonderful team in an amazingly laid back and relaxed building. This is a destination in its own right and will be the main reason I will return to the Lakes in the future. Do not tell anyone, they will all want to go.

The chef is an unhinged genius. Every dish reads like a fever dream of clashing flavours spanning multiple countries - but it works! Everything I ate was absolutely perfect and like nothing I've eaten anywhere else. I need to mention the service too, the man who served our table was great - friendly, personable and polite. I can't recommend this place highly enough, I had a wonderful evening.

Fabulous restaurant! Visited for my birthday last night. Warm welcome, served by a lovely passionate lady who knew the menu so well! The food was delicious. The special cocktail was excellent too. Nice to see such a wonderful menu...so difficult to choose. Thank you. We will return.

Excellent food with great service. Small restaurant but definitely the best I have been to in Grasmere and it is many years since I have enjoyed a meal as much anywhere in the Lake District. We had the special starters. Crostini were wonderful and the starter portion tortelloni was excellent. My wife had hake which was perfectly cooked and I had the lamb which was great. And both were decent sized portions (unlike so many so called fancy restaurants). No hesitation in recommending.

I don’t want to give a fabulous review as I want to keep it as a secret. A gorgeous restaurant, with a superb menu and impeccable customer service. I love it every time I go. Wish I lived nearby

If you're in the area you need to go here!! We went twice during our stay it was so good. Food is amazing as are the staff! Shout out to Dylan (hope I'm spelling that correctly) what a credit to the team! You can tell they all really love what they do. Good selection of drinks and don't skip on the dessert, also amazing!!

Amazing meal to celebrate my husband's 60th! Staff were so friendly and helpful in a genuine way! They even burst into " Happy Birthday!" together. The food was absolutely delicious! So many different flavours that were so well put together. The lamb was to die for! Thank you for a memorable special occassion - we loved your restaurant!

The best food I have had!! We had the cod for starters, 10/10. Stew for main so tasty and the bombalinos (mini doughnuts filled with biscoff) for dessert, they are the best things I’ve ever tasted!! & great whisky selection.

We had the best meal out ever, period. Every course .... and the wine. And we've been to all the posh foody places. It's quietly possibly the best Lake District restaurant, but prefers to keep low key fame and declines to enter the Michelin Star performative food circuit. After faltering during Covid trying to find a formula for those difficult times its back on a roll, so if that left you a little disheartened, you won't be now. Chrissy is back in the kitchen and her fusion style dishes are works of culinary delight, with that uniqueness that makes a meal out "different" and appealing, without the over done plate decoration that I compare to a poor opera singer who has to swoop and doop rather than just holding the high like Chrissy does. Service great, fantastic character atmosphere and the unique gentle background music selection is perfect and becoming legendary in its own right.

Incredible food, incredible service. I will always come back here as long as this restaurant is in business whenever I visit this area again. The food was exceptional! The specials menu changes regularly which makes it even more special to me to know they source local produce. The flavours in every dish we ordered, were prepared with so much understanding and love for food from all around the world. This place deserves a Michelin Bib recommendation. No fault to anything here. Service was incredible. Super friendly staff who I felt super warmth from (could be because they are family owned? - I’m unsure). Please visit here if you want to go out for dinner.

Absolutely gorgeous food, great service, good drinks and good value overall. Had a ginger Prosecco cocktail which was fab and the food was just amazing. Really different tastes that work well together. Would highly recommend. Would advise to book.

Just yummy, yummy, yummy is the best way to describe the incredible food served here. We were in the Lakes for my husbands Birthday after a big walk and it was just what we needed. Fantastic food, cocktails and wine. 100% recommend a visit.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we loved every minute of The Jumble Room. Service was brilliant - our server greeted us and, once seated, explained the specials and answered any questions we had. Throughout the evening the staff were pleasant and welcoming. The food was delicious - all cooked to perfection with some exciting flavour combinations and beautifully presented. From starters, mains and through to desserts, everything was amazing. Thank you.

This OUTSTANDING bijou, atmospheric, family restaurant deserves every word of praise its diners lavish on it! My third visit to beautiful Grasmere this year and I was thrilled to secure a booking. I visited with my partner and two cherished friends. I appreciated Ross allocating a table at throbbing ground floor level . Upstairs is extremely pretty but more serene. The food was out of this world!! So imaginative, so utterly delicious- any positive superlative one attaches to exquisite cuisine would apply. The ambience is enchanting! It feels like a blend of Parisienne, Indonesian and quintessentially quirky Brit. The staff were fabulous and it was an evening we shall remember with great affection for a long, long time. At the risk of not getting a future table (please don’t let that happen Ross!) because the whole world will be queuing for a reservation, I’d rate this the best restaurant in The Lake District.

The Jumble room is interesting. An old building with dining rooms in various places. The staff are lively and helpful. Their response to the gluten-free member of our party was exemplary. The food is good an unusual, but for us it was on the verge of too eclectic. I enjoyed the special pasta as a starter and one of our group loved it as a main. I had slow-cooked lamb, which was delicious. The salmon dish was VERY spicy. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Much loved restaurant of ours. Basically we love it. Please don’t tell anyone or share that this place is A*1 as it’s already hard enough to get a table. 😃 Seriously. Don’t come to the lakes and go without dining here. Epic.

We were on the waiting list for a Friday night table and so pleased we got in. This is a warm, friendly and quirky little restaurant- which turned out to be bigger than expected if you venture upstairs! From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and looked after - in fact 2 hours wasn't long enough. This is the kind of place you want to linger in over another glass of wine or one of their delicious ginger cocktails. The food....such a choice and full of flavour. We shared carrot tahini and harissa dip, and a Zhugg marinated halloumi between 4 of us, while sipping ginger cocktails. Delicious flavours and a perfect beginning. Just enough to whet our appetite for what was to come. One of the star dishes was the courgette stuffed with tahini, and pomegranate and pine nuts. Beautifully presented and full of middle Eastern flavours. Three of us chose the special of handmade tortellini stuffed with sea bass and olives, in a spinach cream sauce. I love sea bass but combining it with olives was a new flavour for me and it was truly delicious! No room for dessert sadly tho seriously tempted. One of the other really nice things about this restaurant is you have to phone to book. So you immediately get to speak to the super friendly Em, who seemed almost as pleased as me when she was able to give us a table. Thank you - this has to be one of my all time favourite evenings! We will be back next time we're in the Lakes.

Well what can I say..A very friendly welcome on arrival . They were very y enthusiastic about their food and I consider that to be a very positive sign . My wife had the recommended specials for both starter and main . These were a dimsum dish and seafood for the main . These were delicious . I had a spicy cod starter and an African chicken dish . These were superb , full of flavours . They were also very good with our 8 year old daughter, finding a combo that she would like . The deserts were also delicious. The wine selection was good and not overpriced in my opinion. The atmosphere was excellent and I can honestly say that that was the most delicious meal I have had in a long , long time . Absolutely superb . I wished we lived in Grasmere!

Visiting The Jumble Room has been on my radar for years but I finally got there last night & it didn’t disappoint. The staff were all friendly, knowledgeable & welcoming. The food was fabulous. My friend said her crayfish & prawn pasta starter was one of the best things she’s ever eaten. My dessert of mini doughnuts filled with biscoff was off the scale excellent. The food is excellent, all 5 of us dining unanimously agreed it was exceptional. The layers of flavour, the ingredients and the delicious, fresh taste was just the best. The future son-in-law was friendly and a great host. We met his wife to be, invited ourselves to the wedding and met his future mother in law, the Chef, who modestly said she was just a Mum that like to cook! That is a massive understatement! The restaurant overall has a great, chilled out feel, is busy and you need to book. Will make sure next time any of us are in The Lakes, that we go again. Thank you.

Looking at previous comments we booked a table to come here for our anniversary meal, while staying in Grasmere and I'm so glad we did. What a perfect family run business, lovely staff, perfect drinks and exceptional food. We shared halloumi and the special dumplings for starters, them for main I had the chicken and my husband had the steak and we made sure we saved room for dessert and shared the deep-fried biscoff doughnuts which are delicious! The good is of high quality ingredients and the love that goes in to the dishes! Thank you for a lovely meal, we will definitely come again if we're in the area. Oh I would also recommend the espresso Martini and the fruit salad mocktail!

We visited The Jumble Room whilst staying at the family’s accommodations at Randy Pike, in nearby Ambleside. Family run with unusual international offerings. The crispy fried halloumi was delicious and the miso steak with Asian vegetables was truly sublime. Ross knew his wine and was a very attentive host. The little bar is well stocked with carefully chosen offerings. Even a dessert wine flight. Chrissy is a fabulous chef , both at the restaurant and at Randy Pike. We cannot recommend both the restaurant and the accommodations highly enough. We will be back.

The food, ambience and service is excellent but far too rushed to relax and enjoy the experience. If you want more than an hour for a 3-course meal then this may not be the place for you, which is a pity. This was our second visit in 18-months and unfortunately the outcome was the same on each occasion, ‘done & dusted’ in an hour!

The best. Always brilliant. As it is so popular and only open certain days it should be booked early to avoid disappointment. Menu is short. A lot of Asian themed food with strong interesting flavours.

We didn't realise a table was so highly in demand but luckily managed to fit in due to a cancellation, we found out why you need to book ahead! The menu was unique and worldly with both of our dishes being cooked to perfection. We sampled the cocktails which were equally amazing all set within a lovely atmosphere.
