The staff here are always very friendly, always ready with a smile and a chat. The new premises are very bright and cheerful. The food here is excellent and their standards are high. Love this place. I always visit with my elderly mother and the staff are patient and accommodating.

Good food slightly greasy (busy)

Have been visiting this place for a couple of years now and so far I've never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and the menu is good; there are usually daily specials. Just beware when you are ordering that what will arrive on your table will be substantial! However I'm not mistaking quantity for quality... both are remarkable for the modest prices. It's a family friendly place and it has no pretensions of offering anything but good home-made food that hits the spot. I think they do a great job!

Lovely friendly staff and atmosphere, my husband had the gammon and I had the roast beef dinner, it was delicious. There is a great menu and you won't leave hungry as the meals are big and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Excellent value for the money and everything is fresh

Every thing was tasteless even the vinegar not for me sorry I won’t be back greasey food and only opens in the summer.

I went today with my family to j&rs grill . I have been here a few times before and l have enjoyed ever meal I have had . Everything is made fresh , tastes fresh and looks fresh and delicious. Today I had surf&turf which was steak and scampi which comes with a side order of chips, salad and onion rings it is also served with fried onion and mushrooms . I could not find fault with it . My husband had a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings and my daughter just loves the sweet chilli chicken panini. It comes with chips side salad and crisps . The whole meal was delicious and the scampi was to die for. Excellent portions, staff extremely friendly and they have a great menu to suit all tastes offering vegetarian options. It is also great value for money . I really cant praise this place enough. It is definitely one of my favorite places to eat. I would recommend you try it to see for your self and would be very surprised if you didn't return.i definitely will be .oh and the place is spotless too. Well done to j&rs.

Brilliant food, I had roast dinners Sunday and Monday my great neice had chips first time and Monday she had a kids roast dinner not too much a difference than mine , then we had Knickerbocker glory and I had a strawberry sundae which we ate all and good price. Her dollie had some too lol

I have eaten here a few times and never a bad meal. The prices are good Any meal and drink any thing I have had, has been under £10.. The staff and service are very good. be back again soon.

Chips weren't half cooked, they wrapped up the order without asking if we wanted salt & vinegar, then when I asked the guy behind the counter for salt & vinegar he definitely didn't look pleased, (he'll know who he is) hoped the seagulls enjoyed the food, was all it was fit for, either them or the bin,

Lovely food. It does take a long time to receive order but worth it. Pictures are crispy chicken on salad ,sweet chilli n mayo. Chicken, bacon, cheese, mushrooms smothered in pepper sauce. A large fry. Chicken fillet burger, cheese n bacon and the chips are a scoop thats comes with it. All lovely

The perfect place for a hot lunch on a miserable, rainy afternoon. We rang ahead and asked for a table, which they said wouldn’t be a problem. We were seated quickly, and our orders taken promptly by some very helpful and attentive staff. When the food arrived it was excellent, and the portion sizes were far beyond what we had expected for the price. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food (which ranged from a traditional roast dinner to a club sandwich), and the Mullins ice cram afterwards. Would definitely go again.

My wife and i were out for a drive today and as we came into Millisle, Co Down, we spotted this cafe/restaurant called J&R's Grill. So we pulled over and decided to have lunch. The surroundings are quite nice, looking into the main street, not massive but cosy. The staff were more than helpful and brought us the menu's, i ordered cod and chip's with tea, bread and butter, my wife had the chicken goujon's. Well the servings we got were massive, a lovely well done cod and nicely done chips , alas i couldn't finish it, there was just too much for me but really lovely, my wife's goujon"s were massive, beautiful white chicken breast nicely battered with salad and a very nice sweet chilli sauce and golden chip's. Overall a pleasureable visit and would highly recommend a visit, you wont be disappointed, and good value as well.

Went in here this evening, first appearances really good. The place was busy and a good vibe. It's not just a chippy but a restaurant with some chip shop food, so all good. We got handed menus quickly from a lady and then a young man took our order. This is where it all went wrong. I placed the order and asked for a cheesy chip and was told they don't do that sort of thing, so said daughter was funny about what she eats, she has Autisim so I Said just go ahead with the order anyway. They have a takeout menu plainly on view and on it was cheesy chips. I asked the young man if I could order it and could she eat it at the table with us, we'll the reply left me astounded 'no that is for take away only'. A few pensioners sitting at a table beside us couldn't believe it either. Anyway as we where out for a family meal I ordered her a chip and went to the shop to buy grated cheese not the type she eats so ended up going home grated some myself went back and put it on her chips. Then as we where sitting there feeling uncomfortable because of adding our own cheese, what looked liked a kitchen hand walked in with a 2kg bag of grated Kerrymaid cheese. I am a chef with two catering businesses myself and if a customer had specific needs or requests it was not unreasonable and I was able to do it I would so we could get repeat custom. You would think a new food outlet would be looking for this. How hard is it to sprinkle some already grated cheese on a chip? First time there food was great but lack of customer care means I wouldn't go back plus the side order of veg was lukewarm the pie was nice and the kids meal was a good size. Though on a plus point they must be doing well if they can afford to lose customers.

We found this restaurant the first night we were camping nearby. It has a takeaway as well as plenty of seating. They also sell ice cream. My children had chicken goujons and chips and sausage and chips. Myself and my husband both had fish and chips with mushy peas and small bit of salad. Both my kids struggled to finish their meals, only 1 sausage but large amount of chips. The fish was large with crispy batter and the chips were nice too. Reasonable price and friendly service. I'd eat here again if we returned.
