Very poor experience at Almondell café. Staff need to attend to customers' needs rather than childminding their out of control kids.

I have enjoyed this cafe and used to go after work for my lunch on a regular basis. Have not made it for a few months. Absolutely shocked at the price I paid today for a filled baguette and tiny pot of tea. £7.50 for a baguette with microscopic salad and 3 crisps! £10 in all for this and a cup of tea.

Rude and unhelpful staff. On Google maps it lists this cafe as dog friendly. We arrived with our lovely cocker spaniel - there was also several dogs in the car park. Only to find a no dogs allowed sign in the entrance. Staff were rude and sarcastic when we enquired if we were allowed to take her into the cafe. The food and stock looked poor I would not recommend a visit or purchase here.

Visit regularly always had excellent soup 2 choices. Visit on 1st February 2022 with a friend choice of carrot and coriander or leek and potato soup served with a crusty roll and butter. Friend had coronation chicken toastie with side salad I had Brie and cranberry sandwich with side salad and both had cappuccino and a peppermint slice. Lovely selection of cakes and cheese and fruit scones. Very reasonable prices and tables well spaced. Thoroughly recommend

I was disappointed when I tried this coffee shop yesterday as the staff continued to vacuum noisily around us, so not a relaxing atmosphere. They were going to close early as it was not busy but it was still half an hour until the earlier closing time. If they had warned us before we paid, we would have gone elsewhere. Not impressed. This does not reflect on the garden centre as it is a totally separate business.

Good quality plants at reasonable cost. I have been back several times. I particularly liked the herb selection available.

Our locally owned garden centre in East Calder. which caters for most of our needs. The staff are very helpful and can offer good advice. Seeds and seedlings are available in season. There is a well-organised cafeteria which serves hot and cold dishes and drinks. Definitely a local asset.

The food may be ok but the attitude of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. Mix up over a £1.20 bowl of soup which was part of a £70 order deterioted beyond belief to the extent where my daughter was accused of lying about what she ordered . Unbelievable !

I have visited this garden centre every year for 10 years. have been to the cafe as well - but I cannot recommend the the quality of plants and the variety more highly. I live in Edinburgh but go to Veitche's every year for bedding plants and compost. Last year I bought 12 geraniums and some special Mocha Pink shades begonias. They grew huge and passing pedestrians admired them over the garden fence!! I love this place - go there for a blaze of colourful plants and inspiration!! Support this long standing business - I always will! Going next week - and might have something to eat as well!!

It so nice to speak to people who understand what they are talking about in regards to plants and these guys have this in spades. Great place for plants and everything Garden related and then finish it off with a nice coffee and lunch in the cafe. Good honest food, nice sized portions.

This is a very good Garden Centre where it is obvious that the plants on sale are kept in tip top condition prior to sale. On our most recent visit we saw the owner (?) repotting a number of plants in bigger pots to ensure...

had lunch in here a few times, service isn't the fastest but normally there is only 1 person on trying to do everything, which is a bit of a shame, lunches are a little bit outdated but the food is good, great coffee too.

Veggie thin base pizza was very good. Our peculiar dietery requirements were easily accommodated as everything was freshly prepared so we could pick and choose a wide variety of ingredients. Tuna salad was amazing, again with our own choice of ingredients. Not expensive either.
