We walked the trail way to Fiddleford Manor and Mill then returned to Sturminster Newton for lunch. We looked at various cafes in the town and decided that Joshua’s was the most appealing. Good tea, nice mozzarella, mushroom, basil and roasted pepper toasties at a very reasonable price compared to other establishments. Polite and friendly service, clean tables. There was nothing at all to dislike. A lovely cafe, great lunch.

Joshua has the best coffee for miles and his Italianised sandwiches and filled ciabatas are also excellent. Friendly service and we locals keep coming back.

This is a little gem in Sturminster. The best coffee I’ve ever had and a piece of carrot cake to die for. Would highly recommend. Friendly staff, superb coffee, amazing food and a really lovely, relaxed ambience.

We visit this family run cafe whenever we go Sturminster Newton, it's our go to.!! The coffee is consistently good, and the Carrot cake we had today, was one of the nicest we have had. They also do tasty lunchtime snacks. A nice and friendly place to visit. Highly recommend.

Perfectly roasted coffee prepared to perfection, delicious ham and cheese toasties served beautifully and approachable and very customer focussed father and son team. It is rare nowadays to find coffee which tastes as it should do and not blended into blandness to please all palates. If you like coffee then this is coffee heaven. The ham and cheese toastie was simply delicious. Definitely no skimping on the ingredients here. Just the perfect balance of ham and cheese and the perfect of thar delicious caramalised onion chutney to compliment those main ingredients. Each mouthful was gorgeous and my tastebuds celebrated yet again at the experience. Joshua is a modest young man delivering an outstanding service to his local community as well as to any traveller lucky enough to find this gem of a place. The business has no website and when asked about where I should leave a review of my experience there was no great enthusiasm to mention any site. Joshua's father is a real delight too. A real gentleman who is so funny that one would return just for the banter. A selection of very attractive looking cakes on the counter would of course also bring me back for a taster... not that I need an excuse to go back! You can see that both chaps work very hard but you can also feel the love between them as they assist each other to deliver that outstanding service. I loved the board of Charlie Brown Quotes but especially this one: "What if today we were just grateful for everything." To me it spoke volumes about the mindset of the leaders of this business. I cannot recommend this place and its people highly enough. An amazingly authentic experience. Service from the heart. I am hugely grateful for the experience.

This compact but attractive coffee shop was a great find. The service is both efficient and friendly and the product quality is good. This is very much a local's cafe but visitors are given a very warm welcome. Good loo.

My wife and I visited Joshua's for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our coffee's were among the best we've had in a very long while and in addition the food was excellent. This cafe is popular for good reason and if you're in the area do consider going there.

My friend and I had a very nice lunch here today. One of the italian flat bread items on the menu. Followed by tiffin. Staff are friendly and we were able to chat with Joshua himself. A couple of cups of coffee and tea and we were ready for an afternoon of browsing. We will go there again.

Coffee was very good but took a couple tries with my order, the atmosphere was very good and not too busy. Definitely going to try this out again but looking to find the perfect coffee shop in Sturminster.

A real find, friendly, engaging, lovely coffee and cakes. It is so lovely when you are recognized as someone valuable, not just ££££'s. Clean and tidy and lovely soap in the WC. Highly recommended!

I am walking The Stour Valley Way in sections, this café was my best find yet, very welcoming and hospitable. I shall definitely do the next section walking downstream so that I can visit Joshua's again.

Small and friendly in the middle of Sturminster Newton with off-street park just across the road. The light lunch menu was very reasonably priced, well presented and good! A great place to meet up with friends.

27th August 2024 Mouldy sandwich?! We went for a quick sandwich and a cup of tea after a day out. Although we thought the prices were expensive, we could live with paying £13.50 for a bacon sandwich as we thought it would be good quality. The bread was stale and the bacon looked like dried shoe sole, but that wasn't the worst part. My husband ordered a cheddar cheese sandwich, the cheddar had a strange taste and I would say it had gone bad, it was indeed mouldy. Overpriced and disappointing to say the least. Sadly we won't be returning here.
