Got served by a wonderful lady called Charlotte she gave the best service and made sure my entire family was taken care of. She made sure on a busy Saturday that we was looked after she was such a hard worker!!

Food took ages to come and when it eventually did it was cold and one of the meals was burnt.

Waited over an hour for food. Poor attitude from staff when enquiring how much longer it was going to take for the food. Other members of group where serve their meals at all different times and some served their sides then left 15 minutes without their main, which only came after we enquired where it was. Terrible experience and would not recommend

OK place, didn't rate food. Place looks dirty as always. Not been since it was done out but seems no different now.

I went in jonty ordering food at the bar minding my own business and some women decided to elbow me with some force with the intention of hurting me and the bar tender did not come to my defence, also the manager seemed rude. Been there a couple of times and the atmosphere has been awful. Very unwelcoming and unpleasant. If you are not white don’t come to this pub I have a feeling it’s a racist pub with racist people.

Still the best local pub, I have been coming here for years, the staff are extremely amazing, always happy to help and my children love the fact it has an outdoor play area. The pizzas are amazing and definitely go hand in hand with the draught available. Thanks Rach and the team

Since the last time I came in the decor has really come together, I can see the effort the staff have put into the place, food service was great, lovely bar staff, will be coming back again, thank you.

As we were just passing through the area. Excellent service, the food was amazing a d an wonderful atmosphere for the evening.

Very disappointed with this visit.. food was 2hrs late out, and I paid for starters and came out with the main meal. Everything was cold. The service was shocking when we said to the girl that came out with the food.. that it was cold and she didn't say a word. I said we ordered starters to come out before our main meal, and she didn't say anything. Won't be going for food there again. Only took my mum and two daughters as it was lovely last time. The people who came in after us got their food first. What a waste of money on our starters that we didn't even eat. I'm absolutely shocked.. plus our table was wet and dirty and when we told the woman she came with a wet cloth and wiped it and left it wet again. The only person who was helpful was one of the staff behind the bar. The only woman who had a smile on her face.

Nice relaxing family pub/restaurant with decent food and drinks. Just a shame non-service dogs are allowed inside. For people with allergies and frightened children this is not good nor hygienic.

We had been to a funeral and went to the Jonty Farmer for the wake The food put on was absolutely delicious the chips were great Would recommend to friends

Had a Sunday dinner and it was the most horribleist thing I’ve had. the homeless get more for free will never go here again

Quiz is the best thing about the place!

Table ready and waiting. Ordered food and drink at the bar. Able to use blue light card foe discount. Food was lovely. Nice and hot. Staff were pleasent. Great portion sizes. Only shame was that we had no room left for pudding! They sounded delicious

Don't bother coming staff rude , Food absolutely rubbish , Pub dirty and wrong glasses for a gin absolutely drowned we half pint if lemonade will never visit again avoid 😀

Great local pub, loads going on, events and celebrations. Proper pizza oven plus usual quick/easy/adequate/cheap chain pub menu. Special mention for the hand pulled real ales 👌

Tepid food, slow service, cold plates, no staff follow up. Not a patch on other Marstons pubs we've used.

Called in for Sunday lunch on our way back from the Peak District. Food was awful !! How can businesses survive serving food like this?

The whole experience was excellent, very busy giving a good atmosphere. Pre booked our table via the app which worked well. Good well priced meals, ours came quick I was only half way through my first pint of Birra Moretti. Food cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Would recommend and definitely be returning. Keep up the good work.

Food was reasonable although my garden peas were very hard. We were served relatively quickly but some members of our party had to wait over 45 minutes for food. When theirs arrived, everyone else had finished eating. Good place for a meeting d week meal

This place deserves 5 stars, the drinks are made as soon as they are ordered, doesn't take too long to get them. Everything on the menu is great, I highly recommend the Nachos Sharer. Food always comes fresh and hot unlike other pubs where it comes out barely warm. The staff is great and very welcoming. If I would recommend anyone a pub it would be this one!! Will be coming back again.

Lovely staff, was served by Morgan and Chaz. We only stayed for drinks but it was a great atmosphere and will definitely return!

Staff were lovely but probably the worst roast I’ve ever seen. Clearly frozen food poorly prepared. Virtually inedible…

Beer choice was poor, some of the food was ok, but the kebab’s were awful. Definitely will not be recommending and won’t be coming again.

Food was good when it eventually arrived, the wait was excessive considering they didn't appear very busy. To be fair ,I'd go again so long as I wasn't in a rush.

Like most branded pub restaurants, it's your typical go to when there's no appointments at a nicer place to visit, it's usually quiet here at this particular place but can get very busy during summer, especially when the football is on. Drinks are reasonably priced but again, cheaper to buy alcohol at the local shop and go home with it, you're basically paying for the spcial aspect with drinking in any social setting in any pub/restaurant. Food here is nothing special, run of the mill beer garden specials, not terrible but also nothing amazing. Kid friendly place with outdoor children play area, plenty of outdoor seating, next to a main road which only usually gets busy in the mornings so anything past 11am is usually fine. Free parking and plenty of parking spaces available. Would I visit here again, sure, it's like any pub restaurant in the country.

Be prepared to wait 50 mins for food. Knowing they had a party booking at the same time as us they could have warned of the long wait for food but because the place was not busy they needed our .custome. when food eventually arrived we were accused of shouting and asked if we wanted our food or not. Manager was very sarcastic and needs a refresher course in pub hospitality and management.

we had good expectations but were disappointed. several fries were rotten. black fries were so big that the chef could not notice. part of the salad was also rotten and smelly, in addition it was not washed from the packaging. If the chef had washed it, he would have seen that it had to be thrown away. the service at the bar also leaves much to be desired. I was corrected with the pronunciation of the name of the beer (I have a different accent), which is uncultured.

Lovely mango & passionfruit gin & pint . Lady who served us was helpful, smiley and chatty.

Good for a Marston's pub, if you know what I mean. Prices about in line with the rest of Derby. Their garden/outdoor area can be really pleasant for a couple of swift ones after work in the summer, but it can also be pretty meh depending on the time of day/traffic. Keep that in mind if you're looking for a beer in the sun.

I booked a table for 10 people for a mini graduation celebration meal/drinks. The manager was very accommodating. I popped in the night before to ask for help as I knew I’d struggle for time on the day. Not only did the staff put the large banners up for us, but there were a few helium balloons in our colours on the tables too :) the pub was clean, the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly! We gave some graduation memorabilia to the barman as it was soon to be his graduation too :) we had a lovely few hours playing games and spending final hours together before we parted ways for the future. I’m so grateful to the pub for making it so special for us with the little things. They honestly made more of an effort for us than the university. I live locally so I’ll be returning with my family very soon :) thanks you again! Emma Allez xx

What a lovely visit to a great pub! me and my husband went to the pub as a spontaneous visit, and what a great little place this is! i had the double cheeseburger and a medium wine, and my husband had the hunters chicken and a pint of neck oil. great price for what we had, and we will definitely return! 5 ⭐️

Wow! We had a great time tonight, much improved from previous visits. Food was great and we hardly had to wait. Staff were all happy and enjoying their jobs. We will be back soon to try more of the menu and see more of Handy Andys DIY skills. 😅

Came for a Sunday roast with the fam. Beef was lovely and tasty and the veg was cooked to perfection. Amazing drink deals too, 3 bulmers for a tenner! Staff made the visit extra special

Stopped here for Sunday tea. My husband had roast beef which was ok, after they had brought the wrong size meal out but then swapped it. My chilli was more like a watery soup and the tortilla chips mentioned on the menu were missing. My daughter had roast chicken, roast being the operative word, it was anhydrous. The only saving grace was her apple crumble. Not a good experience and will not be returning.

Had a Sunday lunchtime meal with family, including 2 young children. The food was tasty - I enjoyed my cowboy burger especially - and the outdoor seating with enclosed play area for the kids was great. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Plenty of parking and a couple of vegan options on the menu, which helped some of my group. Would definitely go again

I recently visited the Jonty farmer and was amazed by how friendly and helpful the staff were. we had the pizza and fudge cake and was absolutely blown away by how delicious it was.

chocolate fudge is heavenly. Service and atmosphere is amazing. Great place to visit for a cheeky drink or to have a bite to eat with friends.

I went to the John Farmer today with my grandchildren and a friend we ordered lunch. The children had chips and fishfingers and peas. I couldn’t believe what was served to me. Wilted rocket that wasn’t fit to eat cold chicken, cold bacon on top cheese that look like it’s been sitting there for an hour and chips that were like brick. The kids peas they didn’t eat because they said they were hard, so I tried them and they were I ordered a bottle of water and I was given tapwater in a bottle I’d never go again. The food was absolutely disgraceful. I worked in catering for the best part of 18 years. I wouldn’t have even sent it out, poor poor food, shame on yourselves for even serving it never go again and people wonder why all the pubs are closing all this fast food rubbish you know get a cook Cook real food was real vegetables from your local farmer. Shame on the company nobody wants to eat that rubbish everywhere is fake food. Everybody’s tired of fake food serve some real food real chips that are made from guess what potato real food and put some vegetables and some salads and local dishes put pubs back to be in pubs rant over I just think people have forgotten what real food taste like and what it is because what was on them menus there’s no nutrients in that food, poor poor poor

Called for lunch after a dog walk nearby. Small dog frinedly area. Had burgers which were very nice, just need a bit of salad garnish or something to finish them off.

I had steak n ale pie, chips and peas. Pie was very nice, much better than the last one I had there. They must have changed suppliers. My partner had fish n chips and said it was nice too.

Keeping to kosher rules and the lady that served me understood my dietary requirements which really surprised me. The veggie burger was better than I expected and overall a good experience

We ordered food at 1246. It arrived at 2:10pm. Food that was ordered after us was brought to the table before us. I had 2 young children with me. My youngest fell asleep by the time the food came. When I made a complaint, I was given some money back but no apology for this awful service. I emailed the pub to make a formal complaint and request that they have some support with how to deal with customer complaints. My response from the manager called me by the wrong name and just told me to phone. I have still not had an apology for this appalling service. If you would like food served on time do not go here.

Staff were incredibly friendly. We arrived as a group of 7 and had to leave early as our gameday bus arrived. Staff were extremely accommodating, giving us foil to take our food with us (arrived in around 15 minutes btw so very good wait time). Mega friendly and understanding, helped us out so much, food was delicious. Definitely be back next year when we play Derby😂
