Johns Fish Bar in Birmingham

Arrived hot, a bag of potatoes worth of chips in the large order, and the fish was great.

Chicken and masala fish is horrible chip either over cooked or undercooked everything super greasy only thing edible was the curry sauce lol don’t order from here

A really friendly woman served us, and the fish and chips were excellent! Definitely the best in Quinton.

Just had an order from here, this food was probably the worst I've had. Chips looked old, everything swimming in fat. grease the only thing you can taste. Onion rings were just a tray of slimey onions with soggy batter in the bottom. Chicken meat dry and overdone. Massive waste of money. May as well have thrown pound coins in the bin.

My experience with John's Fish Bar is usually a pleasant one, with great tasty food, but this time it wasn't so good. The chips were 50/50, some were nice but mixed in with them were hard/stale chips. I also ordered two portions of cod bites and the batter was awful. I knew as soon as I opened up the package that it wasn't going to be edible. The batter was pale and soft, whoever put them in the fryer, took them out way too soon. It was very noticeable and should not have been sent out. There was also a sausage in batter ordered, the batter wasn't great either and I ended up removing it and just eating the sausage. All in all, the food was way below par and most of it ended up in the bin.

food tasted like it was reheated, chips had bits in them, like oil needed changing.

Great hot tasty food. Cod beautiful,lamb kebab meat very tasty. The salad is dull, no onion or toms, chips great, curry sauce nice chinese style. Alround a great chippy. Will be trying other things off the varied menu for sure.

I order from here often but the last few times it's not the same. The standard of food has gone down the potatoes that are being used are not nice my chips with brown and old looking.

Food is always amazing from here and reasonable prices. Naan breads are fresh and always tasty. Just got all stamp card rewards too and never had a bad order.

The delivery time was altered, fair enough. However, the driver was quite inept, he had no change because he had left it at the shop. When I challenged him over this he became rude.The chips were cold when I finally got them. The lady at the shop called me to apologise and told me to add a note on my next order. Not sure that there will be another order.

Food arrived early and still very hot. Portions were generous and I’d say worth more than what they’re currently charging! Food was delicious. Mums fish and chips where missing salt and vinegar but we have our own so it wasn’t a big issue. Would be great if you offered burger meals and desserts - struggling to finish everything ordered for two people and obviously had to reach the £11 minimum. Can see why this place has great reviews, we’ll definitely be ordering again!

Delivery driver shocking order food to come to my door not go and collect it.

Extremely greasy and soggy. And came only luke warm. The cod was ok but the batter and chips and onion rings were all soggy and dripping with grease. Couldn’t eat much at all. Very very disappointed!

I order from here often but lately the chips haven't been good. I'm not sure if it's the type of potato but there bad bits on top of that you don't even get as much as you used too.

I ordered fish and chips twice... Loved they came in a box. And fish was delicious and chips were just cooked right and plenty too.

Good food but prices have risen considerably over the last 6 months. Nice staff, chatty when not busy.

Food was OK I ordered I mix meat burger and just got chicken tikka burger and they missed my drink out that I paid for to go with my dinner hope it's a one off its not like them to miss things out

I ordered a normal chicken meat for my daughter who cannot eat spicy food and the meat and chips was covered in some sort of red seasoning which was spicy so she couldn't eat it this should of been updated

Food was late but they sent me a text messsge to say it would be a little late and were very apologetic, the delivery driver was very polite and also apologised, the food was hot, tasty and generous portion sizes. I have not ordered food from here before but will happily use johns fish bar again.

First time ordering from here and would be last unfortunately. Chips was not fresh and so much crispy bits . Doner lamb was very greasy and some was big chunks of meat. Only good thing delivery was fast .

Unusual for this place but the food was cold and greasy. I had the fish bites which are normally nice but they were full of grease . The food was also late which I feel sorry for the delivery driver because he has to face the customer.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat, staff very friendly and welcoming, had one of the specials, pie and chips for £3.45, this is roughly £1.50 cheaper than the other local chippy, my issue was that the chips seemed over cooked / old or reheated, the pie was good but such a pity about the chips

had 1st order last weekend so ordered again tonight must say fantastic food very nice chips actually tasty

Beat kebab iv had in yrs and the donna meat in a tray was fantastic. It was the best experience iv had 10/10 . I will not use any where else in the future.

Greasy and bland food, charged 20 pence to put sauce on the chips. Don’t recommend because of the bad customer service.
