I consider this department store a 'real find'. The store has a family feel. It has a good range of toys and is a relaxing place to shop. I called them the other day to ask about a product. They didn't stock it but gave all the information I needed to acquire it! Their service is faultless.

Excellent customer service friendly helpful staff keeps you informed of what they are selling.

A beautifully kept department store. Almost like stepping back in time. They offer very up to date goods at very competitive prices. Very nice little cafe tucked away on the top floor. Extremely clean place throughout.

Really nicely stocked department store with an interesting homeware section containing good quality and unusual gadgets. They also have a nice children’s toy department. Staff are helpful and ambience pleasant.

Not as cheap as other retailers, nor too expensive, but definitely a good shopping experience in an independent department store of history.

Excellent service and as I had spent over £40 I was entitled to a free coffee from coffee shop across the road which I thought was very good.

A hidden gem of a shop. Has many of the traditional department store sections, including homewares, baby presents, haberdashery and crafts. Particularly great for functional and present-quality kitchenware, bedding, and has an absolutely huge range of kids toys for all ages.

Lots of products to chose from. Bought lingerie. Very happy with my purchase and experience. Will definitely visit again.

Didn't have a good experience with their buyer when trying to purchase some simple toys. Didn't like his smarmy attitude. For that reason 1 star.

Great place with variety of clothes; underwear; hosiery; handbags and night attire and that's just the ground floor! 1st floor includes a small cafeteria, pots pans and everything you need for a kitchen or bathroom or even a bedroom, along with kids toys and unusual cards & presents.

I went in to the store recently looking for a particular item, a member of staff Nora knew what I was looking for and took my details and said she would contact me, well she rang me the same day and said she would put items aside for me in two different sizes. I went in today and they there were, I also bought 2 more items. I can’t recommend this store enough, they have some lovely clothes for all different shapes and sizes. I will definitely be going back. I hate shopping, but this was a pleasant experience. Lovely service with very helpful staff

I went there and ordered a scone with jam and cream. The reply was they had jam and butter. I said no cream? She looked at me as if I was asking for something very strange. The scone was nice and big although a bit crumbly. I could take my own clotted cream next time, I suppose...

Lovely little store. I popped in with my seven year old son to have a look at the toys - great selection. We tried the little cafe too. Very impressed. The food was tasty and made fresh and reasonably priced too.

A wonderful little cafe on first floor of the department store step back in time.. A quiet little place to have a cuppa and a quick snack made by real people.......no music. no hectic serving staff, no noisy children running around......as I said, a step back in time..

We have never tried this cafe for food before but gave it a go for lunch. They do jacket potato, omelettes, sandwiches and cakes. My wife had a corned beef sandwich and I tried a jacket potato with cheese and beans. The potato was a good portion and very nice quality. Prices are very reasonable. Their filter coffee is a bargain at £1.20 for a mug. The cafe is comfortable if basic and the staff were chatty and friendly.

We went in to purchase a hand bag my Wife see in there the day before to match her shoes and out fit but unfortunately it was sold that day I took a photo of the label on another bag and going to try contacting the manufacturer to see if I can get my Wife the one she wanted. The lady assistant in the store was very helpful and even checked in the store room we like John Sanders store Mike and Sheila

I found this shop a few months ago x it's a great shop for the older mature lady. Not expensive x quality is very good. The clothing go quickly as it's a different style than the normal shops very wearable. They also sell bedlinen x household goods upstairs.

Fantastic shop, Lovely cafe with friendly staff. Simple but lovely menu, freshly made sarnie and cakes, great value pot of tea £1.00 cake £1.50. Highly recommend. Support local. Worth a visit

Nice little department store. Strange that it only sells women's clothes though. My nan when visiting from Liverpool always buys duvets from here, says they are the best she's ever had. The cafe is a nice little hidden gem, the lady with glasses and scotch husband who served us was amazing, you don't come across friendly customer service like that very often. She's an asset to the company. Would highly recommend.

Beware the "sale prices". Some of our bedlinen purchases today didn't have prices on them, just on the shelf display, so when we got to the till the assistant disagreed with the displayed price and we ended up paying more. Probably about the same as the real price of the items.

Hidden away on the top floor of John Sanders department store in Ruislip, Greater London is a little gem of a cafe from the heritage era. The whole store is heritage; some might say old fashioned but that comes with all the manners, courtesy and customer care from days gone by when service was everything. Prices are ridiculously cheap, much cheaper than the coffee chains up the street and they offer a limited food menu of breakfast, light lunch and coffee break winners. Needless to say, the clientele are regulars who have discovered the cafe and return time and again, many of whom are seniors.The staff are fabulous and work hard to provide the very best of service.Mr. Sanders would be proud!

The only department store left in Ruislip. It houses a fairly basic selection of clothing, haberdashery, linnen, kitchenware etc. Located in the middle of busy high street.

Such a lovely place to visit. Discovered this shop at Christmas as they hosted a children's activity and santa grotto. There is a good selection of children's toys and a cafe to rest after browsing the shop. Don't let the dated decor deceive you - they stock some high end brands and good quality clothing... so nice to see shops like this still exist!

Small and friendly with very helpful staff. Freshly made sandwiches, toasted tea cakes, good coffee and choice of teas but no soya or milk alternatives for vegans sadly. Child friendly with a safe small play area at the far end. Self service however staff deliver food prepared in the kitchen to order. Brilliant store for toys, haberdashery and gifts

A lovely old fashioned department store with some great items to buy. The toy department is a winner with the grandchildren there is so many toys. I love the kitchen wear department with all its gadgets, the small coffee shop upstairs is a traditional little area serving great tea and coffee. This is a must for stepping back in time, you will not be disappointed, staff are delightful.

Quite an old fashioned shop but some good bargains and lovely staff. A nice little cafeteria upstairs. It's in the main high street with lots of buses passing by.

Staff are so helpful, great choice & good prices

Went to have a look at this shop with a friend. It has a good toy department and downstairs lots of other bits and pieces where I bought a couple of purses. The clothes are a bit old fashioned but may suit some people. I found the staff very amable and friendly. We went to the cafeteria for a snack, the choice was good with reasonable prices. What we ate was ok too.I shall certainly pay a visit to this shop the next time that I am in Ruislip.

I absolutely enjoyed my visit to this department store. Staff are very helpful and I appreciate the artisan products they sell at very reasonable prices. The toy department has a fine selection. Also has a cozy café. Bought some lovely items for the flat. We all enjoyed the time spent here.

Great place to shop staff always very welcoming also child friendly

Not just a store for the mature customer. The upstairs toy department is the best for miles and always used to hold on to toys until collected Christmas Eve or before.

A must if your shopping in Ruislip and of course you just have to have a little something to keep you going. D and C led the way as always and we ended up eating there.

John Sanders has been in Ruislip for decades, but it's rare now to find a suburban high street with its own department store. It does feel like a place from a different era. Despite a refurb a few years ago, they managed to maintain the 1950s feel of the place! The staff are all very friendly and helpful and it's a nice experience to shop here.

We are privileged to have the John Sanders store near to where we live, they have a great range of cookware, kitchen ware, toys and women's clothing besides a very good range of haberdashery products, towels and bedding.

Good toilet and baby change facilities, lively cosy cafe, good assortment of goods, friendly service and bra measuring at any time unlike M&s where you have to book an appointment.

This is like a snack bar with a small menu but is very good value. You can get a filter coffee and a current bun plain or toasted for £1-50, sandwiches or hot meals, all at good prices.

If you want toys, kitchen stuff, bed linen, haberdashery items, handbags, hats, swimwear, gifts for a baby, clothes (aimed at a woman of a certain age), bed linen or a quick lunch or cup of tea the John Sanders is the place for you. The staff have all been there years and are genuinely lovely. The last time I bought a toy they still had to fill in a little notebook for stock taking purposes as their tills have yet to discover even the Millenium Bug, but that's all part of its charm and their customer service is always done with a chat and a smile. Many larger stores could learn a thing or two about customer service.

It's a very handy shop to have so close to me, lived in Ruislip for over 10 years now and have only ever been in here about 5 times but always come out with what I needed. It's been sort of like a mini woolworths when they were around.

This is a lovely little shop right in the centre of Ruislip High Street. There is street parking and a little car park behind the shops on the other side of the road. The shop has a slightly old fashioned ambience and is delightful. It sells a good range of reasonably priced women's clothes, sewing materials, bedding, kitchen ware and other nick knacks.

Took my 16 year old niece to buy her first grown up underwear, The staff were amazing with her, fitted her with the right size and paid her a great deal pf attention so she felt very gown up. Wonderful selection of well made and well priced underwear.

went in to john sanders which by the way is a old fashioned yet practical department store it is well laid out but it has one of the most appealing café inside the store on the first floor I had coffee and a bacon sandwich on my visit and it was really great the café was clean and well looked after the food was great and so was the coffee you should really try this café it is smashing

I'm amazed and pleased this has survived. Not many places left to buy stuff like wool, sewing cotton. Homewares selection upstairs is great.

I love this local store, and have shopped here for many years. there was also a shop in Ealing Broadway, which I frequented during my youth. Can always find something in this delightfull, 'old style' store

It has been in Ruislip for years. The toy department is very good with regular offers. A bit of everything in the store. It outlasts the competition. The cafe is old fashioned and good value. I prefer to the coffee chains in the High Street.

This is a 70's throw back with an endearing level of service and great value snack lunches. We need to keep places like this alive for ever! You do expect John Inman to jump out at any moment.

I used to regularly visit this store when I lived locally over 13 years ago. Have always found it a pleasure. Traditional good value and excellent service. Staff here would always go the extra mile for their customers. Was delighted to see it still here when I was in Ruislip today. I overhead a sales lady explaining how something worked in the cook shop on the first floor. Her attention to detail was excellent. Also the excited faces of the little children coming in to visit father Christmas! A very enjoyable visit.

John Sanders is a small old fashioned department store in Ruislip High Street. On the first floor there is a very cheap café. A good place to stop for a snack and/or drink while you are out shopping. The café is situated next to the toy department so you can leave the children to browse while having a cup of tea.

John Sanders is a amazing toy, home ware and clothes shop where all you can find anything from good gift ideas to evening outfits and loads of kitchen utensils to keep your cooking as fine as it can be! The staff there are so kind and helpful and if you are stuck on finding something then they will help you look for the right thing that you need! And even if you just want a look around there is a tasty little cafe on the top floor that serves delicious lunches and quench-thirsting drinks!
