This is such a gorgeous place with lovely staff and a lovely atmosphere

Nice little cafe but the food is average at best. I ordered the egg salad sandwich and was terribly disappointed.

One of the best cafe's I have been in. And celebrating 20 years. I have gone there for 15 years. That speaks volumes. Prices are very reasonable. From breakfasts to lunch to cakes. And of course lovely coffee. I think looking at all the regulars, (and friends I've made) Joannie and her staff are doing something right. I know its been a lifeline for some elderley customers. I know you can't please everyone, but the greatest majority love it. Thank you. Many more happy years.

Disappointing After travelling from Leeds to do a painting job, I really wanted a home cooked breakfast before I started. Found this place and arrived around 9.15am. Looked clean and ladies serving were polite but that was it. No interaction. Only one other customer in a 20 seater cafe. Asked about the full English and told what items were on it (only scrambled egg option) paid £10+ for £7.85 breakfast and black coffee. Coffee arrived promptly but lacklustre in taste. Settled down to read whilst breakfast was freshly cooked. 5 minutes later the breakfast arrived. I think the delay was the toast being made. Clearly everything besides the toast was already made and just had to be reheated. The sausages were truly cheap & nasty, tinned wet mushrooms, microwaved hash brown. The scrambled egg was reheated and tasteless.The bacon and toast was ok. I tried to give a small business my hard earned money when other go to Greggs, McDonald's and Burger King but it is totally wasted here. For £10+ I would expect better?

Nice from afar, far from a nice. Cold sausages with a stick on eye lash on, thin tasteless bacon, Cold tinned mushrooms, tasteless scrambled eggs (no other egg option), and for £10.50 would expect better? With hindsight, alarm bells should have rang when a high St cafe is constantly empty of customers, we live and learn

Superb little café and spotlessly clean.

Absolutely beautiful meal and needs catered for. The staff made us feel welcoming, and facilities were clean and tidy.

Had a chicken tikka cob wasn't tikka at all, was packet chicken with mayo I've littlery ended up with food poisoning from this! Will not be eating ere again that's for sure.

Great little cafe, spotlessly clean, modern environment with friendly staff. Prices are excellent and definitely worth a visit.

Local canteen, modern decor, friendly welcome. English breakfast OK but not great (canned mushrooms). Affordable price compared to those in Durham.

Their homemade broth was great! It has everything that broth should have but with added bacon to make it extra tasty. Well worth the money, especially considering it came with warm baguette and butter. Lovely ladies serving and cooking. Recommended.

Seems like a nice little cafe for most.. Over priced in my opinion seeing as most cafes ive used we would spend the same amount and get drinks/snacks in at the cost not just sandwiches alone. (£11 for tuna melt panini and a bacon and egg sandwich) Partners bacon sandwich was alright when he overlooked the margarine used which would have been without if asked. I really wasn't impressed finding Sweet Chilli sauce in my Tuna melt panini though, a combination I'll not try again. All for people going out the box with recipies but would be nice to advise people on odd concoctions or state it in the menu so the choice to opt out is there.

Only had latte and muffin cake but it was very nice.The staff are friendly and helpful

Joanie's kitchen is a small but excellent eaterie with very friendly and attentive staff , it's very neat and clean and welcoming and I will be back , a great local place for a tasty bite and a decent cuppa .

Came in a weeks ago as my pregnant partner asked me to get her a Coffee from McDonald’s as she is allowed one a day. This was a fantastic choice as the latte’s we got where amazing! She was very happy and has asked me to get her another one next time I’m passing (If she has not already had her 1 Coffee a day while being pregnant). Thanks girls, I will be back!

Lovely little coffee shop on the high street in Langley Moor. Warm welcome and great customer service. Strong coffee and delicious flapjack. Was able to sit outside with my push bike, which is great. Will highly recommended this coffee shop.

Worst English breakfast I have ever had tinned mushrooms. Couldn't swallow bacon or hash brown obviously reheated dry as a bone. Abismal 2 stars for the pleasant staff

Lovely café, very clean, two lovely ladies in there and the food /coffee were perfect! Would definitely recommend. Husband had a bacon and egg sandwich (which was massive) and I had a fresh fruit scone with fresh cream and jam.

Searched local cafes while vehicle being serviced nearby on a Friday. Noticed excellent reviews and only a short walk away. Spotless. Very friendly staff and very quick service. English breakfast came well presented and with two rounds of toast, lovely. On completing this review the site said it was closed but appears to be open from 8am. No problem in recommending. They also had a specials board for lunch with reasonably priced choices.

This was our first visit to Joanies Kitchen. Cute little cafe and friendly staff, although when my breakfast arrived with a scrambled egg and I asked for a fried egg I was told that they don't fry anything! To then later see a chap eating a fried egg!

This was our first visit to Joanies Kitchen, Langley Moor. Our takeout breakfast was really nice but for the price we would have expected some black pudding and a hash brown 😋

Really enjoyed my lunch in this great cafe in Langley Moor. I was walking up the street, looking for somewhere to eat, and a local man pushing a stroller advised me to go to Joanies - 'lovely little place', he said. The small cafe was full of local people at lunchtime, and I really enjoyed my corned beef pie, mushy peas and mash. @ £5 something, cheap at half the price! Very much recommended.

Had a Full English Breakfast here...Was a bit worried as just started my New Year Diet but She said it was All cooked with no fat...So really enjoyed it!...Came with 2 Slices Of Toast & a Cuppa...Very Cosy & Clean...Would Recommend xxx

Met a friend here for lunch. Never been here before. The café is situated on the main street of this small Town. There is no parking but you can park in the Tesco's car park across the road. The staff were very friendly and let me wait without ordering. The café was quite busy but people come and go reasonably quickly. The place is clean and tidy and has a cosy feel. There is a standard menu but there were about eight daily specialis on the board including Greek Salad, homemade quiche and salad, pie, potatoes and mushy peas, which my friend opted for I had the beans on toast, which came with two slices of toast and plenty of beans. I had the red berry tea and my friend had ordinary tea The bill came in just over £11. So good value for money. There were quite a few people coming in for takeaway sandwiches. There was a reasonable range of cakes. There is a toilet which was very clean. Really enjoyed it.

Just a spot on little cafe serving proper homemade food and a good range of drinks, including a wonderful array of coffees...blended with a warm welcome, pleasant ambience, tasteful interior, and service with a genuine smile...no wonder it has such a regular customer base.

Joanie's has been open for 12 years tomorrow (12 Jan). It's a lovely friendly place for a coffee or a bite to eat. Highly recommended. 😃😃😃

Joannie and Janet are wonderful hosts. Atmosphere is so friendly and they go beyond just being the 'workers'. I have been going there for a number of years and the good and chatter with regulars is second to none. Worth a drop into if you're passing. I am sure you will be made very welcome.
