Hidden little gem ... proper (home) cooked food like lasange, sweet chilli chicken and salmon. The cafe has a great community atmosphere, I have made friends from going there. Very obliging to change or amend the menu as Im often on special diets. A really decent coffee, and a great place for young people to pick up some work experience.

What an incredible find, it’s actually in Tyler’s Green, right on the Green beside the Duck Pond. We drive all over the country and are totally unfamiliar with this area. We stumbled across this delectable cafe purely by accident. On arrival a lovely friendly welcome. A display of FRESHLY prepared and varied products. We opted for the Quiche, Quinoa and Beetroot Salad, Danish and some lovely coffees. We were blown away with the quality and freshness of all the products. This is an absolute gem of a cafe and is so obviously run by a chef/patron who is passionate about his products and offerings. This is one place well worth making a detour for.

Our usual venue to interrupt our daily 4 mile around the village walk from home. Its the home for wanderers from Penn and Tylers Green where we meet up and put the world to rights. A great way to waste time in comfort.

JJ's always makes everyone welcome and the food is always excellent. On the right day sitting outside is really lovely, watching the world go by and peoples by the pond and on the village green.

This deli is in a beautiful setting by the duck pond in Penn village. It's small but very well stocked, lots of south African delicacies available to buy. I think this place has the best choice of sandwich fillings I've been to, there is so much choice! You could go every day for lunch and have a different sandwich filling!! Bread is of good quality, particularly the brown loaf and you can buy loaves of it here. You always get a good coffee and the staff are pleasant and friendly, it can get very busy but that's the sign of a good thriving business isn't it?

What great value for money. Delivered to us,delicious, more than enough and really reasonably priced. I have often been disappointed with Chinese takeaways but Peking House is one I will be coming back to.

It's a nice place to pop in for a coffee or light lunch from the deli-style counter. I have to say I was a little disappointed with my chilli chicken sandwich it tasted as brill as always but felt that there wasn't as much filling as normal- charging too much for well.. A little bit less.

You'll not find a better spot for a great coffee and/or lovely food for breakfast or lunch. Eat inside or outside and the views are amazing across the common and Penn pond. Alternatively sit on the benches in front of the pond with a take away. High recommend it.

As we left this cafe, I commented to my husband that I was surprised that cafe staff hadn't been wearing gloves. I also saw someone dish out lasagne and he touched the plate of food several times with his hands. Then I read other reviews and saw others had noted the same. To be honest I'm always fussy about reheated hot food - especially rice which is a real breeding ground for dangerous bacteria. I definitely wouldn't go for these items in a cafe like this. Food choice was good and selection of drinks good. It's not a deli though, it's a cafe. I'm afraid the grubbiness and poor hygiene would put me off a return trip.

I'm really in 2 minds about leaving a review for this hidden gem as I don't really want too many people to know about it! It is situated by Penn Pond and the village green, so on a Summers day you won't find a better view. Seating inside and out. Although small in size, the welcome you receive is very big. Smiley friendly staff, freshly cooked and prepared food (you can take away too), daily papers and even toys for kiddies are what make this Delicatessen a great place. Coffee quality(Illy) is top knotch. Fresh food to take away includes roasted vegetables, pasta, lasagne, lemon chicken, bbq chicken, fishcakes (All made by Jamie the owner). The bread is fresh daily. Loving the brown bread as includes linseed and other tasty seeds. Also sells the bread to take away. Selection of fresh juices and smoothies in fridge. Excellent value!

right opposite the pond, this is a great spot to divert for coffee. I grabbed a paper from the shop nextdoor and sat inside - easy service. Hidden gem!

JJs has been consistently servicing tasty food and coffee for a few years now. The sandwiches are good and coffee very good. It's normally packed and deservedly so. It's a nice place to go to watch village life drift by (unlike other reviewers I'm not aware it's has a loo and my observation of hygiene is they are on top of it)

Not a deli, more a terrible transport cafe. Whilst I was waiting for my sandwich to be made, one of the staff was peeling cooked bacon off a large tray, with his bare hands and pressing into some plastic dish, then decided to pass me my sandwich whist not even washing his hands, his hands had all grease on! It put me off my lunch! Staff make sandwiches with hands and don't use any form of hygienic gloves, not good. To go to the loo I had to go through the kitchen and washing up area, the floor was greasy, the tops disgusting. I would not recommend this place to anybody. The loo is in the storeroom, with lots of open food hanging around... Very poor.

Had a coffee which was ok , nothing special , also had a ciabata which I'm not sure it was , it just tasted like a dry roll , my friend had the same with different filling , but was also disappointed . The menu board did not seem to include everything as there was a cabinet which had trays of food which did not seem to be on menu board . It all seemed a bit overcrowded and muddled . It definitly was not worth the money , and we will not be returning .

This is such a lovely little place to sit and have a coffee, but to get to the loo you have to go behind the counter and through the 'kitchen' area. Unfortunately this reveals how unhygienic everything looks. On checking with Food Hygiene Rating I found it was inspected in January and given a rating of one (the lowest). Totally put off going again which is such a shame.

JJ's serves up excellent sandwiches, coffee and cakes near the duck pond in pond in Penn, just off the road between Hazlemere and Beaconsfield. Take home their wonderful, nut-free pesto, a loaf of fresh bread or even biltong. Mouthwatering.

The food is always very tasty. I get the chilli chicken sandwich every time, I can't stray from it. Always busy, once it hits 1pm there's normally a rush of people picking up and taking back sandwiches for their working lunch hour. Nice outdoor seating- you can't beat a coffee and piece of cake here. Very friendly staff. I go here regularly and enjoy it every time.

Service was good, atmosphere was great, food was a little pricey, but definately check out the expensive wine list before you book. £48 for a bottle of prosecco!!
