The braised beef brisket is very good, and the new three treasure rice is delicious and the portion is generous.

Salt and pepper shrimp, pepper pork belly soup, and beef offal are delicious and must-try. The waiters are friendly and speak Cantonese.

Worst Chinese I have ever had and very expensive for what it was. Noodle dishes come with just noodle and no other veg, choice of meat i.e. beef or chicken that was no better that a Chinese chippy. 3 meals 1 x beef noodle (very fatty), 1 x Chicken noodle (same as you get in chippy form Wing Yip, and 1 x what should have been shrimp & mushroom, had no mushroom so was offered broccoli 2 x cans soft drink and 1 x beer. offered discount for cash, cost us £53.60 Should have gone to a Chinese chippy, would have got 3 good meals + drinks for around £26.00. Very disapointed.

Update: we brought our own seafood here to have it cooked. Absolute dynamite! Ate a great meal here. Dishes all had authentic Cantonese flavors. They use high quality ingredients and make some really good soups. They are famous for their Pork Tripe and Chicken Pepper Soup which is served on a candle lit stove. Also have some seasonal seafood / fish. Best to go with someone who can order in Chinese. Apparently this place gets really busy with students during the school year.

Had a beautiful Chtinese dinner party at the Jin ji restaurant M1 4QU Portland road. 12 people catered for and the resaraunt was very busy. Our guests had such a great time and the food served was exquisitely chinese with western versions forbeginers. Brilliant staff no waits for food, all served brilliantly. No mega long waits outside like the otheres around the corner in china town.......shh Thank you lena and staff see you again very soon. Kevin and Cici Thank you guy's we come back soon

Best rice and noodles I've had in ages, fully recommend <3

The chicken breast used in the pork belly chicken has no chewy and meaty flavor, and the gravy thickened by the stir-fried beef with garlic sprouts is too thick.

The most authentic Chinese food I’ve had in the UK thus far! Had the Coconut Chicken Soup (£25) and the Braised Big Intestine Rice Noodle Soup (£10). Both were amazing. The chicken meat in the Coconut Chicken Soup was very tender (even the breast) and the soup was sweet but not heavy (unlike coconut milk-based soups). The Braised Big Intestine Rice Noodle had a thick broth and the big intestines were really flavourful. This restaurant was the highlight of my Manchester Trip and I will be back.

A good place to eat Chinese food. The ambience is nice. Feels like a proper Chinese restaurant from inside. Food is amazing but a bit pricey. So I would prefer the Chinese shop in Manchester Piccadilly garden (market street chineese shop ) over this one cause food is cheap plus it's affordable. The only issue with that place is that they have very limited items on their menu as it's a street food outlet.

This place is a whole vibe giving guangdong realness... We were met with excellent and warm service from all staff. The braised assortment was excellent, with pork intestines, chicken+pork stomach, pig skin, and chicken feet... All good offal deliciously seasoned. The pepper pig stomach and chicken soup was off the charts much better than four seasons in London which I visit frequently. So glad to have found this place during the short stay in Manchester. Total was around £33, couldn't finish the food between 2. Recommended 10/10

昨晚第一次去锦记吃饭，有惊讶到，胡椒猪肚鸡太好吃了吧，点了3个菜，没吃完打包带走了，关键是因为有事情我需要晚上10点来取，老板居然等我到10点，异国他乡的关怀让我倍感亲切，一定会再去打卡的，love it.

Small restaurant with a warm and friendly waitresses. So surprised they have goose dishes in UK. They might have Hakka chefs, most of the dishes are Hakka taste. We tried Pork bellies chicken soup and coconut chicken soup, they were very tasty, especially have them in cold and rainy nights.

We stopped here on chance on a busy Saturday evening … really glad we did !! 👍 The food was probably some of the best chinese food we’ve ever tasted - all beautifully cooked & huge portions. We had crabmeat & sweetcorn soup, prawn sesame toast, beef green pepper & black-bean sauce, sweet & sour chicken, egg fried rice & salt & pepper chips - we couldn’t fault anything & will be back when we are next in Manchester city centre 10/10 🌟

i would not recommend this place, as the food is so much better at other chinese restaurants and the staffs were terribilly mannered, they act like as if they're the customers and we are serving them.

Food quality is okay but very dishonest. Make sure you check the bill every time before paying. Our bill was nearly £20 higher than what it should be because they charged more on four dishes and claimed that new staff was not familiar with the price. Well I was not convinced by what they said. Very dishonest people. Will not visit again.

No photos because I'm always too busy eating. No names as I've no idea what I was eating because a Chinese pal placed the order. I think we started with pork and peppercorn soup and a pot of green tea. The soup was served on a burner to keep it bubbling away. I don't know what cuts there were in there but the peppercorns woke up the taste buds. Next there was something fishy on a soft batter and rich sauce, slow cooked belly pork slices and a cabbage dish. Too much for two, so four plastic containers were produced to take the swag away. I'll be back and I hope that Google Translate can cope.

The food is very oily. We order a pork leg rice and the pork leg is full of fat and pork skin without any meat inside. I don't know what I'm eating actually. And we also order sour vegetables squid rice and it came out as sour vegetables pork intestine rice. We tell the waiter and she did not admit her fault. She claim that she had already repeated our order and we didn't listen properly 🙂. But at first why she didn't take our order correctly instead of saying that it's our mistake. Since we don't eat pork intestine and pork fat, we ended up not eating the food and paying £40 and we are still hungry🙂. We want to pay by card but this restaurant only accept cash because they want to escape tax 🙂. Anyway, I won't return to this nasty restaurant again.

Absolutely authentic Chinese food. Nice service that is not usually to experience in Manchester Chinese restaurants. The soup, coconut water, fried rice are really 👍🏻

To be honest, I think it’s the best restaurant with local Cantonese favor food in Europe. The staff are nice and the food are authentic Cantonese local food style from Guangdong, although it’s not the traditional Chinese BBQ Cantonese restaurant from HK, the food are more local there with really similar taste like Guangdong Favor. Especially the coconut chicken Pot and the Pork belly chicken Pot, definitely worth to try if you like the Cantonese Food.

招牌椰子雞湯雖然有點貴，但物有所值 Delicious Chicken Soup with Coconut, it is £25. A little bit expensive, but worth to try

从爱丁堡来曼城游玩，三天吃了两次，牛腩饭，猪脚饭，牛杂煲，猪肚鸡汤都很推荐！！！魂牵梦萦的味道……

特别好吃，猪肚鸡，牛杂煲等招牌都不错，扬州炒饭粒粒分明师傅功力可见一斑，鸡汤什锦煲很清甜，广东人点赞

Great place to eat, friendly staff and decent prices

Most dishes are decent but you need to know what to choose. I would recommend their coconut chicken. Their spicy food is average. But I suppose it is normal since the region where they come from doesn't have too much spicy food.

This was our first time trying this place and the decorations does look like the restaurants in China. Yet, the customer services was appalling! We’ve order two dishes and two bowl of rice. They first served us wrong with the same dish that other table have ordered. The staff came back and apologies that this is not ours then took it away. One of our dishes arrived and yet we were almost finishing our food, the hotpot dish is still missing! I did not like the fact they have firstly served us the dish and expecting us to wait for the other dish to arrive when we have almost finished our food and full. Ending up we didn’t finish the second dish because it was COLD after the long wait for the other dish to come. Besides, they did not give us any side plates until we have asked. Nonetheless, they only gave us one spoon when there is two person. We paid £30.80 in cash because the don’t take card payments another restaurant who is trying to escape tax! I am not returning to this place because the food is not that outstanding but average. The price is similar to the places in Chinatown. Happy Season and Wasabi is a lot cheaper and better than them.

I have been living in Manchester for over 10 years and I can honestly say this is THE BEST and THE MOST AUTHENTIC Cantonese restaurant in town. There are many dishes you can’t find in other restaurants and their soups are amazing! Highly highly recommend! Best dishes: 胡椒豬肚雞湯 椰汁芋頭排骨 羊腩煲 It’s now my go-to for Chinese food!

Although the decor & ambiance are quite good - it resembles a traditional Chinese restaurant of old, it is a bit chilly here (my family visited in January) - so you may have to keep your coat on ! I noticed a halogen heater pointed in the direction of another table (maybe you can get warmer if you are close to a power socket...) The food is OK - and it is slightly cheaper than the average Manchester Chinatown restaurant (my wife liked the casseroles pictured), & there is a good variety of rice & noodle dishes available. Customer service wise, it is "nominal" with at times, service without a smile. The restaurant seems to have a target clientele of ethnic Chinese, given many slogans & words inside don't have an English translation, although English menus are available.
