Loved our 1st Korean meal here! Great flavours and service.

Kimchi quality was terrible. It was too old. This quality of Kimch, we do not eat even ordinary korean homes. During the BBQ time the staff did not supported us at all.

Been drawn to visiting this place as they sell spicy raw crab. Decided to go all out with the family, found some dishes overpriced like their vegetable dish and chicken Katsu. The most disappointing bit is that the spicy raw crab tasted like ammonia, decided to take it home and order another one to compare whether it was just an dodgy batch and eat in the comfort of my own home. Both batch tasted like ammonia, googled to why this could be and it mentions that this come be signs of old crabs rather than fresh (or freshly defrosted) which is worrying and I didn’t feel it was safe to continue eating.

I tried a variety of dishes here from the Korean BBQ, to fried chicken, to pajeon. Everything was tasty. Having someone cook the BBQ for you at the table was handy especially when you have small children to look after. They even change the griddle plate regularly to prevent smokeyness in the restaurant which is also a nice touch. I just wish they would grill the meats at a slightly higher temp - the grill wasn't hot enough to char the meat. Other than that, everything was tasty

Authentic Korean food, great variety of dishes with all the staples plus some known only to Korean families (for example kal-guk-su is a homemade noodle soup that I can either cook myself or find in restaurants in Korea only, it’s the first time I see it in a menu in England). We loved eating here.

My husband brought me two bowls of Samgyetang yesterday, and I was really disappointed because I've had good experiences with the Galbi Tang. You only need two things to make a good Samgyetang: fresh ingredients and time. You don't need a special recipe, special skills magic touch so called 'SonMat' in Korean. But the first thing I noticed was the smell. It wasn't the fragrant aroma of fresh chicken, ginseng, and other medicinal ingredients, but the smell of simmering and boiling over and over again. It's not easy for chicken to smell like this. You can say that it's a long simmer, but in this case, it was not just a long simmer, but an unnecessary off-flavour that comes from multiple simmers. To cover up this unpleasant smell, the broth was very salty. Secondly, the rice inside the chicken was non- glutinous rice and it didn't taste like it was cooked with uncooked rice, which would have cooked and infused the flavours of the chicken and the broth, but the rice inside the chicken was a white, textureless substance that had no flavour or texture. My son and I, both of us being huge Samgyetang lovers, ate a tiny wing and a leg and left it all behind, despite how hungry we were.

Service was a bit slow, catered more towards the bigger tables. But food was good.

The food was so delicious and fantastic, and the staff's attitude was so warm. I will go again in the future.

Spicy raw crab, a big surprise!

I used to hold this Korean restaurant in high regard. While the complimentary side dishes (ban chan) are still a nice touch, the quality of the meats has significantly declined. The restaurant uses coal for their Korean BBQ, which sounds great in theory, but the lack of flame meant the meats were slowly cooking on the grill, missing that essential charred flavour. Our order: ⭕️ Galbi Tang: Their famous beef short rib soup was mild in flavour, though it had a generous portion of meat. It was comforting but lacked the depth and richness I was hoping for. The broth was clear and hearty with a good meat-to-broth ratio. ⭕️ Tteokbokki: The rice cakes in spicy sauce had good, authentic flavours. However, the dish was heavy on onions and only had a couple of pieces of fishcake, which felt a bit unbalanced. The vibrant red sauce promised heat and flavour, but the imbalance in ingredients was a letdown. ❌ Korean BBQ (King Rib and Pork Belly): The quality of the meat was poor. The king rib was chewy and lacked tenderness, while the pork belly was very standard. The slow cooking on the grill didn’t help, leaving the meats underwhelming. Visually, the BBQ meats on the grill missed the appealing char you usually forward to with KBBQ, leading to a presentation that didn’t quite match the expected flavours. I wouldn’t recommend visiting for Korean BBQ, but some of the cooked dishes might still be worth trying if you’re in the area. Saying this, it’s no longer worth making a special trip.

Had the korean bbq and other dishes. I recommend the Wang galbi and daeji galbi. The table next to us asked us what we got because it smelled/looked really good. Was a bit on the expensive side (around 40~60£ per person) but service was excellent and they changed the grilled very often for us.

Having visited this restaurant 6 years ago and enjoyed it I was looking forward to it having returned from an extended absence. 6 years on the decoration is a little tired outside. The interior has remained largely the same with a sense of familiarity. The food was just as good as I remembered and it was nice to eat there. The Chapchae was good was the Kimchi Chigae, the Pajeon was nice just like the ones i had in Czech republic in a Korean restaurant and when i worked in Korea. Maybe Ill try Pudichigae next time im there though I do make my own. :) The Korean tea was nice as i hadn't had it for soo long. I do miss a good Gakdogi with my noodles, authenthic Tteok-bokki but what i missed most was Dotori-muk and Yukwa. Ill visit again when im in the area. Maybe you should too.

Didn’t enjoy this food. Really not good. £3.99 for some salad leaves .. wow. The cucumber kimchi was very hard definitely not soft. Or pickled . Just a pile of hot paste and onions on top of towers of cucumbers. The chicken was ok . Too much batter . Oh well !! Never mind

I ordered a Korean traditional food called 'SunDae' like Scottish black pudding. The price is 19 pounds. We can not eat this, looks like disgusting and texture like very slimey and finally taste like (I can not find a word ) soggy mash potato with pot noodle soup powder base. Before I ordered I asked how much portion would be, a man said it is about 1.5 person portion. He did not explain one third would be terrible SunDae, 2 third would be sliced liver/kidney/pig ear. When the other man packed and passed to me SunDae, he did not say a word at all. Very unfriendly. Steamed Spare Ribs was too sweet. I do not think a cook does not know how to. Very disappointed at this time for last 20 years experience where I visited here.

Food is good, but always feel hurried eating here as they are so keen to turn the tables over. Part of the pleasure of eating BBQ is that food is cooked at the table and eaten at the best moment. That is somewhat ruined when servers come over and puts raw meat onto cooked meat in order to hurry us along.

Birthday lunch with the girls and we enjoyed the lovely meal, and the quick and efficient service. Would love to come back again. The staff and crew were amazing.

Came late to our reservation but still treated with great service. The prices will knock you off but when when the food comes... 😍😍😍 it’s so worth it and the portions are great too. Can’t wait to go back.

Food was average, Korean fried chicken was too greasy flavourless and bulgogi was tough. Staff were really helpful and kind but there’s much better bbq restaurants in new Malden.

Galbitang is a must, the soup was clear, not greasy and flavourful. Haemul pajeon was crispy but lack of flavour and the beef quality wasn’t great which is disappointing because they were quite expensive compared to the other dishes. Would definitely return for the galbitang and to try the pork bbq and hotpot dishes.

I experienced a terrible dining experience today. I made a reservation for 7 o'clock in advance. Because I was dining with children, I confirmed the dining seats in advance before driving there with my family. When we arrived at the restaurant on time, there was a long queue and I was told that all table reservations have to queue. We had to wait, and I was extremely disappointed to learn that there were still people in the queue who had made reservations at 6:30pm and had not yet served. I went to the restaurant to inquire about reservations, but no one answered. I asked how long I would have to wait, but no one answered. I understand that the restaurant is busy on Saturdays, but if you have a confirmed reservation, it cannot be fulfilled. Very disappointing as the little kid was very hungry and had to leave the restaurant. Terrible service, will never come back. Everyone have the booking in advance need to pray the god you will have seats.

We booked a table for 4 people at 7 o'clock. When we arrived at the restaurant at 7 o'clock, there was a long queue. The people in the restaurant ignored us and pretended to be deaf and dumb. The people who had booked for 6:30 in front of us had not yet eaten, so we left angrily.

Koreans shouldn't go there with high expectations. I haven’t tried meat, but it might be delicious.?

Service, food and environment are decently good. Nothing is outstanding. 8 parking spaces are right in front of the restaurant.

Even though there weren't many customers, they put five of us in a four-person seat, and while we were eating yakiniku, smoke rose, and a female waitress came over and said, ``Please decide your order now.If you want to order, please use the grill.'' I'll exchange it, but if you don't order it, I won't exchange it" (said with a blank stare)! Of course, I don't want to spend money with this kind of attitude! Aren't you a veteran? The service from the young staff was good! I won't go there again! Before the family epidemic situation, I left the family store, so I decided to leave the store again. I've decided to take the position of five people, so I'm only four people, and it's possible, but I don't have many people to support, and I'm going to have a big break in the vacant position! ，The store staff (Aya) directly told me the good points and decided on the meal.，The point was not corrected!The original plan was fixed. People don't like food, and they don't want to eat anything different. However, it is practical to read, and other people's clothing practices in other stores are preferable. Originally, it is the reason for the difference between the two!

Had lunch - cod cheek fillet in soup. Soup is tasteless, service is bad, always rushing in order, reply …..wouldn’t recommend!

We go by lunch and nearly full tables. The lunch set is worth to order, taste is good and services are up to standard. I would recommend to go for a quick Korean lunch here.

we ordered the half yangnyeom fried chicken and it was almost inedible. there was lack of sauce which was a shame because the little sauce there was, was nice, but also there was so much bone in the half chicken it was almost as if they fried and sauced up half the carcass of a chicken. there was barely any meat which was a shame and there was so much of it which usually is good but unfortunately not in this case. the food came quick however . . . also quite expensive for fried chicken delivery dining in is a completely different experience however.

It was pretty cool to have an actual coal bbq. Servers come and help cook and cut the meat which was great Altho sometimes they leave it too long so you have to manually intervene. Fried chicken was delicious. Many dishes I would like to come back and try

Food was ok, but felt very rushed. Not worth it unless you’re on a tight time schedule. Booked for a birthday dinner, was not allowed to cut cake. You’re be expected to leave as soon as you finish. Very hectic environment and poor customer service.

The quality of the KBBQ is great here, amazing flavours. The BBQ is coal, which enhances the flavour. It's hard to come by a real coal BBQ spot. The staff will cook the meat for you, so you can relax. It is a bit more pricy tho. All the staff were very nice and efficient.

The food quality was above average but the service was rubbish. We made the appointment of a table for eight at 6pm. The restaurant had not informed there was time limit in the restaurant before. When we almost finished at 6:50pm (!) , the staff suddenly cleared the table and asked for leaving the restaurant as someone was waiting for next time slot of dinner. The restaurant was blacklisted.

We stumbled upon this restaurant when our usual Imone was full. Although apprehensive due to the reviews we still gave it a go as the lunch menu was such a steal. We were so happy to have tried this place cause it is probably one of the best Korean lunches we've had. We had the jjampong, jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk set. And everything was flavourful and so good. At the same time all the banchan was great. We even ordered an extra kimchi cause it was so good! Kamsahamnida!

Have visited Jin Go Gae, many times through the years. Quality has gone down and prices have shot up, used to be good but can't recommend at all now.

As a Korean, I don't think Samgyetang is good. The soup doesn't have deep taste at all. I don't think it's worth £22.9

We had a fantastic dinner with some of our family. The food was super delicious with flavour we have never tasted before. We shall definitely return.

Great food however the chef on shift came out of the kitchen and stared around the restaurant with an extremely unpleasant scowl. I normally really enjoy this restaurant however this negative experience could not be overlooked. If i’m paying to eat out I expect a good atmosphere not spoiled by miserable staff.

The Ojingeo Bokkeum was delicious, but don't order the fried chicken, there are small pieces of bone inside of it, overall it was a good restaurant.

The food and flavours were good what there was of it. The bbq is a real novelty but service needs to be improved and value for money is not good, very overpriced. When you ask a waitress for something three times and they still dont bring it there is clearly something wrong.

We went as a table of 5 as regular customers but this time the kimchi and the beansprouts made us sick. Food was fabulous and that was the only downside.

One of the worst Korean takeaways I’ve had. We ordered the military stew, tteok bokki (paid extra for cheese), and the half and half yangyeom and original chicken, and before delivery price it came to £80! The fried chicken was so soggy especially the yangyeom chicken which didn’t have yangyeom flavour, it was more generic sweet spicy sauce, and the chicken pieces were all full of small bones like from the rib part of the chicken, barely any meat, for £30 with some pickled radish The tteok bokki had only a handful of rice cakes in it and was mostly slices of cooked onion and bell peppers, with a tiny sprinkle of cheese, and half a boiled egg, for £15 The military stew was the worst, and nothing like other army stews I’ve had. The soup was thin and bland, the rice cakes and noodles were mushy and overcooked, then there were some little shreds of pork, and a tiny bit of meats, for £35. Portions were small, ingredients felt like the bare minimum was there to satisfy what was needed for the recipe with lots of filler ingredients and sauce, and generally all the food was so lacking in flavour. So so disappointing and such a waste of money.

One of the top Korean restaurants in London. Very fast service and fresh food. They help you with the BBQ, checking to make sure it's cooked and ready. Marinated beef short rib was to die for, very tender and flavoursome. However the beef kalbi in diamond shape was disappointing, very chewy even though it was marbled cut. This was more expensive than the marinated version. Mix veg not worth the money, a few slices of carrots, onions and courgettes for £11!

Food was great, but the portions are quite small considering what you pay. Imagine being hungry after a rice bowl.

What was a great restaurant in the past is no longer. We were greeted with poor service taking 40 minutes to order and were then served a frankly disappointing dinner, see the photo of poorly fried chicken. Hopefully the picture explains all, I believe you probably wouldn't want to eat this either. Therefore, avoid.

Ordered the kimchi pancake for starters. It was burnt and tasteless. Ordered the prawn boekumbap which was the best of the food but nothing amazing and i wouldnt order it again, original fried chicken which was soft and tasted like it was premade and quickly flash fried and the Korean ramen that tasted and looked like what I would get in the supermarket in the instant noodle pot. Our food was also served to us so fast that we were very surprised. It was probably under 10 minutes between ordering and receiving our food. The younger lady working there was very unfriendly and hostile and needs to learn about customer service. When we told her the pancake was burnt and gave a burnt taste in our mouths she said that it was just crispy. The pic attached shows it was evidently burnt. She reluctantly removed this item from the bill. Overall a disappointing meal. We won't be returning as there are much better Korean restaurants in the area. Just a shame I had to waste my money at this place.

Food was cold by the time it arrived. Delivery time was pushed back at least 2-3 times on the app with not very much explanation.

I ordered about £90 of food tonight. It was expensive because I was ordering for bbq so needed the salad and ban chan sides. I ordered 1 beef and and 1 pork bulgogi dish under the bbq section but got 1 beef bulgogi rice bowl and 1 pork bulgogi rice bowl. When I called the restaurant they said that's how they do their bulgogi or that I'd ordered the wrong thing which is a bad excuse as they have pictures on the menu so I could see what I was ordering.

I went to Jingogae Restaurant and ate Ugeoji Galbitang. It was delicious and the owner was generous so he added a lot of ribs. In particular, the marinated chicken was very delicious. Highly recommended. If you go to the UK, be sure to visit.

Really good Raw Marinated Crab!! Service felt very rushed despite not being that busy, overall a great place to have Korean bbq and their signature raw marinated crab, the side dishes were okay but ridiculously expensive!! :/

Rude waitresses, always assuming the worst. They don’t write down the orders, so they got my table’s order (and the one next to me) wrong. Not worth the 10% service charge

First time visiting this restaurant, very bad service! Messed up our entire order and blamed us for it, the lady didn’t even repeat what we wanted. When it came to paying the bill they said we weren’t allowed to split & it took another waiter to take payment. Wouldn’t recommend!

Very rude experience. For starters they messed up our order completely and blamed it was our fault, when she didn’t write down or try to remember our order. We decided to keep the order she gave us instead of the ones we picked & they never acknowledge our table afterward. it took us for than 1 server to pay for our food as they kept leaving & ignoring us.

Fabulous authentic Korean food and very helpful service..

Very poor service, staff very rude and unhelpful. Dropping cutlery and plates onto the table. We asked for tap water. It never arrived. When ordering the bbq the waitress advised that it would be better to cook in the kitchen as opposed to on the bbq- looking back it’s probably because it saves them having to clean the grill on the tables for which the supposed bulgogi with squid had about 3 pieces and the rest chicken and pork. Chucked some small dishes on the table for which there was no explanation as to what it was. They asked all the other tables if the food was okay and if they needed anything but not once checked on to us. Prices were extortionate for what it was. You’re better off going to other Korean restaurants in the area.. We asked for recommendations for which they were no help at all. We are relatively I experienced in Korean cuisine and they did not help make the experience pleasant one. Took my mum there for her birthday and she had a terrible experience due to the quality of service and food. AVOID!

The food was so authentic and dense loved everything about this restaurant.The ambiance makes me feel like I’m in Korea:) The budae jjigae (army stew)was to die for, it’s a must try for everyone.Additionally the kimchi and other side dishes was splendid.The service being quite slow is the only downfall but other than that I will definitely be coming back for more.

Took ages for them to take our order. Waitress conveniently ignored/did not acknowledge raised hand. Same waitress rushed us to leave seconds after paying the bill. Asked for lettuce and garlic to garnish BBQ, but radish and spring onion also arrived (did not order). Only wanted 2 side dishes but 4 arrived, each costing £3.50. £55 per head. Small portions and high price. This restaurant has become too popular - almost arrogant to the point where they don't give a toss about good service. There are other K restaurants in the area with better food, value and service.

Probably the worst kbbq experience in London. No need to kick people out when still eating because you have customers queuing who haven’t booked in advance. Food super average as well - and NO smoke ventilation installed. Indoor smoke everywhere!

When it comes to Jingogae, it's seasoned crab paste and beef rib soup. I don't really like meat, but this is the only place I eat it. Ugeoji Galbitang is really delicious.
