Had Wonton soup with pork and Chinese spanich. It’s so good, perfect consistency and texture of the dumplings. The broth tastes so good also. Perfect comfort food. It’s one of the best things I’ve eatten in a while, honestly.

Very tasty buns! We had the pork with cabbage, wonton soup with noodles and pancake in the store then went back and got the traditional pork bun, beef and shrimp buns for takeaway. The best buns were the pork with cabbage and traditional pork buns! Highly recommend - very juicy and good meat to bun ratio. The pancake is also very tasty especially when fresh and hot You can eat in but the table/dining space is quite small/cramped so I would probably takeaway if I wasnt getting noodles/soup items

Stumbled upon this lovely little shop just outside of the Kew Gardens station. The baos were soft and warm and flavourful and is exactly what you need in winter. We went there again after having the first baos and went in again for seconds. They are on a pricer side but homemade baos are the best and so much better than the frozen ones. We ordered the pork bun, the red bean bun and the 豬肉梅菜包。My highlight was probably the red bean bun but the savoury ones were lovely too.

Jin Bao is such a hidden gem! We stumbled upon this little restaurant after walking around Kew Gardens, and I’m probably going to keep coming back now that I have the Kew Gardens membership. The buns, pancakes, and wonton soup were all quite good! I highly recommend the following: 1. Pork Buns 2. Egg and Chives Bun 3. Prawn Wonton soup 4. Pork Wonton soup 5. Pancake with Eggs 6. Red Bean Sweet Bao (for dessert) The Thai milk tea was also nice while having the dishes, although you can always go for the traditional Chinese green tea too. The space was small, with only 4 counter seats for any eating. It’s best to takeaway and eat elsewhere.

This unassuming little shop right outside Kew Gardens station is an absolute gem. The pan-fried dumplings are top notch and crispy, that's my main recommend. The bao buns are also fluffy and hit the spot. They keep all the condiments on the counter and for take away. We used to enjoy the food here. But we found the won ton noodle soup to not have the same delicious taste as it used to and same for the won tons (the texture of these were different too). We didn't even finish it and that was with two of us sharing it because it was that disappointing. The milk tea was completely lacking in flavour and milkiness and was very pricey for the tiny amount they gave you. The minimal seating area is very awkward and uncomfortable.

Mediocre food, bland, tasteless. Better options in London. Response: I ordered jianbing and soup. * jianbing was bland and the crisps were soggy. I saw the chef making the jianbing after my order, the Sriracha sauce bottle was almost empty, they didn't even bother refilling it, instead kept making jianbings with very little or no Sriracha sauce in them. * Wonton soup: the soup lacked flavours and was lackluster.

In the heart of Kew Gardens, this place offers freshly made Chinese dishes with the option to take away, or enjoy at the small seating bar inside the shop. They have an open kitchen which was nice. **The worker practically attacked me and snatched money out my hand whilst I was outside and told me to leave and that she wouldn’t serve me.** The service and attitude here was absolutely appalling. I tried to order 5 of their signature pork bao, which came to a total of £11.80. I gave the lady a £20 note and she gave me only £8 change. My mum then said she didn’t give the correct change and the lady started arguing saying she gave us more than she was supposed to - which she did not as she was short 20p. 20p isn’t the problem, the problem is her attitude. She then shoved £1 into my hand and told me to just take it. I told her it was fine, but she insisted, so I went outside to wait for my food. She then suddenly came out and snatched the £9 out of my hand and shoved a £20 into my hand and told me she wasn’t gonna serve me. I don’t know why she thought that was professional or polite to do. I don’t recommend purchasing from here, not only is it overpriced, the service is crap too.

food tasted decent but portions are super small for the price. more importantly i was disgusted when the cashier used her nails to open the bao to check that she gave me one with the correct filling after initially giving me the wrong one (prawns instead of pork). i was stunned as to how to react because at the same time she phrased it as if she was doing me a favour by opening the buns with her bare hands to check while the whole time using the same hands to run the cash register. i was disgusted and lost my appetite, the way they dealt with everything was so awkward i didnt want to kick up another fuss and just left. also, would have been terrible if i had been allergic to seafood given the only way i found out it was wrong was only after biting into it.

As an ethnic chinese, the food was ok. Dumplings were a let down. The fillings were not properly wrapped in the skin. Pan frying of the dumplings resulted in a base that was over fried and top that wasn’t as well cooked. I had the opportunity to observe the way they cooked the dumplings. Basically, they stick it on the pan and let it sit. I was disappointed to see that considering all the staff were ethnic Chinese. All things considered, this is probably as gd as Chinese food gets in London

I took some ribs for my main and only course. It took about 30 min for the food to come out, the ribs were lukewarm at best. Additionally, the ribs were very spicy, which isn't mentioned on the menu. I guess if you are into spicy food you should try the ribs. They were otherwise quite mediocre. Portion was generous enough. Very hard to get waiter's attention, they don't look around when moving between tables. Ended up going to the bar to get my bill. I used to go to this place occasionally before the new ownership, specifically for the sweet and sour ribs. Even under the new ownership, in early 2024, I enjoyed some bbq ribs. They were not at all spicy. Will not return until either variety of the old, non spicy ribs are back.
