Jim's Chinese Takeaway in Sunderland

Order a delivery last night food was really greasy over cooked and tasted burnt.

Unfortunately the rice had sauce on it when it was ordered without.

Salt and chilli chips were covered in salt granuals no sign or even hint of chilli just very salty chip inedible. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Both rice were stone cold but fried rice had a flavour of old oil. Prawn crackers bendy and tasted stale. I keep coming back to see if improved but sadly not.

Ive had to pay a 2nd delivery charge because my house number was omitted from my address. This is an issue with Justeat and not the restaurant. You no longer have my house number for some reason! Will i becompensated, or i will delete my account 🤔

Everything was way over cooked, to be honest it looked and tasted like it had been reheated a few time. Another good takeaway gone rapidly down hill. Won’t be back.

I don’t know what they put in the sauce on the ribs but it must be crack. Absolutely banging. I awoke from a haze and I’d eaten the entire thing, sauce all over my face.

Plain chicken wings so tiny and dried out hard to tell what was meat or bone. Duck was more like hard shards rather than shredded, Pancakes completely stuck together couldnt separate them at all without tearing into shreds Very disappointed overall and duck definitely not worth that price.

Fast delivery food was red hot and very tasty

I have found my new favourite Chinese.. ordered Duck with prawns,meat and veg.. Amazing. . Big chunks of duck and meat cooked perfectly and the prawns of which i get half a dozen are big .. Even the gravy was tasty.. Well done Jim's.

Chicken chow mien, rice, chips, curry sauce. All delicious as usual!

Food was barely warm and salt and chilli chips were very dry. Ordered here for the first time for a change from my usual as I wanted the convenience of card payment and delivery but it just was not nice, the only nice thing were the spring rolls

Usually good food but it was off tonight. No curry sauce, half portion of dry chips. All the wraps with the duck were stuck together. Not sure if these have been took over but it was terrible compared to what I’ve had in the past.

Love the food from here. Just a bit rubbish when your delivery turns up and you're told they have no change to give you so end up paying more for your food. Also sending a child to the door to tell customers this isn't great

Never turned up, ordered 2 and a half hours ago! Been "out for delivery" for over an hour, unhelpfulwhen you phone! Why take orders if you can't fulfil them?!

Delivery took well over 2 hours to arrive and the food looks like it's been sat for most of that. Avoid!

The chips tasted like they had been reheated and were solid and difficult to eat. The curry itself looked to have been reheated also and was really thick. Fried rice tasted ok with the spring rolls but overall the food didn’t taste fresh at all.

King prawns in fried rice were rubbery on the outside but slimy in the middle so left them in case not safe to eat

Can't fault anything. food nice, delivery on time. Will definitely be back again.

2nd time in a row delivery person could not find me despite ordering from the same place for nearly 2 years!

Late by over an hour, delivered by a driver that had no idea what he was doing. Received the total wrong order, the order recived was for a man named Michael that lives in oxclose his receipt was in the bag with the food. Called the restaurant 4 times was told the driver would be back with the correct items, he didn't turn up, went to the restaurant today and they've refused to rectify the mistake. Terrible customer service, won't be ordering from here again.

waited 1 hour and 45 mins for our food. over 40 mins later then suggested time. spoke to the restaurant a couple of times and got the generic 'it's out with the driver' I get its a Saturday night but shouldn't take on more than you can manage. the food arrived cold and stale. Most of it went in the bin and it wasn't a cheap order. Safe to say I won't be going back. delivery driver was spot on and apologised. wasn't his fault though

First time we've been disappointed from here, order regularly, but tonight, food was late and cold, didn't enjoy.

21.15 and order still ain't here. Placed order at 19.23. Despite being told its on its way ..it's not. Multiple times I've called to be told its on its way. 30 mins ago it was 15 mins away. Driver busy. No help from owners at all all you get is on its way. Do NOT ORDER FROM HERE IF YOU WANT FOOD THIS CENTURY. ABSOULUTE DISCRACE COULD HAVE WENT TO CHINA AND BEEN BACK IN THE TIME ITS TOOK. 2120 AND ITS STILL NOT HERE

Food not arrived yet it’s really really late. Usually very tasty but very disappointed it hasn’t arrived

As Jim’s regulars this was shockingly bad! Reheated chips, burnt chicken balls and kung po described as mild was spicier than any normal spicy dish I’ve had. Worst food for a long time. Dissapointed!

Food absolutely vile. Stale chips, stale prawn crackers, stale prawn toast. Some sort of sauce on the special chow mien and it’s not stated and was horrible. Worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Will be requesting a refund!

Stale chips, noodles and rice. Chicken was chewy, seems to be aome correlation with other reviews. Wouldn't recommend.

Prawn crackers were stale chips were reheated not fresh food was very cold.

Mixed reviews- so late! 1 hr. I called 15 mins after the food was due and was told the driver hadn’t been. After an hr late it arrived, hot. The noodles weren’t nice and dry. The curry was nice. Disappointed as eating close 830pm on Saturday wasn’t what I expected

Worst Chinese ever. Was 2 hours late, ordered for a quick tea for the family after a busy day; my kids either went out or went to sleep. Arrived cold and inedible. Salt and chilli chips were the worst things I’ve ever tasted. It all went in the bin. Won’t be ordering from here again. Requested a refund back on my payment method and NOT my justeat account!!!

Food was good as always, but over an hour late on delivery

Lovely meal, my son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Slightly late but not a problem.

Avoid getting duck, got a half poor duck must have been starved to death. £19 wasted.

The meal was very nice as always.We order from Jim’s all of the time , spending approximately £30 each time. I have said before that it would be a nice gesture to receive free prawn crackers with meal like other takeaway outlets. Even a small portion would be great?!! for loyal customers!!!

Some dishes are great, but my overall experience from this place is just meh

Quite possibly the worst Chinese I have ever had! I ordered chicken satay skewers, these came in a sauce similar to gravy nothing like satay, also on the order was a beef and chicken salt and chilli dish, the beef was disgusting, it was burnt and inedible, the portion was also very small, same with the chips, overcooked, probably reheated and a very small portion, the gravy was like a mixture between soy sauce and plum sauce and so thick it could be sliced rather than poured..never again!!

Proper curry absolutely gorgeous thanks the king prawn rice was disappointing on my a few prawns but the rest was lovely

Singapore fried rice very poor quality hardly any meat in just a few prawns and chopped ham for what it costs its a rip off.

Absolutely horrible. Crispy seaweed tasted burned, no salt seasoning. House special black been was rancid and a 5 year olds portion of chips. AVOID THIS TAKEAWAY!!!

Special rice was good, chips were hard and dry, prawn crackers tastless stale unable to eat either, disappointed as usually ok from here.

Used to love Jim’s and I’ve tried to stay loyal while the new owners take over but after tonight I give up food quality is extremely poor I really would recommend people order elsewhere

Food was all fine, apart from we ordered salt and pepper chilli chips but were given normal chips?

Whole meal went in bin chips dry Egg fu Yung in bin toast like powered food dish Another dish was disgusting all in bin

Food arrived over 45 minutes later than the later est delivery time over 2 hours after it was ordered...but after a short spin in the microwave the food was very good..shame about the delivery

The food we had was very nice & it was nice & warm. Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken curry. Mushroom chowmein was lovely too.

This place has gone down hill fast ...food ok.... horrible service at till especially when you ask for a dish without certain ingredients due to allergies you feel guilty asking ...quoted 20mins for over counter meal waited for 1 hour avoid

I often call in here on a weekend for food it's aways spot on and I have never had any bad turns off it ...Also staff are very pleasant and make you feel welcome 😊

First time ordering here and afraid to say will be the last, sorry Jim!. House special salt and chilli was bland, tasted more of salt more than chill, fried rice was bland. Chips were mediocre. Prawn crackers and my girlfriends curry were nice though haha, but as for mine nothing to write home about I'm afraid.
