My husband doesn't eat alot of chip shops but if I say jims he jumps at it .

Really friendly and like to keep talking to you while your waiting for your order food is always well prepped and is always tasty

So even tho there are nearer chip shops to us, Jim's is the one for my daughter, she absolutely loves the sausage chips and gravey and to be honest I don't eat chip shop but I do love the sausages from Jim's

Always a pleasure to visit Jim and the girls they are so polite and helpful and nothing is too much for them. The food is gorgeous never had a bad meal from there always hot and very tasty portions are good too .

Go every Friday for my pensioner dad. He loves a small fish and chips. Staff always remember you and are a pleasure to talk too.

Been going since I was young and went today and got my usal battered sausage and chips with curry. It was cooked perfect , staff are really freindly and food portion is your moneys worth if you want nice quick hot meal. Highley recomened to anyone who is visiting hull

I visited Jim s last night after 6.30pm and nothing was to much even though it was closing at 7pm. Amazing fish n chips and great mushy peas 🫛 enjoyed by myself and my mum. Thanks so much

Buy Pattie and Cone of Chips for my 88 year old mum every week. She says that they are the best patties she has ever tasted...and she has had quite a few. Even manages 2 meals out of it.

First time trying this chippy fish was and soft and the batter crispy spot on for me. Curry sauce was really nice aswell. Staff was lovely also will definitely be going back.

Went into Jim's today. Got the jumbo haddock. Was lovely worth the money. I recommend Jim's to anyone. Get the fish for my granddaughter.always as she won't have it from anywhere else. The staff always realy nice. 👍

wet in today for a regular lightly done fish was charged £6 plus 50p for the box what i got for the old lady was a crispy curled up so called fish the size of 2 lge fish fingers the box weighed more than the fish i couldnt take payment off the old lady in a home as her treat was discusting

First time at Jim's and only went because of the reviews. The place was busy and waited awhile! Staff we really good but heard they were short staffed that night. Got home to a fish and chips that were very dry and the curry wasn't nice very bitter no flavour. My son said the same about his as well so it wasn't just me being picky! Disappointed with the experience. Will return to my usual chippy I'm afraid.

Always use Jim's, friendly staff always efficient, the food is always cooked fresh to order, I usually ring up and collect with no issues ever the fish is a family favourite it's so fresh and meaty and the spam deluxe are just amazing too there my sons favourite, I highly recommend you won't be disappointed 😊

Credit where credits due. Cannot fault this place at all. Usually get the family meal deal and if you don't like a certain item on the deal they will happily change it for something else you like. The portions are really good size, always fresh and hot. Easily feeds a family of 4 plus the mother in law. Best chippy around by far. Great customer service, nothings too much to ask. Keep up the good work.

Ordered from here tonight. Was awful. Told us the incorrect price for us to be messing about getting more money out as we didnt have a bank card for them to then tell us it was actually £15. “Large” chips was more like a small. Didnt even get an apology for the mess up that was there fault. Definitely wont be going back

Like Jims when I go over to the darkside of 'ull, never had a bad meal yet, fish fresh and really tasty and great patties. Oh and good portions always come away feeling full, friendly staff .

Stopped here on the way home to the Netherlands from York & Hull. We'd walked to the (reportedly) 4th best chip shop in Hull (Cave St) but it was shut, so we headed for Hull's (reportedly) best chip shop by cab. It was worth the trip. These were among the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Everything was fried to order. The fish was absolutely fresh, with light and very crispy batter. The chips were perfect chip shop chips (which is something I miss in the Netherlands) and not at all greasy or oily. The entire meal was as good or better than anything I've eaten anywhere in Yorkshire or the rest of the UK. And it cost less than a tenner a head. Jim's is an estate chippy, takeaway only and cash only, out of town and off the main roads. It will always be my last stop on the way to the ferry. Highly recommended.

Great fish and chips cannot beat the place

Had heard of Jim s chippy so as I was up there at graft I gave it a go , and was nt disappointed it was lovely , Jumbo.haddock so succulent and tasty and my pattie was excellent , had a good chat with Jim and his wife all together superb experience 👍👏👏

Nice fish got some on my way home with food from few doors down, and everyone was eating pizza and fish 😂 don't! New to the area but found my favourite pizza and fish shop!!

Food for me was really greasy, the ladies who served me didn't even smile once, it was like I was a pain to be there at that point.

I love Jim's fish and chips. Been going weekly for years now and never had a bad meal. Fish, chips, spam fritters sausages and patties all really crispy and tasty. Curry sauce and peas both excellent. Jim and his staff are always so friendly and give you a smile with your order! Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Jims is a family run chippy, use it regular never had any issues everything always nice and cooked fresh. Staff really friendly and go that extra mile.

Fantastic fish and chips. Fish is always super fresh and tastes lovely. Staff are great and very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Thay are also open through the day so you can always get a meal even if your lunch break is delayed .

Well first time I've been in and it will be the last ,my large fish was so greasy it left the batter on the grease proof paper , fish was tastless and at the end was hard lumps of fish ,looks like it had been defrosted before battering it , chips where scraggy ,sorry to write this but if I don't say anything you carnt rectify it , the wife said her spam fritter was nice ,

Jim's plaice was recommended by a friend who lives locally, I enjoyed the fish, but i'm not to keen on the chips from any fishshop as I prefer to cook them myself, but having said that, i would recommend Jim's Plaice for the well cooked haddock.

Warmly greeted by the owner and a very friendly atmosphere all around. Chips were cooked perfectly as was the sausage ordered. Breadcakes were lovely and soft. Only went on a whim but so glad I did. Will be returning there very soon.

First time coming to Jims and can honestly say the best fish and chips i have had in Hull. Gravy was to die for and i judge on the quality of Patties. Honestly the best ever. Very cheap and excellent quality of fish. Will definitely be regulars now from The Gardeners Country Inn team.
