Amazing bar. Disappointed by food Badly presented and not to menu. All stodgy and basically very frier friendly. Had to struggle to get the accompliments to the platter. No pickles and bar staff were argumentative. Could be amazing with a decent menu and some sort of presentation. Food looked sooooooo bad

I worked close by for a while and regularly used this as a quiet and friendly lunchtime bolt-hole.. great burgers too! On the back if this, I ended up (after looking at several local options) booking part of the venue for my evening birthday/retirement event (for 70 people). The team there were very helpful in suggesting options re food, drinks etc and the evening was a great success, due in no small part to the hard work and flexibility of the team on the night. I know that some people who attended the event who hadn't been there before are now regulars. Highly recommended.

We were having a small gathering to celebrate a colleague leaving and headed to Jamies. It's a great bar, down in the cellar, and the brickwork and setting is fascinating and gives it a great feel. Staff were helpful, range of drinks was good and a decent wine list if that's your choice. It wasn't overly packed and not your typical City Suits bar, nice mix of people.

Nice looking place but the food was v poor - we both had the double cheeseburger, it was like something from a roadside van on the motorway. Greasy, grey and a weirdly small sliver of cheese. Halloumi fries ok but not great.

I work really close to Jamies and have come in for lunch a few times. Last night a friend and I went in for drinks after work, the manager served us initially and we ordered 2 gin and tonics - he said that doubles were only £9.50 but we confirmed we wanted singles. All fine. We took it in turns to get drinks and after the first drink would only get 1 tonic to share. On my 3rd round at the bar I was served by one of the barmen and I asked for 2 silent pools and 1 tonic - I had my card out ready to pay and he mumbled the price and very quickly tapped the machine next to my card, before I could properly look at the price and I was concerned that he had over charged me, so I asked for a receipt. The barman instantly became defensive and annoyed about the fact I'd asked for a receipt and on observing the receipt he had charged me for 2 doubles - I told him that I had not asked for doubles - he shrugged his shoulders and smirked, I said again that I never asked for doubles, he said "you are having Silent Pool gin - they are always doubles" and I told him that was absolute rubbish because my friend and I had been drinking singles of Silent Pool all night. The barman got very defensive and poured the drinks away, poured new drinks and said I would have to speak to a manager, so I waited. He then served someone else. A couple of minutes later I asked have you called the manager and the barman said no - I said that I was waiting there until I saw a manager - the barman then got the card machine out tapped in £7.50 and told me to tap or insert my card - I asked how I know that is a refund and that I'm not being charged a further £7.50 - he then cancelled the transaction and re-entered and this time it said refund!! I tapped my card to retrieve the refund and the card machine then required a managers pin to authorise it - the manager then happened to pass by - I told him that I had been charged for doubles that I didn't ask for and was waiting for my refund. The manager was very efficient and asked me exactly what it was I ordered and instantly refunded me the correct amount £10.50!!! Absolutely awful barman hoping to overcharge drunk people hoping they wont notice and then when caught tries to refund you less than what you are owed. Even though the manager was kind and helpful, I dread to think how many other people this happens to and perhaps don't notice - very dishonest way to behave. I will never go back to Jamies for lunch or a drink and will advise my friends and colleagues to go elsewhere.

We went there for a Team lunch, 10 of us. We arrive right on time . A table of 6 arrive after us and got served before us. Then another table that arrived after us Algo got served! We had to ask several times as we were not given any feedback by the waitress. After the 3rd time we asked after 1.hour they started serving us, however people didn’t get their meal almost 15 mins after everyone else. Very poor! We guessed they got something wrong in the order, but they never told us. We got a discount, but it is not worth the pain for sandwiches and burgers. We just wanted a nice team meal and it was just a joke.

thought I would give this a try being new to the area. What a shame. Very disappointing. Nice place, service shockingly slow. Waiting over 40 mins for a cold salt beef sandwich that was less satisfying than a prepacked sandwich from boots. I did advise the server that we were very disappointing and she did take the cost of the food from our bill, but that is not the point. we spent an an hour and a half of our lunch break there and got rubbish .

We went for lunch during the week. After half an hour I asked whether our starters could be brought out soon and also whether the main meal could follow in quick succession given that the food was taking a while. The waitress seemed surprised that I was following up on where the food was. It was frustratingly slow service for a weekday lunch. I had to get up and go and find the waitress to pay. The food was good but make sure you have more than an hour for lunch if you go here.

I realise that rents and rates in this part of the world are high and restaurants need to make a living, but the sandwiches here are not good. I had a beef sandwich. Said sandwich was made with very thick cut granary bread, which would have been nice if it had some butter on it, but as dry bread I found it difficult to swallow and left most of it on the plate. The bread also felt slightly stale to the touch as if it had been sitting around for a while. In between these two doorsteps was ONE uber-thin slice of supermarket deli counter overcooked roast beef. Horseradish was barely there. This sandwich simply had no flavour. Chips were very nice, but not good value for the £3 price tag. Not a happy lunch experience and won't be returning I'm afraid.

Its a nice venue though largely filled with middle aged men with not much lid left. I had a hoisin duck sandwich which was essentially dry bread flavored with duck dust and some long dead spring onions. They had no specials and had run out of the burgers on an already pretty empty menu. Not again

Booked a table for dinner. Called ahead to ask to be put in the restaurant area as I knew there would probably be Xmas parties on (visited on 15 Dec) I was told it was fine - so they were aware I was there for dinner. Arrived to find my table in the bar, on the outskirts of a Xmas party. Then went to order food and was told the kitchen was closed as they had a party on. I absolutely understand that Xmas parties are taking place at this time of year, but they shouldn't have accepted my booking for dinner if they knew they had another event on... especially as I called ahead of my booking to check.

Great surroundings and atmosphere. But empty of customers at 1pm on a Monday. Do not bother with the Mediterranean sharing platter for £18. A complete rip off. Crudités were half a dozen tiny slices of peppers. Halloumi kebabs were minute. Olives - yes a big bowl - but boring black olives pickled in brine - really poor - Tesco sell much better. They were so cold too. Taziki icy cold as was hummus. Two slices of flatbread were the best items. Wine was good but so it should have been at the price. So disappointing. Won't be back.

I went here for a quick drink after a meeting. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the music of Chesney Hawkes, followed by lots of other 'retro' songs. The bar is very (very) dark. At one point we weren't sure how many chairs were around the table! It's certainly cosy, and possibly a little too cosy for a post-meeting drink with colleagues! Drinks were fine, service was good, quite a nice place, but even for the romantics, a little more lighting is needed!

We arrived at the restaurant having booked it for dinner on opentable and were told on arrival that they weren't serving food!! We were told that some nachos or chips could be prepared, but that would be it. Disappointing. I was told that the restaurant has tried to call me, but I didn't have any messages on my phone - I should have been told before arriving. Has put me off ever visting a Jamie's again as by the time we arrived it was too late to book anything else. It was a shame as was looking forward to a nice dinner with my friend.

Booked lunch here on a Wednesday. No Christmas items on the menu - sandwiches and wraps is pretty much the whole - which was a bit of a bonus and no office Christmas lunches so spare seats. Despite being relatively quite service was slow and barely civil and we could see the same was true of other tables. Food was of decent quality but overall not one for Jamie to be proud of.

Not a lot good to say really. The food was OK, usual central London pub grub, service was terrible. This was a weekday lunchtime meal so time is always a factor. Waited over 10 minutes to order food and drinks, did not eat until 35 minutes after we arrived (we ordered sausages and mash, and the Thai curry). After 15 minutes of waiting after asking for the bill it did not arrive so paid on the way out via the bar. Not a single apology. The place was not busy so could not understand reason for the poor service? For their sake I hope it was an off day.

So at first it look really cute outside and in, the menu seemed to have a nice selection and staff seemed friendly. Then we ordered and it arrived within 10 minutes during a busy lunch service (not cooked fresh then) and my burger was SO dry and overdone (not that anyone asked how I liked it done) that it crumbled when I cut the burger in half. I had to ask for mayo, ketchup and salt & pepper for the chips and to make the burger edible. But it took the waitress 20 minutes to do that, and then we had to wait 40 minutes for: someone remembering our table, asking for the bill delivering the bill and paying. Shocking. Never going back.

Popped in here for a drink whilst in London. I was around 6.30 pm so mainly local office workers having a drink after work. Did,nt see anyone eating so cannot comment on the food, in fact didn't even notice a menu. Only two staff working, one was new, the other obviously was well known to regulars. Service was slow due to one staff being behind the bar and the phone kept ringing, poor girl needed to really multitask. Customers were moaning about lack of service and having to wait. Shame, the place is really nice and cosy and tucked away in a really n ice part of London.

Hey Jamies - I came across you on the web. Me - "WLTM a relatively inexpensive, simple, informal place to eat, "near" Bank station. You - lived up to those things. OK, the food is pretty simple bistro type food, including burgers, etc. But you were near Bank and a darn sight cheaper than all the other £££ places near by and the service was good. (ps I'm not suggesting you raise prices!). Lets have a second date.

I stumbled across this bar with a group of friends just the other day, the staff were lovely, very chatty and warming and the food was great! NOTHING TO DO WITH JAMIE OLIVER.There's so many Jamie's restaurants and pubs around that I thought this was just another of them. actually it's a classy little pub/ restaurant which is quirky and interesting. More of a pub with bar food than anything else but this might be because we went in December, Christmas parties were underway and it was really busy. as a result we weren't able to book (even though TT accepted our booking) and got the last table. We ordered a sharing platter as main courses aren't on the menu, but 'available on request', so this really is more a drinking place with food rather than a restaurant venue.
