I first came across this quaint cafe in the middle of Selfridges on my first visit, and since I did not have time to stop and they do not provide carry out, I returned on my next visit to enjoy the same slice of cake that I saw in the display case and couldn't have! This is the perfect spot if you are alone, or with friends, there is such activity around you that either way you are enjoying yourself. I ordered the Cream Tea and instead of a scone, had that scrumptious bright piece of Saffron Cake dressed with rose icing, garnished with chopped pistachios. Now this cake is more savory than sweet despite being iced, so if you are looking for a sugar rush, this is not it. The cake pairs well with the rich flavor of Earl Grey and is just a large enough portion to hold you over until dinner even after a light lunch. This cafe gets very busy and they do have a time limit at peak hours, so please be polite and consider other diners, if not you are allowed to take your time. I enjoyed the staff interaction, as well as the lesson I learned about the difference in tipping norms after asking if they received the full amount based on the service charge. I never assume, and I always want to make sure that staff receives their just due amount especially when excellent service is provided. Teatime at Selfridge. We ordered two Club Sandwiches, but the waiter recommended us to take one. It was enough considering such large portions. And too many sweets!!!

I am a cream tea lover. I die for scones and have had afternoon tea almost everywhere in London. I can starve my self all day so that i can enjoy a scone with clotted cream and jam. So last Saturday whilst shopping in Selfridges i tried out Dolly’s. Well, the scones were so amazingly delicious. The texture, the buttery taste and the quality of the clotted cream delicious. So surprised for a coffee shop to be so pleasing. Cream tea for 14.95 and you get two scones, clotted cream and jam and a choice of tea. So reasonable and really scrum-my. (Went again this afternoon. Need to stop this….) please bring Raspberry jam x

A nice cafe in Selfridge. After shopping or while shopping, you can have a nice break and have a cup of tea or coffee. They have a good variety of desserts. I will surely come back again.

I also learned a lot about tipping culture and service charges from our waitress Dolores, she was honored that we wanted to ensure that staff received adequate gratuities. This place needs to be shut down. Rude workers (Lyba) , food falls on the floor and they pick it up and put it back on the plate and serve to customer , no wonder once I found a rock in my Caesar salad and other times hair in sandwhiches , coffee is stale and always spilled . Poor conditions from selfridges .

Of course, when shopping, we need a break to recharge the energy at Silvergs. There is nothing better than Dolly to sit back, enjoy your coffee, your favorite dessert, and people watch. Located on the ground floor (at the sweets section in the text under the escalator) Their coffee is okay. There is no reservation, a long wait and a queue for your turn. My rating for it is 10/8 Prices: high

Delicious scones & friendly staff. However, the place was a bit busy.

Not the cheapest place around, but then it is part of the Selfridges experience so you would not expect Cafe prices. We both had coffee, which was decent and accompanied by a fortune cookie. My wife had a black forest gateau, which was tiny and cost £9.95 + 12.5% service, but she enjoyed it and found it very tasty. I think my main criticism of Dolly's is that it is not very relaxing to sit there. We were sat near to the escalators and between 2 competing in-store music transmissions. Not much can be done about the siting of Dolly's but they could do something about the music noise pollution. If they did, I would say their premium charges would be somewhat justified.

Very bad service, they have no respect at all. There are some nice ppl working there but some are rude. Don't waste your money on such a disrespectful coffee shop. I really enjoyed my morning tucking into a morning mimosa and a lotus cheesecake...it was such a great atmosphere with chilled music playing to add to lifting my mood after a bad morning. The manager was so attentive and polite. Looking forward to my next trip into Central London just so I can stop again. Thank you

This is a total rip off. I came with a friend for an early lunch - had a salmon sandwich each, a coffee each and a glass of champagne each (the price on the on the menu being £10 each but we were charged £27.90 for both) and the total bill came to £75.60! Never, never again.

I booked afternoon which was meant to be accompanied by a Santa and his elves show. I took my little granddaughters. What we got was bad service and had to ask for our tea and exactly what was happening. We had a choir singing and then the 2nd part which was hyped up consisted of Santa and his elves running through the tables for 60 seconds and it was over. How is that a Santa and his elves show?! Hugely disappointing for my grandchildren! What did we pay for? Everyone standing outside the cafe could see what we saw so why pay £50 each, for an average afternoon tea. Not worth it in my opinion. Won’t be going to Dollys again.

Not worth it. Service is absolutely terrible. A line up around the corner, half the tables empty and the staff are standing around on their phones. Food and tea are okay, just not worth dealing with employees who really don’t want to be there.

Located in the basement level of Selfridge’s, it’s at the base of a five story atrium with escalators whisking shoppers to every corner of the department store. Great people watching and good selection of afternoon tea snacks. Was 50 pounds for a pot of tea, champagne, and three tiers of finger foods and snacks. Highly, highly recommended.

Very bad service I am very annoyed with the waitress who treated me badly and prevented me from putting my things on the chair other than saying it is forbidden even though the person next to me and everyone put your things on the chair. I waited more than half an hour to be treated badly.

The service here is absolutely amazing. I was served by Michelle and she did such a great job. Really friendly and everything was perfect.

Jag hade sett fram emot att besöka er för after noon tea. Vi fick ett bord efter ca 20 min. Därefter väntade vi ca 15 min utan att få någon kontakt med eller uppmärksamhet från personalen. Vi blev helt ignorerade. Personalen var inte särskilt upptagna utan gick lugnt runt i lokalen. Det slutade med att vi gick utan att ha fått beställa.

The food is adequate. The pastries in the case look amazing but the service was severely lacking. We ordered the cream tea and received our scones a full thirty minutes after receiving our tea. I’m pretty sure we were forgotten. It was very disappointing and considering our scones were average I don’t recommend this tea.

We had booked a table with a buggy, was easy to find and we were sat promptly! The chocolate eclair was delicious and the lavender lemonade was the perfect balance! Obviously in the middle of selfridges, so not the most atmospheric but would visit again when on Oxford street!

Really nice spot to break up the day shopping. We were served by a lovely lady by the name of Michelle who was an absolute superstar. Helped us so many great recommendations for our little one. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would visit again. The only downside was the scones weren't the best. But the sandwiches and cakes were superb.

Horrible service I come from Qatar and blonde old lady doesn’t tell me how long I wait for table. I wait 1 hour for table and my coffee was cold do not recommend Khalas never again

One of my favorite coffee & dessert places in the area. Service has notably improved over the years as i’ve been an avid customer every time i’m in London and can definitely say the quality has improved. Wide selection of cakes and drinks. Would love to try their afternoon tea one day. Reasonably priced considering the location and portion size. Long queue but the staff tries to accommodate all as quickly as possible.

I don't know why there's a queue for guests when there are so many empty seats.

Joined a couple of friends for an afternoon tea and scones. A nice little area to sit if you’ve been shopping or working all day. Would not say I’d bring children though, as some have complained it’s not child friendly. Definitely for more of a get together and not a full on eat. The price is quiet fair when compared to other places similar in London. You are paying for the experience after all. The waiters were attentive.

I had a drink with friend at this restaurant yesterday , a glass of apple juice and a bottle of Diet Coke.The bill should be £10 but after I back home I found they charged me £18. Then I called them but no one answer my phone!

Beautiful cakes, especially the lemon meringue tart, delicious ice coffee and our waitress Dolores was simply the best! Loved it here.

Cakes are pretty and tasty. Long waiting times to enter the place and the service takes a while. Food is overpriced. The vibe is very hectic.

Dolly’s is located on the lower ground level in Selfridges and it’s often crowded. I think because their clients are mainly tourists, they’re very business oriented and rushed which decreases the quality of the services overall. Very sweet desserts, pretty presentation.

The blonde women was so rude , we were standing outside and there is many tables available and she doesn’t even talk to us. Which makes us leave the place . PLEASE HIRE SOMEONE NOT RACIST

Cafe staff never checks on table you have to wait to long to order then wait again to order and then wait again to pay if you have too much free time this cafe is best to waste 😅😆 so poor service and then you pay service charges

Me and my husband came to celebrate the coronation of the king, everything was amazing food, environment and most of all the service. We were taken care by a lovely young girl named Lyba, had a beautiful smile on the whole time and made sure our experience was perfect, as it was our first time having an afternoon tea. Definitely recommend to visit.

Walked right by it a few times looking for a lovely place for traditional English tea. It’s plopped down in the middle of the basement level and it felt like I was in a subway cafe. Nice enough staff. Food was interesting and tasty, tea was fine. It’s really overpriced for the lackluster English tea experience. My bad, I should have done my homework before popping into Dolly’s.

The waiter was lovely but the afternoon tea was dire. Surprised Selfridges is happy to risk its reputation on a tourist trap. Also no children’s options - poor show.

First you have to wait 30 minutes to get a table because its so busy and believe me its not worth the wait . you would think that by now Selfridges would have thought 'hang on, we need to expand this coffee shop' but no, because its. 21st century rip off yet again . Place is extremely noisy and not relaxing because horrible crass music is blaring out from loudspeakers placed on the escalator that is situated above Dollys. Who thought that one out???? and its like being in the middle of Charing Cross Station and having a coffee on the tarmac, its absolutely horrible. Staff are totally zoned out and who could blame them and then you are looking at about £40 for a cup of tea and a stupid scone - forget it minus minus one million

My friend and I came here and ordered a hot chocolate and a mocha - it took around half an hour for these to arrive (we weren’t warned by staff that it would take so long, nor did they apologise for the wait), and the bill in total came to £10. The mocha was fairly good but the hot chocolate was distinctly average, certainly not worth the price. Avoid if you can.

Nice enough place. Nice lady serving us. But those cakes looked great but tasted pretty average. Not unusual for upmarket Pattiserie products in my opinion.. My tea. Nicely served but tasted and smelt like wet newspaper. Couldn’t finish it. Hubbies coffee was ok but not hot enough. Very expensive for something we didn’t really enjoy.

We booked a table last minute, and we loved it! Dolly's is a bustling and fabulous place with delicious afternoon tea. We have been there before, and the coffee shop always provided outstanding service. The staff were so hard working and attentive. Good selection of teas, sandwiches, scones and delicious cakes. Thank you to all team for their professionalism and hard work. We will be back.

I visited This restaurant with my daughter on day out. Never again! The service was appalling despite numerous waitresses all falling over themselves in a small space! They were not welcoming or friendly and we were ushered rudely back out despite 2 tables that were clearly empty. Once seated we waited a very long time for our 1 mint tea and iced coffee, and it only arrived when we chased it up. The place needs fewer waitresses and a good manager to ensure efficiency. Definitely not recommended and does not uphold Selfridge's standards in service.

Everything was bad and we were waiting and the employee sehar spoke to us badly and told us that the cafe was closing at 7:30PM and there were many people standing behind us in the same Q, but we were the only ones who spoke to us and when we were standing she told us you will enter the one after us while we are waiting, she was very bad in behavior and deal.

I went today and the waiter named Luc was very disrespectful. I tried to switch tables asking him nicely and he literally replied ‘I don’t care what you think or want’ (referring to the table I want). I was very shocked by his reply, I asked him that I need to talk to your manager. He literally said ‘I don’t care talk to whoever you want’ then he stuck his tongue out at me. I have NEVER experienced this disrespectful treatment before. I asked another waiter to call in their manager. The manager (Christopher) was very welcoming and generous and listened to everything I have told him. I am speechless and very disappointed!!!

Horrible high tea. The scones were rock hard and tasteless however the cream was good. We ordered a slice of red velvet cake which had chunks of chocolate in it, was gluten free however not advertised as it but found out after inquiring with the staff. The staff were very rude, not helpful at all and incredibly dismissive. Really overpriced, would not recommend

I have to say I expected more of a £15 cream tea. Scones were dry and tasteless. The clotted cream tasted like butter and was so thick you couldn't use it without pushing the scone to bits.

If a place is closing at 6pm you cannot rush people from 5.15 pm. It's understandable it needs to close down but it's disrespectful for the people sitting. Long story short: we arrived before the closure, we sat and ordered. Initially they forgot the tea spoons, so we asked for it. Then they brought water but forgot 1 glass. Then it was time to pay, which we did but were stopped before leaving to confirm payment. Stuff is friendly, but that's not enough. They require better training and management. Work on a table basis! We were assisted by 5 different people. You cannot pay your cake 10£ and have such service. Will not visit again.

Such a delightful staff and experience! Despite this spot being in surrounded by a lot of people, it somehow was still a calm experience. Lovely tea, cake, and scones. My partner and I had the pistachio rose cake and it was to die for! It was extremely light, creamy, and not overly sweet.

Visited with friends. Had their Patisseries (Paris best, macaroon, fig chocolate), chicken avocado sandwich, coffe, coke and a drink. Total bil 57£, about 19 £/ head. So very expensive but not worth it. Overall it was ok. Nothing special. Is a busy place . Don’t try afternoon tea. Not worth it. And v didn’t either. Taste wise 3/5 , value wise 2/5

I decided to treat my niece to Dolly’s but we were disappointed with the experience. Overpriced menu.

Always thought it looked lovely, am a regular shopper in Selfridges. Cakes straight from the Food Hall, coffee bitter, hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows arrived without either. Very disappointed. There is much better out there, definitely not worth the £28 price tag for two drinks and average cake. I didn't bother taking any pictures, wasn't really picture worthy. Would never recommend or revisit

Decided to stop by Dolly’s to have light refreshments after some shopping and so glad we did. The queue was fairly long, but was well worth the wait. We had the best ever carrot cake and a delicious raspberry cheesecake, topped off with a pot of tea. Will definitely visit again.
