Jamican Inn in North Down

My friend and I were here today for lunch. Service was fantastic, quick and prompt. Our waiter was pleasant and even moved us to a window seat when it become available. Thank you:-) I had the smoked Haddock as pictures show, my friend had mini mixed grill, he said it was delicious. We shared a desert of toffee sponge- it was ok. We both had coffee to finish- mine was baileys coffee, very good! Can’t wait to come again. Thank you :-)

Another happy visit to The Jamaica Inn. The breakfast was amazing. Beds are so comfy, we sleep so well at each visit. Alan and his staff are so polite. We will be back soon. Take care Kirsty and Ian

I was in for dinner at the weekend and my food and service was excellent. I also noticed that their approach to the new covid restrictions were very well executed with screens,hand sanitiser and staff members wearing masks and customer seating all socially distanced which I thought was great to see. To conclude a very warm and welcoming place to go with amazing food,great customer care and a very clean environment would highly recommend

This was the first place we headed for during the Eat out to Help out scheme. Always popular we had to book and could only get a 5 o'clock sitting. It really annoys me when they tell you exactly how long you've got to eat though. There was hand sanitizer at the front door but the dispensers weren't working at the time we went and we had to pass close by other dinners in the entrance porch. The waiting staff weren't wearing masks and the distancing could have been a lot better inside. The menu choices were good, the dessert choices were verbally given to us. Everyone enjoyed their food, the portions were great and all but the kids were too full for desserts. The waiting staff take too long to come back to you after you've quite obviously finished each course, strange when they have already specified how long you've got to eat!

I absolutely love this place so when I heard they were doing takeaway I was quite excited. I ordered my usual chicken goujons and chips, collected it no problem but when I got it home I put it on my plate to find there was literally about half the amount they usually serve and it was cold! To make it worse they charge you the same restaurant prices. I know I'll eat there when it opens to get a proper portion and have it hot but definitely not getting a take away again sadly.

My favourite place to go, the food is absolutely delicious. Best place in Bangor in my opinion. Staff also very nice.

Pandemic lunch- just three :-) We had planned this a few weeks ago before the panic of the virus so decided to go as it would prob be our last public visit. Staff were very helpful, food was delicious ! We all had a starter ( melted goats cheese for me and 2 prawn starters ) mains included steak sandwich to scampi ! All meals where beyond delicious. Our waitress for very attentive and smily ( which is lovely I think). The place was empty but I think this a bonus considering it’s usual over busy state. We were seated at the window which was lovely too as you hardly ever get the window here :-) beautiful day for it too . My friends are from outside Bangor and they thought it was lovely! Will be back :-) thanks for giving us a lovely lunch in this current panic.

Slightly disappointed, first of all, all the staff members were really nice and friendly. For the started I was really excited to have the Strangford Lough muscles. But by 8pm they had run out, so I had to settle for the goujons. For the Main course I decided to go for the Jamaican inn style seafood pie. (See pic) it was just meh. My partner went for the calamari to start and the duck for main, which both looked and tasted amazing. Hopefully the next time we go back will be better.

We chose this restaurant for its sea view and we werent dissapointed. The beer garden looks perfect for day drinking in the summer and its dog friendly as we spotted some water bowls. The menu was good but be warned the portions are huge. We ordered the chicken wings to share as a starter and they also came with a side, it was too much - see photo! we really struggled to eat a main after that. In contrast the cocktail was really small for £8..couldnt fault the staff and service. Will come back in the summer

Went for an evening meal with a friend on her recommendation. Have been before and it was just ok. I had the chicken goujons and chunky chips. The goujons were a bit soggy and the batter fell off the chicken and the chips were on the burnt side. The restaurant was also very cold and drafty. An average meal overall.

Went last week from start to finish everything was fantastic. We first had a drink at the bar which the posh bearded lad working that night, think his name was Jonathan put us to a nice table in the corner which was out the way from everyone also making us a nice cocktail each, oh why oh my. I wish I had of got another. If I could change one thing it would be the burger baps, maybe a seeded bun or brioche bun would make it even better. We also got served by another lovely short wee woman called Brooke who was on the ball with our order and even with my wife’s very severe dietary requirements she could recommend something. All in all it was my first time here and won’t be my last time here and highly recommend. I understand how it can be in a busy place as I have worked in restaurants throughout the UK and all the staff in Jamaica Inn I have to give credit working together and delivering great food, drink and service. 5/5 stars. They told me to come back in the summer to get full advance of there beer garden and I just might. Hotdog! 👍👌

my husband and i visit here on a regular basis for a bite to eat. The staff are always friendly and the food is great. The menu has a variety of meals with some firm favourites. There is always a good atmosphere and the view is fantastic.

Went to jamica in for dinner we booked a table just to be on safe side but the staff our very good if you haven't booked as well ...staff so friendly and the burgers never let you down this is why we go back great food great staff and great drinks

We booked this weekend break with 11 friends over 18 months ago . They have been amazing with email correspondence in this time. All my ‘trimmings’ were catered for. On arrival we were greeted by friendly helpful staff in the bar and hotel reception. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, The gift shop staff helped put out party gifts in the table, we had balloons in our room and table in restaurant. The cleaners were friendly and efficient. The food and service was fantastic considering we were a large party and they had other guests. All of our part had such a great experience we all are planning a return trip. We can’t recommend the Jamaica Inn highly enough . Thank you for making my husbands birthday one to remember. MH

Scenery at this restaurant is beautiful. I love sitting outside looking at the beach. Its ideal to come here with family or friends. The food is really fresh, good sized portions and delicious!! Was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Can’t wait to come here again.

A very busy and lively bar , serving brilliant food . The halloumi burger and sweet potato fries was just brilliant . Fantastic service , very helpful and polite staff . Will visit again as soon as possible . Highly recommend the Jamaican Inn .
