Jamaica Food in Sheffield

Hands down worst Jamaican food I’ve tasted. No flavour to the sauce, no spice tastes like it’s powdered and some oil inside it. Chicken was rubbery and jerk sauce was the worst I’ve tasted. Dumpling not even worth adding into the food as it’s completely dead. Go and learn to cook real Jamaican food not white washed prison food and charging £20 for it. I’ve been to Jamaican shops all around the country in actual urban cities like Birmingham, London and Nottingham and the worst of those don’t even compare to this.

Fast delivery piping hot, large portion and super tasty, loved everything about it. Will definitely be ordering again.

Joker level extortionate. They think they're serving you Michelin star cuisine lol. Nandos is half this price for twice the portion 😂 yeah no.

There are very few restaurants that you can go to these days, where you can actually have a chat with the chef that prepared your food. As a Jamaican missing home, the food from this restaurant hit all the right spots; quelling a longing heart whilst bringing back sweet nostalgic memories of our island home, Jamaica!! The conversation that I had with the chef reminded me of the casual reasonings that Jamaicans commonly have with each other-no agenda, no ulterior motives-just a hold a 'medz'. I left that restaurant with my belly and heart full. I'd definitely recommend you try this restaurant. I definitely know I'll be back. One love! 🇯🇲

Truly the worst takeaway meal we have ever eaten. These people cannot cook. Two small, cold meals, and two cans £30. They're having a laugh. I cannot recommend this place

Ordered to our house on the other side of the city centre. Food arrived piping hot and the portions are huge! We ordered the chickpea curry meal with side of mac and cheese and a vegetable patty. Absolutely brilliant, I’m half Jamaican and it felt like a family member had just dropped off some home cooked food for me! 😋

The food was really nice. I’m your typical jerk chicken guy and this place banged. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for food place around the Sheffield area. Boss man had the seasoning on lockdown very nice and delicious.

One of the best takeaways in Sheffield. Amazingly delicious and fresh meals, and generous portions. Service is quick and efficient and the staff are friendly. Highly recommend the brown stew chicken and mild chicken curry, as well as the side of mac and cheese!

All was good for service and took no time in getting my order and staff very helpful and i will be happy to go back for more food.

Very poor customer service and very bad quality of food not recommended at all.

Had a mate visit from down south so thought we would eat here on our way to an axe throwing session. Looked on line and it says they are open arrived at 2:30 and it’s shut way to lose new customers as I live in Rotherham and would have been going there regularly if the food was good won’t be wasting my time going there again now.

Absolutely terrible carabean food the mutton is dead the rice and peas are so plain and dry I placed and order by phone and they said 15 mins I wnt down in 15 mins and it still wasent done I waited another 25 minuets in the shop before it was served and they didn't care this place has gone down hill service they didn't care and its just slacking dumplings are just dead doe balls won't be coming again

Called off whilst visiting parents, owners remembered me as a former regular price increase just like nationally everywhere, portion size was the same as I remembered, good respect. Eat or take out , complimentary sauces on the table too.

Service was good. Bought brown stew chicken & rice and peas. The brown stew chicken was just chicken breast for some reason so was really really dry & rice and peas wasn’t the best. I wouldn’t recommend this dish at all

Great place and the Jerk Chicken was amazing and a massive portion.

Very disappointed. Staff was unapproachable and unhelpful. Charged me £2.99 for a drink that I was led to believe was part of the meal. Got home, jerk chicken was like no other jerk I've had before, it was more of a stew and there was several bones in it too. We rang to explain our findings to be told we we're lying and that there couldn't possibly be any bones. The staff wasn't helpful at all. I would not recommend.

Good food but overpriced. Had the big meal for £13 plus delivery fee. Arrived warm but it was filling. Not particularly friendly on the other side of the phone.

This place cooks the real deal. The best Jamaican food I've tried anywhere. It's up there with every visit to your Grannies, Aunties or any other family or church get together you ever been to. No option on here to tick the mutton & rice. Don't miss out on it though 'cos it' s flavoursome. Delivery is available or there's a small eat-in area. Reggie Kitchen also operate a card stamping system so you get a free meal for every 10 meals purchased. I always order the big meals size which comes with main meal plus dumplings, veg, plaintain and a can of soda. There's two full size plates worth of food in each large meal serving. Share, eat over two days or unbutton your trousers and eat 'till you can eat n'more!

They take American express, helpful with the menu, dumpling was a little dry but didn't affect enjoyment of the food, and was served very quickly. Plus there's NO bones in their food. I thought it was expensive at first but they are BIG portions. Even the baby loved it.

Came from Huddersfield on a visit. Had curried mutton which was out of this world. I’ve never tasted any other curry as good as this. The meat is so tender and tasty. I chose a small portion which look like a large portion. Cheerful owner, great customer service with a permanently smiley face.

Just had my delivery.. yet again amazing food

Just started working at the tattoo shop next door, ordered the Mac and cheese today and some Kool Aid pouches (gods nectar). Absolutely delicious, been fighting off the other artists over my Mac and cheese! Staff are wonderful, even learned my name! Both are super welcoming and I can’t wait to try more food from here! No doubt my waist line will extend working next door to here!

WORST YARD FOOD I EVEN BEEN TO. Simply asked for some fried dumplings n bread & in return got some dead small dough balls that were overpriced & stone cold. Not to mention the disinterested and lethargic service when I’m dropping £7 for 4 dumplings, piece of bread & a capri sun. Never again and I don’t even give reviews

The WORST FOOD IVE EVER HAD, food is vile and unauthentic, I put in requests so I could eat it especially after paying £17 just for one meal online and got totally ignored and given what I do not like so I couldn’t eat it without gipping! Twice I’ve ate from there in the last few weeks and everytime I’ve had the worst bellyache which lasts for days, the 1st time I gave it the benefit of a doubt as I’d ate alot of stuff that same day so didn’t know the problem, then i ate again and it’s the same issue vomiting and the usual food poisoning symptoms ( not going into detail) absolutely disgusting, food was cold, found something blue in my rice! This place is vile and the only reason it has customers is because it has very English customers who aren’t really sure about authentic Jamaican food! It is not authentic at all , doesn’t taste like a Jamaican has cooked it and believe me I’ve been In that shop and Iknow the hygiene isn’t on point either! Never will be eating from here again and I advise anybody that’s going there, find a different shop because there’s nothing Jamaican about it🤢also overpriced on just eat and Uber eats! It is not the same price in the shop

I've never had a bad meal here, back when I ate chicken and now when I have the veg meal. Always tasty.

Absolutely disgusting. The Mac and cheese was made from normal pasta that was cooked too long and therefore mushy. The Mac and cheese had no cheese in it and was basically just pasta in a flour paste. The goat meat had no flavour and the same with the rice and peas. Absolutely bland. The only thing that was nice was the cooked veg. The dumplings tasted as if it was just flour and water. Absolutely bland

Working away from home and Starting with Flu Symptoms, there was only one remedy. I needed and was craving for some good old fashioned Jamaican flavours and nutrition. So glad that I came across Reggae Kitchen! The Mutton and Rice was plentiful, full of those flavours, seasonings and goodness that we have tasted from young at home. I soon finished all of it together with some spiced rum and I felt so much better and full! Thank you Reggae Kitchen. Would definitely recommend

This meal was £10.99 and the smallest I’ve ever had, the whole food didn’t even cover the bottom of the container the dumpling is tiny and there was 4 pieces of meat We will never order from this place again Don’t waste your money Not very flavoured either to say it’s Jamaican

great authentic food!! delivery was very fast - the food was meant to arrive at 6:50pm but arrived at half past. i'll definitely order again!

Order large Mutton with Rice an peas. There was hardly any food to say it was large, was flavourless, dumplins tasted greasy as to say they was dipped in the fryer for 3 minuets. Mac and cheese was mushy. If I didn't buy to eat on a journey I would of took back to the shop for a refund. Only good things was the tin drink! Definitely wouldn't go back or reccomend! Food bland and watery.

Popped in to grab patties for a light late family lunch, service was impeccable. The young lady was very helpful, welcoming and polite and answered my questions/advised me as best as she could. Will definitely return on my next trip to Sheffield.

I’m sure their food is lovely, they are very highly rated everywhere and I really wanted to try it but as a Muslim when you have a halal sign and claim you are halal I should be able to ask for a halal certificate or some kind of invoice so I know that they have bought the food from a halal establishment. As they did not have a halal certificate I asked for an invoice so I could know where it was purchased from so I can research that their meat was halal but in the owners words “I will never show you it”. To be honest the conversation should have ended there but I wanted to understand why and that’s my fault. I asked him what will he lose from giving me reassurance that I would like so I can eat their food and he said why do you need so much assurance, if you aren’t feeling safe don’t eat here. I told him it’s nothing against his shop but everywhere I go that hasn’t been vetted by family and friends I ask, if they aren’t halal I’ll go for the vegetarian options. If the place looks “Muslim” I’ll still ask for this. I’ve never had a problem, I just want to make sure I adhere to my beliefs and don’t sin. Then he asked you sure don’t sin anywhere else? And his family all laughed (apparently not a family restaurant). This was a losing battle so I said no problem take care. Either he was being stubborn to not show it or he thought I was a competitor wanting to know his secrets I guess. If you are Muslim and need assurance your food is halal especially after reading this isn’t the place for you. They don’t need to be sensitive to anyones beliefs at it is their shop but they definitely weren’t. Otherwise I’m sure you’ll like it, it smelled nice at least while my stomach growled lol. Edit: In response to the owner There is no assurance when you refuse to either get a halal certificate to hang on your wall or to show where you get your meat from. Why do anything in the Food & Beverage sector if you cannot provide evidence of it. It doesn't matter if you have a lot of muslims eating in this establishment. I would still question it and there are many others who do the same as me. No your word is not good enough. There was discrimination against my beliefs when you said you sure aren't sinning elsewhere? Meaning me holding such importance to this is of no value to you as you think I don't hold myself to the same standard elsewhere. I'm terribly sorry for assuming that you are a family, when I saw a rather young lady at the front, lady in the back and you at the cash register I assumed this is a family. I forgot that a man, woman and a younger person in a modest shop don't look like a family restaurant. How silly of me. There is nothing wrong in looking like a family, the assumption came from a man, woman and a younger person in a modest shop working together and laughing in unison against someone's beliefs. Ive had alot better and made better myself. Brown stew chicken was dry. Deffo not the best. Cabbage was nice though. Mutton was flavourless. Was gutted as i was so looking forward to good Jamaican food.

We had a large curried chicken, jerk chicken and a small curried mutton. All 3 came with a dumpling, rice & peas and a drink. At less than £9 a dish, the lot was very good value for money. It tasted really great and was very filling. There's no frills here; just quality, honest food that is well worth another visit from me.

I've just finished the curried mutton and it was amazing. My partner loved her vegetarian meal too. Really friendly people, great menu choice, excellent value. Will definitely be going back for more. Highly recommended.

I love my Jamaican food and my Niece brought me a lovely brown stew chicken meal today (my first time as dont drive and live S8). Can I just say it was the best I've had, amazing food ! I will be back for sure!

Delicious jerk chicken, with a real home cooked flavour of herbs and spices. Very generous portion too & drink included with the meal.

Payed our second visit to Reggae Kitchen today after my first experience was amazing. Second experience was equally amazing, friendly staff, delicious food and clean place inside. I highly recommend the jerk chicken meal, some of the best chicken I've had in my life. This is mine and my missis's new spot for food, despite traveling 40 minutes to get there, it's well worth the journey!

Flavours were banging. Portion size great. The breast chicken was a little dry for me so im deffo gunna opt for leg meat on bone next time I go. Unfortunately got my order wrong and missed off my pattie- realised when I'd got home. called em and they're willing to let me have a patty at a later date. Lovely rice, had the brown chicken stew... Felt like I was getting hugged from the inside. Was my first time and I dont think it will be my last. 5 star from me if its any consolation...
