Service here is fine but main problem is that it’s called Salt Bao but they don’t sell Bao at the weekend. This seems a fairly fundamental problem with the branding and turns it into a faintly pretentious real ale bar. This is a shame as the Bao were the only good thing about it.

Good all round experience, nice place to socialise, reasonably priced pub grub, excellent staff . Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area

Many beers on tap where Salts own brews but other drinks are available. Nice and quiet whilst we were in there and the staff were very friendly. Not much food choice unless you like bao buns or crisps. You can buy cans to take away.

Just when for drinks but the food looked good. Place had a cool vibe about it. Friendly staff too.

It was very quite when we visited on a mid week afternoon. I would expect this place to be more suited to a younger customer than us but the barman was helpful and the beer ok even if it was a little more pricy than other pubs in the area.

A decent bar selling good beer, craft beer available with real ale as well with guest beers as well. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Have to mark the food 4 out of 5 just because of price. Food itself is absolutely delicious, some of the best street food style food I've had in a long time in fact, but £6 for a bao bun is just too much for me, even round kehlam and even thought it's so nice. Other than that, 10/10, will be back again. Nice selection of drinks, very good food, friendly environment... what's not to love?

First time visitor the other weekend with colleagues after work, good selection of drinks, mainly a bar but also serve Korean style food which isn’t my cup of tea but colleagues seemed to enjoy it

Bao's were amazing and the ginger beer beer (kick push) was great! We had Korean chicken bao, cheesy chips, pork gyoza, pumpkin bao and katsu fries!

Really liked the beer, setting, bar and atmosphere. The food is tasty but nothing special. No wow factor about it. A single bao for basically a fiver is a bit over priced. Like the bar though, just need to enhance the food offering.

Great choice of local beers & delicious bao

Called in yesterday after work and was greeted with a really friendly manager and a fine selection of their own keg beers (everyone will like at least one of them), enjoyed it so much had to call again today. If you think beer should be crystal clear and not taste of much its probably not the place for you but the educated will love it here

Enjoyed a beer here at a new venue for me. Very relaxed atmosphere. Sat outside, had a beer and a bite to eat perfect. Happy to recommend it

Looked great and staff were friendly but no vegan food on the menu despite listing vegan options on their online website menu. Very disappointing! 😓

The bar is nice and the beer is good , we had one of Salts own. But the food isn't worth the price, it's not bad it's just not good. The salt and pepper chips just had a bit of seasoning on plain fries, for the price you'd expect maybe some chillies spring onion, offer of sauce, better presentation. The Baos once again aren't bad as such, but you can get better for the price, the duck was just fatty chunks with little hoisin sauce . Would recommend for drinks , staff were friendly, food not worth the price.

The food was pretty nice and tasty. But for the price I thought the portions could be larger, especially the bao, they are small so maybe include the 2. Abit underwhelmed but overall decent.

The place is tastefully decorated, the staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a vast selection of drinks. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The flavour just wasn’t there and it lacked that “thing” that makes you want more.

Nice spot in the heart of Kelham Island. Was very busy when I visited, I think the football match had just finished and it filled up fast. Not a bad selection of lagers and beers, the ‘on tap’ cocktails are ok and good value but not premium. Very very hot inside and the radiators were on! Had to go outside to cool off. Would like to go back in the summer as I can imagine it being a great spot for an afternoon drink in the sun!

Smashing brewery bar with a nice variety of house and guest beers. I particularly enjoyed the Salts Citra. Also available is a limited but very tasty selection of Bao buns and Gyoza - two meat and one veggie variety of each. Nice atmosphere and highly recommend overall.

Food and snacks creative, oriental type take on western fast food when I visited, really tasty. Decent german beers on tap and selection of others more mainstream, decor, seating and atmosphere really spot on here, would make a lovely trip for small group or couple. Staff really friendly, knowledgeable 👍

Coffee was good. Terrible smell when you enter the bar. Lacks atmosphere.

Nice chilled bar with great food and a decent outside area for when the sun is out , situated central so surrounded by other great bars for a good afternoon or evening out , the only sad part being because it's situated close to living accommodation you have to go inside the pub a bit earlier than some other places because of the noise restrictions in the area but don't let that put you off and just add this place in to your route of places to visit at an earlier hour.

Really chilled, great beer selection, set in a great part of Kelham Island. Will be back to try the Baos on offer!

Love this place. Very nice location, great outside area but it's their drinks that make it special. Superb selection as you would expect from Salt. Jute is the nicest session IPA I've ever had and they have it on tap here

Best salted caramel espresso martinis!

Gorgeous cocktails, excellent selection of ales for my other half so he was very happy!! Only problem was we ordered some chips etc to nibble on and the service was painfully slow and when we went to check where our order was it turned out they had forgotten about us.

This is a modern bar in the heart of Kelham Island, just outside of the city centre. Prices are a little on the high side but a decent selection of drinks. They have a good outdoor space in this old industrial area of town. A good place to meet, relax and have a few drinks.

Our first time down to salt since they moved into the space that was previously stew and oyster. The bar had good choices; proper beer and espresso martini on tap (yes please) had a great atmosphere and best of all, has @baomesters . Another project from @edosushiuk . The more Edo in Sheffield the better in our opinion 😂 these fluffy light buns so were delicious. We were sad however that the char siu pork buns weren't available and also had massive food envy when our friends chicken karaage buns came out. They looked ace. I think the beef that we tried would have been the bottom of our fave list . We just have to go back another time to try them all 🙌🏻

Good addition to Kelham Island area. Very friendly staff and a good range of cask and keg beers featuring their own beers and a selection of guests. Large outside area with well spaced tables . Limited food menu but well priced and tasty including bao buns,gorzas and more.

Nice enough bar but the Salt beer is pretty mediocre. If you like craft beer, don't bother because it's clearly a commercialised chain that's sacked off quality for quantity. Good selection of beer but barely any that's actually made by Salt. Decent vibe but didn't eat the food so can't comment.

I work at a restaurant in London but felt so unbelievably frustrated and ignored here. We went in for a quick bite to eat. After having ordered our food and waiting roughly twenty minutes, we checked on the food and it hadn’t gone through. Totally fine it happens, but then we waited another 25 mins with not being spoken to or offered a discount in any way. When I mentioned this the staff still did not offer to refund or to communicate with us. There were so many different ways it could have been handled. For the already fairly pricey food. If someone had spoken to us offered a drink or a refund we would have been fine but we were ignored for our 50 minute time there. It should be handled differently. NOT HAPPY.

Now it is newly rebranded SALT in Sheffield and brings together a award-winning craft ale paired with delicious bao buns @baomesters @saltsheffield offers a range of SALT beers, real ales, artisan gin, wine & cocktails on a VERY reasonable price. WHAT I GOT @saltbeerfactory 🍺Jute Session IPA @baomesters 🐔Karaage Bao 🥟Crispy Pork Gyoza 🍟Loaded V-Cut Fries SALT Jute Session IPA was light and refreshing with a taste of citrus. It perfectly matched with the Crispy Pork Gyoza which topped with homemade ra-yu chilli and mayo. The gyozas were flavourful and the filling was well balanced with pork and cabbage. Love it😍😍😍 The Loaded V-Cut Fries were defo the most evil food I ever had. The fries were topped with Japanese curry sauce, mozzarella, sausages and coriander. Each bite was full of flavour. Once you started eating it, you can’t stop it😈😈😈 If the snacks couldn’t fill up your empty stomach, you must go for the Karaage Bao came with pickles coriander and sriracha mayo. The Karaage chicken was well seasoned and the Bao was so soft. Highly recommend to all hungry foodies ❤️❤️❤️ There are over hundred seats @saltsheffield and you can enjoy the sunlight in the outdoor beer garden. Such a good place to chill out in sunny day😎😎😎 @saltbeerfactory has bars in various location including Leeds and London. I wish every location can serve these amazing snacks and everyone can enjoy good food good beer🤗

Stuck in traffic so stopped for a bite while it died down. Glad I did, lovely food and chilled atmosphere. Tables and plugs available so managed to get a bit of work done there too.

Another excellent addition to Kelham. Fantastic range of beers, great atmosphere and a really nice place to chill. The staff are friendly and always appear passionate about the beers they are brewing/selling. Plus it's dog friendly so we can call for a pint and take the dog, winner! There is also a Bao bun bar if you want some food.

Some friends recommended Salt Sheffield so I was excited to try it for myself - I’ve tried to book by phone on multiple occasions and e mailed without response so I’ve sort of lost my appetite for it …. There’s plenty of competitors whose booking systems actually work!

Yet another fantastic addition to the Kelham Island beer and food scene. Entirely suitable stripped-back interior design, paired with low lighting. Needless to say the Salt beers themselves are excellent, with at least 3 different ones to choose from on my maiden visit (along with other drinks too, of course). Food wasn't being served when I was there but the Bao buns from "Bao Mesters" sure look tempting on the menu. Mental note taken for next time..!

Used to be a nice pub. Went in tonight and it was far too loud. Couldn’t hear myself think!! I’d probably swerve for food and a few drinks if you want to have a conversation…

Incredible atmosphere and the staff were just wonderful. Beer served really well and the Bao Buns and chips cheese and gravy were to die for. Friendly crowd and good DJ…. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you ❤️🍺❤️
