Food out standing that's why we go there repeatedly, myself and family

You go there to place an large order the chef is chatting outside tells you to order inside , that's OK then your told by the staff you have ask da chef the chef is still chatting & they don't want to disturb his conversation was it that important? so then they tell you No cos they dont want to disturb da chef This is why you gain new customers or gain potential new sales very disappointed fix up!!!!

The very best Caribbean food I have had. Locally famous for its Jerk, Oxtail, fish and soups. There is also a very cool bar that has wonderfully "Warm and Easy" staff who do all they can to make each customer feel welcome. We moved into a house around the cornet a couple of months ago, thanks to Jam Rock, we now feel part of the community, have a very cool little bar togo to, and enjoy the fabulous food probably more often than we should. A special mention to Ells and Fire, such caring, friendly people, who both work very hard to ensure the bar runs smoothly! This place is a hidden gem while also being a neighbourhood hub! Thank you Jam Rock!

I’m new to Thornton Heath neighbourhood and Jam Rock offers an incredibly friendly, local welcome served up with great Caribbean food - I pretty much always go for jerk chicken or stew with rice n peas and the serving, like the vibe, is warm and generous!

The chicken was old and smelled rotten when opened up. On closer inspection some parts were green. Inedible and dangerous, straight in the bin. Complete waste of money. Do not order from here!

Jamrock is the best. 10/10 every time. Online or in the shop. All dishes are nice. The people are polite. Will continue to spend my money here.

It’s quite dry and the plantain is stale. I can tell it wasn’t fresh and overly microwaved.

Saltfish fritters and the Mac and cheese wasn’t it!!! I’m not Caribbean but I can make it wayyyyy better then them

The curry goat was succulent and well cooked, the portion was plentiful. This was the best meal to date.

I have ordered a few times and this time I’d have to say the festivals was overcooked and the porridge is normally tasty but wasn’t very tasty today so I’ll have to say I was disappointed guys

I saw a comment in the review section saying this place had the best peppered prawns…but I disagree! I was actually so disappointed. They hadn’t been D’pood the sauce was a little bit oily. Good portion size tho - the jerk chicken was good and the fried chicken. The jerk sauce was more of a paste than an actual sauce. Over all the food wasn’t bad it was just the prawns that let it down for me

These lovely ladies were very accommodating and the food was great. It's that kinda food that just makes you feel like everything is gonna be alright in the end. Wholesome and delicious. I very highly recommend.

Jam rock will cancel all of the orders if one item that was ordered is not there, why don’t they do like other business and call to offer an alternative. I ordered Ackee and it was sent stone cold and came late. Tracking the delivery is a waste of time as it is always not working.

Ordered a the 2 stewed chicken meals and 2 stewed fish meals. The order arrived quickly BUT, No fish was sent. I received 4 chicken meals. Also, the polystyrene containers were broken and leaking. The food was plentiful, but I haven't tasted it since I don't eat chicken, it is meant for guests. I raised the matter with Just-eat and I am waiting to hear back. SO not impressed. Won't ever order from here again.

Just fulfil the order properly loves. Recieved an empty box! Paid for 2x ocra and received an empty box. Hilarious. Will get my refund but what is that all about?

Absolutely love this place for a carribean breakfast. Ackee & Saltfish, plantain and festival are a treat. A weekly affair :)

The Food is not the best the Jerk Chicken was cooked to perfection. And the rice was slightly off with the sauce.The Carrot Smoothie was horrible. But the Staff are Nice and friendly.

First time here. The food was great, the service was on point, and the young girl was friendly and polite, and the atmosphere was nice. It makes a difference when the staff and customers are polite and respectful in the establishment. Have visited again with family for tske out and great service.

Excellent food and excellent delivery

Food is simply amazing focused more on Jamaican Caribbean and African food but also there is so much variety and they make it from Fresh and I have been eating there a lot lately also I'm amazed with friendly a customer service ladies and the chef always they are smiling and polite to customers. Great vibes great atmosphere it's always good to go to gem rock so if you get a chance to visit it in Thornton Heath Croydon it's definitely worth a visit you will not be disappointed

Everything was great but I am missing one of the orders of plantain I ordered.

Only popped in to grab a quick takeaway for lunch. But the food looked amazing so picked something up for lunch and dinner later on. Delicious

Missing food items, when I called back the restaurant the Renk African woman who serves at front till said she forgot to add the item and was rude cause she had “other customers”. It’s only cause I was working from home why I didn’t fly down there and teach her about customer service and how NOT to talk to people! Apart from that I’ve never had any issues with jam rock as I’m a regular customer but sort out ms Renk at the till.

New to the area and went there last night. Cosy dinning area, friendly staff and delicious food. Definately returning soon.

Was out not far from venue, decided to check it out with friends. Good music which makes a great atmosphere. There was food but didn't eat, as already eaten earlier.

I always get a very high standard of service from both the restaurant and bar staff the food is always Lush!and nothing is too much trouble im always welcomed with a smile and the customer service is really really very good i would have given 5 stars but the bar lets it down when it comes to the music that is played there,i find it to be very dated and the same music is played when im there most weekends,not what i call enticing variety is the spice of life,I Love Jamrock as do many others..

Excellant best food around the area on point and great portions the chicken red peas soup delicious.

Previously I reviewed as the best food in Thornton Heath, but the standsrds have dropped over the past 6 months... the food does not taste as though it has been freshly cooked on the day.

I'd probably give this a 4.8/5 just because it took a while to get the food to us with only 2 people serving and it being super busy in the takeaway bit but the ladies were apologetic and courteous. The food was delicious with good portions and the place was clean and staff were lovely. Would go again in a heartbeat and can see why its popular

Oxtail rice and peas very nice. Escovich fish and sprats really hard as it was over heated in microwave by restaurant. The fish was an expensive waste of money. My husband was very upset and disappointed.

lovely shop with lovely staff. i ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and did ask for steamed veg but was missed out. while waiting for the food i was asked if i wanted it warmed up. at this moment i realised this shop was a mistake, but seeing as i had already ordered i decided to wait. the food smelt lovely but what i was eating was leftover food. the rice was dry and hard. the chicken was dry. the sauce was really tasty but the food was old. don't know weather it was a day or 2 or maybe even a week but was not made fresh on the day. i wish i looked at the reviews before as many have mentioned the chicken is old chicken

The service is terribly poor. I waited so long I just ended up leaving not even have a member of staff acknowledging I was in the store. It wouldn't be so bad if it were 30 seconds but seven minutes! The food is really nice but like so many Carribbean takeaway/restaurant establishments the customer service is below the bare minimum. You aren't greeted, or told you'll be seen to soon or 10 minutes. You try to support local business by spending your hard earned money & your treated like Rubbish.

Jamrock did not deliver the food that I ordered. I requested a snapper fish they sent me brim and I requested fish tea and they sent me chicken soup albeit still delicious but not what I had ordered which was disappointing and for that reason I would have to order my food in person

Any time in the area I stop and buy my loaf of hard dough bread and Bun 😋

Oxtail very tasty but chicken curry not very nice. Fried dumplings a little over cooked. Rest was fine.

The food was nasty and cold when i received it. I asked for boiled food which stated on the menu consisted of boiled dumpling 2 yam and green banana instead I have green banana and yam with no dumpling. And the fried chicken taste like it was yesterday’s left overs, this is the second time I’m having problems I’ll never order from here again absolute waste of money.

Have tried to order food from this restaurant several times... 2pm, 5pm, 6pm etc and there is always a problem!! Either food hasnt been made or has sold out. They really need to keep on top on their online profile. Today I ordered half an hour before they opened... and again, problems!! The food is good... however, customer service needs a lot of work!!
