Had a take away from here this evening after doing some research and this place seemed the better one in the area. Im afraid we were actually very disappointed. We spent the best part of £70. The main courses lacked authentic flavour. The kurma was watery, the chicken tikka masala was in a keema sauce (which was not clear on the menu, and should be called keema masala if that's the case, i didn't enjoy the flavour and didnt eat it), the labrandada was so bland and disappointing. With mains being £10-£13 ish prices were high but i wouldn't have minded if it was tasty. Look, the naan was nice, the rice was nice, the poppadoms were nice so i will compliment that part. As a celebration meal whilst on holiday, we are disappointed and would sadly not recommend. Im gutted to have waisted my hard earned money.

If spice is your thing then Jalalabad is for you. The food was absolutely delicious, well presented and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The restaurant is clean and bright - a welcome change from the often dark interiors so ubiquitous amongst curry houses. The food was cooked to order and the chef did us proud. Spicy Dahl, hot and fragrant, perfect aloo gobi, a lamb balti, light hot and totally delicious. Our only regret was that we couldn’t eat more. All in all a great meal - one of the best we’ve had.

Great choice of foods, we had korma and biryani dishes. Good portions but not too large. Cobra on tap. Good selection of desserts. Staff very friendly and accomodating.

Good food, but don’t get it delivered! Delivery always take around 1 hour 45- 2 hours. When delivery states 1 hour.

Nothing too much trouble for these lovely guys. They are so pleasant and make you feel welcome, despite being so busy, they still treated us well. Food was great. Would love to try Christmas day!! Sadly, not possible.

Don't order delivery from this place! Placed an order around 6.30.Told we would revives food 7.30, seemed fine for a Saturday. Called when it was 10 mins late and they said they were busy and wouldn't be long. Called half an our later to ask how long our meal would be and still another half an hour, and when we said that was too late we'd have to cancel they didn't even apoligise. So if you eat there you're probably OK but if you're a regular customer who wants a delivery you'll be very low on their list of priorities. I guess Leominster is a small place, with not many choices so they can treat customers as badly a they like and still be busy

Visited for the first time after moving to the area, and receiving a recommendation from a friend. One of the best Indian meals we have had in Herefordshire. Excellent range of dishes, beautifully spiced and prepared, with unique offerings, with excellent fish options. The service was impeccable and the whole team very friendly and ready to talk through the menu. We are definitely going to be regulars from now on and planning to work our way through the whole menu.

So disappointed in our visit. Have known this restaurant for years when the Father ran it. The service we received was poor. The chap that took our order pushed for expensive wine. He appeared irritated and preoccupied. We asked for desert menu and he said they were closing and they didn't do deserts?! Then he said we could have an ice cream??? We left at around 21.45. We shan't return

Brilliant service. Phoned up as just walked out of another restaurant in Hereford and got a table booked. Excellent service, food was delicious and even though they were busy the service was quick.

We only visit this lovely place when we are on holiday in the area and never miss. Going for 30 y or more… great food and the best service and friendliness of any staff I’ve ever seen. Always happy to tweak the menu from Butter chicken to Butter prawn.. I’m an awkward eater… but they do it and it’s great. See you later in the year.xxxxxx

OK, takeaways can be a little slow coming, but always worth the wait. Menu is nicely varied, and it's our preferred Indian restaurant.

We've had takeaways from the Jalalabad many times and it's always been hot and delicious. The spinach pilau is so good! Naans are fluffy and tasty. Curries are always full of flavour and taste fresh. We've tried to get delivery twice, once it was late, the other time it never came at all. I called but the guy hung up, possibly by accident. Usually I'd never go back to a place after that but it tastes so good, we just make sure to collect. It's a nice place to eat in but we tend to have it as a takeaway after the kids are asleep!

What can I say, from the time I phoned to book a table until the time we left, the service was excellent. The 2 waiters were attentive and welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. The tandoori salmon was delicious, and the garlic chicken was so tender with fragrant, fresh coriander to enhance and compliment the flavours. The apple chutney served with the pickles and chutney alongside the poppadoms was so tasty. We eat out at Indian restaurants regularly and this is, by far, the best. I just wish we lived nearer but we will definitely return when we visit with family in the area again.

Food pick up at 6pm, still waiting at 6.45pm, no apology or explanation, the meal was poor quality, very small portions, staff are very rude! Stay away!

My wife and I have been ordering takeaway food from this restaurant for many years. We had such high regard for the quality of the food and service. Sadly this has deteriorated due to lengthy waits, missing items, and inconsistent quality. Our last order was the straw that broke the camels back. It was over 2 hours and the food was nearly inedible. So disappointed. I rarely post on TripAdvisor but am so unhappy especially since we have been loyal customers. The enclosed photo illustrates how terrible our last delivery was.

Haven’t been since before the first lockdown, so it was a pleasure once more to visit Jalalabad. Lovely biriyani and bhuna. I like a hot curry and the madras sauce was spot on - hot enough to enjoy and yet retain taste. Keep supporting your local restaurants!

Quite a few Asian restaurants just focus on the food with the ambience / lighting an after thought. This was a pleasant exception. Nicely decorated and they even had a tropical fish tank that was well maintained! They even played Asian background music!Loved the salmon Tikka starterfor main, I had the Tandori mixed sea food. Only criticism here was that there was a lot of veg, but not much sea food. I would happily have paid more for a better mix.Overall, a very good meal. The owner of 30+ years came to say hello, which was nice, and the staff were all great.Very reasonably priced. Will certainly visit again when we return in May!

Visited on a Wednesday evening whilst on staycation nearby. Our 1st meal out since the beginning of covid. We hadn't booked but they found us a table. It was busy even midweek so I'd recommend booking. The service was impeccable but we did have to wait an hour for our food. This was the reason for not giving top scores. The food was extremely good. Not swimming in ghee and well spiced. Keema naan was a little stodgy but that would be my only criticism. The chicken jalfrezi was excellent. I would certainly visit again if I'm ever in the area and definitely recommend it for a very good, reasonably priced curry.

Our second visit this summer and it certainly won’t be too long before our next: delicious food each time; I’ll be eating their honey drizzled peshwari naan in my dreams! Incredibly friendly FOH with a dazzling smile. Highly recommend.

A very good restaurant serving a wide selection of Indian and Bangladeshi dishes. Our food was well cooked in generous portions. Service was good and efficient. We would eat here again with pleasure.

First ever visit to the town and we took a punt at this eatery. From the first entrance the staff were superb, welcoming and polite.The set up is really nice and the Dodd was exceptional and I can see why they have won awards.Cannot recommend it highly enough!Visit and you will not be disappointed

I'm not local and needed a meal, that was good for gluten intolerance. The staff were helpful, friendly and it was a tasty well spiced meal. The only downside - it's two hours drive from where I live but if I'm in Herefordshire again, I now know a good Indian restaurant.

We were staying at a cottage on vacation nearby and adore Indian/Bangladesh cuisine.Parked at the little car park adjoining the restaurant and went inside to browse the extensive menu.Three very happy chaps greeted us, we ordered main courses and many side dishes and then took the opportunity to have an Indian lager as we waited.Enjoyable banter, efficient service we took our for back to the cottage to enjoy our feast.Generally delicious food and good value for money.

Wonderful find and beautifully presented food served by courteous staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Very ambient surroundings and immaculate with the best Indian cusine I've tasted in a LONG time. Thank you for a lovely evening and to the owner who also took the time to come out and say hello. Went out with a couple of friends , food was absolutely amazing as always , the only fault I can mention was that when we visited the toilets due to an issue with water pressure etc there was no water to wash hands in once flushing the toilet but we used our own hand wash etc so it dealt with the issue. But returning soon for another visit

Another fabulous curry from (in my opinion) the best curry house in South Shropshire. An extensive menu with some different dishes, not your average curry house.

Never had a bad meal. Can’t fault the food! They need to sort out their collections it’s horrendous. Ever since the first lockdown you would be told how long it would be until you can collect the food. But everyone gets told similar times. With maybe 15 people waiting for a takeout all at the same time. Then having to wait at least another hour for the food. Joke!

Massive shoutout to all at Jalalabad for the way they treated my 82 year old Mum and family the other day. Perfect customer service, awesome food and the utmost regard and kindness show to her. during particularly difficult times. Oustanding, so thank you all and a Happy New Year x <3

Went to Jalalabad tonight for food, had salmon starter and Shishka starter with Lobster and Tandoori Murge Massala and it was all exceptional. Couple that with the really attentive and friendly staff ( you won't find nicer staff anywhere) this is hands down my favourite restaurant for miles. 100% recommended.

We visited Leominster to see family and weren't expecting to find many places open, but stumbled across this absolute gem. The staff were warm and friendly and the food was divine. My husband got the garlic king prawn and let me have a bit - one of the best things I've ever had (made me regret not getting a starter!) I had a chicken dish from the "specialties" menu (sorry I don't remember what is was called) and a paratha and both were fantastic. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

We have been here several times before when visiting family in Leominster. This time, the menu choice and quality of food was just as good as ever but the service was so slow. There were not many "sit-down" diners in but takeaway orders were being dealt with thick and fast. We waited nearly an hour from the time we ordered to receiving our food with no explanation or apology. Every time a takeaway order went by, we thought "we must be next", but no - still the takeaways were going strong.

On holiday from Scotland went here twice in the week and I must say the food was fantastic and the staff very friendly Would highly recommend it Mix tandoori a must

We have been here several times before as we consider it to be the best Indian restaurant in Leominster. This time, the previous experiences were surpassed! Why? The menu has been revamped since we were last here so now there are the old favourites but some new and exciting dishes especially in the Starters section. I think there might be a new chef. We all chose differntly and we were all very pleased with our choice. I like a medium curry with sauce. I chose the Agra Lamb and I shall definitely be having that again!Another factor is the enjoyable evening was a particular waiter; young, personable and with a very witty streak. The banter we enjoyed with him was second to none. Word of advice to Jalalabad; keep this waiter on as he adds totally to the overall experience. The service was slick, excellent and interesting food and brilliant service. Can't fault it. Well done, Jalalabad!

Horrendous pink chicken twice! When you’ve sent a chicken dish back once for being very obviously undercooked, never do you expect for it to come back just as pink! Chef was adamant, FOH said they wouldn’t charge for any of our food because it was obviously pink but I left hungry

Lovely tasty meals with nice wine. Excellent service led by the top man Taz! Nothing is too much trouble - wonderful buzz in the place and we look forward to returning again soon.

We booked for a party of eight friends to celebrate a birthday. We arrived to a warm welcome and found that the table had been decorated for us. The menu was extensive and included a number of dishes we had not come across before, several of which we ordered. The staff were attentive but unobtrusively. They had suggested that we could bring a cake if we wished and at the appropriate moment they dimmed the lights and brought it in with candles. We loved the food and had a great evening.

A group of 10 of us had been motorcycling in Wales all day so we were all ready to eat on the trip home. Everything looked a bit dull in Leominster but Jalalabad was different and looked very inviting. The restaurant was extremely clean and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The tables were comfortable and the menu had a great choice for all tastes. Hakim looked after us and the service was very efficient. Everybody really enjoyed the food which was first class and the staff ensured we had a great visit. I would recommend this restaurant for anybody as a must do if visiting/passing through Leominster.

Friendly Welcome and amazing choice of food, we had the Monday to Wednesday special which included a starter, Main and a choice of either Rice or Naan. Highly Recommended !

We stopped off after a golf trip to Wales. We ended up having a full blown meal and it was excellent. Front of house staff very friendly and all done with a sense of fun. Great meal.

12 of us came for a weekend break at the Arbour and ordered food from here. The food and service was excellent, so much so we ordered a second night. All delivered in great time and food was hot on arrival. I would highly recommend.

Never had a bad experience here but we were somewhat disappointed after recommending to meet here with friends. Friendly, polite greeting and only short wait for a table. Large menu to chose from and the obligatory poppadoms offered to start. Main dishes where average sized, quite bland, not that appealing to look at (chick tikka korma dishes were so pink they looked like prawn cocktails!) and the rice (which we usually share) was small. Naan bread was lovely and freshly cooked. Staff very attentive but also annoying by persistently asking if we wanted more drinks. Overall ok, but won’t be hurrying back.

This is the best Indian Resterant in Leominster, you can also get a meal delivered. The food is excelent and the Resterant is lovely, if you love Indian food don't miss Jalalabad

If you want a good curry and great service this is the place to go! The staff are fantastic and make you feel so welcome, there was a little mistake with our order and it could of easily been our fault when ordering but we were offered free drinks and nothing was too much trouble.

We were staying on a local camp site and overheard the family next to us saying this was the best place for a takeaway in the area so we decided this was the one for us too.

We often have a small meal but visit our favourite establishments more regularly, especially in the week when they’re not so busy. The Jalabad is perfect for this. No pressure to buy tonnes of poppadoms or naan. Just choose your curry and the friendly staff will make it happen. Probably the only curry house now in Leominster we’d eat at, after having bad takeaways from two well-known others who were rushing and serving tasteless meals. No good doing a roaring trade in takeaway and messing things up in the restaurant and vice versa. The specials are excellent, but the regular tikki massala, dupiaza, jalfrezi, rogan josh and madras are good value as a more frequent meal out. Nice interior, parking nearby and an aquarium to distract you with exotic fish! Highly recommended.

Just got home from a meal out in the best ever Indian restaurant in Herefordshire in my opinion, staff are friendly and inviting and nothing is too much trouble. The food is just perfect, fresh and beautifully presented. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you jalalabad for yet another perfect meal and a lovely evening. See you all again soon

Can't rate how friendly and helpful this restaurant was. On a caravan site. Phoned in advance to check they would deliver. Once rsmg back to order. The gentle man was nothing but helpful. Thank you. Will def return when in the area again. Just to add best Indian I've tasted in a long time

The Jalalabad is a highly professional and authentic curry house. The menu gives plenty of choice without being irritatingly long, as some places are. Dishes are well described to help customers select their preferred style. I like authentic curries which have varying spices and you can be sure of a good selection here. Staff are helpful, friendly and efficient but also give you the privacy to enjoy your meal. We have come across too many curries that have been hurried recently, failure to cook onions properly, etc. but found the food at the Jalalabad was spot on for a week night.

As a huge lover of Indian food and having been to numerous restaurants I have to say this one is right up there with the best of them. The staff are lovely, very welcoming & friendly and the layout and ambiance in the restaurant is perfect for couples and groups alike. The menu is great, the offer they have on in the week is an absolute bargain for the quantity and ultimately, excellent quality of what you receive. As a group of 4 with varying taste requirements, we found that nothing we asked for was too much trouble, everything was accepted with a smile and when the dishes came out they were outstanding. Perfect mix of spice and flavour, presented beautifully. I cannot recommend Jalalabad enough, we don't live locally but it's well worth the 45 minute drive as I cannot fault the service and wonderful food. Very much looking forward to our next trip already!

Really impressed with our first visit to Jalalabad. We came on a Wednesday evening and had the £12.99 4 course set menu. Every course was a delight and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be back!

Even with all the choice of Indian cuisine in Leominster Jalalabad is my favourite hands down. The service is always polite and friendly - if you happen to go on a weekend it might be a little slower but it's always worth the wait.

We have just been to the Jalabad for the first time. The sagwala was amazing, the chicken literally melted in my mouth! And the jalfrezi was equally as good. Brilliant service, all staff really friendly! We will be back!

They often are slow with my takeaway order. They generally get it wrong charge a lot for popadoms. Their recent hygiene rating is only one star so I will not be eating there again!

In Leominster for weekend. Ate at the restaurant one evening and had a take- away next. Nice clean, comfortable restaurant Fantastic tasty food and good portions. Will definitely return. Would have been 5 stars but service was a bit slow and there was no sparkling wine ( despite three listed on drinks menu).

I stayed for 1 night in Leominster on a business trip and fancied a curry and a pint on the night. I came across this restaurant and decided to have my meal here. Once I had ordered I heard coughing and wretching from the kictchen and mentioned to the waiter that it sounded like some one was dying in the back and started to consider the hygiene standards of this place. The waiter must have told the kitchen staff and the guy shouted “F@&ck; him - I’m coughing”. The Wiesel of a man should have come out and spoke to me directly if he took issue - I was more concerned about my health and what I was about to eat. The food was over priced, poorly presented and bland. Never again.

Date night... wonderful food I had a korma and my husband had a jalfrezi best korma I’ve ever had. Staff polite and couldn’t do enough for us even gave us a complimentary drink highly recommend will not be disappointed best curry in Herefordshire

Chicken rogan gosh, prawn dopiaza neither had any spice or heat. The prawn puri starters were absolutely fine, so I assume the Chef fotgot to put something in our mains ?

We go to the jalabad regularly, the meals are always lovely full of flavours and very enjoyable. The staff are always very welcoming and polite.

This is about the 4th time we have traveled down to this fantastic restaurant. Always made to feel very welcome and it really is a gem of a place. The food is second to none. Even the mother who is a real food critic and can moan about anything ,was so impressed that the only thing she did moan about was the size of the portions. Due to this she has chicken madras for tomorrow’s breakfast .

We went to the Jalalabad following a recommendation from the staff at Leominster Golf Club and we were certainly not disappointed. The place was spotlessly clean, the staff were courteous and friendly and the food was superb. The food is freshly cooked and you are not at all rushed. Excellent all round. Thankyou.

This is my third visit. The food is beautifully cooked (not running with grease here!). The service is friendly and attentive without being pushy. The environment is cool and relaxing and the table linen gives a feel of real quality.

We always pop into the Jalalabad. They have an excellent range of fish curies which I haven't found elsewhere. We had the monk fish curry this time but would recommend the whole sea bass as well. Friendly service and tasty food.

Birthday meal with family at what has up to now been our Indian of choice in Leominster. Had a meal up to the usual standard however bizarrely when it cam to time to pay things went awry. when we tried to pay by card we were told that the machine had been problematic for at least a day and the transaction didn't work. Without any apology and very dismissively I was told I had to walk round the bank and get cash, as although I had some on me I didn't have enough to cover the bill. This was not a pleasant experience due to some of the aggressive characters on the street at that time of night. When I returned with cash we had lost the hand written itemised bill, which they were grumpy about, so we just got up and left without leaving a tip (first time ever that we have not tipped generously there). As a regular customer it was the indifferent attitude of the staff around the bill and payment and to fixing the problem with the device that I found very strange and unacceptable and it certainly took the edge off of the evening. Sufficiently so for me to try other Indian restaurants in town next time, which I wouldnt have considered previously.

Had our first takeaway from here last night. Excellent actually, wasn’t expecting it to be that good. It was a Sat night and was packed, and the food was much better quality than I’d expected for a rural takeaway. We had Tandoori mix starter, lamb shank slowly cooked special and lamb gosht. I’ll definitely go again.

Ordered a delivery for my dad’s birthday. We are regular onsite diners too. The food here is great. If you like spicy the madras is lovely. Also like the chilli paneer starter. My dad loves the Chana Bhuna & mum & I always share a Saag side or Saag Aloo. Tarka Dhal is really good too. Can’t fault it! Will continue to be a regular when I am in Leominster!

I love my curries and was taught how to make them at a very early age, by ladies from many countries (Filipino, Indian, Thai etc) whatever country my dad was working in/ peoples he was working with at the time

Only place to go - cannot fault the place - booked Friday night for 20.30 - excellent reception, excellent food, excellent staff - so went the next night also - simply cannot fault the place - clean, great food and a very varied menu. Enjoyed it so much wnet back on Saturday which was more hectic than Friday - however, be aware - the portions are great - so perhaps go easy on the pops and pickles - we have ate in a lot of Indian restaurants - but this is one of the best - folks - up and move and go somewhere to expand - you will be more than successful - oh and thanks for the Irish coffees on the second night on the house - and the bullet chillies! My wife and I will recommend anyone to come to your place. I reckon we will be seeing you before the year is out

Visited for my 2nd time last night and it was as good as the 1st. Food was excellent along with the service. Even my daughter and nephew were blown away with the food. Really wished it was 35 mile away from where we live as would visit a lot more but well worth the trip for the welcome and flavour. Many thanks for a great night and will see you again very soon . People of Leominster are really lucky to have such a great Indian restaurant on their doorstep. 10/10

Highly recommend this restaurant, the staff are attentive and friendly, the menu is extensive with some interesting house dishes and the food arrives promptly. They even took the shells off my king prawns for me, and offered complimentary drinks at the end of the meal- fabulous service!
