Nice ice cream but was double charged by the staff when she told me my first transaction was declined. Checked the bank and I've been charged twice so clearly exploting the fact I was busy looking after the children. Will not be going back!

We stopped for ice cream here and were blown away by it! We go to the seaside often and always stop for ice cream, so when I say this is by far the best ice cream we have ever had, I don’t say it lightly. I can’t recommend it enough 12 out of 10 !!

The most fantastic Ferrero Rocher ice cream, it’s incredible. However a smile from the people serving really would not go a miss - really not at all welcoming.

We stopped for ice cream for our 4 year old after an amazing visit to Durdle Door What a MISTAKE, the old woman at the ice cream counter which faces the street was inexcusably racist. She clearly had an attitude problem in itself as she didn't really bother to serve the white family in front of us pleasantly more a series of grunts but at least she acknowledged them and served them. We approached the counter and she began shaking furiously and gave us some of the dirtiest looks, she then just looked away as if to dismiss us, not even "What can I get you or what would you like?" - NOTHING. In my shock I said clearly you don't want to serve us so we won't be wasting our money here but on reflection I'm furious. In this day and age there is no reason for hating someone and being rude to someone based on the colour of their skin. I then had to explain to my innocent and kind child why we had to walk away from the ice cream shop without his ice cream. This treatment and behaviour was disgusting and this woman should not work in a tourist industry if she is so unwelcoming of all people. Luckily for us the lady in the ice cream kiosk across the way was so kind and served us politely and with warm words and a smile. Shame on you. Ruined an otherwise perfect day in the area, wouldn't recommend the ice cream or the attached restaurant saltwater grill or whatever it's called. AVOID AVOID AVOID Stamp out hate and racism by hitting vulgar nasty people where it hurts the most their business!! don't stand for it EVER.

We recently stayed in the area for a short break, the Saltwater Grill was recommended by our Air B&B host and it did not disappoint. In fact, we kept going back ice creams, snacks and lunch. A good menu and excellent service. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Shout out to Ellie and all the team.

Bought 2 ice creams and a doggy ice cream. Sadly whilst 1/2 way thru the salted caramel discovered 2 strands of hair in my ice cream😝 My husband had clotted cream fudge, thankfully no additional “hair flavouring” remarked how nice it was. Would of returned and complained, but warm day and long queue at the cafe. My doggie did not like the “doggie” ice cream, think she has acquired a taste for diary vanilla ice cream. Shame as it was until the “hair flavouring” a nice ice cream. I must add my husband has no hair and mine shoulder length, certainly wasn’t ours😳😳

To be honest, after reading the reviews, I’m not even sure we went to the same place…place we went too didn’t have an indoor cafe but what it did have was an incredible window selling the most fanatic selection of gelato! We had pistachio and peanut butter and it was AMAZING! Friendly staff too. Loved it!

After seeing the pizzas being served we thought the restaurant looked great so popped in after our walk to Durdle Door - so very hungry. We had to wait over an hour for our order and was very disappointed with the food when it finally arrived. My sons pizza was ok but pretty tasteless and my lobster and prawn salad was a joke. Tiny bits of lobster and prawns that looked like they were out of a tin. The dish was tasteless with no dressing. On top of that the service was appalling. Extremely unfriendly, no apologies for the late food. Several people complained of the same issues and the staff just didn’t seem to care. Would not recommend.

Ice creams were nicely prepared and presented (e.g. with pieces of strawberry in the strawberry ice cream). Waffle cone was nice too. The cones were handed to us after the lady had taken her serving glove off which I did note in these covid times. Might bother some.

Four of us had the ice cream and would definitely return. The ice cream was delicious and very generous with the servings. Between us we had chocolate orange, peanut butter, clotted cream with fudge, honeycomb and salted caramel and would recommend all of them, very good value for money.

Had a takeaway Americano. Clearly instant coffee - tasted disgusting. Threw it away. Plenty of better opportunities just next door.

My friend had the vanilla and fudge ice cream and I had the salted caramel,they were both delicious and a good single portion.definitely would try some more flavours as spoilt for choice. Made on site too.

Good Food & great service. After a walk to Durdle door and back we stopped for lunch. Waitress overworked but very hospitable and hard working.

I’m not one to go looking for a fry up normally but knew I had a drive home ahead of me.... So glad we did go as the service was happy and friendly and the good hit the spot!! All 3 of us tucked into our breakfast and loved it!

After a long walk up to Durdle Door and back, and a gentle stroll round Stair Hole and the Cove we stopped for a meal at Jakes Cafe as there was an empty table! Good choice. Service was very efficient and friendly. Well done Alicia. The fish and chips were piping hot and very tasty. Portion size was good. It was good to be able to sit outside on such a hot day. They even had a bowl of water for those dogs whose owners were having refreshments. Would definitely visit again as we live in the west country and come down to the coast quite often.

Wow, what can I say, after a a very long walk, we stopped for a lovely lunch and a drink. Very friendly and very accommodating. The staff were outstanding. Definitely come back if I’m in the area again.

Great ice cream - butterscotch, cherry and hazelnut. Waffle cone lovely and crisp. Husband’s mint choc chip was a bit disappointing. Cafe was closed

After reading the very good reviews I was disappointed with the rum and raisin ice cream. The consistency of the ice cream was good and the cone lovely and crispy but it might as well have been ice cream with raisins as, as I could not taste any rum. Lovely ice cream, but not what I ordered.

We popped in for an afternoon cream tea, which I was told had run out, but the waitress was so friendly and sat with us and read through the menu. We had a nice afternoon lunch and a friendly chat, well worth the pit stop when you are in Lulworth.

I visited here with my daughter . We had breakfast 2 mornings in a row. The food was spot on. Ellie the host/waitress was brilliant... she made the visit a pleasure.... 10/10 Gemma and Macy 😄

Amazing breakfast. Super bubbly host which makes it a fun experience called Ellie. Recommend the gut buster breakfast. Would definitely use jakes for breakfast again.

Due to COVID and some problems with decking in the garden, breakfast was a takeaway eat on a nearby bench. And wow, what a breakfast! Staff are friendly too. Highly recommended.

I visited Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door with my family on Friday for the day. On our walk to the cove, we were greeted by a bubbly and enthusiastic girl with bright red lipstick on at Jakes Cafe. She made us feel very welcome and wished us a great day. Lulworth Cove was packed with loads of tourists, so we took a brief walk around and decided to search for a bite to eat. The little shack on the beach wasn't appealing to us, especially after hearing terrible reviews from nearby customers. Upon returning to Jakes cafe, the same girl greeted us and recommended the beautiful local beef burger to us. This sure didn't disappoint and was probably one of the best burgers I have ever eaten! I highly recommend taking a visit to Jakes Cafe as the service is the best in lulworth!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our delicious cream tea boasting warm scones and hot tea served by the engaging staff.

After a walk to Durdle Door on a windy New Year's Day, Jakes was a welcome find for lunch. Our needs were simple; fish and chips for two, although I plumped for scampi once I saw it on the menu. Our lunch was delivered quickly with friendly service, it was hot and tasty and washed down with a bottle of Dorset Knob and a Sprite. Thank you and Happy New Year.

Pretty much the worst coffee I had from any shops, tasteless and pale beige in colour. Took it back and a different waitress concurred 'the colour doesn't look right' but insisted I had to pay for an extra shot. She showed it to the waitress who made the coffee & they took it to the kitchen. The coffee came out and the 2nd waitress begrudgingly added another shot. However, it was cold and halved in quantity. I suspect they swapped it with someone else's leftover in spite so I had to throw it away. Beware!

We had searched in the area for locally made ice cream for a couple and days and then one day down at Lulworth Cove, we found Jakes. Not just local but made in store. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING AN ICE CREAM FROM HERE IF IN LULWORTH COVE. Excellent service too!!!

My partner and I visited here while looking at the cove and Durdle Door. How amazing is this little gem of a place! The young lad serving us our ice creams was so attentive and very polite.The ice cream was the best we have had in a while and we highly recommend here.

Visited Lulworth Cove just for the morning. Came across this Café and had a full English breakfast. Breakfast was very good standard. Partner wanted a burger and even though it was early, they still served it. Burger was excellent - great quality again. Would definitely use again.

I’m a regular visitor to Lulworth Cove, but this was actually my first visit to Jake’s Ice Cream after being told how nice it was. I opted for 2 scoops in a waffle cone and went for peanut butter flavour and white chocolate flavour and I have to say it was the best ice cream I’ve tasted for a long time! Unfortunately though I can’t say anything positive about the customer service I received. I was served by a young lad who looked miserable and completely peed off. He was obviously not enjoying his job! He didn’t smile or even speak to me once! He didn’t even tell me how much my order came to. I handed him a twenty pound note and I didn’t even get a thank you! In fact a gentleman in front of me made a comment to the young lad saying that a please and thank you wouldn’t go amiss......and quite rightly so!! Some customer service training is much needed here!!!

We went to jakes for ice cream after hearing good things and joined the long queue. We were met by a very grumpy woman, we ordered white chocolate and honeycomb. She served it to us with blue streaks all the way through it, she had not washed the scooper from the previous customer before serving us and they had ordered bubble gum flavour. Not a flavour we like or wanted!! When I asked if she could scrape the bubblegum out she said no, when I asked for a pot so I could do it myself she said she would charge me, so I scraped it out into a tissue that she reluctantly held whilst having to listen to her tut and make rude remarks. She was so rude it really made me cross. The bubblegum flavour was throughout our ice creams and I couldn’t get it out, it overpowered the other flavours and so we chucked the £8 ice creams in the bin. It is standard to dip the scooper in water before moving into the next flavour, she seemed to think I was making a fuss out of nothing but if I wanted bubble gum flavour I would have ordered it! Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for ice cream there are plenty of other choices.

Took my sister her for lunch. £10 for a rubbish Iceland fish. My daughters kids fish fingers were rock hard!!!! Plus the staff are so unhappy and look like they are doing nothing but bickering

we were a group of 5, we went to the local chippy, they were rude and unaccomadating, we were told it was half hour wait, no appology, so walked away feeling hungry and despondant, when we came to Jakes cafe, we asked if we could have take away, the lady who served us said yes of course, we only wanted chips, and a tea, she was amazing could not do enough for us, she told us we could sit outside and she would bring them out to us, so we waited very little time, and these amazing chips were brought to us, crisp golden and with mayonaise were fab. this place has a back garden of a good size also, please try it it is amazing and all the staff are too , many thanks

We stopped in for a sandwich and were pleasantly surprised with the peaceful garden at the back of the cafe. Service was excellent from the young girl who was working by herself, doing a great job. Our food was delicious, freshly prepared, everything great. We took a caramel shortbread home with us for later which was very good too.

A great Crab sandwich, And Nice poached eggs on toast for my husband but had some waiting to do felt there wasn’t as much staff on as needed I only saw the two people who were run off their feet as the Cappachino didn’t arrive till after I had finished my sandwich, The owner apologised but it did spoil it a bit.

We stopped here for lunch today for my wife's birthday, predominantly because of the extensive gluten free options. We were not disappointed. The food was freshly cooked and delicious, not to mention cheaper than the other local establishments that we saw. Would highly recommend.

Stopped here today after a visit to Lulworth Cove. The prices seemed much more reasonable than the pubs opposite so stopped for a rest and something to eat.

we stopped here as they was serving food before 12pm however it was only after we ordered and paid was we told that the pizza oven was only just being turned on and we would have at least 20mins before they even started our food! so after waiting almost ahour for our food the pizza was great but then i realised how much we was charged!!! o28pound for a pizza, chips and 1 bottle and a can of drink??? how much is a bloody can of drink?? chips 2.80 and pizza 10.90!! over 10quid for 2drins!!! was a rip off wont be eating or drinking here again

Visited Lulworth Cove on Wednesday as the weather was so good, it is a lovely place to visit especially as we only live in Upton (Poole). Partner and I were going to pop into a café and have a cup of tea and a bun, as we passed Jakes my partner said what about here (Jakes) as we had a nice sandwich there last year. We decided as it was lunch time to have the small breakfast. What a good choice this was, the small breakfast wasn't exactly small, consisting of : egg, bacon, sausage, tomato, baked beans, fresh mushrooms, hash brown and toast and butter. It was delicious and hot. The sausage was gluten free and was the best I have tasted in a long time.

7 of us arrived friday.....Wow, great cafe for food. The staff and owner are very hospitable. We visited today 20th may and spent nearly 2hrs in there eating and drinking. The best place for value for money. You dont go youll miss out. We are going back before we go home friday for breakfast.

Stopped by on a Sunday morning for breakfast when other places were not open. Jake's looked busy and inviting. It was a good move. We sat outside and enjoyed very nice coffee followed by an excellent (and very filling) breakfast to set us up for the day. The food was good and served quickly and the staff were all very polite.

A good experience. 7 of us stopped here for lunch. It seemed to us that it was better value than other cafes in the area. Good food too. Well done.

We popped into Jake's for lunch on a busy bank holiday Sunday and the two ladies working there were so happy, friendly and helpful they made you feel immediately welcome. We ordered the crab and lobster burger and it was delicious. We sat in the garden which was a sun trap, and had a very relaxed meal. I would highly recommend this cafe as a great pit stop when exploring the Jurassic Coast.

We stopped off for Ice cream on way back to the car. Wow! Best ice cream I've had in ages! Would recommend and we would definitely revisit next time we are in the area.

Visited with husband and toddler for improptu cream tea on a cold and windy day. It was delicious. Best scones I think I have ever had. Service was really friendly and I feel like this place could be underated - definitely worth a pitstop!!

Can not recommend enough! The service was excellent and so was the food! The full English breakfast was huge not to mention the scones!

I called in for lunch on Friday after walking from Weymouth. I enjoyed the vegetarian all day breakfast. Service was good and this café is well worth a visit.

Jakes Cafe is well situated for lunch at Lulworth Cove. We had a good lunch there and will definitely return when we are in the area again

Visited Jake's Cafe today. We were greeted by a friendly lady who was very helpful. Cafe was very clean as was the toilet. We ordered local cheese burgers and they kindly replaced the cheese with blue cheese as requested. Chips were the best we had tasted. Cannot fault it at all. Hope to return soon.

Visited jakes cafe on Wednesday and the food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Try there gluten free scones they were delicious. I will definitely use jakes cafe again.
