Jaipur Indian in Pendle

I ordered nearly £50 worth of food, one item of which was a King Prawn bhuna. It was disgusting. I've never known "King Prawns" to be mushy, and like paste. About half the dish was like that, the rest of it resembled something from Area 51, and in no way could be called a King Prawn. I followed procedure and filed an online complaint. After waiting a week and receiving no reply I am left with no choice but to leave this review, to warn other people what they may be letting themselves in for.

This restaurant is wonderful! We had a large party of work colleagues and the staff could not be more accommodating. The food was of a very high standard and pricing extremely reasonable.

We were passing and called in, so glad we did. Sunday afternoon it was a bit quiet; the place was spotless and staff very attentive. We had pops, starters and main course, everyone had something different and every single thing was spot on. Friendly and efficient staff, great food, nice relaxed atmosphere - everything was just right. Not expensive either. Can highly recommend this fantastic restaurant, we hope to go back soon!

Had a takeaway from Jaipur a few times now and always enjoyed it. Food is great and a good varied menu. We are vegetarian and found a good selection of food suitable for us.

One of the worst meals I’ve had for quite a while dry almost inedible flavourless meat. Very disappointing meals. Both our takeaway meals looked and tasted like they had been cocked days ago and reheated. I wouldn’t recommend getting food from here

Absolutely excellent and very reasonable This looks like a takeaway from outside, but whilst they have a very busy takeaway service, it’s definitely a restaurant. White li en tablecloths, special offers early weekdays. Very courteous and excellent food.

Friendly attentive service, tasty food and good value with the 2 for 1 offer. 2 adults and 2 children all very happy with our meals. The naan bread was fantastic too. Will return.

Came on the recommendation of a friend. Had the Sunday buffet. Was OK but not up to the standards we now know. Restaurant was cold, we had to ask them to put the heating on. Choices were the cheap end of a restaurant menu. Very little meat in the main courses. If you had not been before you may think it OK, but we'll not go again. Much better and cheaper places around. Sorry.

Went there for our monthly curry night and was surprised to find it busy on a Wednesday night. Mon to Weds they have a good offer on if you go early.There are also offers Thurs and Friday.The food is good and the service is second to none.Would definitely go again.

Just had the very unfortunate experience of collecting a takeaway from this restaurant. What a bad mistake!! Ordered a garlic naan with chicken tikka. A Southern Indian chilli chicken with sagaloo. The naan was totally dry without any garlic taste & inedible. The sagaloo & Chilli Chicken which is my regular choice were so over hot they were actually unpleasant to taste & impossible to eat!!! Never again. This chef has absolutely no idea how to properly spice any dish.

Food is always excellent and very good price. For a person who is not a massive fan of curry, Jaipur have really surprised me at how tasty some of the curry’s are for the less spicy palate.

We have visited the restaurant and used their takeaway service on numerous occasions and can honestly say they are the best in Colne. The food is freshly cooked, so there may be a delay. The flavours are fresh and delicious. They are always are "go to" when we have been away. Always puts a smile on our faces. Other curry houses may have their good "moments" but Jaipur get it right every time.

I dont normally leave takeaway reviews but this was out of the ordinary. Incredible flavours combined with great textures creating amazing curries. These guys know how to cook! Loved it! Thanks

Visited the restaurant for the first time as a result of a Trip Advisor search. We were not disappointed. The starters were tasty and appropriately spiced. Main courses were amazing- the fish dish particularly so. An extra nice surprise was the 2-4-1 before 9pm. Will return.

Great 3 courses each at a sensible price. Loads of choices. Pleasant service will visit again.Only criticism was lack of table space.

Really good food. My favourite bit is that you can order the sauce to whichever curry you get. So me and my partner always order a chicken tikka massala and share it. Because there is plently of chicken we will order another sauce too as extra instead of having to order two curries which wouldnt get fully eaten. The only bad experience was when we got a takeaway and only realised it was at the door when we heard the delivery man arguing with one of the neighbours, We havent ordered since. Its a shame as it was good food.

Delivery advised would be 45 mins but actually took 1 hr and 40 minutes, two miles only involved in distance. Two phone calls to chase only resulted in lies rather than an honest response. and promise of a return call to determine what issue was resulted in no further communication and food was tepid when it landed. Complete waste of time and money for this family... Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone considering it..

Had another Takeaway last night and it was fantastic again. We've tried numerous Indian Takeaways around Colne, but this place definitely stands out and we are yet to have a bad experience. Would definitely recommend for takeout food.

Arrived back from holiday and ordered a take away from Jaipur. Ordered a Karahi, Kathmandu and a butter chicken and it was very very disappointing. The Butter chicken was two tone (either hadn’t been mixed or was split) the karahi was overly sweet and like the sauce was a jarred sweet n sour with some veg thrown in. Kathmandu stupidly hot with no flavour. The chicken was all tikka which is never my preference. Basically just thrown two thirds away which is gutting. The naan was banging though! We should have gone to Adams in Nelson as we usually do .

My husband and i went for an evening meal, we did not know it was buy one get one free until we were seated, we ordered our meal, the waiter came along and served us poppadoms and chutney, which we did not order but thought maybe complimentary so never said anything, the chutneys were really good. We got our main meal and ordered drinks. My husband got a chicken tikka and i got the King prawn Korma, we both got chappatis. the curry's were really good even though hubby's was a bit on the red side, i presume a little too much food colouring or spice. the staff were wonderful and attentive even though it was packed and we did not have to wait long for the food. Slight downside when we got the bill, they had charged us for the poppadoms which we ate but did not order. As we ate them, we did pay for them so we now know for future reference if we don't want, we will tell them when we sit down. We also got a takeout last week, they had a set menu for 2 and when i phoned i asked if i could change the curry's, also if i could have a Roti instead of 1 rice, they were very obliging and said no problem. We could have had free delivery but i opted to pick up and was ready on time. I would recommend the restaurant and the takeout service. The food is delicious.

Fab service, great value drinks and meal absolutely wonderful, could not fault a thing, we had the mid week 2 courses for a tenner with 3 large wines and 2 beers under 40 quid ! There are deals on all week including buy one get one free at weekend plus all you can eat buffet on a Sunday we will be regulars from now on !

What a wonderful takeout we’ve just enjoyed. The meat (chicken tikka and lamb) is delicious/tender and the dishes are ‘clean’ ie not oily. Garlic naan again really fresh and no oil at all.

I have been here a few times before and always enjoyed the food, I booked a table for 7 friends for the Sunday buffet before we went out for drinks in Colne and everyone had an excellent time and loved the food and service , all will be back they said

My husband and I don't go out often but thought we would treat ourselves for Easter. Oh dear! I really would like to write something positive but sincerely there wasn't anything. We were there for the Sunday buffet which we managed to drag out to 30 minutes and we're so so disappointed. The poppadoms were stale and dry, the starters I can only describe as bouncy and the mains I thought were soapy but my husband thought Asda did a better meal. Even the Naan bred wasnt cooked and tasted of flour and water. My drink which was just a lime and soda was flat and warm. Really sorry to write this as I do regularly write really good reviews for other local businesses but please don't go here as even for £10 it's just not worth it. So very disappointed and let down. The one star is for the staff who in their wisdom sent us upstairs so couldn't actually see how disappointed we were.

I booked here to celebrate (if that is the word) my 50th with my little family and couple of friends, there was 13 of us. The food was fantastic and it was buy one get one free, which you cannot beat ;) Our only gripe was that there was no draught beer, only bottles, which is ok but not when it's a warm night and the glasses were warm! We would have spent a lot more on alcohol if we could have had cold drinks, but that maybe is a good thing ;) Have already recommended this place :)

We come to Jaipur about once a month and love it. The service is excellent and we never feel either hassled or ignored the staff, who are all friendly and helpful. The food is of the same consistent quality and reasonably priced even before the 2 for 1 deal, especially for such large portions. The tandoori chicken in particular is a huge helping. We have never had a bad meal / experience there and that is what makes it a firm favourite of ours. Would recommend to anyone.

Our first time there; went with daughter and partner who had recommended it. Two-courser plus pops and pickles with beer and wine was £77 for the four of us, only slightly pricier than your basic local curry house but amply worth it.

The food and service here is still very good; deserving of 4 stars. However, sadly we felt this time the menu suffered from being made to a price. Basically, Monday to Wednesday, you get a popadom, a starter, a main and a rice or naan bread for £10! It’s just too cheap. The normal full menu is available Thursday to Saturday (with fixed price buffet on Sunday), but even then it’s BOGOF on starters / mains. Personally, I’d rather pay just that little bit more and get the full experience. No draught beer either, just bottled. You can’t knock the value, but food only good as opposed to great.

We actually came for a takeaway on Christmas Day evening. Curries were great but the sides i.e. Rice, Naan and Chips weren't great and quite cold. Starters weren't that impressive either. I've eaten in here before at it was much nicer so may need to try that again.

We visited early on a Saturday evening, we were given a table straight away. They have a good choice on the menu but I stuck to my usual chicken madras. The food was good and there was enough of it, we had the lemon rice with a garlic Nan bread and we were very satisfied with the meal. It was also a very reasonable price. We would return if we are ever in Colne again.

I suppose we eat here once a month or so. We are never disappointed. The food is superb, cooked to one's own requirements. Served by pleasant, helpful staff in comfortable surroundings at reasonable price.

The Chicken Tikka masala was quite nice although I was disappointed to discover that rice was not included! It didn't say that on the site so although I said I would order from here again, thinking about it I probably won't because then it gets very expensive.

Had lots of takeaways from here most have been 5 star good and always on time but the last was a disappointment 3 Curries that all tasted the same the only difference was the meat and one was a bit hotter .it's not that it was bad at all but all the same We had the same order 2 weeks ago and was totally different

No puedo llamar yo habitación 'pero me ha quizás diez veces en los últimos cuatro años. Nunca he sido menos que encantados con el personal, el ambiente, las opciones de menú, pero sobre todo la comida.

We go to this restaurant at least weekly. My heading says it all ! Really good food and the deals are great. Only slight hitch is the drinks are a bit expensive. Would definitely recommend

Excellent food. Not at all oily and very tasty. Each dish had its own distinct taste and was delicious. We ordered all dishes to a medium heat and they had enough spice without being too hot to appreciate the different flavours. Can't wait til our next order.

Another lovely meal tonight, don't usually do Sunday nights but the buffet was gorgeous. Arrived at 7pm and were shown to the last available table downstairs, all the rest were reserved. Popadoms and drinks brought straight away by friendly staff, starters and main courses a plenty to help yourself to (and the best tarka dall i've ever tasted) £27 all in including beers.

We have been coming here since it first opened and it has just got better and better which shows as it is now sometimes difficult to get a table as it is that popular.We have tried most of the menu and have never been disappointed, prices are very good with different specials depending on which day of the week you go.Service is always very attentive and quick but if you wish to take your time you are not rushed into leaving, we always have a bit of a break between starters and main courses as portions are very large but If you can't finish they will always offer to give the rest of the meal in take away form.We shall continue to frequent Jaipur (usually 2 or 3 times a month) Thanks for all the great meals.

We attended a meal for a celebration on a Sunday evening "Buffet" , never will i recommend this place to anyone to go for a meal. Where to start?? The service was very poor and the poor guy was alone to serve our party and another large party along with a few other tables in at the time. We had to go to the bar to order drinks down stairs, when you are stood at the bar you are also stood with the buffet directly to the right of you and a large table of other guests to your left. far too cramped and uncomfortable. Some of the party we were with ordered 2 bottles of Prosecco which took an age to get to the table and when it did they were told that the establishment only had one bottle! we asked for some water on our tables which we had to send 4 people to chase up after long periods of time. we ordered naan breads that took forever to get to us and when they did they were inedible because they were that burnt! then it was time to attend the buffet (down stairs right at the bar next to another large table) you would expect a buffet to be replenished and checked upon on regular intervals, but not here it seems its only replenished when you ask the staff to do so. then it takes an age to be done. if you want to go our for a meal and not eat this is the place for you. the place seems like carnage from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, I strongly believe that they are trying to do too much, being on just eat and having people walking in to order a takeaway and running a restaurant,for the team they had working was just far to much for them to deal with. its just a dam shame that our experience here was not a good one, i was looking forward to a good evening with good friends and celebrating for one of them which unfortunately was ruined but the lack of care taken by the establishment. so if your looking for a good Indian buffet please please look somewhere else

Booked this sad restaurant a few days ago for a table for two & was told 7.30pm was a good time!!We arrived at 7.30pm only to be told our table was not available as it had been given to a couple without any reservation.No table No food & manager hiding away so PLEASE don't waste your time with this excuse for a restaurant.Chippy takeaway is better option!!

No wine glasses on table. Only one bottle of prosecco available. Couldnt get them to bring more glasses. Couldn't get any drinks brought. No naans brought to table. No water no matter how often we asked. I went down to the buffet twice and there was no starters. Basically I ate next to nothing and was embarrassed to have taken my friends and family. Would never go again. I think they were possibly just short staffed but no apologies. Not sure why the bar isn't stocked.

Great range of unusual Indian dishes. Everything was well cooked and very tasty. Very busy on a Saturday evening, so be sure to book and ask for a table downstairs.

Ordered a takeaway from Jaipur on the weekend. The website is a bit misleading as the menu displayed is actually for the branch in another town and some items are not available in Colne. Vegetarian/vegan options are quite limited. Saag aloo was nice, and the lentil dish was ok, a bit too much garlic. The mixed vegetables bhaji wasn't great, the mushroom has an odd textures (very chewey, I thought it was bamboo first!) and a bit bland. I think my meat-eater counterparts appreciated their food much more than me!Peshwari naan was great too!Good pricing too.Overall the experience was alright, but a bit disappointing if you want the veggie option (also, no way to know if it's been cooked in ghee).
