Jaipur Indian restaurant High Street Woking in Woking

We have some good restaurants in Edinburgh serving Indian food but this establishment in the centre of Woking is right up there with the best. We were down for the Hampton Court Flower Show and needed somewhere good after a slightly damp day. We couldn’t have done better. Efficient and friendly staff, a good atmosphere with every table taken and clean fresh linen tablecloth and napkins results in something special – and that’s before you get on to the deliciously and subtly spiced dishes. The railway lamb lives up to its heritage and I would thoroughly recommend eating here.

Haven't eaten here for many years as moved out of the area but went for dinner with friends and it was fab - good service and lovely food - would recommend - probably one of the nicest indian restaurants/food I've had for a very long time.

Love the food and service here. Best curry in Woking, and probably Surrey! Food is outstanding, service attentive, just fabulous!!

I have been going to this restaurant for around 12 years and have always rated it. The food was good and the wine excellent. Alas my last visit was awful. From having a great selection of wines including a rather splendid Californian Zinfandel, their menu now has a listing saying merlot, malbec, etc. No details of the make or even country of origin. I tried to politely say to them that maybe they should reconsider this policy as no restaurant of any worth would do this. They just started arguing with me and acted if I didn't know anything about wine. Very sad. Can't see myself going there again.

Been a while since i have been here due to covid and its been best indian in the area for long time and nothing has changed still best around

I would not recommend this restaurant. We ordered our mains whilst eating our popadoms and they arrived 5 minutes later, as our plates were being cleared. While I understand it takes a long time to bring out the full depth of flavour in a curry dish, there is no excuse for serving up old and dry chicken (resembling old rope). The flavours were ok but everything was reheated, even the bhajis. The service was functional at best. I have given this 2 stars purely because the flavours were as you would expect.

Visited the last Friday before lockdown 2. The staff were rude from the outset. Masks not worn properly. We asked for the bill, paid, then gave us no time to get out despite it being 9.45, when we said we just wanted to finish our drinks they said if continued to refuse to leave they would call the police! We hadn't refused. To top it all off there was a £50 service charge slapped on.

On arriving noticed their covid compliancy was rubbish as it seemed to be up to the customers whether they wanted to to wear masks. Half the staff were wearing masks across their mouths but not their noses. Took ages to get a drink. When my vegetarian platter arrived I bit into my vegetable samosa to find meat! Obviously called a member of staff over to complain and they didn't seem to see the problem but said they would replace. When they finally exchanged we were asked if the manager had been over but he hadn't bothered! I had gone off my food at this point. No apology at all! Will not be going back and will be warning all of my friends especially the vegetarian ones.

We went to this restaurant on Saturday night and had a dire experience. Despite the new COVID rules, no details were taken on arrival, and no rules or advice given. Consequently most of the customers were wandering around the restaurant with no masks on. People were queueing for the toilets in a very small area without masks. Even some of the staff had masks hanging below their chins. There was an altercation between 2 customers when one asked another to put a mask on, all very unpleasant. We waited an hour and a half for our food to arrive, despite chasing.

2nd time visited this restaurant. Food excellent , staff excellent and friendly. Very clean well presented restaurant. I've eaten in many curry house restaurants this is a winer , highly recommended from a fussy critic.

This waa always our favourite restaurant with exceptional food but we ate in Sat Jan 18th and the food was dire and cold. Tarka daal bland, rice hard and dry and onion bhaji cold in the centre. I had a chicken tikka which usually comes to the table sizzling. The manager brought it out and it had been standing for a while. We have been coming here 15 years unfortunately we won't be returning.

Just had another fantastic meal at Jaipur. Flavours just incredible. Always 100% consistent. Nothing more to add really.

My husband and I popped in having looked up Indian restaurants near a hotel we were staying in. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely. We had a Madras and Nirali (asked for madras hot) both very tasty but we had to agree the Nirali was best. Would definitely recommend it.

I visited Jaipur with my partner and we honestly had the best meal we could possibly ask for. Restaurant wasn’t very busy but the ambience was perfect and the service was spot on! Amazing food, would recommend!

Had a couple of tasty takeaways from the Jaipur recently and very good food. We collected from their last week but there was nowhere to park and we nearly got booked by 2 vicious traffic wardens so tonight we had our meal delivered.
