Jade Gardens Restaurant in Tameside

Not a great experience, our food was lukewarm at best, so a nervous night in store... The bar man was clearly in need of training as there was issues with our drinks and it was difficult to get a fresh drink even though the restaurant was not busy. We had numerous starters which looked delicious but were salty, cool and of low quality. The mains we had were poor, the meat rubbery, the egg fried rice side dishes, not fresh, sticky. The curry sauce was congealed and we did not eat. Quite simply we may have been too big a group for them to accommodate, the food potentially could be good, however, our experience means we won't be returning.

It's very nice food they do there best . It's all so cheaper then man's wok in top Mossley and that's a takeaway god's nows what if it was A restaurant and very expensive £3 for small chips stick with jade garden

My wife posted a review last Saturday. Particularly the fact that the carpet near where we were sat was full of flaked plaster which had been there for a long time. You replied that you don't vac while guests are dining and that you had hoovered when you opened at 4 p.m. This patch of carpet had not been hoovered for weeks!

This place is disgusting. 3 of us dined tonight at 8 p.m. Friday evening, a table of 2 people and a table of 3 plus us which made it 8 dining. By 9 p.m. there were 3 of us left. When we arrived we were shown to a window table. The carpet was filthy. Full of flaked plaster. Why wasn't it hoovered up? We ordered drinks which included 2 bottles of Tiger lager as the draught lagers weren't working! 2 bottles arrived and we had to ask for 2 glasses. Prawn crackers and ok sauce. No spoon. The best of the food was the soup. We ordered a platter of spring rolls etc. It arrived and the soup.bowls hadn't been cleared. The main courses were disappointing. I ordered king prawns in ok sauce, I received chicken in ok sauce. We were never asked if our food was ok. One of our party wanted dessert. They don't do them,.not even ice cream. The price is £3 extra on Fridays and Saturdays. What a cheek. The carpets need replacing. The whole place needs revamping. It was stale. Not impressed.

After a very long time a group of us deicide to give this play a go again. As we expected it's not changed much and nor has the food. Starters where great however everything else food wise went down hill from that point. Very bland very small plates not much taste and meats tough. Service was good and friendly and if food was much better this place would be back to its former self. It's cheap and cheerful but plenty of other places to try.

Ordered on uber eats vermicelli was absolutely stunning prawn toast the best I have had special mixed was wow portions are brilliant prices are fair and everything came piping hot! Thanks guys

Honestly, the best all you can eat Chinese, This all you can eat isn't where there is a buffet. You order it off a menu and cook fresh. Each dish I had was delicious! When you first go in, you don't think much of it as it's not very modern, but honestly, staff are great, and food is amazing.

Food was ok, nothing too special

I ordered, via Uber eats, sweet and sour chicken and chicken and sweetcorn soup . It was delicious and hot and arrived on time . 🙂

Ok so firstly the food tastes great I can’t complain about that it’s delicious however never get the dumplings the prawn one had what I thought was a strand of hair inside but no it was blue plastic and then the smaller dumplings were a bit too pink basically just a meatball in dough. It was extremely off putting and quite frankly made me feel ill. Only good thing about this place is the meals. DON’T GET THE DUMPLINGS !!!

Environment needs some work but service is brilliant with great food

We went as a foursome last night, service was very friendly, soup was lovely and hot, starter platter was a nice mix and very tasty. We enjoyed the starters so much we didn't need a main course, however a little more choice on the starters perhaps some dumplings or wantons, would be appreciated just add to the variety but overall what we did have was very tasty.

This place is under rated, always empty but the food is very good... been several times and it's always good 👍

Was really nice. First time I've been and will definitely be going again. I like that it's on smaller plates and it's cooked to order.

The food is tasty and very reasonably priced, best prawn toast I have had in a long time. It was just not hot enough. The restaurants decor is a little tired and could do with a refresh, especially the stair carpet. But overall great value for money.

Five years since our first/last visit, we returned here. The food tasted fine, and the portion sizes were just right. However, the temperature was barely enough, as if there was either a long distance twixt kitchen and our table.

I got a delivery by Uber, can’t fault the driver she was lovely but the food was diabolical, I couldn’t even eat it what an absolute joke salt and pepper box had just chips in it such a joke look at the salt and pepper chicken balls burnt to a crisp. I will never order from here again oh I wouldn’t recommend any dish

Went this afternoon and we were the only in at 1st.2 more groups came in whilst we were eating. The food was hot,tasty and fresh. The service was good as always,but with only us being in it should be..😁

Ordered on Deliveroo. Order put in at 8.58pm and app said delivery at 9.20pm. At 10am was told food be here in 10-15min. It was 10.35pm when food came. Curry sauce no flavour and thin, vegetable rice also lacking Flavour. I don't usually complain but it was mediocre and staff ride on phone e.g. speaking to others when on phone to them and being fobbed off. Disappointed 😞

What a lovely restaurant! We enjoyed the all you can eat ‘buffet’ on a quiet Wednesday evening. Every dish was delicious, the service was faultless, and the portions were filling without overfacing us. The mixed platter starters were a particular highlight. If we ever find ourselves in Ashton-under-Lyne again, we’ll go straight back.

Just read very similar reviews to what I've experienced which makes me think this isn't unusual. My order was meant to arrive 18:40-19:00, so I call up at around 19:00 to ask for an update and was told 10 minutes. I ring again at 19:20 after receiving nothing, and get told 10 minutes again. I ring up at 19:30 and they hang up both times. The driver arrives at around 19:40 and apologises, as he had explained that he couldn't make it in 10 minutes originally but the woman on the phone decided to give me a false time anyway. Very unprofessional. No prawn crackers for a decent sized order too just to top it off! Will not be ordering again!

Ordered last night. Salt and pepper chips came almost stale like they’d been reheated with 0 salt and pepper, just a few onions. May as well have ordered normal chips. Chow mein wasn’t as wet as it should be and the black bean sauce was very bland. Disappointed is an understatement.

This is my go to for chinese food, and rarely go to other places. For restaurant quality food it is only a little more expensive than most takeaways. Portions are a little smaller than other places but definitely worth it for better quality food. Highly reccomend! 👌

This place is shocking - service was rushed. Food wasn't up to standards. When we asked to take our food home, they said no, this didn't make sense to us which we expressed to them. So they gave us our Food downstairs and we had some extra spring rolls to put in the box, and when we asked to put the spring rolls in the box, the woman shoved the box to my daughter and said 'do it yourself'. Shocking! Will not be returning.

May look a little tired decor wise but don't judge this book by its cover the food is amazing and very well priced for an all you can eat.

Two portions of salt and pepper chips and dry chicken fried rice. Clearly not what we ordered in the pictures. Lady on the phone just kept hanging up when we tried to explain.

We popped in for a Chinese last night, not my wife's favorite meal ! As we sat down we were presented with Prawn Crackers and dips . For starters I had the mixed starter , and the wife had Duck , and we shared both dishes. We were quite full by then , so just opted for one main dish , Garlic and Chilli Beef , with Yung Chow fried rice . Every dish was delicious, and even the wife enjoyed it all ! We had 4 Strongbow's too, and was very please with the bill , which was only £50 ! I gave them 60 . The restaurant wasn't that busy , but the kitchen was, with deliveries flying out the door ! Highly recommended !

The place was pretty much empty and they had tables that were filthy tonight literally a mess food all over the floor etc, then has given everyone a bad stomach would not even rate it one star

Could do with a Tin or 2 of Dulux splashed about a bit but can't knock the food it was very nice and the young girl who works there is friendly .

If I could give a zero I would, absolutely disgusting food we ordered the salt and pepper box. It arrived 1.5 hours late not even salt and pepper just deep fried chicken and a box full of rubbery chips and cold!!!!! Customer Service shocking!!!! Avoid like the plague it cost me £30 what a rip off I wouldn't feed It to my dog needs shutting down

One star is too generous! Ordered food and when it did not arrive was told it was 10 minutes away. 45 minutes later after trying to call multiple times, was informed that the food had not left the restaurant. No apology or incentive to return, just informed my order (£40 worth) was too large and it was a busy day. Customer service does not exist. Would not order again.

Delivery drive CAME INTO MY HOUSE, shouting my name, my teenage son was very disturbed by this and the man was asked WHAT HE WAS THINKING? he saw no issue and just left the food and ran away, food was incorrect and rock hard, not really ever had an issue but will now never return as I can't trust it

I've been ordering from here for a few years now, currently been waiting two hours for an order to arrive and nobody is answering the phone. Ordered last week and was very very late then as well, but at least they answered the phone last time. Not great, may try somewhere else next time.

Ordered on Uber eats. Spent nearly £80. Over 1 hour delay. No free anything Food cold. Normally have good service from here but not this time

I wish I could give negative stars. Not only was my food delivered in a used pizza box, I was not given the right order quantity that I purchased. The delivery was so disgusting I had to throw it all away. The pizza box was torn and held together with duck tape. Disgusting🤮🤮🤮. Save yourself and skip this place.

*Update, See below original review* The Jade Garden has it all! My first visit last night and i wasn't disappointed. Amazing food, a huge menu to choose from and i enjoyed every dish. The staff were as equally amazing and I'll be sure to let friends know about this hidden gem. Many thanks for an unforgettable dining experience. This was my review 4 years ago, oh my have standards slipped. We ordered through Justeat and after waiting more than an hour we phoned to ask where the food was? Food turned up 10 mins after the call and not only was it cold the spring rolls were frozen! Phoned the restaurant and was told to get in touch with justeat. We microwaved the food but I'm sorry to say it was totally unedible. Never been so disappointed in what was a great restaurant at one point to the cold frozen slop they throw through the door to customers. Absolutely disgusting and out of pocket upto press. Very tasty food and good potion size

Lovely food that is all you can eat. You order what you want and it comes to your table. They bring enough food for how many people are in the party. Once you start mains you can't go back to starters. For those that use a wheelchair the restaurant is upstairs with steps to the entrance.

It's OK not the best but not the worst very average

The worst meal I ever had. Me and my partner had to order from another restaurant after it was that bad . Ribs were tasteless and they were like rubber . The duck was over cooked , smelt funny and the sauce was like gloop . Rice was a very odd colour , and it smelt and tasted awful !! I wouldn’t even give it a star .

Ordered the food online at 7:30PM and it arrived 9:10PM. I called at 8:35 because the app said it had been delivered but it hadn’t and I was told it would be another 10 - 15 mins because the traffic was bad??? When the food arrived it was rancid- completely revolting in smell like the meat was several days or weeks already rotting. The chips were like sticks of wood and almost impossible to cut or bite into a chainsaw would have struggled. I would never order from Jade Garden in Ashton Under Lyne ever again and I would’t recommend it at all to any body. KEEP AWAY

Ordered food at 8 still hadn’t received by 9. Rang up to question how much longer food would be, to be assured it was five to ten minutes away. After twenty minutes I rang again to be told they didn’t have an order from us and it was someone with a similar postcode they then asked what app we had used. Was then told they hadn’t worked with all eats for two years. Although I have a previous order from last year through the same app. Woman said she couldn’t do anything and I would need to contact all eats for a refund. Contacted all eats for a refund for them to confirm they do still work with them but sometimes they don’t turn off the orders machine when they aren’t accepting orders from this app. Had to wait for all eats to contact the takeaway to confirm the order hadn’t been completed and they could refund the money as Jade garden had accepted the order there end despite lying to me telling me they don’t take orders. Ended up with no food and waiting days for a refund after being lied to twice. Wouldn’t advise ordering from here if you actually intend on eating as it’s hit or miss whether they will actually deliver your food and when you speak to them you won’t get any straight answers.

Food bland, not fresh. Soup and starters okay. Veg platter was very dry. Fried rice - this was a small plate of rice with choice of flavour plonked on top. This is not fried rice. Atmosphere awful. Family friendly, great, but the rest of the customers do not want to hear ‘baby shark’, ‘peppa pig’ at top volume, with the rest of the party’s conversation talking over it. No consideration for any other customers. 8.00 pm on a Sunday, free parking, and the place is virtually empty. Hygiene rating at 3. External building needs a lot of attention, trees growing out of gutters. Inside building needs a spruce up too. Seems to be a lack of pride from the owners. Appreciate you get what you pay for, even so, for two people with drinks over £50, is not cheap and not an excuse. Won’t be rushing back.

Took the order more than an hour before closing and never delivered. Jokes. Avoid them like the plague and you won't be disappointed.

First look doesn’t look great just needs a bit of panting doing Soon as we walked in we was greeted to go upstairs We got sat down and given a menu The food we ordered was top notch absolutely gorgeous there is a wait but it’s fresh so that’s expected ! Soup wasn’t very good but everything else was gorgeous , staff are very friendly too , Nothing to complain about was lovely Only issue is no desserts included Parking facilities is great too

Possibly the worst Chinese I have ever eaten, spring rolls were deep fried mush salt and pepper chicken wings were dry and doused in grease absolutely vile! We explained this and asked to pay for the starters only to which we was charged £31! Bearing in mind this was for two starters and all you can eat starters, mains desserts and sides would have costed us £39.00... I would advise everybody not to eat here what a waste of money and time! Absolutely ruined our Friday night. What makes things worse is it was a quiet evening and they did not have to rush around, we waited almost half an hour for the "all you can eat buffet" starters and there is a two hour time limit.

I ordered from here for the first time today and I must say stay away from the sweet and sour sauce it tastes like its got washing up liquid in it. I called up to let them know but they were addiment it didn't taste as I described it. Anyway I'm going to call environmental health tomorrow and let them take it away and do tests with it.

Changed hands 3 weeks ago, it is now the worst food ever! we ordered vegetarian hot and sour soup, it had prawns and chicken in and it wasn't hot and sour it was just very peppery. The main course had a thin tasteless sauce that was supposed to be sweet chilli and it had a black hair in it so I couldn't eat it anyway, the prawn crackers were stale and were so greasy I could taste them all night. The (crispy)!!! duck rolls were so soggy they were inedible. when we phoned to complain we were told to take it back, they couldn't refund they would give us another meal, err I don't think so. Also if we could take it back we wouldn't have paid for delivery in the first instance. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ELSEWHERE

WOW What a pleasant surprise. We, went to Jade Garden last night, the first time since lock down. We opted for the buffet and ordered quite a few starters as, we prefer these usually. When they arrived, they were full portions rather than small tasters and were really tasty and authentic. We decided to share a main, and ordered the fillet steak in green pepper and black bean sauce. This does incurr a £4.00 surcharge on the £18.00 buffet price, but was worth every penny. It was actual fillet steak and was far superior to any 'fillet' we've had in China Town Manchester. Apparently the restaurant has changed hands in 2021and if you enjoy quality, Chinese food, I can highly recommend it

Food was lovely but my husband ordered from the buffet menu and asked to take left over curry home and was told no it has to be binned as it was from the buffet. What kind of nonsense is that he has still paid for it and wasn't able to take his left overs home Joke

Went Sunday food was lovely nice warm room and staff very friendly and attentive but not to much will definitely be going again under new management x

Unable to leave half a star but I would if I could. Food was over an hour later than they promised for the 3rd time, arrived raw, I’m not a fan of people that over exaggerate but this food was literally raw, the chips were white and snapped like raw carrot. The spring rolls still had ice in them, after speaking with their staff they said it was because it was late so that why it was cold again, after seeing the raw food they said it was and said “ well what am I supposed to do about that” JUST AVOIDE AT ALL COSTS!

Last visited here 3 years ago and enjoyed the food and atmosphere but unfortunately my partner finds all U can eat places a bit overwhelming. Convinced her to give it another try recently and things have changed. Reception needs revamping, tired and worn-out the same goes for the restaurant. Annoyingly there was a frequent loud electronic big Ben chimes door bell that was distracting us.Very quiet week days at one point we were the only ones in. Starters and dishes were all warm and tasty but not enough to share so order individually. I didn't like the pork but the shredded duck, beef, chicken and king prawn were fine. Two all U can eat meals, no deserts, 3½ pints of Cobra came to just over £50. Friendly, prompt service but wouldn't recommend for a romantic dinner for two.

A lovely place with great staff and amazing food

Would not recommend this place. Had vegetable noodles which wad tasteless chicken lemon again tasteless the chicken was tougher then the soul on my shoe.all very small portions which would've been okay if the food was decent but it wasn't.was worried to leave anything because on the menu it says waste food and you will be charged full price for what that meal cost. So as you can imagine eating that chicken I felt sick. Had salt amd pepper prawns to start with then salt and pepper mushrooms all that was tasteless no peper or salt. For £20 a head it's disgusting and a total waste of my hard earned money. Asked for a bottle of water which said £1.80 on the menu. When we got the bill we was charged £3.80 for a bottle of water. Our bill was £47 odd. The place is in need of a good refurbishment. Food needs to be looked at and made to what it says on the menu because everything tasted the same which was tasteless.... staff are lovely but guess they have to be else. Avoid this place .unless you like tough chicken amd tasteless food.

if could put 0 I would-Worst Chinese I’ve ever tasted , the rice was cold and tasteless ,noodles clearly been left for a long time before served and nothing was fresh the chicken was still raw and pink in some parts and sauces tasted like water, every part of the meal was purely tasteless -very dissatisfied.

Absolutely disgusting won't be going again and would never recommend no information on any food allergies. Starters was mediocre when brought mains out 2 dishes was cold and shredded beef had no beef in what's so ever. Had the cheek to try and charge full price as sent food back and said we had wasted food and time. Not a good restaurant at all staff not got a clue .

I was warned not to come here but obviously I came anyway Honestly I was shocked at what I was told compared to our experience. Cant complaine. Yes It could do with a lick of paint but other than that It was clean,tidy and friendly Welcomed by staff showed to our table checked on us to make sure we was happy. Food was really really nice we had mixed starters and we all shared main dishes again lovely food 🤷‍♀️ my glass was never empty the food was also hot so another thumbs up I'm thinking most of the negative reviews on here are take out and maybe that needs improvement but I wouldn't know but I was thoroughly happy with our dinning experience Thank you jade garden we will be back again

Had such a terrible experience at JADE GARDENS to start had a spoon which had someone elses dried food stuck to it the staff was hovering over us standing near our table as soon as we finished drinks there was straight there do u want another my friend ordered a pint of carlsberg and it came with ice!!!!!! The place was greasy and not well maintained wouldn’t recommend not even to the homeless any nicest part of our meal was the prawn crackers !!!!!!!

Cold food Terrible customer service Food not fresh tasting Waste of money

I've ordered here many times and always been happy. But my crispy salt and pepper beef tasted of nothings and 90%sure it was just fried batter not beef. My noodles were over cooked. And sausage was so greasy I couldn't taste anything else. The dumplings were the only saving grace.

We received an order from here with a hair in the food after an hours wait. When we confronted them with this we were met with by a rude and obnoxious staff member who refused to refund our meal even having received photographic proof.

Absolutely disgusting. Ate upstairs in the restraunt and overhead the restaurant manager tell the waitresses to reuse already used prawn crackers and sauce dishes. The waitresses don't even get to keep there tips. We tipped them £5 and it went straight into the till. She complains rudely when paying by card. The same woman dropped food on the floor, picked it up and put it back on the plate. This place needs shutting asap
