However, woke up Friday me and 2 others with diarrhea. Called the restaurant to explain and was hoping to get a refund and leave it at that. Call started by being called a liar and we didn't give the correct address?? And couldn't find the ticket..They apologised for this however have advised they won't be giving a refund as needs to be reported to the food safety authority. Best Chinese take-away we have tried. We drive 25 minutes to get here because the food is very high quality and it is worth the extra effort. Yes, there are cheaper places, but, generally speaking, you get what you pay for. There is another good reason for making the journey to East Cowes: it is also a good excuse to visit the posh supermarket over the road!

Friendly, Fast and Tasty! 5 stars Ordered 2x crispy shredded beef, roast duck chow mein & Singapore noodles whilst waiting for the red funnel ferry. Ideal. Soft drinks available. Rio, Dr Pepper etc… Lady at reception was super friendly and helpful. All very efficient. Very clean inside and gives you confidence in the food you’re about to order. Food tasted authentic & fresh. Would recommend.

Got some noodles after a rubbish day at work. They were soooo greasy and salty. Couldn't finish them.

One of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had. Every dish was lonely and fresh, not too greasy etc. My only disappointment was we spent £84 on Chinese and didn’t get any free prawn crackers. We did buy some for £3.80 in the end.

Generally very tasty but my vegetarian meal had couple of small pieces of chicken at the bottom of the container and of course that's unexceptable Very off putting.

We are regulars of Jade Garden as are most our friends and family in the area. It's a locally loved takeaway and even my family who moved away look forward to a takeaway when visiting! Loved so much it survived Red Funnel trying to tear it down as a carpark! I rarely have a bad meal from here and the staff will also cater to your tastes if you want a dish spicier or less spicy too which is great. Everything is cooked fresh and is delicious. Delivery is quick usually only thing that could make it better would be online ordering and perhaps a cheaper option for the basic rice as it's a little annoying to pay quite a bit extra for rice with a meal. Not uncommon though with Chinese takeaways so not gonna mark it down for that.

We are regulars at Jade Garden and very appealed by the service. We ordered our food was told an it would be 30mins -60 minutes. 120 mins still no sign of our food. We had to chase, no phone call to be told of a delay!! We were then notified it wasn’t going to arrive for another 45mins!! I think it’s very disappointing not to notified of this very long delay - customer service was shocking!! It was only a small order - what went wrong!

We ordered from the Jade Garden whilst we were staying in East Cowes. The food was delivered really quickly, was piping hot and absolutely delicious. It was the best chinese takeaway we've had in a very long time. Will definitely order from them again if we're in the area. Just a shame they don't deliver to Berkshire!

I was so happy with the quality of the food and the service was brilliant, also the staff are so friendly we had are meal delivered and they said it would be about a hour but it arrived in under 40 minutes

Menu has changed . Ribs were gristly. Chicken balls were tasteless . Sorry but it used to be much better .

A lovely takeaway situated in East Cowes. Ordered by phone & then collected 15 minutes later. Staff were really friendly both on the phone & in the shop. Food was lovely.

I have visited on several occasions last year Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is ready quickly Can’t fault the food it is one of the best Chinese takeaways on the island I would definitely recommend!

Authentic HK sweet & sour pork, perhaps the best in Europe! ;) So glad to discover this germ, while waiting for the ferry, very efficient, save time to have dinner as still 2 hours to go home...Thank you so much, Jade garden, highly recommend! P.S. use asian vinegar instead of UK one will taste even better

Always been great food but ordering system only by phone and in person, you can never get through to place order at weekends and have better way to spend my time so have been using Newport Chinese who deliver to East Cowes who have an app. Quality good and portion sizes are a little bigger so this balances the extra 1.50 delivery charge, sure others will cotton on within time. Perhaps time for Jade Garden to join the digital age of 2021

Entertainment whilst we were waiting with the owners arguing in Mandarin Chinese while the guy was cooking our dinner. Didn't understand a word and no idea what they were arguing about but the food was still OK !

Jade garden is one of the better Chinese takeaways on the island and pretty much always a decent meal. Only had one or two average meals in the many years I have used it. Friendly staff, quick service and much loved by the locals.

Used this chinese while holidaying for the past few years, today it was the best we've had! Ordered a really big order, which only took 20 minutes, food was piping hot and tasted amazing

It was edible but pretty mediocre. The duck hoisin wraps were ok but our impression was that the rest was not freshly prepared. The dog seemed quite happy with the left over spare ribs that none of us wanted.

As a family we have been eating here for years. Without doubt the best Chinses takeaway on the island. Well made fantastic cuisine even for the fussy eaters in the family, so a good all rounder. I recommend the hot mixed meat curry and the salt and pepper chips. Highly recommended for takeaways. Per Ardua 96

Average at best! Missed items off a £60 order! No complimentary prawn crackers which is standard at our local Chinese. Only visiting friends so the chance we use again is slim. Probably should of got an Indian!

Always quick, always tasty. Chef more than happy to adjust dishes or recommend based on preference. Will happily add more veg, spice, sauce etc most the time. Eaten here a couple of times a month for many years and never had my order wrong or below expectations. I recommend 42 - a spicy but dry noodles with pretty much every meat they offer with lots of veg. Accompanied by their tasty pancake rolls.

Live the food and service is great

Everyone says that their local Chinese takeaway is "the best on the island", I've not had food from all of the places, so I'm not going to do that. However, what puts jade garden above all of the other take aways that I've had is that it's not rediculously salty and I don't need to get up in the middle of the night and drink pints of water. The food is fantastic and the delivery time is always prompt

My husband and I have used Jade Garden since we moved to East Cowes in 2009. We can’t fault it. The food is delivered quickly, is piping hot, tasty and the staff are friendly and professional. We love the hot and spicy chips!!

Weve ordered a few times from Jade Garden, for delivery or sometimes we pick up from the place itself,The past 2 times though we've felt abit dodgy after.The 1st time we had the chicken fried rice and I had the chicken balls, it wasnt until i started feeling abit full i was picking at my food and tearing it apart when i noticed it wasnt cooked fully..and then spent most of the night feeling sick... my partner the same.Then we ordered tonight and the delivery service was quick..but we always have a problem with getting through to them.We thought the first incident may of been a one off so this time I went for the chicken chow mein, didnt taste right at all & currently suffering with a poorly stomach. Such a shame when it used to be so nice :(

Visiting East Cowes we fancied a Chinese takeaway and so gave Jade Garden a ring. The lady on the phone was really helpful and efficient giving advice on portion sizes. The food was delicious and really hot, delivered by a friendly chap who called to say he was on his way so that I could meet him at the Marina. I had the King Prawn with Cashew Nuts and Prawn Toast, they were both incredibly tasty and fresh. Highly recommended!

Had a simple takeaway for one - food was hot fresh and delicious. The Cantonese style pancake rolls were especially tasty!! Would definitely recommend and will visit again. Sadly I live too far away for their delivery service.

I recently stayed for a week on the Isle of Wight with my family. We hired a house along the front and although there was a perfectly adequate kitchen, we decided to treat ourselves to take-aways most evenings (we were on holiday after all!). Jade Garden was literally just round the corner from the house we stayed in, and we ordered from them on our second night. I ordered the Bean Curd in Black Bean Sauce and Egg Fried Rice. I thought it was very reasonably priced and the portions were fairly large. The food itself was very nice and the staff in the shop were friendly and polite. If you are staying in East Cowes, I would recommend Jade Garden if you fancy Chinese food.

Expensive for what it was. Watery tasteless soup, tasteless meat, satay did not taste of peanuts. Surfeit of bamboo shoots. Spring rolls just ordinary. The only good thing to say is the prawn crackers were OK.

Do not order a take away here as it is the worst food I have ever tasted. Ordered appetiser mixed starter for 2 cost £9 for that and prawn toast was overcooked and dry, wantons were greasy and Cantonese pancakes (which looked like spring rolls were also overcooked and greasy. The food is inedible. We then tried our main of deep fried chicken with garlic which consisted of tiny balls of dried up chicken ..(in fact that tasted processed) in recooked greasy batter and the chips tasted like they had been cooked 2 days ago...we could not eat any of this disgusting food and threw it in the bin. I phoned the shop immediately and after being put on hold a second time after answering whilst she served people in the shop I proceeded to tell her how bad it was and demanded a refund. She told me that the manager did not speak English so I couldn't speak to him and told me it wasn't her fault she didn't cook it. Then she started speaking to a bloke who said if we get food back you can have money back so I asked who he was and she said the driver....told her it's not up to him and I am certainly not rummaging in my bin for the food as I had put on to plates and put sauce on and I wasn't scooping that out. They refused to refund and that had just cost me £18.60 for slops I would not serve to a dog and we were still hungry. Disgusting attitude and disgusting food....if you can call it that. We are not youngsters trying to pull a fast one but are senior citizens who after having work done in our kitchen thought we would order a take away as a treat...big mistake. Would not go near it with a barge pole. Not even worthy of 1star.

Bland lukewarm food won't be using again.

Overcooked prawns, very bland. We chose 5 different dishes, the only dish we liked was Thai style prawns but even then the prawns were overcooked. The remaining dishes were a disappointment because they all lacked flavour. Chicken cooked beautifully but just too bland. All in all, not that good.

Consistently good grub in my opinion.

We ordered a family dinner, working out the price according to the menu. After waiting for delivery we didn't get our full order, we phoned to find out about the rest of the order, only to be told it had been left off the original order despite them double checking, and they would have to put it as a new order and told us as it wasn't on the original order we would have to pay. Once waiting for the rest of the order to arrive, the delivery guy then wasn't sure what he was doing and had to phone to check, we were also charged more than what they had told us the cost would be on the phone, and the complete cost was about £10 more than what was listed on the menu. We recieved no apology, or anything considering there mess up ruined our dinner. The staff were very unprofessional and un-apologetic. Completely disgusting and over expensive service.

We have Walked past the Chinese every time we have stayed in East Cowes and always said we must try it one night. This time we actually tried it and all I can say is we wish we would have tried it sooner. We had it delivered to the near by camp site which was really easy they meet you in the car park. Food was still really warm which is unlike some take aways when you have a delivery. Food was lovely bbq honey ribs were excellent had three different mains. We read some reviews before we ordered and nearly didn’t go with the chicken dish after what we read however it was very nice so we were glad we tried it. Reasonably price. Will be defiantly ordering again when we visit next time.

Been eating from here for a number of years then stopped for a while (another story) Needed a quick meal one night last week so came her. With the assistance of the nice lady on the counter we had the duck with pancakes and I had the special mixed meat curry that was the best I have ever had, very spicy hot as requested. We also had ribs & chicken in batter, also very nice.

A brilliant little take away with a large variety of dishes.

This is a good Chinese take away close to the Red Funnel ferry terminal. Good portion sizes and quality. Only downside is their use of processed chicken which is soggy and almost uncooked low grade taste. As long as you avoid chicken dishes you should have a great experience.
