The starters were inedible, the mains awful. To add insult to injury they only take cash. Far too expensive!

Repas bons, beaucoup de choix et moyens de créer son plat à cuisiner au Hot Pot. Mais personnel désagréable, presse, qui n'explique pas, s'agace, semble préférer la clientèle qui connaît déjà les plats et le fonctionnement, les clients parlant Chinois sont vraiment mieux traités... On aurait pu passer un super moment, mais bon, on a prefere se dépêcher et partir. Dommage c'était bon.

Staffs were rude and intimidating. Was shouted when asked for an official receipt. The food was decent but the attitude of the staff spoils it all. Absolutely disappointing.

Comimos en casa de Jade ya que estaba cerca de u hotel. Fue prácticamente vacío pero comimos allí de todos modos. Aunque la comida era normal, me pareció que mi experiencia fue destrozado antipático rudos y miembros del personal. Dos veces me ignoraron cuando los pedidos de bebidas fueron tomadas como el hombre (el dueño quizás) pidió a los 3 hombres en la mesa si les apetece bebidas y esto volvió la segunda vez. Había muy pocas interacciones entre el personal y nuestro grupo y ninguno de los cuales puede ser descrito como acogedor o amable.

Hace poco fuimos a la casa de Jade para un almuerzo familiar en un domingo. El restaurante no estaba lleno y estábamos un poco preocupados. Sin embargo esa preocupación pronto desapareció cuando la comida llegamos - era delicioso. Yo soy muy exigente con la comida china como me encanta y todos los alimentos básicos estaban aquí. Teníamos cangrejo y el maíz sopa que era muy sabroso y no como medusas en todos (que es muy a menudo el caso en otros lugares). La sal y la pimienta costillas se funden en la boca y el pollo ahumado fue devorado por la mesa. El pato crujiente era cripsy pero no excesivamente seco que siempre es un delicado equilibrio. Pedí el cerdo de Sichuan, que era delicioso (si un poco pesado en las hortalizas).El servicio fue atento pero el restaurante es un poco escaso en atmósfera, pero como había un gran grupo de nosotros, esto no nos afectó.No estoy segura de por qué este restaurante era tan vacío como era, pero por el momento que nos fuimos, había varios más clientes que todo parecía ser asiduos - sin duda volveremos y espero que se convierten en asiduos nosotros!

Mi familia y yo hemos estado yendo aquí por muchos años a través de varios unos días más y tener que pasar tiempo en el sudeste asiático, fue maravilloso volver y encontrar que la última gestión son maravillosos y la comida es muy sabrosa comida cantonesa. No aceitosa y aburrido como muchos restaurantes chinos.

Nos dieron una comida para llevar de personal para el almuerzo ya que la mayoría de nosotros termina en trabajo hoy, había 10 personas. Una persona me pareció elástico azul en su plato y el otro encontramos una antigua herrumbre almacenar cosas suyos, como te puedes imaginar no fue una experiencia agradable y no había nadie cómodo con la comida tras los objetos se encontraron.Yo no recomendaría este restaurante como encontrar un objeto que puede ser explicado y ser un accidente pero dos objetos en una comida es inaceptable.

Hoy he puesto una considerable cantidad de comida de negocios por teléfono con Jade Cottage en Hendon para la recogida.Mi compañero y yo recoge la comida y nos la trajo a nuestra oficina. Mientras estábamos comiendo mis colegas encontramos una banda elástica y un baño en la comida. (Ver imagen adjunta)me llamado Jade Cottage y explicó lo ocurrido a la mujer en el teléfono y pidió disculpas. Pedí que tienen el dinero reembolsado a nosotros. habló a su gerente y dijo que son incapaces de hacer eso. La mujer me hablaba por teléfono y me colgó.Pésimo servicio Sin duda no va a comer o pedir comida desde allí de nuevo!

La comida era inaceptable con metal y plástico material objetos encontrados. Es muy desagradable en el pensamiento de que había artículos extranjeros en la comida. dudo que la higiene de este negocio. No se lo recomendaría a todos. Un informe con el entorno jurídico de salud ha sido presentadas. Cuando nos quejamos no había ninguna compensación por la mala calidad de la comida.

The place was not busy as we arrived for supper, and the ambience was lacking. It was not enhanced by an annoying, constantly flashing set of lights, announcing to passers-by (very few) that Christmas was approaching.The food was alright and fair value. Six of us went on a cold Saturday night at 8.00, having booked a table. It was quite empty, very quiet (on our arrival, no background music) and very cold. Needed to keep my coat on. We had a round table - great so we could all chat with Lazy Susan on the table - we were impressed with that. Unfortunately it didn't work and our table wobbled. The table was fixed but the waitress did nothing about our very Lazy Susan except put dishes of food on it which we had to pass round anyway as it never did work! Our crispy duck with pancakes starter was delicious and plentiful. We waited (still feeling cold but at least there was very discreet, acceptable background music) some time for our main courses which unfortunately were not served at the same time. We ordered 3 portions of rice between us which really was more than enough. I ordered Peking Chicken. The description looked delicious. Grilled chicken with vinegar, spring onions and garlic basically. Yum thought I. All portions were generous. Mine looked great and I had a pick at what I assumed were spring onions whilst waiting for the other meals to be served. Oh dear! It was sliced fresh ginger! I HATE ginger. After downing a glass of water, I called over the head waiter. He obviously wasn't happy and told me that all their dishes had ginger. They didn't and the Peking Chicken wasn't described as having it. The other dishes ordered didn't have it! In fairness, he offered me an alternative but we were quite fed up by then and the chicken itself had no ginger taste so I didn't take up his offer. The good thing is that they don't use MSG. The dessert menu was pictures of what looked like bought in desserts so we went home for hot coffee, chocolates and watched recorded Strictly Come Dancing - the best part of the evening! Sorry.

Food was ok. The main issue was the service. The restaurant was deserted and there was only one other couple there. The manager and waitress was staring at us and just watched us eat. Everytime we put our forks down for a second they'd rush over and try to take our plates away. They were rushing us and they made us feel very uncomfortable and we didn't enjoy our dinner at all.

I've come here a few times and have always ordered off the set menu because it is really good value for money. There is a good range of vegetarian food including bean curd and tofu. If you have space left for dessert, try the orange sorbet.

Deep Fried Shredded Smoke Chicken isn't crispy & tasty like it use to be & today the plum sauce for the Crispy Aromatic Duck was so diluted it was translucent and very runny making it drip out of the pancakes & made a big mess! Unfortunately this is probably going to be the last time I order from here. Very disappointed.

Tried won ton soup and chicken and sweetcorn soup. Both were tasty and less gloopy than one might find elsewhere.We followed with half a crispy aromatic duck and lobster with ginger and spring onion. The lobster was very good as was the duck though it might have benefited from less time being deep fried, as then it would have been at least a little moist.Service was good, though they ought to know better to keep down the noise they make on the telephone in dealing with delivery/take-away orders. Overall though, Very Good

We were in Hendon for one night and made the mistake of going into Jade Cottage.It looks nice from the outside but the food was dreadful. Avoid the Szechuan pork particularly. Soggy batter with pork fat inside - inedible.I complained about the hidden 12% service charge and the pork dish but the waiter/manager was not interested. It doesn't even appear on the bill.He also advised that we should order two rice portions for two people. One would have been quite sufficient.He also lurked the entire meal as though watching us.Avoid the place if you can - it's a con!

Visited this restaurant with my partner, only place open. It was empty inside but we were starving so went for it. Shown to our table, I moved my chair to be aside my partner, manager told me to move back in case someone needed the table next to us?? Really? The place was deserted, if someone did walk in would the table next to us be the only option?Starters were poor, order was wrong and met with disdain when told them.Mains were like a poor ready meal.When I paid the manager was hankering after a tip.Don't waste your money, a chicken shop would be finer dining!

I went in last week the starter came out and it was okay then the main came out and the curry was more water then curry. And to top it all off they added a 6 pound services charge to a 40 pound bill and the service was terrible the restaurant was empty so they just stud next to us and watched us eat. Never again.

This restaurant is closed for refurbishment at present. There is a hand written sign on the door! Carry on walking North to the lovely Italian restaurant by the tube station!

My favourite Chinese restaurant! I have never been disappointed by the food or delivery. You pay a little more than most other Chinese restaurants but my gosh it's totally worth it, you pay for what you get! :)

What has happened to our local Chinese? It used to be good (overpriced but good). Change of management the prices are higher, service poor, atmosphere poor, food standard poor, decor poor....basically one to avoid. Mother's day, half restaurant empty and apologies received for poor service due to them being busy!! Only two people serving the whole restaurant and a random poor girl attending every now and then. Waited for 15 minutes to get attention for our bill and another fifteen minutes to receive the bill. I was on the verge of walking out without paying as i couldn't get any attention from the staff for nearly half an our.This place used to be so busy and well run and now it's pittyful to watch. Won't be going there again even if i was offered a free meal for ten!

Staying local we decided to eat here as time was getting on. It was not busy one table of 12. We ordered the Set meal for Two at £19 each. Not very welcoming orders taken no conversation even though we tried to initiate it. No explanation of each dish which was just deposited on the table. The pancakes for the crispy duck were too thick and tasted awful the plum sauce had little to no flavour. On the whole disappointed with the meal. Then to top it all when paying asked if l wanted to leave a tip when 12.5% service charge added to the £53 bill! They don't deserve your business especially when there are so many eating places in this area

I came with a group, there was a variety of dishes and they were served quickly. Service was okay but the location is very good.

I used to really like this place and went back last night for the first time in ages. There seems to have been a change of management and things have changed for the worst. Apart from the fact that food isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be, I was digusted by the sneaky trick the waiter tried to pull on me. There is a 12.5% service charge levied on your bill. If you read the menu you can see this is mentioned on the very last page right at the bottom! When presented with the bill, the waiter cam to my table with the card machine and had the nerve to ask me if I 'wanted to put anything on top'. I was amazed and said that 'isn't there a 12.5% service charge?' RUMBLED. He shrugs his shoulders takes the payment & scuttled off - no more 'how was your meal' etc. and opening the door for us to leave etc.That is worthy of a 1 in my book - bye bye Jade Cottage - you disgraceful rip-off merchants.

I really like the food from this restaurant so much so I tried more than once to have it delivered at my house…little did I know it would become a "mission impossible!"..the first time after waiting for more than an hour and a half I called them asking what happened to my food order, they kept saying that the driver was on his way…yeah probably to china… 'cause it wasn't true..I had to wait for more than 2 hours before the delivery…and when the food finally arrived everything was cold and soggy..I presumed that sometimes it can happen, therefore I gave them a the benefit of doubt two weeks later…same identical story.. this time round I ordered my meal quite early at quarter to seven and at nine o'clock after 2 phone calls I had to cancel the order…no apologies..the excuse they gave was it's christmas time! we are very busy…but if they know they are going to be that busy first of all they shouldn't take orders promising a quick delivery, second of all get an extra cook and an extra driver!!

Ordered for collection, gave me regular egg fried rice instead of a large special fried rice. Naturally not very happy about that

I went to the place after it was recommended by the hotel reception, as it was not very far I decided to check it out. The staff was not interested in taking care of the guest, only after several attempts was I able to finda server to take my food order , I had to wait for about 20 minutes before my order was served and I was shocked that it tasted no where like a Chinese dish. the food was cold and the noodles were undercooked. The manager/ waiters were not interested to listen, I was very disappointed , I paid the bill and went to a restaurant next door to have my food. I would never want to go there again.

Usually we go during the week and have not experienced delays. However, this was a Saturday night and not only was the restaurant fuller than usual, but the adverse weather led to more take-aways than expected.The kitchen was under pressure and found it hard to cope with the result that several tables of diners were expressing dissatisfaction to the servers.Thankfully, our food was excellent. We tried a won ton soup and a chicken & sweetcorn soup, both of which were served hot and tasted excellent. The lobster with ginger and spring onion was excellent too as was the half of crispy aromatic duck which was served hot, crispy and moist (whereas at some places it can be too dried out).Service too seemed under pressure but this was perhaps due to lack of attentiveness as well as having to handle the customers disappointed with delays. There probably should have been more priority given to orders accepted from diners on site.All in all then, we had an experience that was Very Good, but we could see that others might have been less supportive.

Looks like there is new management. I went a few years ago and it was great. This time awful experience with the young waiteress who was miserable and rude. None of waitresses or owners smile. Crispy duck was not crispy at all. Noodles substandard soggy and tasteless. Asked for tap water which,is a right for the customer in the uk, waitress pulled a face andit took ages for it to arrive. As for the bill the prices are extortionate for the average food and poor service.

Ordered takeaway from this restaurant online at 8pm- estimated delivery time was 8.45. At 8.35ish I refreshed the page and the delivery time was still 8.45, so my diabetic little brother injected himself with insulin to counter act the fast acting carbs he was (allegedly) soon going to eat. By 9.30 when the food still hadn't arrived, we'd had to make an alternate dinner as my brother's blood sugars had gone low and he was on the verge of a hypoglycaemic attack. We phoned up and cancelled the order, they only cancelled after a 10 minute conversation and DID NOT APOLOGISE. Awful customer service, awful delivery time.

Ordered takeaway at 8.00pm for delivery confirmed by the restaurant to be delivered at 8.45. At 8.50 I phoned the restaurant and was asked my address and was told it was on the way. At 9.00pm I phoned to ask again and was first told that there was terrible traffic in the area. The phone was passed to someone else and I was told they had only received the order at 8.40 and it would be another 20 minutes. The first person I spoke to started blaming Just Eat for putting the order through late and said that if I cancelled getting a refund was to do with them. Admittedly I shouted. She put the phone down. I phoned Just Eat who confirmed the order was received by the restaurant at 8.00 and phoned the restaurant himself. Their explanation now was that although the order was received at 8.00 they had entered it onto their own computer system at 8.40. I cancelled the order. At 9.30, as I write this, and having eaten pasta, the doorbell rings and it's the delivery man. He apologizes and says the restaurant thought it was a collection and that there was no traffic in the area! Do not order takeaway from this restaurant.

I had really good service here - the food too was good and not greasy. I had a choice of starters the vegetable spring rolls were very tasty as were the chicken satay starters. I had king prawns szechuan style and beef with green peppers and black bean sauce which were both very good. However the best dishes were the vegetarian Singapore noodles and the stir fried vegetables - the pak choi was perfect! The only disappointment was the dessert which was fruit fritters and icecream which I cannot recommend.The decor in the venue is nicer than your average Chinese restaurant and the staff polite and helpful.

Been going here for years and the food is always great portions have become so much smaller that's why we don't go here as much and the service is mostly good but they can be quite rude and slow of late... Bit like the British weather very unpredictable and rather pricey for the small portions you get. Quality of food is great!

The major problem with this place is that they are greedy. Despite their food being pretty tasty, the portion size just don't work. For every single Chinese take away in this area, if you order a box of rice it'll be a full box of rice. You order a dish, it'll be a box full also. However this place just wanted to be different in a bad way. If you order boiled rice, it'll be half of what you'd usually expect, while paying the same, if not more for that rice. If you order a main dish, it'll be half the size of your standard take away box that you 'd pretty much get anywhere else. You have been warned.

Try the BBQ ribs, noodles and spicy beef. Give in to the addictive styrofoam looking crisps. Take away available.

The food was mostly excellent, except the chicken dish (Chicken Cashew Nuts). It was very slimy, a bit tasteless and the chicken itself was like thin slices of sponge. Shame, because everything else was great.

We asked to be moved from our original table as dreadful music was blasting out of an overhead speaker. Service in general was indifferent to say the least. On a quiet evening it was difficult to get the attention of our waiter. During the meal we asked for Sparkling water which was forgotten until we managed to catch his eye and remind him. The food is only average, and I've had much better Chinese. The chicken dish we had was gelatinous - tasted almost processed. Same with the king prawns in a sauce. Grilled dumplings were not great - mashed pork contents rather underdone. However, spare ribs starter in sauce was very good, and the Singapore noodles were just fine. Our bill for 2 with 4 glasses of decent Chilean wine was £69. I worked out that this included 12.5% service which was definitely not stated anywhere on the bill presented to us, and I can't remember seeing it anywhere on the menu. This is naughty, and some people probably add on extra in ignorance of this. When I double checked with the waitress who came with the credit card machine whether service was included, she said she didn't know. Well she jolly well should! This place is not what it was a few years ago.

For Chinese, this was a great place to eat. Service was very good and the meal served quickly and without fuss. Everything was delicious. I have no reservations about recommending this place for dinner.Warning: When going to the restroom, the door opens and there is a high step. I didn't see it and there is no warning about it. I found myself face down. Be careful.

We popped into the Jade Cottage in Hendon, as we fancied a bowl of hot and sour soup for lunch. We discovered a very generous lunch menu, where you could order TWO starters!, one main course plus a choice of rice, for a very good value £6.80 each We had sesame prawns and seaweed as starters, both were very good and shared, plus a bowl of hot and sour vegetarian soup, also good, but needed a bit more heat. That was honestly enough, but that was followed by vegetarian Singapore Noodles and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce and Egg Fried Rice. We could only manage half of these but both were very good. A very nicely appointed restaurant clearly more an evening than lunch time place, but we were pleased to see a Chinese family come in and have lunch, which we always take as a good sign, if those native to the cuisine like eating there. Service was also swift and very pleasant. All in all to be thoroughly recommended.

I ordered some rice dishes for deliver and the boxes were half empty. I called Just East and they were very helpful the restaurant re-delivered bu they didn't do it until 10:30pm when the original order was done at around 8:30pm. I have had the same problem with this restaurant twice and I don't feel like going back to them because they are expensive for what they offer and it all ends up in arguments because you just ask for what you paid. Horrible place!! At the end of the day is just rice !!!! There is no need to be so tight! Other places offer you the same food for less money an almost double their amount!

Happened to find this restaurant by accident, because we were staying in the area and didn't have a list of restaurants to hand. The menu is extensive and portion size and quality very good. We also like the fact that no MSG is added to the dishes. The night we were there (Tuesday February 25th) they were not that busy, so we had a very interesting chat with the waitress about food, travelling and she was good at keeping the service first class. The restaurant is quite large and from what we discovered is very popular with weekend large parties and they was also a steady stream of take away customers, which shows how good the food is. We wish it continued success and will certainly make a point of going back there when in the area.

Distinctly average Chinese food.

It's a relative decent Cantonese Chinese restaurant and it takes credit card, yay! I am not wow-ed by the food but I don't dislike it, neither. To me the most attractive feature of this place is it's just few steps away from the Hide Hotel where we stayed and it was convenient.

While the food is good here the service is very poor. We ordered a Red Wine and it came very cold and when we pointed out that the Red Wine needs to be room temperature we were told it is fro a room and not the fridge but it was from a storeroom with no heating. 2 finger bows arrived for 4 diners and we asked the reason the answer was some people do not use it and only the ribs eaters require it which was strange as we all had ribs. We asked for a dip for the Chicken strips and rudely what sauce you want and brought us sweet and sour sauce. They have a cheek to charge 12.5% service charge which we did not pay. Needs better attitude as we won't be back.

Didn't have a huge meal but what we had was good. Prawn toasties and spare ribs starter (£6.50 & £7.00), fried rice, duck curry & Singapore vermicelli - lovely. Not what I would call cheap but I'd rather pay the extra quid or two for the quality which was excellent. The spare ribs are superb. Friendly staff & the service was perfectly good.

Went to jade cottage last night, I was really looking forward to it because I've heard so many good things about the food! We got there and were seated, and then completely abandoned for half an hour before anybody even took our order!! We were almost about to walk out when the waitress finally came over. We had to wait ages for our starter, which was delicious, but when we finished that the waitress didn't clear our plates from the table for at least 20 minutes! Bearing in mind it was not busy when we went there was absolutely no reason for such slow service! And no apology or anything, in fact they were not even friendly. The only time our waitress was at our table in a timely fashion was when she was collecting our bill! Not impressed! I will not be going back there again.

Very good food, well presented, service wasnt the fastest, but I wasnt in a rush! Would eat here again.

This small restaurant was just a short walk from my hotel so I met my two kids and we walked in without booking . Staff were friendly and we had a table after a couple of minutes wait . Food that other guests were eating looked very good . We chose of a menu that was £11 a head for two starters and a main served with rice . Food was hot and very tasty and very nicely presented.The service was slow so don't go if you are rushing but we were offered a complimentary drink between the starter and main course so that showed the staff realised things were running a bit behind . This was very tasty food at a very good price .

The food was excellent, perhaps portions a little small, but enough. The service was also excellent, very polite and attentive, and extremely fast. Highly recommended and, from what I saw of the area, a better choice to other restaurants near by.

We have been going to Jade Cottage for many many years! It really had deteriorated, so much so that we stopped going.The restaurant was taken over around 18 months ago and I really feel the food is excellent. The decor is pretty enough and the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is a little subdued but it also makes a really pleasant change to go somewhere with a number of people and actually hear what everyone else is saying at your table.I would definitely recommend Jade Cottage and we will definitely go back!

Food was ok. However waited over an hour for main course, was not even that busy which only consisted of 2 vegetable dishes, fried rice and steamed meat. Not a happy customer

Basically it was the best sweet and sour king praw I ever had. 10 out of 10.

Had a take away from here last night. Have eaten from here for a while. Really really pleased! Def recommend this restaurant. Staff are always polite and food is always yummy!!
