Hee's Chinese Restaurant in Barnet

The chef had finally retired and is selling the restaurant. However Hee's Take Away is still open across the road. That runs as a separate business under the brand. Farewell to the restaurant.

The restaurant is a little tired so really average. Food was OK as well as the service and price but not great.

Restaurant very nice but take away restaurant awful, very rude , do not use, call the restaurant directly.

Pedimos comida para llevar y tardamos una hora y media. Cuando llamamos a preguntar lo que estaba ocurriendo fueron muy groseros y dijo que están muy ocupados. Se negaron a darnos un descuento y la señora colgar! Nunca pedir otra vez. Muy, muy decepcionados

Mi novia y yo pedimos una comida para llevar. Llegamos tarde, así que mi novia salía a recogerla. La gestión le dijo que había 'ni idea de dónde estaba nuestra comida'. Me negué a creer que estaba ofreciendo ni disculpa, explicación o solución, así que decidimos ir. No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que yo estaba discutiendo con el hombre descortés que he conocido. Una selección de observaciones para ti, no te dicen que 30 minutos' (no), 'I han traído su comida y no está lista (esperar) y no sé cuando será', 'la cocina son sólo los seres humanos', y mi favorito 'esperar o I cancelar'. Cancelamos. No te molestes.

Uno de los peores restaurantes que he estado en el gerente era terriblemente grosero tan pronto como entré en él empezaron a gritar como si vuelvo a rob el lugar. No malgastes tu tiempo y dinero muy lo imposible personal.Muy odioso nunca volveré

Mi esposa y yo hace poco tuvimos una comida para llevar la Hees en Mill Hill. Pedimos la fiesta cantonesa para 2 a 22 libras. Cuando llegamos a casa, nos encontramos con que no habían incluyen uno de los platos, (vegetales mixtos). En probar los platos nos encontramos muy poco carne en la carne asada y la carne en la carne y ostras en salsa de cerdo hecho! Las costillas eran pequeñas y sin sabor y todos los contenedores estaban medio lleno excepto las algas y arroz crujiente. Hace unos meses que tuvimos algo de comida desde aquí que no estuvo genial, pero decidí darle otra oportunidad, si estás buscando algo de comida china la calidad mantengais alejados de este lugar.

Plentiful and tasty Chinese offerings..crisp duck excels baked crab with the ginger is very tasty....top notch shredded beef....surroundings a little dated same owners for years reasonable price for mill hill ...guess once this goes we will get another buffet in its really place.....so few Chinese sit down restaurant in the suburbs now

Situated in the centre of the MIll Hill Broadway. Parking is somewhat difficult, but the are spaces in the surrounding streets if you are prepared for a 3 min. walk. Very friendly staff, especially to young children. A large menu available with all the usual Chinese specialities. Well cooked delicious large portions, nicely presented. Reasonably priced fare and drinks, with a 20% reduction for mid week dining. Well worth a visit Cannesdid ...... surfingsyd

We had a meal in the Mill Hill branch, which had a average to low atmosphere/ambiance, however exceptionally good vegetarian food. Overall this is a lovely restaurant and the range of dishes is impressive.Pros:1. Large range of food. Especially vegetarian options. Despite the large menu, it is worth noting that alternative Chinese restaurants offer a larger range of 'vegetarian mock meat' dishes (soya) than this restaurant.2. Well priced.* The restaurant is well priced, and much cheaper than "The Good Earth Chinese restaurant" which is walking distance away.* The restaurant offers 15% discount for early diners & we got a 20% discount during the world cup period in June - possibly due to low numbers as many people were watching football.Cons:1. The restaurant isn't decorated as well as it could be. The atmosphere is dated and needs modernisation. However it is much cheaper than many of the better presented restaurants - so it is possibly not trying to compete with alternative restaurants.2. Having been a regular customer for many years my last visit was quite a shock. We always get a warm greeting from the manager and the staff are generally ok.But it all statyed going wrong as soon as the first dush arrived. The chicken satay was not cooked properly, the chicken was pink inside. We sent it back but pretty much got the same back so we did not eat it. The cucumber and spring onion for the crispy duck were well past their sell date. Quite brown and curly.The chicken in the sweet and sour chicken was inedible and so was the beef in the crispy beef.Truly an abysmal experience. We will not be returning

This is consistently decent food. Slightly greasy noodles and rice but perfectly edible and other vegetarian dishes such as the seaweed are well done. If you eat early there's a 15% discount so even better!

Have been to Hee's many times, the restaurant offers good quality Chinese at reasonable prices. Much better value than the Good Earth around the corner and you can usually get a table when you turn up.

Hee's has been in Mill Hill for something like 30 years. I was there at the opening party and have been going on and off ever since. I travelled a lot around S.E.Asia so I reckon I know a little about the various types of Chinese food. I also brought a party of Thais and Chinese there many years ago and they all reckoned the Chef was one of the best they had experienced. This is such a friendly restaurant, and not because my wife and I are regulars. You can see the way they treat all their guests. Of course you can get what we all call typical Brit-Chinese food, but when you really investigate the menu, there are real gems that make the visit worthwhile. If your taste runs to hot, I would suggest the Spicy Green Bean Noodle, which I haven't found on other menus. The Staff are there to help and advise if you're not familiar with the food on offer, and they will happily adjust it according to your taste. I happen to be diabetic so they know not to put MSG in my food. I do not recommend take-away, but not because of the standard of the food. I just would not recommend take-away from any Chinese or Indian restaurant because not only does it detract from the dining experience, but I am convinced the food loses its flavour as soon as it leaves the doors of the restaurant. It's just my thing. As well as the regular menu, there are seperate extensive Seafood and Vegetarian Menus. I love the vegetarian selections and my wife adores the scallops and green beans in garlic. More often than not, our bill is less than £40 for two which is incredible value when you compare it to The Good Earth nearby which i have reported on, where I found the food quite poor and over-expensive with very unfriendly staff. I would rate The Good Earth against the best that Chinatown has to offer and is far and away the best suburban Chinese restaurant I have eaten in. I would even say it beats many Hong Kong establishments. Taiwan is another matter because I would maintain you really find the very best Chinese cuisine of all types on the Island. Go and try Hee's and enjoy wonderful food with very friendly service. You will not regret it.
