Jackson's Fisheries Bridlington in East Riding of Yorkshire

Bought three regular fish today from this fish shop. One poor fish would have been bad enough but all three were poor. They were thin with chewy edges. Over cooked , dry and tasteless. Three disappointed people.

I’ll be honest, we called here as well Gabbys chippy over the road was closed. Didn’t know Jacksons existed. Well we do now and are so glad we visited. We were both 100% happy with our meal. Certainly recommend, quality food and friendly staff. 👍🏻

Bridlington is full of chip shops. Some are average, some terrible and some are inconsistent. Jacksons however never fails to disappoint… not a flashy high street shop but a humble old school chipy that puts quality and service before everything else….. our “go to” chip shop in Bridlington.

We went to Jackson's fisheries on Good Friday, and they were very busy, the queue was out the door and down the road. As the staff were so busy we had to wait 20+ minutes for our order, but we were told this before we ordered, and we were happy to wait. The 3 x cod and chips were delicious, and the staff were very friendly.

We have been comming here for years and it's always been beautiful, but today the chips tasted like they were frozen and the fish wasn't as nice as its been very disserpointed .

Some of the best fish and chips I have had for a long time. Cooked fresh, crisp light batter, could not have been better. Was recommended to me by locals and justified their recommendation. Shame you can’t eat in. There are some benches in the park opposite for when it is warmer.

Came to Brid for a one night stay, and was recommended to try Jackson’s by the owner of the property. What beautiful food, stunning fish as you might expect, light crispy batter (non greasy) very, very nice chips (they obviously use top quality potatoes) good portions & TBF great value for money! What we had was £20 and it fed 4 of us, and the equivalent in our home town (Derby) would have been £10 more . If ever back we won’t hesitate to call again. Well done Jackson’s 5/5

Fantastic service and fantastic food. Haddock and chips x4 the fish was delicious and the chips were just as good. Staff are super friendly. We arrived at 7.15 and our food was freshly cooked as we ordered.

We had fish and chips recently and the fish was excellent, thick white haddock in a light crispy batter BUT the chips were awful, a few were reasonable but most ranged from poor to inedible, hard with no inside such a shame. Because the fish was so nice we decided to give it another go, everyone has a problem day. The fish was just as good but the chips were just as poor really difficult to understand how no-one else seems to have experienced them, we are local and thought we had found our go to place unfortunately not.

These are without doubt the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. The ladies who take your order are lovely. No need to look any further.

Excellent friendly service. After 7 decades of eating fish and chips on a fairly regular basis our first experience of Jackson's Fisheries proved to be the very best fish and chips ever! First time but not the last.

not worth it for the cold wait of 40 mins I've been going here for a while, was happy with them till now, Friday night we waited 40 mins in the cold for fish and chips this isn't acceptable, the fish was ok, but the chips were very dry like warm ups, we got years ago, the portion was a lot less than normal, I think because of all the pre ordering happening, its just wrong for us to wait so long, I will not be going again, seems to me the shop don't care about the none pre Order customers, let them freeze for 40 mins,

I fairly regularly pre-order fish and chips from Jacksons to take home. It is always ready at the time ordered, cooked à point, and absolutely delicious. In particular the batter is crisply cooked throughout, and does not have that awful thick blanket of uncooked white gloop under a smooth golden surface so many places seem to have decided makes a good batter coating (it does not). Oh, and the fish (we always have haddock) is superlatively fresh and delicious. I used to get fish and chips elsewhere in Brid but the quality slipped at my previous favourite chippy. The quality at Jacksons is terrific.

TAKEAWAY ONLY Belting fish and chips presented in a cardboard box so that the batter doesn't steam and soften on the journey home. Old fashioned? Yes - and, I might suggest, proudly so. Good food? Yes - just like takeaway fish and chips was and should be. Acid test - would I visit again? Yes - in a flash. Single word? Stunning - just stunning.

We use Jackson’s regularly and can honestly say they are the best chippy in town. Have never had a bad meal from them, the batter on the fish is fried to perfection as are the chips. The cuts of fish are always lovely and thick too. The staff are brilliant, always helpful and friendly. Can’t beat them for quality and value.

It was our first visit the Fish&Chips were delicious there were cooked while you waited and the batter was very crispy and the service was good we will be going back when we are in the area
