Jacks Wok is my favourite Chinese mainly because of the Crispy Duck Pancakes. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed on this occasion. The duck was incredibly dry, not at all crispy, bitty (lots of small bits rather than any decent chunks of duck) and tasted like it was duck that had been cooked yesterday and reheated today. Almost hurt my teeth to eat! However, the sweet and sour chicken balls were as lovely as always and the sweet and sour prawns were delicious too.

Purchased Tempura prawns. Sadly it was all batter with a tiny prawn in it. Couldn't eat it. Very disappointing

Only order sesame prawn toast but it was so tip top I walked back in the rain to get some more. If prawn toast is your thing, then you'll be in toast heaven. 10/10 will.toast again

Ordered food, popped to the shop opposite and was ready as soon as I returned.... I'd have rather waited. Rice and chips were warm, clearly just reheated, not cooked to order and was cold two minutes after opening. The batter on the chicken balls was half cooked and just not nice tbh. Sweet and sour sour sauce was the only decent part but in future I'd order from further away than return here.(I live less than a two minute walk).

the food was good but they didn't give a single extra thing...not a single tiny sauce, not even a plastic spoon or napkin! maybe consider adding at least some extra chilli sauce or soy sauce or SOMETHING!

It wasn't great normally it's alot nicer from here. The chips seemed reheated and dry, the spring rolls were just shy of burnt. It was just about edible :( sad because take aways are expensive and a treat now.

First time using this place. Chose same dishes I’ve had elsewhere. Taste just ok and certainly not as good as Dragon Palace (Sheldon) or Dragon-I (Acocks Green). Order 25 mins early which was fine this time but not always ideal.

three of the main dishes were so salty I couldn't eat them. the prawn curry was more like gravey. very disappointed. won't order from these again

Absolutely delicious! Especially the duck with the duck pancakes. No fattyness, just so tasty! Chicken and prawn balls tasted so nice, really good quality. Came with a stuffed bag of prawn crackers and the chicken spring rolls were amazing too!

Always order from here and always get the munchie box, However the past 2 times have been awful. Todays was missing items and had little of what was ordered. Definitely not enough for the price. Not sure il be ordering again.

This is in my view the best chineese Takeaway in this Hall Green, Acocks Green area . Most Authentic in taste and most importantly the ingredients are fresh. Prawn size is the best among all other ones . I have tried most others and have been stick to Jack wok for many years now . Quick and reasonable size portions sometimes two or more can share one portion. I have been meaning to put a review for sometime just to say how good they are . Thank you Jack wok. It’s 85 . You will know who I am .

We heard about Jack's Wok through tik tok, and it did not disappoint. Genuinely, the best halal Chinese food I've had. Chicken in batter with sweet n sour sauce was particularly good. As well as the beef with satay sauce and salt n pepper chilli chicken. My personal favourite was the BBQ ribs and salt n pepper chips. Highly recommend for an authentic British Chinese takeaway experience 10/10

Can't believe I haven't tried this place till today... It is not fancy interior, average packing - it's an old style Chinese take away I remember from days when I used to go to Chinese run places 2 decades ago so very nostalgic and brings memories back. And their prawn and mixed vegetables chow main was tasting exactly the same. Shezwan beef was okay, but for sure better that what I had last time from a more rated place on Coventry Rd .... Good variety even duck dishes, all halal. Super fast service, we waited max 10 min. Good customer service, very polite young man. Nice complimentary crackers. It wasn't super amazing but definitely best I tried in Birmingham so far, had authentic taste. Will definitely come back again soon

Good quality food and portion. The salt pepper chips were to die for!!! As we came from far, the chef and manager made sure the food was piping hot when we came to collect 10/10 !!

Ordered crispy duck which was nice but wasn't a piece of duck but rather shreds which made it look like scraps

Food came within 20 minutes of ordering which is a worry when its a 10 minute drive to deliver as well. Chow mein had no flavour what so ever just plain noodles, veg and beef. Singapore noodles were over cooked or re-heated but again not nice. Chicken in the munch box was hard and chewy. The entire thing went in the bin, £30 down the pan! Not the first time ordering here as always been great in the past but wont be returning.

Don’t know any other place that does authentic halal Chinese and jacks wok is amazing you can taste the quality and reasonable prices can’t go wrong

This chienes takeaway is halal, and the only halal chienes food that i can recommemd is jacks wok, because they know exactly what taste should suppose to be than anybody in birmingham.

Ordered 2 Munchie boxs and a beef chow mein. Everything in the munchie box was seasoned perfectly with so much flavour and the chow mein was amazing. Will order only from here onwards for Chinese food.

If your going to have crispy shredded beef on the menu make sure you can actually make it! It was more like chewy salty beef that I had to spit out. Not a fan.

I’ve lived in Solihull for 12 years and hadn’t found a Chinese that didn’t have at least one major flaw which meant we never went somewhere twice…..until now. Jack’s Wok delivered!! Loved mostly everything except the one dish (chicken balls) I hadn’t had before. I’m just not a fan of heavier batter, nothing to do with the quality. The fried rice wasn’t greasy or overly salted which is a bigger problem than you’d imagine! The noodles were spot on. Can’t wait to try more dishes. I had requested contactless delivery as I’m full of a horrible cold but the delivery was much earlier than expected so we hadn’t a chance to set up the tip for the driver - sorry whoever you were, next time!

I HATED THE FOOD. HATED. I have never had such bad chinese in my life. If i could I would have given 0 star. The chicken was bland and separate. The sauce was separate. Rice were ok. I really dont know why this ppace has good reviews on justeat.

Finally found authentic halal Chinese food in Birmingham and I believe this is the only one if I’m not mistaken. Food was ready to be collected in 10 minutes which was much quicker than I expected and food was still piping hot after a 30 minute drive home. Great customer service from the member of staff on the phone and in the store and prices are very reasonable. Food was delicious and will definitely be back for more, only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the sweet and sour sauce could’ve been better as I felt it was a bit watery. He

You can't go wrong with this halal Chinese takeaway. The chicken curry and beef in garlic and ginger sauce are just the two things we always have. We did have the beef in black bean sauce but find that the sauce can be overpowering sometimes. Apology for the beef dish pic as we tucked in straight away before taking the photos.

I really like the food from here. The noodles are always tasty. Seaweed was lovely too. Just a couple things I would mention. Regarding the chip meals, I wasn't aware they came fully soaked in sauce, thought the sauce would be given on the side - it would be nice for that to be made clear. The crab soup - it would be good if it was just crab used, not seafood sticks (not just for quality and flavour but also to be careful with ingredients and allergies). The sweet and sour cantonese lamb I was quite disappointed in - some of the pieces were really tough and others were not cooked properly, they were still quite soft and pink inside. This was particularly difficult to look at as I'm pregnant :( . I will still order from here again in the future
