Jack's Chippy in Kirklees

Lovely fresh hot food and not greasy, my favourite chippy in the area. I would recommend.

This was the 2nd time I had a takeaway from here in the 2 weeks since I moved into the area and it will be the last time. On both occasions the chips were manky and the 2nd time they didn't have any pies or sausages when I called in one evening. Rubbish!

Great food great customer service but times need to be displayed properly all those that look at the times in the window aren't accurate if the owner sees this please update your times and replace the time displayed in window much appreciated

Called in for fish and chips for suppers...served by really pleasant guy (new owner)..everything cooked fresh and for small fish and chips portions were huge..in fact had to say ..that's plenty... Thoroughly enjoyed everything.. and prices are good.. Good luck to the new owner..he deserves it..and as Arnie said..We'll be back..

Well what can I say always loved this place but now under new ownership the first thing they did is hike up the prices my order whent up by £1.60 and they have changed the oil they use which as a funny after taste, the bater is terrible in fact one of the worst I have tasted and the chips where a bit scraty but some times this can be.down to the potatoes at least they are using the crisper and not frying to order. I think a good move would be to go back to the way Dave and family did it there was always a que out side the shop I have now had to start going back to Dolton chippy where they are cheaper and nicer but further away ,but they came first in the local fish and chip competition. Come Jack's sort it out

Just been for fish and chips for third time in three weeks. Drove round to canal side to eat them. Fish freshly cooked chips just right, can't fault it 👍👍👍 will definitely be going back!

Just had something basic Chips and curry sauce but was very tasty really enjoyed it. Will be back again.

I will never use again!!! Just had a fish sandwich it has a horrible stale fishy smell and taste to it so much so it just got binned. I Informed the person serving, I was offered another, why would you take one when the original one was so bad I will never use again

Food was awful! Chips were sweet and greasy and fish wasn't tasty.

Friendly enough but the chips were undercooked and tasted weird (after waiting 10 minutes to be freshly made). It felt like a waste of brown sauce!

Two Large Fish and Chips with a small mushy peas came to exactly £20. Fish was so big it barely fit in the takeaway box. It was lovely and flakey. Super chunky in the middle. All my batter on one side stuck to the grease paper though. Could've been a bit thicker and crunchier. Walked down to The Flowerpot and sat outside with a Voodoo Chocolate Orange Stout to accompany my lunch :-)

Fish cooked to order ,chips crispy and decent portion. Will be returning soon.

Been to Jacks Chippy a few times now & had lovely sausage & chips , pie & chips, very polite & good value , given how much it costs to eat out these days

Really impressive think it has changed ownership recently the portions were generous and all made to order which is very good and its fresh for you not leftover scraps really pleasant staff

This shop is now closed at the moment awaiting a fish fryer to be employed.

Quite possibly the best chippy in Yorkshire...the best I've tasted since the days of being served in newspaper.

Ace fish & chips. Passing through Mirfield on a narrow boat. Thursday early evening and still very fresh, all cooked to order. When you see a short queue midweek you know you've found a good one. Highly recommend

Me and my wife were disappointed that Mirfield Fisheries was closed so I walked on to Jack's Chippy on the off-chance it was open. I'm so glad I did, we both agreed that its the best fish and chips we've ever had.The fish are huge, fresh and tasty and I had to leave some chips as I was so full after the fish. Great customer service too

Simple, service with a smile. Fish sandwich and a drink. Sat in sun on bench outside. What's not to like 💙💙

Best fish and chips in Mirfield if you ask me

They really are awesome fish n chips. I don't know why, or how but they really are.

Just had excellent fish and fish cake for two. Lovely and hot, nice light crispy batter.

Quite simply the best fish and chips in Mirfield and they are always the same excellent high quality. All items are cooked fresh, the fish is white and flaky, the chips are perfect and importantly the mushy peas are up to exacting Yorkshire standards. Also you must try the Spam Fritters, probably not the healthiest option on the menu but they are simply devine. Give Jack's a try and you will not be going anywhere else!

Excellent fish and chips ..... best by far in Mirfield.

Location for the chippy is great, right next to other shops and taxi , there was few owners but now it's called jacks chippy and I think is best so far . Service is quick , you don't have to wait ages for chips and when they make them they nice , fish is good too , scallop is nice in a butty, inside is clean and specious, menu is clear on the wall and prices reflect how expensive is in mirfield, the two people who are owning the chippy are very nice and make you feel welcome . All round good food and service.

MMMMMmmmm and MMMMMMMmmm again. Not only the best in Mirfield but MMMMmmmm - sorry just eating them - mmmm - I think prob the best in the area. Cracking -

Best fish and chips in Mirfield. The batter is thin very tasty (no soggyness) . They do lovely fish bites and chicken bites for kids which comes with a drink and treat. The fish cakes are made from scratch and all is very reasonably priced.
