J P's Tasty Take Away in Craigavon

Food is v greasy & extremely overpriced, portions are tiny and milkshakes are now the same texture as a slush puppy. What a shame the new owners have destroyed what was one of the best chippers in town. Avoid & save your money.

JPs has gone to the dogs, under the new management. The Fish are revolting, batter sticks to the cheap cartons. Portions are less quantity & more expensive. It’s an atrocious dining experience & I won’t be back. Shockingly bad.

This was the most disgusting meal I have ever had from any chippy. The batter on the fish was burnt and soggy. I wouldn’t even give it to my cat. Will never be back at this excuse for a chippy. Has went well downhill from the new management has taken over. Done try it plenty other decent chippies in Portadown.

I've been a life long visitor of JPs all my life, this has been 30 years of regular visits. As I regularly buy the same food I found tonights to be pretty poor. The changes are clear, cheap pathetic containers and a major change to the jumbo hotdog sausage. Same length but half as thick. The gravy chip I order had almost no gravy which i've never experienced before. The complete package was so poor i'll not be back in a hurry. I'll maybe try in 6 months to see if there has been a return to the past in any way.

I had food in here Saturday night and Monday night both nights most chips were black and bad, small portion sizes and the battered sausages and fish were burnt, for what was once the best chippy in town I won’t be in a rush back

Went to country comes to town today and on the way home stopped in at JP’S fish and chips I had a chicken burger with bacon and cheese with mayo and Chips and my husband had fish and chips which we both really enjoyed,came quick and polite smiley staff.will call again.

Totally awful food , rude service, any wonder it’s up for sale, the original owner would be ashamed of what has happened to this place that was once regarded as the best chip shop in town, total disgrace, soggy excuse for food and rude staff when asked to replace the food

JP,'s has always been my favourite for fish and chips. I don't mind paying for decent food. What I don't like is paying good money for utterly miserable portions. The portion of chips was literally half if what I've had in the past. The fish supper just had a sprinkle of chips more like a garnish than the portion I was charge for. I won't ever be back, it's a rip off.

JP's used to be nicer but on recent visits the food quality and standards have been hit and miss. We haven't returned after our last food order had to be binned due to being cold and undercooked!

This takeaway chippy has definitely declined in its standards. Chips were extremely poor, soggy and cold even when eaten directly outside after purchase. The portion of chips were filled with so many small end pieces. Onions in burger were burnt and very greasy. Used to love this chippy but will have to rethink after past couple of experiences.

Really poor chips and service, called to get a pastie and chips for my father who has to stay at home and he is not fussy however he could not eat the chips, I called to make staff aware and was basically insulted and made to feel like I was lying, conversation was not as expected and stressful we will never ever be back , I called to advise of this because I was unable to return due to having to assist with my poorly mother, really poor way to treat your customers,, still fuming ,, my advice is go elsewhere and you might be appreciated

Called In just before closing and the staff were friendly and helpful.. just got a chicken fillet burger and a chip butty but they were both perfect.. will be back..

Fantastic! Love this chippy Best in the town Give it a go you won't be disappointed The super sauce is lovely and the curry sauce is beautiful.

This is an absolutely fantastic takeaway. But be prepared for long queues. Especially in a Friday. Well worth the wait though!

Our family have eaten here for as long as I can remember and it has always been great. I got married 7 years ago and moved to Belfast but have struggled to find anywhere as good even in a city like that. Many have come close, none have beaten. I dont get to eat here as often as I would like, but when I do its always a treat to come back. Their JP Fillet burger with bacon and cheese is glorious and the food is reasonably priced. Best chippy ever.

Really Great food served here. I called tonight and one girl was run off her feet doing all the frying, serving, taking orders etc. While the others were having a break. Poor girl was coping well but you could see she was stressed. Staffing needs sorted as is to wait fifteen mins and was the first in queue.

Chips are bitter, usually very greasy, curry/gravy - bitter. Tried twice and never went back again...

I'm really surprised that they have any bad reviews! JP's has always been our go to chippy-my family in Portadown. Chips always fresh and tasty, good potatoes and fast service.

Las patatas fritas eran bastante bueno, pero en última instancia fue realmente decepcionante. No volveré pronto

JP's has always been my local, and I am yet to encounter a chippie I'd sooner have. They quite simply make the best chips in the world.

Proper sliced chicken supper and stuffing. Was off going to the chippy for a while, JP's got me back on it. Friendly staff, clean, well prepared and a proper chippy.

Eating chippy food from here for 25 years....never disappoints.....best chip in area. Doing a great job.

estar a 10 millas de distancia cuando en Portadown me ha solicitado que llamar y recoger socorristas hippie y comida caliente. viajes bien y todos se consumen. Siempre lleno, lo que es una buena señal. Buenas bromas del personal.

This chip shop does what it says on the tin! Tasty, Take Away..... Not for the calorie conscious eater. Service is good. Fairly quick turn around time. Be carefull if parking at the door...double yellow lines etcWell done to our local chippy!

A well run spot. First time visiting this place was last week. They had 6 staff on showing how busy it actually was. We preordered our food and it only took 15mins for 4 meals.I got the fish supper. The fish was huge. The batter was maybe slightlyOverlooked in parts but not bad enough to stop me eating it. Chips were lovely.Would definitely go back. The chicken burger looked the ticket

We are glad to say we can now rate this chippy highly. We felt that it had slipped for a period of time there, whether different produce was being used or what we don't know but the JPs taste just wasn't there, glad to see it's back again, we will be back frequently again. Keep it up :D

We have tried a lot off the menu but a couple of high-lights are the beef cutlets & their burgers. Would recommend the fish & chips as well.A good selection of ice-creams also available.Come here hungry as they serve ample portions.

JP's do everything, and they do everything right! Ice cream, chips, pizzas, fish, burgers, chicken....they do it all! Prices are cheap and the portion sizes are always great! You never wait long to be served and you're always served with a smile. Lovely family run establishment.

To me this is the best fish and chip take away in County Armagh. Their battered sausages are also to die for. Everything is cooked fresh when ordered so everything is delivered hot and tasty. One large fish can easily satisfy two modest appetites. While waiting for your order to be cooked, just stand back and listen to the banter among the staff - on a good day I can understand about half of their words! It's funny - but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I called into jp's for 2 battered sausages - they were a bit squidgy and i could tell they were cheap sausages. the chips were tasty, and i cant give an opinion on anything else as it may well have been much tastier. friendly enough staff. would try again...just not the sausages!

I used to always call in here with my mum for fish and chips on a Saturday and hadn't called in in a long time, so we decided to get something out of it again. It is nowhere near as nice as it used to be, the chips don't taste the same at all and our order took forever.It used to be really good but it isn't anymore. Very sad to see and i don't think i will call in here again.

The man who started this business (and who sadly passed away just a couple of years ago) had a wonderful reputation for food which is why I went there for two fish suppers (takeaway) one evening. I've rarely been as disappointed and I certainly wouldn't be back. I'd also like to reflect the comments from another reviewer who said the staff were very sour looking. I agree.

This is a brilliant takeaway. The food is to a very high standard. We have never had a bad takeaway. Highly recommended.

3 of us all ordered burgers and to our disgust the beef was raw inside. First visit and will be the last. There are other places nearby to get food

Really nice curry chips in jps but the staff are miseable as hell a smile wudnt go to lost!! U think all belonging to them had just died!!!Smile girls for god sake cudnt be that bad!!!

The food here is delicious, it's just a shame about their staff. The females working in it honestly look like if they smiled they would crack their face, even the way they ask you if you want salt and vinegar etc. Customer service training wouldn't go amiss, even just a smile goes a long way and manners cost nothing after all

Great staff, great food, great prices...A good variety on the menu and they cook the food to personal preferences if necessary.

Not living in Portadown, and being in the area called in to get a snack. the choice of fast food was wide and reasonably priced. Having ordered the food say a sign for a hippy shake, which ended up being a Malteser milk shake with ice cream. Not for me but for wife. had to go back again to get her a few when she was in hospital. Ended up the nurses tried it as well and they told me they would be calling in for some. The food was fresh and well cooked. Thanks
