This is an attractively laid out cafe/restaurant just off the A96 near Inverurie. There was a reasonable range of light lunches, soups, and sandwiches on offer, and I felt that the prices were good value. You place your order with your table number at the checkout counter. Service was friendly by all staff I encountered. My all-day breakfast arrived quickly and was most enjoyable.

Ordered lunch, waited a long time to receive order without drinks. Drinks took an additional 30mins + to arrive. Staff were pretty unfriendly. Such a shame as I’ve been coming here a while for work using the take away. Decided that whilst up in Aberdeenshire with my family to sit in and try. Very disappointing. Will not be back.

I was a bit put out when thy said they only had butter, for my toast and I was ready to walk out. My husband suggested I go to the shop and buy a tub, sorted. No they did not have any dairy free in the shop. Then I was saved by Claire who asked what the problem was. I told her I could not eat butter , as I was lactose intolerant. She went away and found me some margarine. Brilliant i could now eat my toast. Thank you Claire . She went above and beyond. I will certainly be back. Thanks

Had breakfast at the Oldmeldrum shop. Staff were extremely friendly and courteous. Service was excellent and breakfast was served promptly. Food was freshly cooked and was served nice and hot. Breakfast was very well priced and although staying in a nearby 4 star hotel, we had a far more enjoyable experience here.

Stopped off for a quick takeaway lunch for my family at Inverurie. Shop setting clean, bright with a good selection. Some of the sandwiches were tasty and lentil soup good. Unfortunately one sandwich bread was hard. Also despite nice surrounding, one of the staff was abrupt and rude to us. Incident was witnessed by another member of staff who apologised and said she would deal with it! Such a shame as food good but won’t rush back if service like that !

One of the many J&G Ross shops in the area .This local baker has expanded over the years to become one of the biggest in Grampian Region . With a nice range of cakes and tray bakes they have particularily good bridies and mince pies either hot or cold to take away

Right next to where we stayed this little cafe was calling out for us to get coffee and cake. The cake offering was very good with lots of choice and the same with the drinks. Both were delicious - however, the service was so slow due to there being one member of staff trying to manage everything with a queue forming outside and orders coming in on an app. There needs to be more people helping.

Went in for a quick take away ice cream for me and the kids. There were 2 young girls behind the counter. 1 person was paying for their sit down meal and a mum and push chair were at the ice cream. Seemed to be struggling with Apple Pay and took an age to serve the ice cream. The other staffer was making coffees. A queue started forming and the mum left. Unfortunately I was ignored and the person who just walked on got served. I walked out and got served instantly next door. Not the first time happened in there. I won’t be back

Stayed here for just 1 night while exploring Balmoral and the local area. Room was lovely with a stunning view over the Loch. Even had time to try the golf which was a nice little course. Found the owners to be nice and friendly. Would stay here again.

Was having a family Christmas lunch there were 4 adults and 2 children, we were welcomed in,all proper procedures were adhered to, server asked about allergies before we ordered great but went down hill fast from there 3 of the adults had carvery we were asked what meats we wanted 2 wanted all 3 1 wanted gammon and turkey that was all we were asked. When the meal came she did not know what was on plate.Potatoes, vegetables etc were already on plate not in dishes to take what you wanted (as we were not asked what we wanted) the food was not even look warm and there were very full plates went back, it was not even asked when the server saw the full plates if there was a problem, as this was a Christmas family lunch and £60 we were very disappointed and would think twice about visiting again.
