Ivy 43 Restaurant in Northumberland

We were staying at the Premier Inn which had limited food options so decided to see what else was available in the town. First impression of the restaurant was good and friendly staff but menu very limited. They did not have my wife's first choice and my steak at £25 was a joke and not worth the money. It was tasteless and so were the fries. No steak knife either. We'd ordered 2 pints of Amstel beer which we sent back because it smelt and tasted funny. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Went in for a meal sunday 23rd august only sunday roast menu on no main menu two of us got prawn cocktails the sauce tasted of so we sent them back them two of us had the roast beef dinner and two the chicken the beef was so tough we could hardly cut it there were only two tables with other eaters so very quiet two young boys serving the food up from hot plates dont think they were the chefs very disappoint especially when we were not told about no main menu charged us for the prawn cocktail but after a debate give us six pound of will not done here again

Bought a groupon deal 2x2course meals for £22 it was supposed to be originally £44.I feel that I should have contacted trading standards as we felt ripped off.on arrival the waitress asked to see our vouchers which were on our phones. She wrote down the codes as they didn't have a mobile that worked.we were handed the menus and 2 courses were only £10.95 so even cheaper than the groupon deal.menu was very limited.I ordered fish and chips but they didn't have any. 2 other items we ordered they said they had ran out.when I said there was nothing else on the menu that I could eat, the waitress just stood there and said nothing.i said could you do plain chicken and chips she said ok.during the meal the waitress came with a card and asked us to email our vouchers to e-mail address on it.my husband's chicken didn't seem to be cooked properly and he left it. the waitress said well your friends have eaten theirs.just coz 1 piece of chicken is cooked doesnt mean all bits are cooked.our friend tasted my husbands meal as they were having the same thing and he said it didnt taste right .Groupon deal that wasn't a deal,bad service,few choices on menu and
