Best Chinese in the area, takeaway only, cash only, no delivery. The sweet and sour ribs and king prawn fried rice are superb. large ribs in a superb sauce and a dozen king prawns in the rice. Even tastier with the sauce added to the rice. Tried all the others as far out as Ruislip - the best by far. Won't go anywhere else now. Good value too,

The food is awful. We love locally and tried it several years ago but disliked it. We thought we would try again as it may have improved. However it was the same. There is far too much salt in the dishes that we there half if it away. I’d love to support local businesses but this was so bad, we won’t visit again.

The food is very tasty and diverse, I really enjoy eating from Iver Inn. The interior doesn't look promising, but once you try their food, you will definitely come back. The only reason I rated the place with 4 stars is because they often mix the orders and you end up with someone's else dish, so just always double check to make sure you get what you actually ordered. Other than that it's great! 👍🏻

Food seems to have picked up here in the last year and I find it hot, tasty and reasonably good value for money. We had friends over from Bracknell who said it was the best Chinese they had in a very long time. Recommended at this time. There used to be an abrupt women taking the orders but I found that if you were polite with her she was very pleasant - anyway the food is good. Pre-ordering by phone works well, sometimes there is a slight delay. The ribs are full rather the small, short ones so there is plenty of meat on them

Since this Chinese has been taken over recently, they take phone orders for collection at a certain time but don’t start cooking it until you turn up. Has happened 3 or 4 times now, last night went in to collect and ended up cancelling as they’d not even begun cooking but were claiming it’d only take 5 mins. Shame because the food is nice, they just obviously don’t trust people to turn up!

For starters the lady was ridiculously rude. I immediately felt intimidated and uncomfortable. She also said our food was going to be 10 minutes... Yes it nice to get your food quick but the food we received was definately microwaved and could barely pass as food. We ordered a schezwan chicken which were basically pieces of shredded chewy fat. Absolutely disgusting. As for the other dishes - black prawns, gone off vegetables and lumpy hoisin sauce with a crusty edge. Everything went straight in the bin after spending £30 on 4 dishes. Don't waste you time or effort with this place.

Had a takeaway for 4 people, rice, noodle, duck, prawn toast, sweet and sour Hong Kong pork, chicken in black bean sauce. All very tasty and fresh. Not greasy at all, nor over salty. Given prawn crackers and fortune cookies. Bill was in line with most Chinese Takeaway in area. Would recommend as a solid and safe option.

The worst Chinese Takeaway we've ever had! To start, it was ready in 10mins... Microwave alert! The Beef chow mein literally had 5 pieces of beef and noodles... nothing else... not even a bean sprout or an onion! The "egg fried rice" was just rice. Half the sw/sour pork balls were just pork fat... AND the spring rolls were soggy and had practically nothing in them (see photos). On top of that... they only take cash (no mention of this anywhere) and if that wasn't bad enough, they were really rude! With all the good competition out there I'm surprised these people are still in business.

I ordered Iver House special fried rice, that usually comes on top of the fried rice pork, beef, chicken prawns and a selection of vegetables. Instead I got fried rice with chicken two slice of carrots, two mushroom and a lot of onions! Not what I ordered. Although the flavour of the food is very good, but disappointing, because of the missing ingredients above.

Iver inn was always the best chinese take away around and the food and service was excellent. I don't know if this place has changed owners but the food I had which is normally lovely was horrible. I have the Iver Inn Special Rice and the prawns in it tasted like the had jelly around them and I had to leave it because it tasted that bad. . The chicken in it tasted of nothing and very cheap. The chips were dry and the only nice part was the chow mein and that's why we gave it a 2 rather than a 1.

It's a chinese takeaway. I wouldn't normally rate a takeout but had to after finding the chicken, cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce meal I ordered tasted like heated dry leftovers from a struggling restaurant. The only not so bad thing about the experience was the egg fried rice which was edible & the prices. I will travel a little further next time.

The food here has improved a lot. The Chinese dishes are fresh and tasty. I agree with some of the reviewers about the lady who is front of house. She is unfriendly, sometimes bordering on rude. I've been a patron of the Iver Inn for many years. The food is very good and the chefs are always helpful if you need to make a special request. The staff have changed a few times but they are always friendly. At busy times it's worth getting you order placed over the telephone before you head out to pick it up... giving plenty of time for it to be cooked & less time for you to wait around. Good quality food for a good price. Well worth a visit.

One of the best Chinese takeaway restaurants in the area, very good value for money and the sweet and sour ribs are not the short ones! Chinese restaurant serving Beijing (Peking), Szechuan, and Cantonese cuisine. Will be celebrating 40 years this September (2024). Inconspicuously located in Beaconsfield old town. Hasn’t got the usual large, flashy sign outside. In fact it would be easy to miss! Similarly inside, it is not littered with cheap Chinese decorations. I’d go as far as saying it looks very high class. The front of house staff are very attentive, regularly (but not annoyingly often) coming to check if everything is ok or if you need any more food or drinks. We went there for the Sunday buffet on the August bank holiday weekend. Got there about 1pm. It wasn’t busy at all, but as we were eating a number of people turned up. Talking to the waitress, we were told that Sundays, and the whole weekend in general, is usually very busy. So booking a table in advance is recommended. If you do it through the website you’ll be directed to a third party site. This site ‘warns’ you that that the Sunday buffet ends at 1.30pm. Ignore that! It’s not true. The buffet is served all day Sunday. How it works, is that you’re offered a mixed platter of Peking ribs, spring rolls, deep fried vegetables, crispy seaweed, chicken satay skewers, and prawn toast according to the number of people at the table. Then you get a “tick list” (see photo) where you mark which dishes you’d like to order. So it’s a kind of “a la carte buffet”. Once you’ve finished what you ordered, you can order more, including topping up your starter mixed platter. There’s no limit how much you can order- as long as you eat it all! We chose Chicken with ginger and spring onion, Crispy chilli beef, Szechuan beef, and Twice cooked pork. What’s our thoughts? Definitely much better than your usual Chinese fast food from ‘down the road’. Yet, perhaps not as good as I had expected. From the mixed platter the giant spring rolls, seaweed, deep fried vegetables ,and the peking ribs were the best. The prawn toast didn’t really taste of prawns, the satay sauce didn’t even have a hint of peanut flavour. From main courses: the Chicken with ginger and spring onion tasted of ordinary chicken soup. The Crispy chilli beef was crispy and tasty but I couldn’t tell if there actually was any beef! There was no “chewiness” in the crispy bites. The Szechuan beef was tender and flavoursome, not overly spicy. I couldn’t see any Szechuan peppers… The Twice cooked pork was also tender and tasty. Dessert is also included - deep fried apple and banana with caramel drizzle and ice cream. Pretty bland, to be honest. Disappointing, as I was looking forward to it. Overall, all the dishes had flavour but there was just that “little something” missing to make it stand out. Also, typical of many buffet meals, it left us both rather thirsty. I think the idea is to make the dishes a bit saltier (or use MSG?) to make you order more drinks and eat less food = more pofit.

Over the last few visits we've noticed that the prices have escalated and they've cut costs on prawn crackers and complimentary chocolates and hot towels. Even allowing for inflation, we didn't expect to pay £25 for two pots of hot water and two spoonfuls of Jasmin tea (you could by a small plantation for that). There are equivalent quality Chinese restaurants in the area (Little Chalfont being one). the equivalent meal would be 20-30% cheaper, or better still go to china town and get stunning food (still cheaper than here). Or just go to the wholesaler Hoo Hing in Park Royal, buy a wok, and cook your own (even Dim Sum). Shan't be going here again.
