We had not visited this restaurant before and last night we wanted a quick meal before a meeting. We were warmly greeted by the waiter who introduced himself as Vincenzo. We both had pizzas which were delicious and arrived at the table very quickly. We had delicious coffee afterwards and the cost was very reasonable. We will definitely return when we have a little more time to spend in the restaurant.

I had the spaghetti Bolognese and my other half had a pizza. I am a Bolognese aficionado and it was second to none. The pasta was a perfect al dente and my Mrs pizza was also top class. Would highly recommend . The servers name was Vincenzo and he was very tentative and made us feel at home. Will be back soon.

A very good Italian restaurant that gould be great. Good produce, well cooked and well presented with friendly, helpful staff. Letting it down a little.. no bread and oils on the menu or available, only spaghetti in pasta dishes which would be so much better with linguine, except the carbonara which inexplicably is not spaghetti but rigatoni. We had the cheapest whit wine on the menu at £25 and while pleasant certainly not deserving of that price! No Grappa or Amore stocked in the bar and the Lemoncello came in the smallest glasses ever, warm at £4 each. Just a few adjustments and this would be an unbelievable experience overlooking Poole Harbour

Ordered a starter of bruschetta , which i understood as being Italian bread lightly toasted with tomato and garlic , What was served to me was a sliced baguette ( probably from a supermarket ) with loads of tomatoes diced and garlic salt.. Pretty poor even the only Italian waiter said its not what he would serve,The restaurant is not owned by an Italian anymore, my family and i was so disappointed that we cancelled our main and left,

We live in Poole and have been to Rossos a few times but this was first time post COVID lockdowns. New staff but am not sure if new owners or chefs. Whatever, this was a great meal! Both had Bruschetta to start and it was excellent. Sweet tomatoes, crunchy toast, olive oil and very garlicky!I had sea bass fillet with olives and tomato sauce as main along with baby roasted potatoes. Fillet was huge, way bigger than normally served in restaurants and was lovely. Not a fan of olives so next time would request they were left off, but fish and sauce were really lovely, as werethe potatoes. Other half had spaghetti bolognese (and some of my potatoes!) and said it was great. We will be back!

Super friendly restaurant staff matched with some great pasta and pizza. We visited this restaurant 5-6 years ago when we were on holiday from Scotland, it was a lovely restaurant at that time, however, there are new owners and we were delighted with the service and food. Pasta was cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce, penne al pomodoro. The Burrata Pizza delighted my daughter and the risotto was delicious as well.We will be back!!

Quite the worst restaurant meal we have had in years. I'm kicking myself for going in here on impulse instead of looking for somewhere with good reviews. It's less Italian than I am and I was born in Wimbledon.Stale cheap bread masquerades as bruscetta, six knackered looking prawns are all you get for an £11 starter, oh I mustn't forget the dollop of sweet chilli sauce making them 'piccante'.I wondered why they were making a big deal about "asking Chef" if I could have spaghetti carbonara instead of the rather odd rigatoni, as per the menu. Since they had several other spaghetti dishes, why would that be an issue? Well the answer was that the lazy cook must have it pre-prepared, probably frozen. So up turned rigatoni, with some nasty brown slop in the bottom of the bowl which nobody would ever guess was meant to be a lovely carbonara sauce. Utterly disgusting. My partner suffered some dried up tasteless old bones which were meant to be delicious succulent lamb cutlets. Accompanied by the best and only edible dish of the evening - frozen skinny fries for an extra £4.The house wine at £5 per glass or £25 a bottle is ghastly too, thin watery stuff that probably costs them no more than £4 a bottle.Do not make our mistake, go somewhere better. It shouldn't be difficult.

Taken to this restaurant for a fathers day treat. The wife had a pizza that was mediocre at best, my daughter had pasta that looked like it was out of a packet. Another pizza swimming in oil for the son, looking forward to theamb I was given 3 of the smallest, fat laden pieces of lamb I've seen and a hand full of overly seasoned new potatoes. Over priced and paying for the view. I had read the reviews but didn't want to sound ungrateful as it was a treat. I ended up footing the bill as I could not see my wife treat me to such rubbish. Go to another Italian by all means but give this s miss.

We were in Poole for a short break and decided to go Italian on our 2nd night. We chose Rossa’s as it looked good and the was in a good position overlooking the harbour. The restaurant was not overly busy but there were a few tables there already eating or being served. We ordered the bruschetta to start, a mushroom and zucchini risotto and a sea bass pasta dish with tomatoes. The bruschetta came out and it was pretty uninspiring but palatable. It was basically tomatoes on toast which was chewy and very under seasoned. There was jo olive oil, one leaf of basil and no garlic. The mains arrived and the smell of the risotto was pungent, against my better judgement, I tried it but it was truly disgusting and the worst thing I had ever tasted. The cheese was so strong it was overwhelming and it had a strange gloopy texture. My husband had the pasta with sea bass and it was plain and very very bland. Rigatoni with no more than about 4/5 small cherry tomatoes chopped with chunks of fish and no seasoning at all. Both dishes were truly vile. We called the waiter and said we could not eat either of the dishes to which he said he would replace them. We declined and said we would just like the bill and left.We paid for the drinks and the starter as was billed, they never charged us for the mains as they went back virtually untouched. The best part of the meal, apart from leaving, was the drinks!! We ended up going straight down the road to DaVinci’s and had our main meal there. Totally different atmosphere and the food was absolutely amazing, would totally recommend

We visited as a party of 2 on a Monday evening. From beginning to end we were quite confused by this restaurant to be honest. They brought me out the wrong drink, then the wrong starter, but both were rectified so not a problem. We were warned to begin with that there would be a long wait for food (I’ve worked in hospitality before so understand and this also wasn’t a problem for us). Only one of the staff members on that night seemed to actually understand what customers were ordering, and unfortunately we weren’t the only table that had several random drinks/plates of food brought to their table that they hadn’t asked for (other guests were considerably less understanding). Reflecting on it, staff were actually quite arrogant and rude, just grunting at tables even though they were the ones making the mistakes. The biggest no of all for me was a waiter asking another table ‘That’s not what you ordered? Can you not eat it? Because it will be another 45 mins for the chefs to cook it again’. The food wastage for this restaurant must be absolutely huge, as we seen at least 5 dishes get sent back, and that was on a Monday!! There seemed to be complaint after complaint. In terms of food, we had a bruschetta to start, it was really, really hard and almost impossible to eat as intended. For mains we had pizzas (I was tempted to order steak, but glad I didn’t after realising the price + sides). My pizza was the highlight of the meal tbh, and I really enjoyed it. The bill was ~£70 which we thought was quite steep for what we had. We left still feeling quite hungry and also a bit robbed. I definitely think that this place relies on tourists (charging such high prices compared to surrounding restaurants) and probably doesn’t get many repeat customers, which is a shame because the location/view is great.

The food came quickly but the carbonara was one big mistake. dry pasta with cheap bacon and pepper… pizzas is better in a cheap pub… None of the waiter asked if we liked the food, but they saw that my dish is still whole !! after about 40 minutes, we had to ask few times for the bill because everyone pretended not to see us. at the end the waiter came to take the payment and did not show us our bill. shame!!! our stomach scared us all evening. We went in for lunch, (at about 12:30) should have realised why they were so quiet! Ordered first item, Grilled Prawns or Prawns cooked in Chilli, so I ordered the grilled prawns and asked to ensure no chilli as I can’t eat anything spicy. Only to be told they are already marinated in chilli! So chose next item on the menu only to be told sorry they haven’t got that. After trying to select another two items on the menu only to be told “sorry not been delivered yet” I gave up and said we will go somewhere else! As Mum had already placed her order (yes they actually had that in stock but not something that I enjoy) the waiter still had the nerve to ask if she still wanted her order! She said no and asked if we were going to be charged for the juice she was drinking and fortunately they said no they won’t. We left and certainly won’t be back again!

Had an evening meal and a choice between the steak place next door (which I've been to and thought was excelemt) we chose to go Italian. After choosing our meal, we received the wrong antipasti as it wasn't actually clarified by the waiter at the of ordering. When it arrived we found out and reordered the correct seafood antipasti.2 of the mains came and my Carbonara was more like pasta with bacon and a bit of shaved cheese. The 3rd main finally came as 2 mains had finished and we were thinking about leaving. I asked to cancel the steak and it came as I was in the middle of discussing this.We paid up at the end of the meal, wasn't offered any discount and do not feel we got value from the £105 bill.I won't be rushing back here in a hurry. Went to the steakhouse the following night and the experience was far superior.

Dined here with my husband and three kids. Staff were lovely and helpful however there was a slight language barrier which I believe led to our order coming out wrong. Had to wait a good 15 minutes for all meals to be served and witnessed other guests having similar issues. The food is amazing and we had no complaints about that! This restaurant could be a 5 star if they could just sort their act out a bit more. Would definitely go back though as the food is good although I will be double checking the order is right from the start.

Myself and two others had dined out here...limited drinks other then wines.. waiter took our order and we received the wrong sharer.. no biggy so we ordered the right one.. waiter gave us 50% off the extra dish.. Unfortunately maybe due to current circumstances food was not up to par. If you order dishes that include fish its mainly farmed fish salmon bass and tuna is imported.. for the price you would expect local wild line caught bass not farmed muck. Tuna smelt instead of fresh.. steak bit chewy but not Terribly... pasta on one dish was over cooked the carbonara are more like pasta and whole bacon that you buy from tesco not an authentic Italian dish cooked as it should ,. Two main courses came out togther the last main dish came out 20 mins later.. fillet of beef seating was comfy ambiance was nice but after spending £105 on food don't feel that value or service warrants another visit. Being next to the sea you expect local fish not unsustainable salmon from Scotland and bass from Turkey... Nice people but will not want to come back again sorry

Unfortunately didn’t get to eat. Just a joke, they were not even full,. We were there for 1.5 hours. We were served 1 x bruschetta, our other starter didn’t arrive for 20 minutes so we sent it back and just asked for the mains. After waiting and waiting and waiting I finally asked how much longer it would be and it was still going to be 15 more minutes for some pizzas. So we left. Lady was apologetic but the guy who we assumed was the owner / manager couldn’t care less. They actually had the cheek to charge us £20 (they knocked it down from £25) for the drinks we’d had and the one bruschetta. Couldn’t believe they charged us anything at all. We didn’t even eat. We visited here for lunch. We were promptly shown to a table (not by the window unfortunately as these were all full), we were given the full menu (with no mention of the lunch special menu which we had seen outside) - I already knew what I wanted, so wasn't a problem but it did seem like they didn't want people to go with the cheaper lunch options. There is a warning on the menu than food can take 40 minutes (!) during busy periods. Personally I would not wait that long for this food - Ours was a lot quicker (luckily). The food was nice, nothing amazing (I had the Spaghetti Bolognese), but the starter (Garlic Bread) was like nothing I had seen before - It was like a piece of white bread soaked in yellow, very weird. Tasted OK, but would not order it again. The lunch menu price was OK, but the main menu is quite pricey, and not worth it for the quality. Drinks are very expensive (£3 for a small Coke).I certainly would not rush back here, not terrible, but Rosso's falls between 2 areas - Not good enough for the cost, but not cheap enough to overlook the problems.

Met friends for lunch here. The place was almost empty with only a few other diners but the cocky waiter / manager still nanaged to forget 2 out of the 4 starters - the other 2 starters arrived about 10 minutes after the first two. The garlic bread was just a slice of normal bread spread with butter and a not garlic bread like you might expect. Mains were disappointing to look at and to taste - one of the mains had a frozen prawn in it! Like a touristy Italian not genuine. Food was really expensive with having to order sides as everything comes "bare" with no sides (eg just a chicken breast). Waitress hardly spoke English and had to keep getting the manager anytime you asked for anything. Meal came to almost £100 for 4 people with no alcohol or desserts. Service terrible. They forgot 2 of the sides, too, but still added service to the bill - which was wrong and had to be redone as the manager offered me to knock off the price one missed side and a diet Coke but then forgot. Won't be going back!

Eating here was a real mistake. The guy that struts around like he owns the place, but is actually simply a waiter was unwelcoming and dismissive from the moment we walked in. He proceeded to throw our meals at us, with a grunt and then served my wife a half measure of warm Limoncello. We decided to ask for the Limoncello to be replaced as at £5 this wasn’t even a cheap drink, but when we said it was too warm, he replied “that’s the way I serve it” and proceeded to tip it into our wine cooler as he said he would take it off of the bill. It’s clear that this chap is a bully to customers and colleagues alike, as even his manager found it hard to challenge him. She did take 20% off of our bill, but to be honest I would never suggest anyone eats at this place, as the food is poor and the service, well who wants an argument over what should be a nice meal?

When the bill came the manager had gone off duty & had left no instructions re the deduction. They had added a 10% gratuity however - which we declined to pay. Maybe it’s because it’s August they think they don’t have to worry about repeat custom from summer visitors but this is no way to encourage repeat business from locals such as ourselves.

Jeez, where to start? Well the welcome wasn't warm from the outset. We were shown to a table and the menus slung onto it by the waiter and I assume the owner. Then our orders were taken by someone else who was ok but not particularly friendly either. The starters were expensive and in my case a waste of money. 3 small mushrooms for £7. Not good value for a very ordinary dish. The mains were just bad. Could tell it wasn't fresh, had been frozen and reheated and were very small for a ridiculous price(Think Ramsey's kitchen nightmares if you've seen the show) Pasta dishes with no garnish, just burned in the pots they were pre frozen in and that's it. Bland in taste and I'd say the 3 for a fiver meals in Tesco's are about the same size and taste as good if not better. Italians I know would be embarrassed serving that up. I didn't bother complaining as I could tell I'd be met with an argument or confrontation so we asked for the bill, paid and left. They even add a service charge to the bill. Overall the view is good but the rest of it is not worth bothering with.

Had lunch here with family, food was bland and very small portions, had spaghetti bolognese which I was hoping was traditional Italian...no, bland and boring with no flavour and definitely not home cooked Italian food?

Four of us visited here on a Saturday evening in early July. Not only was the service poor, food orders were taken incorrectly, drinks orders were taken incorrectly, the final bill was incorrect, but to top the evening off 3 out of 4 in our party were within hours of leaving the restaurant acutely ill !

Lovely atmosphere, able to sit outside in the sunshine overlooking the quayside. Service was friendly, seemed like we were on holiday! Food arrived in a timely manner.

Went in with two friends last night randomly, so glad we did, had really lovely waiter called Christian (if i remember correctly) who's hospitality skills were second to none, food came pretty quick and was amazingly fresh and delicious (straight out of poole bay). Deserts were so good i think we had 5 between 3 of us. absolutely going back.

I am not usually that keen on pizzas but we had the Margarita. Wow! It was terrific. Thin, crispy base with excellent topping. My husband had a soup, which was like a meal in itself.

After a very pleasant lunch here I was astonished to read the earlier reviews of Rosso’s. We chose the two course set lunch menu and found it very tasty and excellent value. The staff were friendly and efficient and I would happily return on our next visit to Poole.

This is the second time I have visited and unfortunately I made the same mistake as I did during the first visit. The pasta dishes are actually very nice but beware if you choose a main meat dish of some description. These main dishes are are on the menu at the price of a complete meal but you actually only get a piece of meet with some sauce, if you would like any other items with the meal (eg. chips, potatoes, vegetables) then you need to order them as a side for an extra £3 per serving, adding an extra £6 to a meal if you would like potatoes and veg which becomes a rip off compared to other restaurants for the same meal. Adding to that the meal I had was missing walnuts or any flavour of walnuts that it was supposed to have and the waiter smashing a glass on our table, led to a poor experience.

Thought we would try this little restaurant over looking the Quay. When we sat down there were no air con or fans so felt quite hot and uncomfortable as it was a hot day. Staff looked scruffy, the service was quite unprofessional. We thought let's stay the food could be worth it!! No, we were so disappointed, we ordered pizzas and a pasta dish. The pizzas were bland and dry, the pasta was just passable. The balcony floor was filthy and the glass screens where so dirty you could hardly see through them...

Came here for the afternoon during the folk festival on the quay. Plenty of rude remarks from waiting staff (other customers also agreed). Food was okay but would not return here because of the service. Staff need to have a better attitude and be more friendly and welcoming!!

We visited on Tuesday bikers night but were very early (first ones in) and sat out on the balcony which was lovely. The service was fine and we ordered calamari, garlic bread and two pizzas so pretty standard. The calamari was from a bag of frozen calamari which is absolutely fine but when it costs £9 you do expect a bit better. The pizzas were quite bland and my husbands was overdone. We didn’t look at prices before ordering and didn’t complain throughout the meal but when the bill came at the end we were shocked and wished we’d just gone to Wetherspoons instead. Won’t be coming back which is such a shame as we do enjoy a good independent Italian restaurant. Being made up for now by visiting a chain... sigh.

I have eaten here before because the view is great, everything is good and most of the time the service is great but on the handover time they seam to loose it a little, but that being said it is a great place to eat and the food is good. We ate here on Saturday. Yes naturally busy, and staff were curtious and friendly. The food was terrible. Veal so dry that it tasted of rubber. Pasta over cooked and delivery on plate messy. My husband had white bait starter. Straight from brake brothers, but over cooked. His risotto was made with ordinary rice. Shrimp with shells on and empty mussel shells. With wine £175 for 4 covers. The food here really needs a pep talk.

Had to wait along time for our order to be taken and to be served, staff were rude and unfriendly. Food was bland and tasteless. Very disappointing, when checking the bill they had also added things on that we hadn’t ordered and charged almost £10 for a small bottle of Prosecco. Would definitely avoid!!

Lunch lovely food and service, until I mentioned on my way out that the toilet wasn't flushing. Apparently it was not broken, just that neither I nor the other customers were flushing it properly. If the staff are reading this I recommend getting a youtube tutorial to show how to fix it. Constantly pushing the handle round further will just make the repair much harder to do. If on the other hand this is the standard of toilet flush, ie you have to find the member of staff that can flush it to do so before and after you use it, that is up to them how they run their restaurant!

Ambiente panoramico , moderno e arioso. Servizio rapido e accurato ma non formale. Musica Italiana del passato (che sia Toto Cutugno in cucina?) ma non è un ristorante tipico. In compenso il cibo, non Italianissimo, è valido, buono e gli ingredienti di qualità.

A quiet Sunday evening with a party and a few other tables taken. We were welcomed and the window table had super views. We accepted the suggestion of the special lamb pasta and loved it washed down with a very acceptable glass of merlot. Unimaginatively we had a tiramisu after, and again it was jolly good as was the coffee. Service was excellent and friendly. We would love to go back!

This was booked as a celebration,my husband and I had visited there sometime before when it was under another name that was very disappointing and we hoped that under a new name it would be so different, sadly this was not the case our friends ordered a starter each, one of these never arrived, my main course was quite small, we all waited a good hour for our food, no apology was made at any stage, very unexpected was the fact on a saturday night it was half empty. We will never go there again

I’m sorry to say but the meal my friend and I had here was extremely disappointing and was not worth the price that was asked. We ordered starters the first being the bruschetta which was the thinnest slice of bread sodden with oil , I literally could press my fork against it and it leaked out yellow olive oil , the bread was like yellow mush and to top it off was covered in a mountain of tasteless chopped tomato and raw lumps of garlic. I have never had a bruschetta like this! My friends meal looked like a children’s portion it was so small with about 9 chips , and the sauce was as red as a postbox seemed very processed and not authentic Italian cuisine at all. Not at all what I thought it would be and as a result would not recommend or visit again . Pizza Express is brilliant compared to this!!

Friendly staff and efficient service. The weather seemed to have kept everyone else at home as the restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday evening. There’s a wide selection of starters which are a bit pricey. E.g £3.95 for two small slices of garlic bread without any dips. The soup of the day was an excellent minestrone. Although this surprisingly lacked any pasta. The mains were excellent. Tasty and cooked to perfection. A word of advice though. If you order a steak, that’s all you get. No fries, no side salad, no mushrooms etc unless you order them as extra sides at £1.75 each. This bumps up the cost of the £16.95 main considerably. Overall a nice experience with excellent food.

Disappointing. Reading the other reviews on this restaurant, we must have just gone on an off night. The starters were incredible I have to say but that was all that was good about the meal. Absolutely gutted with the main course as we were looking forward to an authentic crispy pizza base. Unfortunately it was really doughy, good taste just inedible base. Ordered new forest ice cream for dessert not convinced. It may have been but could have possibly been in the freezer for a few years. Bit of a shame. We’d like to go back as this is a local restaurant, hopefully they were just having an off night.

it is a ripoff, I had the dough balls in blankets and you only get 3 and a bit of sauce in a little pot, I had the lasagna after and you may aswell call it soup because it was more sauce than anything else no meat what so ever and 2 bits of pasta so no layers.

Really enjoyed dinner here. All the dishes come in tapas sizes so we mixed it up and shared lots of food. Fab happy hour. Lovely staff who really looked after us. Live music was on in the bar and by the time we left it was packed with people having fun. Best expresso martini I've had for ages. Party atmosphere. Great place.
