Istanbul Turkish Restaurant in Derry

Very nice food and very good service everything it was perfect and helpful staff thanks to team and we will definitely come back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awful.. tasteless food.. dryer up meat, 3 chicken wings and two sauces which were desperate .. bought in tortilla wraps cut into triangles and salad barely alive.. we got the £51 platter for 3.. and there was a McDonald’s size chips tucked under the meat.. the restaurant was miserable and dour.. stay away!

This restaurant tried to pass on to me that they severed me a moussaka all it was were aubergine in a tomato sauce this has too be the worst Turkish restaurant in the world

We were looking for something different and called in for an evening meal. Couldn't fault the food or service in any way. All very fresh and tasty. Although there was a kids menu ours tried a few different kebab types and loved. Will definitely be back.

There was absolutely fantastic food and service was amazing thank you guys. Will highly recommended definitely will go back there

Friday night and we decided to try something different so booked a table for 7.30 for 2….. it was quiet and this is what we like as you can talk. The staff were very helpful and friendly and helped us choose a selection of what seemed to be everything….we were not going to be hungry after the mountain of food we had sat in front of us. It was wonderful and not too spicy. I could say we would have no trouble returning another night even though it is a fair drive for us.

Absolutely vile food, ordered online and the chicken shawarma was soggy, had tons of random stuff but chicken. Most appalling shawarma and falafel you could ever have, don't walk away from this place but RUN! Save your money, time and most importantly your taste buds!

We found this restaurant when we were searching for a place to eat. The food was delicious and service was fast. When we are in Derry again - we will go back.

Absolutely beautiful. One of the nicest meals I’ve had in Derry. I had chicken shish and daughter had schwarma wrap. It was delish!! Staff were lovely 🥰

We have had shawarma throughout Spain and in Arabia the Istanbul Turkish Restaurant’s is the absolute worst ever. The lamb was cooked until cardboard was softer by comparison. Shawarma is renowned for its flavor, this had nothing. The mussaka too had been cooked beyond recognition. The presentation was dreadful. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. SIMPLY AWFUL

Wrong order, not what was ordered. When asked for vegetarian not advised on vegetarian dishes but what came was a dish of bread soaked in a sauce with no vegetables to be seen, menu should have stated that this meal was all bread as no mention of bread. Unable to eat after just having a starter of Menzies with bread. Offered to give another meal but partner had already finished their meal so no point in taking it would have been nice when asked for a vegetarian meal that the waiter had explained what vegetarian meals they provided. Disappointing night out.

Such a beautiful restaurant. The staff are so lovely and so professional. We came as family of four. Our children choose chicken goujons and chips as usual. But they saw the platter we ordered and they loved it and enjoyed that also. Anyone who hasn't tried please do, our first visit and it won't be our last. Thanks for everything tonight, we highly recommend 👌

Not good service! Food was good but service was terrible. Didn’t give good answers to questions about food and forgot to worn us about how to pay. This was the worst experience at a restaurant that I have ever had. It was flat out ridiculous.

Delicious food staff very friendly and attentive very clean good service though a little expensive would def come back and recomend toothers

We arrived in Derry by train just before lunchtime and had a tentative plan to lunch in a particular restaurant. We also had a backup plan for a second restaurant in case of any issues. The websites of both restaurants claimed they were open on the day, but to our surprise, both were closed. We saw this Turkish restaurant opposite our hotel, it had a board outside stating they were open seven days a week. As things turned out, it could not have been a happier accident. I had lamb chops and my partner had a chicken dish. Both came with rice and salad. Both meals were nothing short of excellent. We also enjoyed the Turkish wine which was very good quality and good value. The service was friendly and efficient. We had a very enjoyable lunchtime.

I tried to eat out with some friends in Derry on Saturday 28 January but most of my favourite places were booked out - packed to the hilt - which I thought was great for the city - but where were we going to eat? Luckily we found the Istanbul Turkish Restaurant on the Strand Road - beside the cinema. The food was so good - excellent bread and hummus to start, followed by hot and cold mezze to die for - followed by delicious main courses. I had the sea bass - covered in succulent fresh herbs and vegetables. The staff were so friendly and the prices were reasonable. We didn't have to wait very long for our food either. This was a stab in the dark for us but it worked out so well and I can't wait to go again. I highly recommend this place.

As we stayed just across the road from the restaurant we thought we would try this place. The food was great and very responsibly priced. The vegetarian options are varied which is a great as it can be difficult to find this is Turkish cuisine. The restaurant is only 5 mins from Guild Hall and the walls so easy access to everything

Great food, the starter platter is to die for and the service was the best. Couldn't recommend enough and all at a reasonable price. 👏

Food was fantastic! Great service! They recommended us extra dishes than what we ordered that were even better. And Hamdin the chef was great.

Our starter was from the hot meze menu and we had the halloumi, spicy Turkish sausage and the pastry with cheese and spinach. All were beautiful. Our main course was the lamb and chicken casseroles and was absolutely delicious. Our dessert was baklava and rise pudding and they were stunning! The service was excellent and the price was really reasonable. We can't wait for our next visit :)
