Good choice of tasty food, fair prices. Had a nice chat with the owner who was hospitable - would go again!

My big fat friend ordered a dominator burger and was fairly happy with his purchase, could’ve been a little bit bigger but said it was “the damage”

Popped in for takeaway...no sit down due to Covid..which is totally understandable...owner is amazing...service outstanding Saheed very approachable, knowledgeable, open and honest..def recommend a visit...

If you like kebabs, sayeed is the man, his chilli sauce is on point, his salads are good and his portion sizes are decent,his generosity is unmatched aswell... Free cans, free poppadoms, big portions... I regularly go for sit in meals too just to experience the fresh Indian cuisine... I tried to give him 6 stars but it only goes to 5

Indian restaurant with tasty dishes not only of the Indian culture. We paid the right for what we ate: a good biryani with chicken and a tasty Indian tapas. So gently the owner !

after a very warm and friendly welcome, nice papadums were served, on the house. Had Khan’s Balti and it was delicious. Nice chat with the very friendly owner. Very well located.

As a fan of a reasonably ‘hot’ curry (I like a Madras), I’ve become a reasonably regular partaker of Said’s (the proprietor) version.Initially disappointed at the lack of ‘fire and brimstone’.....no, I wouldn’t thank you for a Phal).....I was quickly compensated by the sublime taste.It’s delicious.Their Peshwari naan is a great compliment to it.Never once been disappointed by a meal from here.Highly recommended.

I came across this place on Friday night while in Stornoway for work as a tour guide . I ordered Khans Balti which was excellent.Nat served me she was very friendly and welcoming. They have local produce with a curry twist including the world famous black pudding and fresh seafood . Try the Istanbul, you won’t be disappointed

Best Vegetarian Curry I had outside India. Very friendly service, nice location. In my opinion not fast food but a proper modern restaurant.

Special kebab (no8) great. Dinner meat redone with tandoori sauce and salad. Huge portion for the money. Really friendly service with additional sauces etc. Worth a visit and would use again if in the area.

We went because it is Sunday and all supermarkets etc are closed so it had to be takeaway

Excellent, reasonably priced meal with friendly, prompt service. Poppadoms on the house on arrival. Delicious Stornoway black pudding pakoras not to be missed. Would definitely visit again.

Loved this little curry house. Fantastic service, knowledgeable staff, close to town centre, pubs and ferry - and the food was absolutely amazing: lamb bhuna and chicken jalfrezi highly recommended. Would stay longer in the islands just to eat here! Thank you! 😍😍

Just visiting Stornoway and the island for a couple of days to take in the festival and sights etc. After a long journey we were all pretty hungry. Went into the Istanbul and had a great meal. Plenty to chose from on the menu to suit all our tastes. Food was really great and plentiful portions. We all left totally satisfied and full up. Relaxed atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. Had some great laughs as well!

Out for a meal with the family,four children and four adults. The menu had lots of vegetarian options. We had a selection from the set and main menus. Staff were polite, friendly and attentive. They were especially good with the kids and accommodating their picky tastes!

Title says it all. Always enjoy my food from here. Pizzas, kebab meat, burgers, or curries. The generous portion sizes help too

During a recent wee trip to the island I was kind of stuck for what to eat while waiting to see friends, but saw this place near the visitor centre and thought I'd pop in. There were a few people already in, but I was seen to pretty swiftly and the donner with chilli cheese fries I got was delicious, piled right up and hit the spot!

I’ve been to many a takeaway in my young nearly-a-student life, but I’ll always have a place in my heart for Istanbul. The first thing I noticed was the local art displayed on the wall, which brought in a lovely touch of colour. Second was the friendly nature of the owner, Sayheed. From the first time I turned up at the door, he made me feel welcome in the building, and he ultimately helped me decide what I wanted to eat based on what I said my taste preferences were.

I was in Stornoway visiting friends when I decided that I would treat myself and the group to dinner out.

Went in there tonight with my pal and my 4month old baby for a meal as was my mums 60th and shes passsd to be refused serviers and chucked out no explanation I eat from there quite often I phoned after leaving for a reason why and was told to have a good life and phone hung up I can't beleive the cheek of it wen I was in there not long ago and have done nothing wrong well il be taking it further

We were in Stornoway on a Sunday waiting for the ferry. Everything appeared closed except the Istanbul, so we popped in for lunch. The staff were very friendly and the food we ordered was very nice. The serving size was very generous and the cost was reasonable. Thanks guys for sorting our lunch out!

The chief is flexible and will cook you food that is not on the menu. My favourite dishes are Mushroom Laal and brinjal chilli garlic. Lovely dishes you cant go wrong.

Local and major curry fan here, lovely friendly atmosphere great place for a curry, its my go to for an occasional treat!

We're a group of folk from the clubs and societies and microbusinesses at the university here and Istanbul Stornoway is our place of choice for a Friday night post rowing/pre rowing/sport get together...

We came to the Istanbul for dinner one evening and regreted it from the minute we went inside. Along with a bit of political chatter ... interesting... we ordered 2 kebabs for takeaway and we shouldn't have. The kebabs were not kebabs but a load of something sitting on top of a piece of pita bread. eE were not given napkins or wipes for out takeaway slop. I am really hoping we got the restaurant on a bad day and this is not a true reflection of their service.

We had kebabs and a pizza walking back to the BnB. Very tasty kebab and a lovely pizza. He made it half and half because one of us doesn't like peppers.

We got a family deal 20.00 but the whole meal was greasy and sub standard. Overall pretty poor quality and was presented like a dog's dinner. Not one of the staff had a clue about food as evident in the food we got. Friendly enough though, avoid unless you want to be disappointed.

Went here for a meal tonight the food itself was good but service was appalling. The staff need training for sure. Not very professional at all. Telling customers what they should have to eat when they have already ordered. Also never told customers there card machine was broken until 1 customer complained even tho there was a bank nxt door. Also please brush the floor.

If the Bangladeshi owners think Istanbul is part of India then I should have been warned. Awful. Colouring, sugar, and simply awful food.

Bought pakora and a donner kebab both were revolting and were. Quickly binned I’d rather go hungry than eat from there again and it’s filthy inside as well

Ordered a simple kebab, with chips. Chips were well done and the meat was chewy/tough, ended up using the chips as tooth pics. The guy that served me seemed angry and I felt like he was posturing quite a bit??

The donnor kebab is lovely,great sauce too. Can't fault it. Havnt had anything else so can't comment yet. Definitely be back next visit

Pequeño restaurante. Creo que los chefs pueden cambiar a medida que prefería la cocina cuando abrió, platos favoritos como Ghost Chili tienen un sabor diferente ahora. Eso no quiere decir que no es bueno porque es, a un gusto personal y perspectiva. Recomendaría el restaurante y la puerta para llevar al lado que hace excelente kebabs.

Arrived late 10 pm for take away. Placed order and received less than asked for minus chips and very expensive. Most expensive takeaway I have had to date. Food Ok.

I ordered a chicken biriyani. It was delicious and excellent value. It came with a medium plate of biriyani chicken and a side of Indian style cooked veg in a tomato sauce. The service was also very very good.

Got a takeaway from here, mixed kebab, It was cold, and looked like a dogs dinner, 3 of us had different meal and all were terrible, when we rang to tell them, some guy with a dodgy American accssent said he didn't believe us then hung up. Seriously avoid.

we ordered pizzas to share between 4 of us,dribbling with lots of cheese and the kids enjoyed the meal deal where the got a free can of juice to wash the pizza down,good menu lots to choose from

Food was ready quickly and the guy at the till was very friendly. When I got back to eat the food I found the donner on the pizza was burnt to crisp and the chips weren't cooked all the way through. Very disappointed.

The other place to get a take away Kebab or Pizza.Better value than Pronto also a siti in restaurant but I've not tried that element.

Iv been here a couple of times,when out at functions on a Saturday evening,coming out of the venues feeling a tad starving!..we decided to try Istanbuls pizzas.We ordered two different types each,the twice we were there.The member of staff serving us,was a lovely,chatty,friendly young man.We even got a can of juice each,as a complementary gesture! Great service,Great food and friendly helpful staff! Thank u! Highly recommended!
