Son: First i am kindly welcomed by the very polite male manager and female manager, making me feel welcomed and like i belong here 😄. In a very short amount of time i am kindly asked what drinks i would like which was great 👍. Slouching in my unbelievably comfy seats, making the experience 10x better. My starters arrived within the first 8 minutes of ordering, the presentation/ taste and smell of my starters were outstanding and delicious. couldnt get enough, service was actually amazing, even asking me if im done with my food so they can take it away 🤩. - deserves 100 stars - staff very polite and well mannered - great hygiene - very comfy seats - flawless experience Highly recommend this Resturaunt !! I will rate it as 1000 stars Restaurant the gentleman maniger and the lady Manager They are absolutely accredit to this restaurant because of the way they make everyone feel welcomed and show the true love and the care for every single one customer in the whole restaurant and This the staff waiters they all work hand in hand which no Order gets confused and whatever you order it is at your table within a minutes The communication is spectacular. The chefs are unbelievable. The taste of the food immaculate the meat is fresh so well done that you cannot get enough now guys this is down to you. You read the reviews and you come and see yourself. I feel so comfortable. I’ve been here since 7 pm till 11 pm to be honest. I don’t really wanna go home because the staff is like FAMILY they are so lovely friendly they actually don’t rush you to leave. You can take all the time you want and even if you decide to sit until the restaurant shuts once everyone’s gone they’ll come and sit next to you and have a lovely conversation with you Even when you leave the restaurant they watch you and make sure you get into your vehicle safely and they even act like security guards and bounces so what else can you guys ask for? I tell you one thing guys I can never ever stop coming here in my life because it is the high standard class Restaurant I have ever been in. I will definitely be back towards the middle of June for a beautiful surprise meal for my husband that’s going to arrive in the UK. Had a family members 80th birthday and the staff were absolutely brilliant! Allowed us to decorate the table and bring cake and balloons. Great food, great atmosphere and fantastic friendly and helpful staff.

Very disappointed. To start with there were flies around the table. My chicken fajitas unexpectedly swimming in a sauce. The wrap was cut into small pieces so unable to wrap the food in ot. The cous cous I asked for turned out to be bulger wheat. Guacamole probably had no avocado in it and was like a thin sauce. Very Very poor.

Wow wow wow, first time here with friends for my birthday, the food was absolutely beautiful, fresh, hot and extremely flavourful, I would definitely come again. We had a mixed platter for main, but started with flaffel, hummus and hullumi.

Really good value for money restaurant. Very tasty food. We had Halloumi to start then Special pide and a Lamb dish to follow with a Feta salad and chips. Staff are attentive and friendly. Good ambience in the restaurant would definitely return.

A friend had recommended this restaurant to my wife. I booked the table online for 5 of us for 6.30. We arrived there a few minutes late, the place was buzzing, full of families and couples. The staff were very attentive, even though it was so busy the waitress who sat us down came with menus and explained it would be prudent to order quickly which we did. Starters were bread and various dips that went down well. The four adults had a sharing board along with chicken schwarma and chips. Overall it was a very nice way to celebrate my wife’s birthday, suffice to say we will be returning there again to eat, the bonus was you can take your own drinks

This place was great ! So polite and the food was incredible would come here again! As well if you go here try the Turkish tea you will be impressed

I should have guessed that a place specialising in barbeque wouldn't be great for vegetarian food. This was my second time and first time I had falafel. I bought a salad because I couldn't find many vegetables in it. It was OK, and the service was friendly, so I was open to visiting visiting again. This time around, I had vegetable moussaka, which was truly horrible. The big slice of aubergine at the bottom was so overcooked and burned that it was like old leather and constituted about half of the dish. The dish also came with chips that were not freshly fried but cooked and then kept warm—so lukewarm and soggy. It's popular because it's vast and open - but there are better med/mid eating places in Hudds now. Try them instead.

Unacceptably challenging staff who initially repeatedly refused to serve tap water with our paid for drinks. Very badly trained staff who don't understand the hospitality industry at all. I requested some tap water to go with our meal. I was told they don't serve tap water,that we had to buy bottled water. I asked to speak to the manager about this. He continued to argue his case , that he didn't have to serve tap water. I continued to insist that I wanted tap water or we were leaving. Eventually he relented. We then ordered our meals. Despite advising the waitress that one guest has an intolerance to tomatoes. Tomatoes were served to that guest. This was a pre theatre event meal , so time was limited. The after serving the meals, the waitress asked if everything was all right. At which point I pointed out the tomato error and the poor customer experience when I requested tap water with our paid drinks.the waitress continued to argue with me. Not a mention of an apology from anyone. I like to support local independent businesses but I am afraid I cannot return here. The staff and management need to be better trained in how to ensure customer satisfaction .

Had sirloin steak, was more like a rump steak. Asked for medium-rare, was more medium-well done. Peppercorn sauce was just full of peppercorns, more peppercorns than sauce, made it unenjoyable. £100 wasted in my eyes. Still finished the food as didn't want to waste it.

A great place to have a good family and friends meal was very good and the staff were lovely and friendly and the choice of food was good no alcohol its bring it’s bring your own alcohol

Great food. Great staff and great place. We ordered a platter for 2 and there was plenty of food and it was delish. Staff were great and attentive. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was steady with a few large tables and some couples. Manager gave us complimentary tea. We will def be back.

*** No alcohol served - bring your own *** Ate here with my Mother on a Friday evening. Very friendly and attentive service. We were asked twice if we were enjoying the food. The starter and our main dishes arrived quickly. Excellent portions. Everything was very tasty. The restaurant was full when we left, so you're best booking beforehand.

Lovely food , warm and big portions The manager Fahad and waiters really looked after us . Had a fab time Would recommend.

Thank you Huddersfield Istanbul Restaurant for a lovely evening spent with my family. The food was amazing, the sharing platter gives a generous portion. Farhad and all the staff were so attentive and caring to all our needs. Thank you again, will be visiting again soon.

Lovely selection of food at great prices, and the staff were friendly. They lost a star for the average service which was quite slow.

Really tasty food and we had the lamb and chicken koftas but was disappointed that the rice was a very small portion and it would have benefited from a bit of salad on the side. The children's portion of this was brilliant with both chips and salad. Starters were tasty. Creamy mushrooms and calamari but again very small portions. Will go again tho

Absolutely fantastic! Recommended by a friend. Really fresh, tasty, well cooked food. Friendly, helpful staff. We had the calamari to share as a starter followed by the platter for 2/3, all was delicious but when we revisit which we definitely will, we will not choose a starter. The platter in my opinion is more than enough for 2. Total bill £39. We took our own alcohol and had a jug of tap water. Thankyou SO much x

I was so glad to see that Istanbul had reopened after their fire last year. The food was just as delicious as we remembered it. We opted for the mixed platter for 2-3. There was so much food we brought some home. My favourite on the platter was the Chicken Kofte. It was so flavourful. The staff were all really friendly even though they were rushed off their feet as it was so busy. Good choice by my husband tonight. We will definitely be back.

There is some serious quality control and cost cutting issues here. We ordered the hot mezze sharing plate, a dish we’d had before, and really liked but it was so disgusting, it was inedible. The first problem was that instead of whitebait, there was cheap, soggy frozen onion rings, with no apology or explanation for the substituted item, then it went downhill from there, every single thing was clearly frozen, bought in and deep fried, including rancid halloumi, rock hard, stale falafel, dirty oil flavoured sausage and powdery, deep fried filo parcels. There was not a part of the dish that was recognisable from the first time we had the meal, which in recollection was fresh, light and clearly homemade. The platter should have cost us £16.50, which is a steep price for Wetherspoons quality food. It’s was cheap and nasty tasting, with no care or attention to the food. We ordered 2 other things, a shepherd salad which was so salty it was again, almost inedible, and a lamb flatbread, which was greasy and cold, the 3 dishes came out with at least 8-10 minutes between each one. The restaurant did not charge us for the platter, so I am hopeful that the feedback was taken on board, after we showed how demonstrably stale and old the falafels were. A hockey puck would have been more appealing. The menu was also caked in old food and sauce. Very poor quality, low effort and disappointing lunch. It’s taken hours for the stale oil flavour to leave my mouth. Such a shame as the first time we came it was delicious. Why change a good thing? If I wanted frozen food, deep-fried, I’d get better quality at Iceland.

My son is at uni in Huddersfield and I travelled up to see him and take him to dinner for his birthday. He suggested this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, fresh and plenty of it. I also loved the fact that we could bring our own alcohol which I think should become more popular in the restaurant business. I would have given it 5 stars but on arrival they didn't have our booking we think it was because when my son booked over the phone he asked for a table for 5 people at 7 pm and think they got the numbers the wrong way round as that happened the first time my son visited with this girlfriend. Anyhow, the lovely waitress kindly found us a table and we had a great time. It was packed and its a big restaurant.

Avoid this restaurant. The service is poor. The staff are casual. They plonk the food on the table and do not know the menu. When we asked about a particular dish, the waitress said she didn't know because,"not many people order it". The complimentary nibbles were nice. The bread was good. The chicken wings starter was tasty but the lamb's liver was chopped to bits and dumped on the plate. It was average. Our main dish was lamb shish which was truly dreadful. The meat tasted like sawdust and seemed to have been stewed. We left half of it. The rice was soggy. The presentation was basic - no frills. We spoke to the Manager to give helpful feedback about the meat. He rejected our comments and told us to visit the kitchen to see how fresh the meat was. We declined. We left payment in the wallet on the table and began to leave. He accosted us at the door and accused us of leaving without paying. When he realised his mistake, the Manager covered his embarrassment by becoming abusive and aggressive, at one point threatening to "smash your gob"! This unpleasant altercation caused us to miss our taxi, which came then left. Needless to say, I would not recommend the Istanbul. Ephesus, another Turkish restaurant nearby is much better. There the food is good and the staff are professional.

Regular visits here both sit down and take out, recent visit with some very discerning friends who absolutely loved it. Does get very busy at weekends so book in advance , staff attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Private function room if required, the resteraunt is very spacious so you wll not feel hemmed in. The selection of fresh food cooked on charcoal grills is out of this world. if you love authentic kebabs cooked in the traditional way , you will be running back for more! We are local so often collect the take-outs from here. Go for the 'Platter' option with plenty of variety, all freshly prepared with salads and home made dips , flat breads etc all included. Paying a bit more than your average take out but will easily feed a family of four for 2 days !!!

Great place have family dine out friendly service good atmosphere and good value for big bookings such as b.days and big meetings.

Disappointed, food served lukewarm. Very underwhelming. Service was poor, waitresses standing around talking, never checked whether our food was ok, which it wasn’t. When plates were collected with lots of food left we said it was all served lukewarm she never apologised. Needless to say,...
