Istanbul Restaurant is a unique place. Very good food and pleasant atmosphere. Nice service, including one very nice waitress from Poland. I recommend visiting!!

Real shame that Istanbul has gone down hill in both service and quality Went last week for lunch with a friend, service was appalling from the moment we walked in: 1. The waiter was very unwelcoming and had a disgusting attitude 2. The waiter then disappeared and there were no staff around for 10 minutes, I was considering to get up and leave when eventually a waitress had come out from the back and took our order 3. After taking our order the extra plates and cutlery on our table were not taken away 4. After receiving our starters, I had to remind the waitress of our drinks 5. We had a 35 minutes gap between our starters and mains despite there being only 1 other table of 4 at the time 6. The table was not cleared when the mains came out, instead we had to clear the table ourselves while the waiter stood there 7. The quality of food was not what we were used to, usually the chef is one of the owners but this time it was someone else 8.The staff then decided to take their break all at the same time and sat down on one of the tables for lunch, I felt I was being an inconvenience by disturbing them by asking for additional drinks and sauces 9. Went to visit the toilet which clearly needs work done to it and a good clean because the smell in there was horrific Towards the end of our meal, as we are about to leave, a gentleman dressed in a blue suit walked in and the staff immediately got up from their seats - turns out he must have been an owner/manager as clearly the staff started working I've been a regular here for at least 5 years and won't be returning again, this experience has really been off putting, I hope the management take this review seriously

Great food and a great service from a fabulous bunch of staff, unfortunately the tables outside have been removed, but the restaurant has a brilliant air con system witch was a must on a red hot evening.

We have visited Istanbul last Saturday for the first time and we will definetely come back! The food was fresh and really tasty. The staff was very polite. We were served by a young lady who was helpful and recommended us their most famous dishes

We used to eat from here often but we stopped and yesterday after getting a take away we remembered why. My lamb shish was just so fatty there was barely any meat to eat. The salad was brown and looked old. I had to throw it away.

The restaurant is quite simple decor wise but the food and service are excellent. The Greek salad is so fresh and the meat is really tender. Portions are large and very good value for money. The staff are great, we were served by Baki who introduced us to Turkish coffee and Turkish delight. Delicious! We’ll definitely be back..

Member of staff could not confirm whether food in this place was halal and therefore I did not eat here. The food did look nice and there was plenty of seating on the day that we visited myself and my wife it’s a real shame that food could not be confirmed to be hello so we left and went across the road.

Menu looks good but clearly struggle with their time keeping where opening times say they’re open and they're actually not e.g Monday 15th April @2pm. Best to call them before wasting a trip.

I was craving for some proper syrupy turkish baklava. Having tried a few local shops that sell rubbish in the name of Baklava, when I tried the Baklavas here, I was pleasantly surprised. They sell the best authentic fresh Turkish syrupy baklava in Ruislip. For those who are vegetarians, I was told that the baklava they sell are vegetarian. Hope, I have answered the questions for all proper baklava lovers so that you are not seen as someone taking the piss by calling them to ask questions.

This is a very nice restaurant with lovely staff and very tasty food. I would recomand this place!

Many places we visited for Turkish food, we love Mediterranean dishes. When we searched in Google, this one appeared. It’s a simple place, food was fine. Staff were friendly and food was served quickly. If it’s close by you may try once.

Used to go here years ago and loved it but after todays visit I won’t be back again. The atmosphere….none! Staff were miserable and it wasn’t because it was busy, it was far from it, in fact we didn’t even get a smile. They served our starter with salad but didn’t clear the dishes etc before coming out with our mains. We asked where the salad was for the mains to be told the salad from the starter was it and he seemed pretty put out because we questioned it. I will add the salad wasn’t fresh either.The mains were ok but nothing special at all in fact mine was pretty dry and it’s small portions but as others have said the prices have gone up and portion sizes down. I then had to visit the toilet and that’s was enough for me. They can obviously refit the main eating area but can’t clean toilets or even refit those (I’ll include pics of it). Save your money and go somewhere else. Lots of lovely places to eat in this area so their establishment needs to improve as their competitors are certainly outshining Istanbul by far.

I visited this restaurant twice this week. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Big portions.Complimentary salad and pitta bread. We had chicken shish, sarma minced chicken, halumi starters. Super tasty food and definitely the place we would come back again in near future.

Food and taste quality wasnt same anymore. Meat smells and not properly cooked and too much salty.

Everything I have had from here has been made with quality ingredients, is freshly prepared with care, and absolutely delicious too. Friendly staff and great value for money as well. I eat a lot and was stuffed after starters and a main. A gem of a local place, would give 6 stars if I could. Edit: I recently visited after a long time and am happy to report taste and quality of ingredients is just as good as before, if not better. Restaurant was a little quiet when I arrived but was soon filled with a pleasant buzz and a lovely ambience. Also worth a mention, they do not include a service charge by default, which itself is to be commended in my humble opinion.

Good selection on menu. We are vegetarian and they made up a vegetarian platter for us so that was good. Staff attentive and polite. Food came in good time once ordered. The decore is bery nice but it's still cafe feel type of place. All in all okay. We sat outside as we had our dog.

I usually love the food from here and choose it over anything else. We can't afford it but I still get it because it's been good. But won't be ordering again after today. Cold food arrived. Salad very wilted, bread very oily, chicken tasteless and strange texture, rice much less than usual. Very disappointed because it's actually a lot of money to waste.

Great decor not over the top, meet and greet was instantaneous, choice of seating was offered. Menu was good and when we ordered within 20minutes all the dishes were layed. Great taste, tender meats.Will definitely be going back. The attendance by staff was good at various times of our meal. Forgot to take photos of mains.

Every time I visit, I discover another dish that leaves me wanting to go back sooner for more. What I am currently enjoying is the meze meat platter with lamb and chicken. It is all so succulent and just falls apart in your mouth. The meat needs no additional sauces or spices as it is perfect just the way it is. We, my friend Karen, and I shared this platter, along with a side of crispy fries, humus, flat bread, and green salad. The platter is essentially for one person, but we found this enough to satisfy our appetites. If you are still hungry, then order another portion... The Turkish house wines are really easy on the taste buds and chilled to perfection. I have been there at least 6 times and even celebrated my birthday, with friends in March. It is truly a favourite in the area, and it seems that everyone I mention to, know about the outstanding taste experiences at Istanbul.

Avoid with all cost dirty and hair in my food

We go to that place for more than 8 years but food is not the same quality as before and the quantity was reduced and prices have increased. It is regrettable because we used to like it but we will look for another alternative now.

Their Istanbul Special for £33 will feed 4 people and is of the highest quality. The photo below doesn't show the layer of 2 types of rice underneath. Support your local restaurant in these hard times. 2023 update: as good as ever, but prices are considerably higher now.

Worst kebab in the borough, god help you if you pick this dross! You have been warned! £11 for a chicken doner kebab, worst kebab I've ever recieved! The chicken was the tiniest portion ever, the rice was huge, the beans was huge, I ordered a kebeb - I didn't expect any of that b.s! Chicken, salad and bread, and I got 99% rice, a cut up bread I can't even eat the meat with, as I'm not 6 and don't expect to be served soldiers... Wasn't even asked what sauce I wanted.. Sod this place! I got more rice and bean than anything. The chicken was basically non existent. 1.2 our of 10. You're a mug to eat from this dive

This is what mixed kebab gets you … he may look like a small plate but is really enough for 2 people….the meat is really tasty And tender and the rice(2 types) and bread is really good … definitely a good meal

Today was my second visit to this restaurant and my review about it would be the same as the first one. They did an amazing job. The service was quick, staff is very friendly and polite. We reached late and stayed beyond 10pm which is their usual closing time. No one asked us to leave until we were done. Coming to the food, it was delicious. I ordered mixed grill and the meat was juicy, well cooked and had an amazing texture. Loved every bite of it. Serving size in my opinion can be improved by adding a bit more rice and maze. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was actively cleaning the tables after every customer. Overall score 9/10 Quality 10/10 Quantity 8/10 Value for money 9/10 Ambiance 7/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Didn't take the pictures, otherwise would have uploaded them.

Prices are fair, and the food was good.

We made a last minute decision to go here as a family as we fancied something light, hadn't booked ahead and wanted somewhere to sit in. None of us had been before and I have to say we were all very impressed. We were seated straight away even though it was quite busy for a Tuesday evening. A varied and inviting menu to choose from with many expected favourites from Turkish cuisine. The food all came out together, was delicious and reasonably priced. We wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Does not worth to waste the money in this place. Their food quality recently became very poor and very stingy small portions. Plate for 2 not enough for a kid. Unfriendly unhelpful rude staff. Never again.

Nice Turkish restaurant where some friends and I shared a really good hot & cold meze with a few bottles of fine house red wine. Service was good and not overly attentive although it did take some time to get the bill because our waiter kept forgetting us. 😊 Very reasonably priced, tasty food with an artery-hardening baklava to finish the meal. Great stuff.

I think I've probably reviewed these before. They are great. The food, the ambience and prices are excellent, as are the staff. Five stars all the way.

We are lucky to have many good Turkish restaurants in this area but Istanbul has an edge on all of them. Ordered takeaway tonight and I couldn’t fault them on anything. Excellent food. I look forward to my next meal with my now favourite Turkish restaurant - keep up the good work Istanbul !!!!

Very polite and attentive staff. The food is average and very very salty. Please make more effort to make the food tasty without just adding salt and oil, so we can come back.

Lovely Turkish food every time- preferred here to yaprak in recent years as prices were slightly cheaper for the same if not better quality food. I’ve noticed prices have gone up however recently hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Would recommend for a takeaway or sit in, staff are very friendly!

Have eaten from here many times and tonight got a takeaway. I ordered chicken ceaser salad that was supposed to come with croutons, pamersan and ceaser dressing but what a got was lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes chicken and a splash of salad cream lol!
