Istanbul Kebab House in Ceredigion

These guys have given up 10 years ago, but still refuse to close down shop so they serve every customer like they are lepers. I've seen prisoners walk up to the gallows with more enthusiasm. The food was not always terrible, I ate half a dozen times or so here, sometimes it was actually good. It's a shame that this constant disgusting attitude eventually spoiled the whole experience and the entire place for me and my friends. We now discovered Costi’s Grill, where the food was average, but the friendly attitude made it taste so so much better.

Put on the grill a frozen Kofte Kebab I was fuming. Sort it out, awful attitude to Turkish cuisine. My local kebab shop would never do this. You should be ashamed

Nice food but service is horrible they always get orders wrong they get every order I put in wrong they don't listen to customized requests over all not happy

£8.80 for a massive wholesome kebab brimming with meat and veg. Could have easily been cut up into 2-3 meals.

Ordered a lamb doner kebab from here tonight as soon as I opened the lid I could smell a burnt smell and the whole thing including the salad had an awful burnt taste to it was inedible. Even my finance who eats anything put in front of him turned his nose up at it. Won't be going here again.

I had the misfortune to buy the most expensive doner kebab that I have in my life ...and it was cold and disgusting ...it gave me and my daughter a severely bad belly .....plus £1.80 for a can of pop ....the place wants to close down....they have not got a clue ....they need competition in this town .. then then would not sell crap to the public....

Called in while working in the area. Best tasting chicken doner I've had in a very long time! So good I went back the 2nd night. Good portion size, fresh salad and the chilli sauce was tingly but not volcanic. Definitely a place to visit.

Worsed burger ever had.. bad cheap rubbish

The food was cold, dreadfully cold. I put the time as abysmal because I had a notification saying the driver was on their way. Which he turned up like 20 minutes later. Even though I'm like a 2 minute drive away. Just really cold greasy food, never this bad but it's so bad tonight that I had to do a review.

Had a chicken kebab after a late shift and the chicken is not edible. It’s slimy, looks like it’s been glued together. Id even go as far to say that it’s not pure chicken. It should not be wet and sludgy. It’s a meal destined for a upset stomach.

The munchy box is more than worth the money. Kids and me absolutely love it :)

The food was so spicy it was inedible. I have picture evidence. It was drowned in the sauce. I asked for garlic mayo and ketchup, safe to say there wasn’t an ounce of it. Worst takeaway in Aberyswyth.

The chicken in the kebab, smelled and tasted old. Plus there was zero seasoning on the chicken. Not a good kebab.

Man who served us was so rude and aggressive, it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, we left without anything. The owners really need to think about who they’re hiring. Horrible man.

Reliable fresh food open till late, best stop after the pub!

Called in as I hadn't had a kebab for ages. One couple waiting for food so I thought a few moments and I'd get served. Nothing, just kept walking into the back and out again. Left feeling annoyed but determined to have a kebab. After a few mkments I saw the couple leave so went back in. Nearly 5 minutes before someone appsared. Ordered a large mixed doner with garlic mayonnaise and salad with peppers. Got to my b and b looking to enjoy. Cold, doner meat salty, tastless chicken think it had been boiled not grilled. Tastless putrefied sauce and soggy salad. Pitta bread was tastlesz dough. What a complete waste of money and I've had some dodgier tasting better in the past. Thumbs down Istanbul, your clients are not all drunken students.

Got ripped off from this place last night. Asked for a 1/2 burger he charged me £7.00 I sat down then asked him if that includes chips when it says on the board or does. He said no. He then charged me £1.50 for chips on the side. The burger was burnt the salad was brown. I will not be going back. Absolutely appalling

Super food, quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had

Good food, choice of lamb and chicken or mixed shish and doner kebabs and pizzas. Portion size is good and service is quick. Friendly staff, hygienic and well lit ambience. Only take away. Open till late. You can choose your sauces and veggies.

Lamb donner was OK, but disappointed with service. I asked for a large donner and chips and staff didn't recommend I could get the meal deal for the same price which included a drink. Good customer service would be to give the customer the best deal!

Too much lettuce and garlic sauce in the wrap, and not enough chicken, Luke warm food, chips dry.

I received completely the wrong order and the restaurant kept saying it was on the way even though I'd already received the wrong food. Terrible service now days place must of gone down hill

Just eat themselves made this order ridiculously hard, for both me and the shop. But the shop was helpful and polite, big thanks to them and the delivery driver- tipped as always x

Love this place, eat here at least once a week. Burgers really taste flame grilled and they always get the order right. Totally recommend the house special, best way to eat a kebab in my opinion. Extremely cute and polite delivery lady too.

Was very good. Delivery was about 15 minutes early which made me happy because I really wanted my kebab. The kebab was a bit spicy but that’s ok and it made my throat and chest hurt but I think I just ate too quickly because it tasted so good and then I had half of my chips and they were really nice but I was full so I put the rest in the fridge and I’ll have them tomorrow. Anyway, would definitely recommend to anyone who likes kebabs. Also the deliverer was really friendly and deserves a raise for her attitude :)

First time customer. Lovely food. Delivered much quicker than initial delivery estimate suggested. And I discovered the Holy grail - a delivery driver who actually reads and uses the delivery instructions for hard to find places!! That alone blew me away (but I enjoyed the food too).

Curry sauce with chips...would be better to place the sauce in a separate container as placing on the chips makes them go soggy. Sauce was spicy, thick and tasty. Chicken and lamb doners were good quality and not greasy or salty. Overall a good meal for a sensible price

I just love to get food at small places, especially places like this. The meat is incredible. All their food is just so good. However, they only get 3 stars with me. The reason for this is because they are not very friendly. The place gets busy but it is no excuse to not be friendly. The way they put everything in is also not appealing. You can't really eat the sandwich with the bread wide open with too much of everything in it. In conclusion, perfect taste, inconvenient to eat

Rude staff , and friends of staff , went for late kebab , people where abusive and rude , mainly friends of workers outside kebab shop , would avoid this place in future.

Great tasty food! Only in Aberystwyth for a week and wanted a nice kebab. This place didn't disappoint!!

Okay food quality, not the best service from staff, we ordered the largest mixed grill and bbq chicken pizza. Meat and chicken in the grill were not great, dry and chewy. Donner kebab and chicken Donner were quite good and so was the salad, Chilli sauce not the best and garlic mayonnaise was pretty good! The takeaway is up a side road from the beach front. Maybe best to stick with KFC or fresh Fish n Chips?

Amazing food, very filling and very large portions. Very apologetic for being late, even if they were 30 whole minutes late. Overall though, good, I guess. The lateness isn't so bad in light of the food itself.

The delivery driver is an absolute joy. She’s always full of smiles and a pleasure to see. Worth using that takeaway just for her.

Ordered through Just Eat. 3 x medium lamb kebab & chips. £20. Pretty sure we got 3 large, as they were huge. Super tasty, loads of meat, decent chips. Delivered fast by a very nice lady.

Lovely food but really late delivery. When I placed order at 9:15pm it said delivery 22:10. As soon as I paid it went to 22:30. Actually arrived at 22:45. Delivery driver lovely and very apologetic but think the times need to be more realistic.

Okayish food recommended only after a session. Hardly connoisseur. ( chips and onion rings were greasy and soggy) Bit pricey too, but check out the "Free bottle of Coke worth a £1 for orders over £30" 😂 😂 Big portions though. You won't go hungry if you can actually manage it.

Food was alright. The service is really bad. We've been told by the app to collect in 25 minutes time so we didn't leave earlier. We got a message after 5 minutes saying the order is ready. So we sprinted over and just asked if the food is still warm because the Collection time was completely off. Instead of being nice the owner wanted to make us believe we don't understand the app. I'm sorry but "your order is ready to collect at 11:05" isn't really something to misunderstand. He was simply rude. Also the Food had the wrong sauce on it so maybe next time instead of doing it quick quick just do it right and be nice to customers. Really bad service.
