Always top class Food best lamb n rice and owner is very friendly.

We ordered kabsa for the family, which we order on a regular basis from here. And never were disappointed except this time. The food was cold. If this dish is cold or eaten after a long time, it never tastes the same as it is freshly made. Time management is needed for this shop in order to fulfil customer's needs. Staff is very good and friendly, very helpful & well organised. The restaurant looks clean but not to that point where we can enjoy with family. Overall cannot judge this place only on the basis of 1 disappointment. I will still order food from here and expect it to be the same as before.

Just had my first ever Somali breakfast. I met a young man and asked him (a random customer) what he would recommend for breakfast he said sukkaar with Chapatti and tea. I thought let's do it. Ordered a sukkaar breakfast with two chappatis, comes with green chilli sauce (baris) and a wedge of lemon, the sukkaar is a bowl of meat cut in to small pieces with some pepper in it. I believe it's cooked with ghee my god that was delicious. The tea was also delicious. This cost only £6 plus £1 for an extra chappati. Breakfast was very filling and really delicious the tea was also lovely. 10/10 full marks. I also purchased 3 mendazis, 2 kitombias and 2 samoosas/samboosas. Again 10/10 full marks. Everything together cost me only £14.20 Kind man served me with a smile and the atmosphere was really nice and relaxed. Made me feel welcome. I am not affiliated to this restaurant in any way shape or form. Thank you and keep up the good work Island dishes. I will definitely be back.

If you want authentic Somalian biryani or food in general this is the spot in Leicester. It may not look very appealing or inviting but it is in their own way.

Scammers, put £90 through their contactless machine for an order that should have been £14 so not an accidental slip, no answer from phone currently having to dispute with the police

The food was amazing. Really enjoyed ourselves. The service was excellent and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They even went out of their way to make sure we were happy.

Like one of the reviews said, this place does not look all that but the food is so nice. And it has a big seating area with curtain facility to keep privacy too. The food is really nice and there portions are a lot too. Highly recommend this place.

My family invited me to this restaurant. The restaurant doesn't look stylish which might put some people off however, I tell you something the lamb leg they served us was one the best I've ever tasted. It tasted like home food cooked with heart and soul. That's what makes the difference and I'm glad to have eaten there.

Weekend mornings - fresh mandazi, bajiya and chutney, vitimbua... Love it!

If your hungry you need to come here. The roast/grilled chicken is great so is the chicken curry with rice. Boom you will be filled. Its not fancy but very wholesome honest food.
