Another fab time at Inshes Gate, not just the meal, but the fantastic banter with the staff. Kayleigh always has a smile on her face, no matter how busy she is, Johnny and Donald so professional, with great humour, always making time to chat to everyone

This is one of my regular Sunday lunchtime eating place. Everyone always make me so welcome and whether I am booked in or not there is always a wee space for me. For me getting the crack with staff including kayleigh and period is 1st class. Thank you all.

Visited 10/03/2025 Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent, we had the Chicken and pulled ham pie and Spicy Chicken Burger, both Thanks to John, Kayleigh (our server)and the Staff for another great visit

We had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. Kylie and Keelin were both so professional, warm, and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. Their lovely service truly stood out! I went in one Sunday for the carvery - I had been in before so knew what I was getting. When I went this time, the price had gone up slightly to £12.45 but it is still exceptionally good value. You get a choice of turkey, beef or gammon and you can help yourself to as much of the trimmings as you would like. Food is delicious, service is very quick and I definitely recommend it. Booking is recommended as it gets very busy on a Sunday with the carvery on.

Busy place, very popular with families. Attentive staff, good service, good food, proper pub grub. No issues and will be back.

Very quiet, arrived at 3.30. Food was very good. Staff helpful and attentive, but had to chase our desert! Wheelchair accessible. But toilet is a bit tight.

The food was alright, we have been there for the playing area more that my daughter like it. Maybe they should try to advertise or to tidy up often because kids are running without shoes around the tables.

Very disappointing. Got left at the bar after being told to wait for our booked table as we were early (understandably). Then they forgot about us and left us waiting for over half an hour. When I finally got fed up and asked what was happening with our table we got told to join the long queue going out the door to see if they could 'find us a table'... Even though we were previously told when we first arrived that our table was almost ready. So they obviously gave it to someone else. Very long queues to the bar that weren't going down. Frazzled staff that didn't know what they were doing. Food isn't worth the service or the wait. We went somewhere else in the end. Very disappointing, probably will not be returning. Train your staff better! Poor girls looked paniced and like they had been thrown in the deep end with little or no training!! Appalling. We were not the only unhappy ones.

Had a lovely Christmas dinner at brewers fayre,inshes gate,Inverness today.John looked after us and was very attentive.

Friday night and the place is maybe half full, with very little atmosphere. The food is what you expect, pub grub and good value. However, the staff were miserable, no smiles, no enjoy your food, no thank you. I told the duty manager and he just said I've been nice to you 🤦 Cheap accomodation, cheap food, needs a lick of paint and maybe better management in the restaurant....

2 tills on the bar but only one used..knock on effect was a queue of around 15 people waiting to be served with a mix of food or beverage requests. Took 20 minutes to get a drink and by this time food has been served to the table without my knowledge eventually got a drink but food had been left standing and was cold...not the best experience tbh.

Service was brilliant (Kaleigh, Inverness), the play area for the kids is fantastic, the food was quite good, thanks.

Visited this restaurant today, we had the pre Xmas festive menu. The food was amazing and served piping hot and the servicefrom Leah,Kalleigh and Vera was brilliant ,smart and very efficient and great attention to detail. Excellent value for money. Lovely Christmas dinner and desserts at Brewers Faire tonight. Excellent plateful of turkey 4 sorts of veg (sprouts, carrots, cabbage, roast parsnips) as well as crispy roast tatties plus a good 4 slices of turkey, pigs in blankets and a Yorkshire pud. All I missed was cranberry sauce but all was hot and tasty with a good helping of gravy in a wee jug on the side. Desserts: beautifully presented After8 sundae and my husband was impressed with the spiced apple and berry crumble and custard. Great value, lovely staff. Thank you.

Stopped off for dinner as staying at the Premier inn and can't fault. starter, main and desert all spot on.

Staff were very helpful and fitted us in when we did not have a booking when they were busy. Kayleigh was very good to deal with along with her other colleagues.

The staff are very friendly and approachable and eager to help in any way they can. If you are a regular at the inches Gate, they also remember your drink order they also make you feel welcome and a valued customer.I had a very good experience at breakfast time where there is a good choice of food and the staff will cater for your needs and are very chatty. A place worth a visit.

Disappointed with the choices for food, didn't have everything listed on the online menu for the Sunday carvery.

We enjoyed a great meal at Inches Gate..I had the mixed grill and my had the steak..everything was cooked to perfection..also very hot.

The lady took away our plates in the middle of the meal. Almost full plates of the food! She thought, that we finish!!! Avoid!

Had a really good meal here, the staff were fantastic especially the host John, he really couldn’t do enough for us and made our visit a memorable one, will definitely be visiting this place again. A+ service 😊

Came in last minute for breakfast, we had 5 minutes to grab and dash but managed a good breakfast. Staff offered to heat up pastries and if we wanted anything else..

Staying in the hotel so standard dinner at brewers fayre. The food was hot and served quick which is appreciated. It's a brewers fayre menu the menu isn't great but the chefs obviously working hard as the place was very busy and we still got food hot and relatively quick. The restaurant staff and bar staff were very friendly and very helpful and rushed off their feet. Would return again if Staying at Premier as service was good and food. Thanks

Second time myself and family have visited this restaurant and yet again we had outstanding service particularly from John. Food was very good couldn't fault a thing.

Some gorgeous staff, very helpful, but dam,, food and closing times are getting ridiculous,, place is quite full and busy,, and there bloody hoovering up around you getting ready for breakfast, whilst your still eating your evening meal,, 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️, it's just like a mad rush to get everyone out so they can go home,,, what happened to hospitality,, AND STOP, blaming Covid, I'm sick of that excuse 😡

Family friendly - casual and really fair prices - food very OK

There is not enough words that I can describe about the warm, wonderful, and welcoming staff at Brewers were. We received such a pleasant welcome Sunday when we come in supporting a friend who looks forward and enjoys his yummy Sunday Roast. All the staff are just so attentive, Johnny has fun banter with us and always has our table ready. Donald, Kayleigh, chef Kyle and all of the lovely staff couldn’t do more, always checking that everything is ok, but more importantly making time to chat with customers, despite them being so busy! Eating there is such a comfortable experience, you are made to feel so relaxed while enjoying such a varied delicious Sunday Roast.

Lovely breakfast this morning at the brewers fayre, myself and my colleague had just finished work and we had a great greeting on entry and the server was perfect. Recommended, nice banter.

First time here on a Sunday, great atmosphere, we had 2 carvery and surf n turf style meal and a chicken burger... Every thing delicious really tasty... staff super friendly , couldn't fault it... Excellent 👍 well definitely be back.

It's a strange place right from arrival being difficult to find due to lack of signage and needing to enter your registration for parking. While the food is good quality, some of the menu choices are bizarre. Instead of doing a chicken burger they do chicken goujons in a bun. They just fell out all over the place, the bun may as well have been left off. My main issue is the changes that have been made in ordering are ridiculous for this type of venue. If we have ten people round a table, two kids in high chairs and three more running around at the play area and back, gathering our own order and taking it to the bar makes no sense. Something has gone wrong long the way with the ordering system too as we could not even order drinks to our table and had to order them separately. No table service at all, with four or five staff walking around and only two other tables you would have thought the place was full with the service we got. Nobody came to take drink orders, no table service. Only one server seemed to have any awareness when picking up plates that the table was done despite every other server walking past over the course of half an hour. The service on the whole seemed lacking and I blame motivation from leadership. Nobody seemed like they wanted to be there and it shows through in small ways. The staff had no time to interact with the kids, didn't even acknowledge this was a birthday event. They are clearly not getting good leadership.

Stayed here from 26th August till 29th. Food wasn’t great on our first night. Over cooked chips and onion rings. Ate elsewhere on the 2nd night and then on the 3rd night food was amazing. Keelin who looked after us at dinner was very helpful and looked after us, pleasant and lovely girl. At breakfast food was nice and John who served us was very helpful with anything we needed. Overall a great wee place to stay.

Following a visit to the Culloden battlefield, we called at the restaurant for a spot of lunch early afternoon on a Friday in mid-September. We got parked fine, though you must remember to validate your parking at the machine by the entrance. The staff were great, friendly and welcoming and the food was "ok" - as expected, certainly nothing to write home about, but also nothing bad. We ordered starters and main courses from the daytime menu which was good overall value. With drinks, our bill came to just under £25.00.

The restaurant was clean staff was excellent, very attentive.

We went Saturday afternoon it was quiet we were greated with smiling friendly staff me and my partner had the 8 ounce sirloin steak it was 10 out of 10 could not been better our waitress was kayleigh she was very friendly with us and other guests.the hole experience was 10 out of 10 I High recommend 😀

Staff here were lovely. Food was ok, club sandwich was disappointing. It was very dry, no butter or the like on the toast, I wouldn't order it again. It was like eating cardboard.

At the end of a long drive, you may feel that a meal where you're staying would be just the ticket. You'd be wrong. If you want disappointment and cannot find a local whetherspoons, then Brewers Fayre it is. It's the only Fayre that one should not be thrilled to visit. The food was uninspiring and bland. The chicken pie, mash and peas came served like prison food, with a very odd space on the plate that seemed to imply something was missing. It was. Flavour. The peas were a colour that seemed to be nostalgic of the field in which they grew, but sadly couldn't quite recall what green looked like - sitting on the plate in a sad grey-green pool of despair. Others on our table had peas that had better memories though. I understand that I may be judging the place harshly, the staff were nice and friendly. The two women who served us were lovely. And I'm aware that this type of bar isn't supposed to be fine dining - yet at the same time, you are paying quite high prices for something that is subpar, bland, probably reheated and evokes the regret of not taking a taxi into town. Don't end your day in the capital of the north in disappointment, go elsewhere.

The best Premier Inn breakfast we've had. Fresh food. Looked appetising and friendly staff.

It does what it says on the tin. Food was served quickly and it was hot. Good portion size. We were in before 6, so got 2 for £11.99, then a £2.99 pud. Which was excellent. Nice feel to the place, sat in bar area seats which was nice and busy. Plenty of parking.

To be fair, this isn't the best Brewers Fayre we've been too. The food was okay, not many members of staff smiling at all and we were in an area on our own away from where everyone else was eating.

Ate most of my Fish & Chip meal, only to discover a piece of plastic (that came from a sachet of sauce) underneath the fish. When I spoke to the manager, I received no apology, but was accused that the sachet was mine, from my meal. I stated I never used any sachets of sauce with my meal, only the Tarte sauce that came with it. No refund or apology, but was offered a ' free pudding'. I'll vote with my feet now, shoddy customer service...Top Tip: ( Check your plate, before you eat your meal). AVOID.

We went to Brewers Fayre today with a friend of mine and had a really good time. Kayleigh is an example of how a really good waiter should work. Despite the large number of people in the restaurant, she did everything on time, trying to make our visit here as comfortable as possible. I have nothing to add except that this is one of the best services in my experience. The food was great, the Smothered Platter is like an art form, many thanks to the cooks! I highly recommend this place and will come back here again and again and…AGAIN!!!😊

where do i begin, i use to come here everyday however i stopped coming around May time and I decided to come back with a friend and I have not been disappointed, service has been amazing as usual and the food was delicious, All servers were amazing, Iona, Lucy, Adam and Kayleigh. i sure have missed this place would recommend

Got in around 5:30 we didnt have a booking but managed to grab a table for 7 people, we were greeted by Kayleigh who had overheard it was my daughter’s birthday and gave her a bag of lollies and sticker book!! She was so chuffed!! Great deals on food, Amazing service and the gifts were such a lovely touch!! Thank you Kayleigh!! :)

Gosh another perfect Sunday lunch, I'm finding it very difficult to find any faults, from the moment we arrive to when we leave, met by Johnny's infectious cheer and banter, Kelin so happy and chatty, and Miles at the carvery friendly and helpful, and all the other staff, all together they run the place with such ease. We always recommend inshes gate Brewers Fayre to all our family and friends. 10 out of 10 guys, see you all next week xx

Overall what you expect of a Brewers Fayre

Morin, moreen not sure if it was Alex but he is a friend of Aedan. He is a nice dude and an asset to the team. He said the mix grill must be mine because I am big and strong. I would rather he said fat , because come on I have quite a belly. Anyway all in it was a good experience.

Kayleigh was very helpful and efficient. We were quite a big party but she made sure we were all ok.

Nice place to eat late in the night when everywhere else is closed. Recommend booking in advance (even if it's just tens of minutes), the booking system via google maps works fine. Food was good, portions big enough. Service was a little slow and the lady at the till seemed annoyed, but overall fine. Free parking for guests at the premier inn hotel parking.

Unfortunately I have to give one star after today’s experience We had enjoyed our meal with friends visiting from the south and we’re catching up on each other’s news Embarrassingly we were asked to leave to vacate the table as it was required for other guests. As we left we noticed numerous empty tables Not a good advert for the premises or highland hospitality

Typical brewers fayre. Believed it was shut to non residents but not the case. Food was good and much better than previous visits moons ago. No tables left in kids play area so make sure you book this ahead of time. Only criticism was that the table didn't get cleared very quickly after finishing our meal and there wasn't many staff on the floor to help

I can’t say enough good things about the service we received from the staff at this restaurant, especially Johnny.  Their professionalism and warmth added a personal touch to our visits each time we eat at the restaurant. We have began coming every Sunday for a considerable time now due to the amazing Sunday Carvery which is hard to beat for taste, the variety and abundance of food, and we are left feeling thoroughly satisfied on every visit. We want to thank Johnny for going above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience is always perfect. His genuine hospitality and impeccable service makes all the difference,  and he is an absolute gem. We have been to many similar restaurants, but this one truly stands out. The attention to detail and commitment to guest service sets it apart from the rest, the old restaurant exceeded all my expectations. You do not often find a place where every element comes together so perfectly. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone we encounter, and if Johnny is on duty, he will ensure you're well looked after.

Great value after having paid £15-£30 per person at hotels for mediocre at best for most of the breakfast offerings in hotels. €10.99 each for a wonderful all you can eat buffet style breakfast. Great place. Nice, clean cozy place. Friendly and excellent staff. Well run. Definitely will look up again.

I had fish and chips ...frozen fish was soggy and tasteless .frozen chips cold and mushy peas cold also .wasn't that busy still waited nearly 15 minutes at the bar .1 girl behind bar another 4 or 5 wandering about doing nothing and not a smile from anyone...very very poor

Plenty choice available cooked breakfast cereal and fruit the cooked breakfast was amazing whoever the chef is done an amazing job and the food was constantly topped up as it is a buffet style all u can eat

Fantastic service from Donald and his team.. I was recommended rhe pizza which was beautiful, fresh (vegetable) toppings and not greasy or stodgy, really crisp. A great new addition to the menu for non- meat eaters like me! You chose your own toppings! Husband's fish n chips was perfect too! Thanks ☺️

First visit here, used to frequent the Beefeater but this is the sister restaurant and the food and selection of drink is as good - and it's cheaper

We had excellent service from the moment we walked in to the moment that we left. In particular Leah was very helpful and made sure that our food was delicious and that we were all doing well. Will definitely be coming back!!!

Staff are great, foods tasty and it's always busy which is a good sign for other customers.

Pretty mediocre all round for food, also don't come here in the evening, was closed for drinks at 9.20 when advertised open until 10.30.
